EXACTLY the video I wanted to see!!! Not only am I getting ready to connect my 4-channel amp and 12" 4-ohm sub, but also plan on running my 4 front & rear speakers like you showed the 5-channel set-up. What really made me smile when I clicked on this video was the fact that you showed the connections to the exact same amp I just bought on eBay! At least it sure looks the same. Mine is the Kenwood KAC-8406 class A/B 4-channel. I've run amps with this same configuration in the past and it worked out perfect. I just like to make sure any new amp I buy is capable of the 5-channel hookup. Looks like this Kenwood is. My front and rear speakers are all four Clarion SRG-1623R which I purchased a few years ago based NOT on their 260w maximum power handling but for their high frequency response! These little speakers go all the way up to 30,000Hz with was about the highest highs I could find any 6-1/4's going up to in my online comparisons before I bought them. They just don't do much in the bass department. In my Chevy Prizm, I was able to cut out the 6-1/4" holes in the rear deck to make room for the huge bridges of the Clarion SRG-6953R 600-watt 5-way 6x9's. Those were the BEST sounding 6x9's I've ever heard in any of my cars in 40+ years! People used to ask me all the time what kind of subs I was running, when all it was were a pair of rear 6x9's! All my speakers were connected to a Boston GT-40 4-channel amp through a Clarion EQS-746 passive equalizer. ANYWAY... back to the reason for my comment! I was VERY thankful for your video! It showed me that my newest Kenwood amp IS capable of a 5-channel hookup! Oh, by the way, NICE touch on the making of your new wire terminals!
So as I'm seeing is to connect my front or all 4 speakers to my amp plus a sub do I wire up from the individual door or from the back of my aftermarket deck?
This video just saved the day. I used to have an amp in my hyundai elantra about, 16 years ago. Now, my corvette C5 came with an AMP. This video let me do the Sub woofer and 4 speakers for the 2 channel 5 speaker setup! Bridge the B and duplicate in A L & R. Amazing.
I've got an old Sony Xplod 444 amp (I bought used), it came with a subwoofer, so I figured I should be able to connect it, but couldn't find any information anywhere - until now. Question - if you duplicate A L & R, how do you fade front to rear?
So Question I have a 4 channel amp 2400 watts total or 600 watts per channel and 2 subs. If I bridge them will that increase my watts from 600 to 1200 per sub?
I’ve got a 2 channel amp laying around and been thinking about putting it in my jeep. Might wire the front speakers to one channel and the rear speakers to the other. I don’t use balance much but I do fade them from time to time and being able to keep the fronts and rears separate would be nice.
Hi there, awesome help you videos have been. Last time I installed a car audio system, I was in high school, I am now 52🥴. Anyhoo I am about to install a system that looks to be a 5 channel setup, and with both front and rear speakers connected to the “A” line and the sub bridged, do you lose the fader that way?
am planning to install a 3 way audio system on a 1952 chevy truck. for now i have a head unit (DDX917WS) ands 4 speakers (7"kenwood excelon 110 w) for doors and kick panels so i just wondering if u can give me an advice on what is the best Amplifier, Tweeters, and Subwoofer to buy and how to wire it?
I just sat here and watched several of your videos. I love how much pride you guys take in the quality of your work. From the Tesa tape all the way to removing the insulation from the spade terminals, and using color-coordinated heat shrink. I do have a couple burning questions, though. Those Monster Cable things you used to help separate the wires, what are those called? and secondly, what is the name for that cable you're using that has two insulated wires inside of it? I'm really hoping to install my stuff in a quality manner as you have.
I bought some from KnuKonceptz! They call them speaker wire pants. They were only a dollar each! You just tell them what gauge speaker wire you're using. In my case, I bought the 12 gauge ones. I also first seen those in this video! Plus, I also bought colored heat shrink in red, black and blue after watching this video. Now if I could only learn to solder! ;)
@@Qualitymobilevideo Hi mate. Had few things just wanted to ask you about, if you do not mind helping me out! I have a powered sub (jbl basspro sl) in my car. I also got 2 pioneer champion series 6x9 speakers (at the back) and 2 philips 6 inch speakers in front doors which i'm about to upgrade in some time and add a pair of tweeters. These are run by a pioneer head unit : deh-x3950bt. So just wanted to know if i can connect an amp (about 400W) as a 2-channel to those speakers and if i should be using a distribution block along with a capacitor as well...Thanks for your precious help in advance!
@@Qualitymobilevideo i have a question. I have a 12" memphis sub and 500 watt sony amp should i upgrade my amp to have a clear sound for my sub? Im thinking about having it put in my 2017 buick regal
I have an amplifier installed running one a subwoofer box only and ofcourse i also have my 4door speakers that run off the original stereo… if i were to switch out my amplifier for a 5 channel amplifier will i be able to run my subwoofer box and add in 4 more speakers in the back seat if my headliner?
Could you do a video on how to hook them up to highs and mids I'm very curious or can you recommend a video thanks gave great detail and helpful info .
I just run a bigger gauge power wire to a distribution block and run power from there to amps. But ALWAYS ground each amp separately, not to same screw. VERY IMPORTANT is that you use a relay to turn on more than 1 amp! The turn-on lead from a head unit is very low voltage and not designed to turn on multiple items like amps. You'll fry the turn-on circuit of your deck trying to turn on more than one amp. As for grounds, what I do because I'm weird is run a large gauge ground to another distribution block then run grounds from the block to each component. Wish I could post a picture of how I do it! But think link MIGHT work to show my odd usage of distribution blocks! Even one for turn-ons! i254.photobucket.com/albums/hh100/Hairball98498/98%20Stratus%20stereo/P5130209.jpg
Thanks a ton, man. I have a 9-speaker factory Rockford Fosgate system that uses a 7-channel configuration, and I have spent two days looking for a way to make that many speakers (all changed out to 4 ohm) plus another added sub work with a (more powerful) 4 channel amp. My issue was how to use the outputs in a way to maximize power. Found it in this video. Now I just have a lot of math to do.
How does wiring 2 sets of speakers (2 front/2 rear) in parallel affect the volume/sound quality those 4 speaker? Assuming total impedance of the speakers is matched to the amps capability
Awesome video, nice explained everything. I have a question, I have a Nissan titan truck with after market stereo and speakers, 2 small speakers on the dashboard, 2 on the front door and a set of 6.5" mid range on the rear doors with crossovers and tweeters, also a 10" subwoofer. I just got a new amp a pioneer GM- DX874 class D 4 channel . A friend give me a dual subwoofer goes under the back sit, can I use this amplifier to connect this dual sub with the speakers or do I need to get a separate amp just for the subs?
If I'm correct I have one set of rca inputs and 4 speaker leads which 2 of them are used to bridge my 10 inch sub was gonna change my amp or as i already set up is 2nd amp option with rca, power junction box and I piggyback the remote wire off the current remote wire but haven't gotten a another amp as of yet
So for wiring speakers in parallel you can just connect both speakers to one channel? I've also seen it done where you make the parallel connection though the speakers terminals and I'm guessing you instead have one set of wires going to the wattage source. Essentially the same thing correct?
Glad they didn't go into dual voice coil subs along with what they did here. Good info for people out there who are new to car audio or just don't understand how this stuff works. For me it was mundane but MECP certified back in the 90's so... While car audio is just a hobby for me now, back then I thought I might want to install for a living. Installed on the side for several years while working in a electronics store. Got married and car audio took a back burner finally ending up operating tractors. Working on a install in our Hyundai Sonata. Have the double din touchscreen in running the factory speakers currently. Sub box with 2 Fosgate dual voice coil 12's is done and I'm working on the amp rack with EQ now. Once that's done I'll install all the door speakers and run wires from the amp for those. After that I plan to play around with some LED lighting. I've got the light strips and controllers already. Just waiting on the switches and several reed relays to show up for that. Our daughter is getting handed down the Mazda with 2 Boston Acoustic 10's and Soundstream amps.
The RCA cables seem to be my Achilles heel. I have a 6 channel Alpine amp with 4 door speakers and 2 subs. So do I need 6 RCA cables coming from my head unit?, Or does it know which is which, as far as low end signal and high end?
Depends how many come off your head unit. Should at least run a sub rca and voice rca. Some head units have front and rear rca outputs for voice. Some have only 1 set. Run 1 set rca's for the subwoofers and a second for the vocal amp. If you do not have a 3rd or rear channel rca out the head unit you use Y adaptors to turn the 2 voice rca's into 4 to plug into the Amp (just make sure you keep left and right separate and plug into proper rca inputs to the Amp.
Good video but some people should be told that speakers in parallel will lose the fade adjustment from front to rear speakers. That's why I use a 4 channel amp and a seperate amp for the subwoofer.
That's how i learnt the hard way a guy connected my speakers like this and when I put it on loud I thought my front one and back one weren't working now its loud and I like it
Can you go into more detail on how you connected that? And were you able to run it with stock battery? I know it's been some time but i'd really appreciate the help lol
Ok so I have a 78 jimmy which originally had 1 speaker in the center of the dash, I plan on adding 2 kicker panel speakers, possibly 2 speakers in the back and replace the dash speaker with 2 smaller ones , could I use a 4 channel and just hook up the dash speaker wires where the wires go for the front left and right speakers on the amp?
my issue is my factory amp that powers the door speakers front and back is bad . i wana go ahead and just through subs in with new amp .so do i just keep the old amp pluged in or what ? is the amp connected to the radio if so that would prob be a issue or does the car speakers get a diffrent amp then the subs?
quick question lets say i connect front speakers bridged to channel 1&2 to get 200RMS. And i need 75 RMS for Tweets can i connect 1 tweet normaly to channel 1 and 1 normally to channel 2 just to get the 75 rms from each one or will it interfere with the bridged connection?
i already have a good knowledge on installing an amp, i want to install a 5 channel amp, im planning on buying a RCA converter and get the music signal from my rear speakers and install a sub, Ik the amp will work for my 2 rear speakers and the sub, but what about my front 2 speakers? if it doesnt, u think i can rewire the front 2 speakers and only have it wired from the amp?
I have a '09 H3 with the monsoon set up. 2 tweets in A pillars, 6.5 in each door, 8in sub in back. Amp isnt adjustable so I'd like replace it with something compatible but not sure how big I should go. All speakers, except for sub, have just been replaced with Rockford Fosgate P165SI in front, P1650 in rear. Head unit is Kenwood DDX396. I have a cheap Dual 1000w. Question is, will that be enough to run everything, as is, until I can replace sub or should I just use it to power current sub? Any help would be appreciated. Ty.
this really helped me understand a lot better. thanks for the well made comprehensive video. there are so many crap videos out there that confuse me more or are so low quality/poorly made that I want to SLAM my head into the freaking keyboard. THANK YOU
Nice 👍. I have 4 channel amp. 1pair 70 RMS each component. 1pair 100 RMS each ovel focal auditor speaker. If one channel support 80rms in amp. Then how I get perfect power for 100 RMS speaker on rear.
hey man sorry for this question taking ur time; i just bought a used 10 inch 700 watt pioneer sub woofer i have an aftermarket stereo in my civic 09. was planning to buy a mono amp but seen this video kinda puzzled me if it's possible to run mono on my car or get the 4 channel amp. cheers mate and thanks
what channel do I need? 2front, 2rear, plus 2-12in woofs. I did this myself. honestly I had no clue. the wiring was already set up though, just plug and go...
Well you have a few options, you can use a 5 channel or 4 channel. Or get a monoblock dedicated to your subwoofers and a 4 channel for the speakers. You could also power the front speakers with the head unit or with the new amplifier.
+Quality Mobile Video @7:37 Do we maintain fade and balance with this setup? Also, would a 5 channel LOC best fit this application? Excellent work as per usual.
When you say your running the door speakers parallel in the 5 channel example. Does that mean you're changing the impedance? Thats confusing cos i have 4ohm speakers and by doing this will they go down to 2 ohm? I only ask cos i was trying to go with super tweeters which i could bridge. But if this changes my impedance from 4 ohm to 2 ohm it may fry my speakers as the amp at 2 ohm goes above the safety power guideline of the speakers
I have tweeters, two front, and two rear speakers and then I want one sub. What channel amp do I get? I bought this car that has jbl speakers installed(2 tweets, 2 front, and 2 rear) and it had an amp and was wired for a single sub. he had to take the sub and amp out when he sold it to me so all I need is to plug an amp and sub. problem is I have no idea what amp to get. he told me to get a 4 channel but when I asked him what amp he used it was a 5 channel one. I'm so confused.
Roshan Abraham 4 channels bridge 1 sub. 700 watts should sufficient. But yet again, what car you have? My car has Pioneer DEH3800UI head unit, Pioneer TS-G1605C 280w component speakers front, Pioneer TS-A935H 550w 3 way speakers rear and Pioneer TS-WX120A 120w active subwoofer with no amps at all. Sounds really great and price wise are affordable 🙂
Its a 2002 Subaru impreza outback sport. I bought it last week form a guy. It actually doesn't have tweeters but still has after market front pair and back pair. My issue is that It was wired to subs and a amp. When the guy sold it to me he had to take the amp and sub out. So now I have a ton of wires under the drivers seat(where the amp was) and I cant play any music until I plug them into an amp. That's why I'm really confused on what amp to get.
intergratypezero . So hookup front and rear speakers in parallel to the two front channels on a 2ohm stable amp then Bridge the two rear channels of the amp to run to subwoofer ?
Hey I have an older Optimum XL150 4 channel amp. I want to hook it up to an existing system in my trailer stereo. I just want the outside speakers and subwoofer connected to the amp. Not wanting to boost watts to the indoor speakers. How do you recommend this install. Thank you in advance.
very clean work, have to give you that... But you dont run the positive along side the remote, it slightly distorts the amp. put the positive on one side of the car and the remote on the other side. then put back on the computer and see the full power without be distorted.
The remote turn-on lead is SO low power it would NEVER induce noise into an RCA cable! Really. Most are like 0.5 volts max! But the one important thing most people don't realize that IS a true fact is you NEVER want to use your head unit's remote turn-on lead to power up more than ONE thing! EVER! You'll fry that circuit in seconds trying to draw that much power from it! Instead, you always run your turn-on lead to a relay! Then power whatever you want off the relay! Myself, I'm weird and old, so I came up with my own personal idea on the use of relays and distribution blocks: I use 1 relay, but the power from it goes to a seperate distribution block for to amp turn-on leads, 1 distribution block to make ONE ground point than run 4 grounds to all the stuff, and a third distribution block puts main power from the main fuse to each of 4 components instead of trying to connect a bunch of power wires! May seem weird, but it sure doesn't hurt anything! And it not only looks cool, but gets a LOT of comments and it DOES work! i254.photobucket.com/albums/hh100/Hairball98498/98%20Stratus%20stereo/P5110189.jpg
Did u make the split sleeves you put on the wire terminals or did you buy them? If purchased where can I get those at. The most difficult issues I run into is connecting terminals to my wires. Idk why I have issues in this department cause I have the right tools and supplies but for some reason terminals come off or won't fit in the hook ups on the amps,etc... my system.went down on me piece by piece over the last 2 weeks so I threw a couple mismatched brand of subs in my truck temporarily so I'd still have music. I plan on redoing the whole system so any tips and tricks would be helpful.
This just isn't complete enough for me. Those wires going under the screws on the amp. Where do they go? What are they attached to? Where does the 8 speaker wires on the head unit go? Do the speaker wires from the speakers hook up to the amp? Where do they hook up to on the amp? So far I can't find any videos that answer what questions I have. They all assume. Even if they posted a pictorial diagram, I wouldn't need a video.. Easiest thing to do. Spread all components out on a big table like surface and attach the wires. Takes away all the mystery.
This is a to demonstrate the wiring options, you have to decide how you are going to run your speakers depending on loading. The wires go to the speakers but you are presented with several wiring options when using multi-channel amplifiers, do you want to run four speakers and a sub? That is a three way setup, do you want to run four speakers? That is a four channel setup. What are you stuck on?
@@Qualitymobilevideo I'm looking to run 4 speakers and 1 sub. I just need to understand that I run the speaker wires from the head unit to the Amplifier. Once that is done. Is there connections from the Amplifier to the speakers? My install is all to be new, I am not including any stock components. I will probably be purchasing a 5 channel amplifier just for the ease of making the necessary connections and I won't have to worry about bridging. I bought a bunch of speaker cables. They have those RCA plugs on them. I guess that was probably a waste of money. I haven't really seen anyone using them. Thanks for responding.
I understand your frustration. I’m feeling it too. I want someone to explain the first part of the amp installation with the wires from the head unit to the amplifier and which connection it goes to. Then they can explain the connection from the amplifier to the speakers. That would really help a lot of people.
@@-emme-nguyen4404 Looks like we are both stuck on the same problems. I still am yet to tackle this job. I'm waiting until winter is over, then I'll resume the battle. Got to do some more research though first. I wish you success with your installation.
For the 4 channel amp connection , would I just have to splice into the wires from the head units existing speaker wire and run it to the amplifier in the back ? Would RCAs be needed at that point because my stock headunit does not have RCA connection

My subwofer bridged as you show. My sbwoofer is 150watt rms at 8 omhs but I will connect a resistance 50watt of 8ohms parallel. will I have a problem?

So 10 speakers total. You can either use multiple 4-5 channel amps, or use one 4-5 channel amp and wire the the front speakers and tweeters to the head unit

If i have a single rca output from my stereo, and want to connect both my rear speakers and sub in the truck through a four channel amp, how to do that.. My front speakers will be run directly by car stereo's inbuilt amp. Even if i use a Y splitter RCA, i won't be able to control sub and rear speakers volume separately. Is there any way to do this?
Hey. Need some help with an amplifier. It is a 4 channel amp that can be bridged to 2x240w, right. So if I add 2 independent speakers to another 2 free channels, how will the power be distributed? Do I lose that 240w from a sub and that will be shared to those other channels?
Hi great video. Big questions: 1. How do i now the stock output in watts of my car radio? 2. If the stock system has 4x 25watts speakers, does it mean that the radio output is 200w? 3. Does the output of the amplifier change in different radios? (Using the same amp)
1. Tough to tell, you can refer to your car manual or call the manufacturer 2. Yes each channel is getting 25W 3. The amplifier power will always stay the same. The power would change if the speakers were wired to the head unit instead
You have a video on how to install a 4 channel amp to 6.5 component speaker set up? I have front and rear components so four 6.5 woofer and 4 tweeters, they set up came with cross over boxes as well they are Rockford foagate t3 kit
I have a 4 channel Neo4v2 amp, and it tends to sound like the radio is getting more amp juice than when I use BT from my phone with the phone volume all the way up. Reason I say this is bc the max volume on the headunit is 63 and I've always played BT at 40-45 vol, which was loud enough. I'm finding myself now having to go up to 63 on BT but 40-45 vol on radio. This was never the case until I got some 135W dash speakers installed connected to the amp. Also, my 400W door speakers doesn't seem to be bumpin' like it used to prior to getting the dash speakers installed, as if the dash speakers are getting more of the juice now from the amp. Is it possible the wiring was changed and needs adjusting?

I’m trying to grasp my mind around connecting a subwoofer to a 5 channel amp. To connect a subwoofer to the amp do I just plug into the rca outputs on the back of the amp, and connect the bare wire of the other end of the rca cables into the sub?
What about on early 2000 Mercedes where the speakers are directly connected to the amplifier in the trunk and not behind the head unit? How does installing it happen do you have a video on that set up?

So as I'm seeing is to connect my front or all 4 speakers to my amp plus a sub do I wire up from the individual door or from the back of my aftermarket deck?
You have multiple options! Your amp is 4 Channels or 5?
This video just saved the day. I used to have an amp in my hyundai elantra about, 16 years ago. Now, my corvette C5 came with an AMP. This video let me do the Sub woofer and 4 speakers for the 2 channel 5 speaker setup! Bridge the B and duplicate in A L & R. Amazing.
Glad it helped!
I've got an old Sony Xplod 444 amp (I bought used), it came with a subwoofer, so I figured I should be able to connect it, but couldn't find any information anywhere - until now. Question - if you duplicate A L & R, how do you fade front to rear?
@@SureshBopitiya I was thinking about that as well for those who need the adjustability of fading.
So Question I have a 4 channel amp 2400 watts total or 600 watts per channel and 2 subs. If I bridge them will that increase my watts from 600 to 1200 per sub?
Great video.
Now I'm able to hook up 4 6x9s powered by one amp and 2 8s powered by one amp on my Harley Road glide.
Thank you.
Glad it helped!
Get the f**k out of here on a Road glide, how many saddlebags you got on that thing. Love to see pics 😜🤪😝
I’ve got a 2 channel amp laying around and been thinking about putting it in my jeep. Might wire the front speakers to one channel and the rear speakers to the other. I don’t use balance much but I do fade them from time to time and being able to keep the fronts and rears separate would be nice.
You will turn your system into a mono system.
@@Qualitymobilevideo I didn’t think about losing surround
Hi there, awesome help you videos have been. Last time I installed a car audio system, I was in high school, I am now 52🥴.
Anyhoo I am about to install a system that looks to be a 5 channel setup, and with both front and rear speakers connected to the “A” line and the sub bridged, do you lose the fader that way?
Yes....
Man I've been pondering about this the whole day cause I couldn't figure it out... Thank you so much!
Awesome!
Where do you get those wire separating covers?
am planning to install a 3 way audio system on a 1952 chevy truck. for now i have a head unit (DDX917WS) ands 4 speakers (7"kenwood excelon 110 w) for doors and kick panels so i just wondering if u can give me an advice on what is the best Amplifier, Tweeters, and Subwoofer to buy and how to wire it?
I just sat here and watched several of your videos. I love how much pride you guys take in the quality of your work. From the Tesa tape all the way to removing the insulation from the spade terminals, and using color-coordinated heat shrink. I do have a couple burning questions, though. Those Monster Cable things you used to help separate the wires, what are those called? and secondly, what is the name for that cable you're using that has two insulated wires inside of it? I'm really hoping to install my stuff in a quality manner as you have.
+sammichmanjr they are called wire pants. Thank you for the kind words! We used Monster Cable XLN
Wow thanks for the reply! I don't know why I didn't get a notification.. But I really appreciate it! Keep up the great work!
Now if I could only learn to solder! ;)
Bro you did the explanation in the best possible way bro.. I am so charged to do my amp connections... GOOD JOB SIR.
Get it done!
Nothing could be clearer than this detailed explanation!
Thanks!
You should've actually showed how to power two amps and how to hook them up that would've been awesome
W can do one on that!
Did you ever do a video for this?

Uh wouldnt a fuse block ground be basically the same thing you said you never do, just prior to that?..
Cocaine is a hell of a drug @Shawn Brown
I realize this is old but I wonder how many people's brains you fried with the very last example, pretend the bottom channel isnt there... lol
Glad it was helpful!
Nice video, this is what I have been looking for. Now I can power my 4 speakers with my subwoofer with 4 channel amplifier, Thanks.
Glad it helped!
How many ohms do the 4 speakers and sub have to be????? Thanks a million
Excellent vídeo. I have a question: What gauge or cable number do you use to connect the bass to the sub bass channel?
So for wiring speakers in parallel you can just connect both speakers to one channel? I've also seen it done where you make the parallel connection though the speakers terminals and I'm guessing you instead have one set of wires going to the wattage source. Essentially the same thing correct?
Thank you so much for making this video it helped me heaps
Not bad for a first car!
With 3 channel 2 speaker setup do you still have to use 4 inputs from the head unit?
Usually the amp will have an input selection switch and you can use just 2 channel input
Good video but some people should be told that speakers in parallel will lose the fade adjustment from front to rear speakers. That's why I use a 4 channel amp and a seperate amp for the subwoofer.
Good point
Thanks for the info really straight forward
my issue is my factory amp that powers the door speakers front and back is bad . i wana go ahead and just through subs in with new amp .so do i just keep the old amp pluged in or what ? is the amp connected to the radio if so that would prob be a issue or does the car speakers get a diffrent amp then the subs?

i have an aftermarket stereo in my civic 09. was planning to buy a mono amp but seen this video kinda puzzled me if it's possible to run mono on my car or get the 4 channel amp. cheers mate and thanks
what channel do I need? 2front, 2rear, plus 2-12in woofs. I did this myself. honestly I had no clue. the wiring was already set up though, just plug and go...
Well you have a few options, you can use a 5 channel or 4 channel. Or get a monoblock dedicated to your subwoofers and a 4 channel for the speakers. You could also power the front speakers with the head unit or with the new amplifier.
I would just use a good head unit to power all the factory speakers and hook the subs to the amp
headunit power is straight garbage lol
+Quality Mobile Video which is better, between the 4 channel or 4 channel + monoblock. I have both available?
4 channel + mono if you have a sub, and if not just get a 4 channel.
+Quality Mobile Video @7:37 Do we maintain fade and balance with this setup? Also, would a 5 channel LOC best fit this application? Excellent work as per usual.
Good job my friend
Roshan Abraham like i said, 4 channel amps. Just go with 1000w and you can go boom boom 😝
intergratypezero . So hookup front and rear speakers in parallel to the two front channels on a 2ohm stable amp then Bridge the two rear channels of the amp to run to subwoofer ?
Super Naught yup
Hey I have an older Optimum XL150 4 channel amp. I want to hook it up to an existing system in my trailer stereo. I just want the outside speakers and subwoofer connected to the amp. Not wanting to boost watts to the indoor speakers. How do you recommend this install. Thank you in advance.
very clean work, have to give you that... But you dont run the positive along side the remote, it slightly distorts the amp. put the positive on one side of the car and the remote on the other side. then put back on the computer and see the full power without be distorted.
the remote doesnt even have that much strong a signal maybe u just moved ur speaker wires away from something else
Rcas near the main power yes =noise a remote wire no never seen nor heard of it doing that
Devils Reject64 i see NM) r retro MN
No
The remote turn-on lead is SO low power it would NEVER induce noise into an RCA cable!

I want to ask if I set my amplifier as 5 channel (6:10)in your video, I have 4 speakers (front 30watt rms, rear 70watt rms) at 4 ohms and my amplifier is 4X50watt rms at 4 omhs. My subwofer bridged as you show. My sbwoofer is 150watt rms at 8 omhs but I will connect a resistance 50watt of 8ohms parallel. will I have a problem?
Question - it looks like on the end of you wires you have a heat shrink that says monster that shrinks over main cable but then splits into two - where can you get those- thanks in advance
Cool. Now how would I set up a garage system with a Powermax 100A converter, Pioneer DX975 amp, JVC 710BT HU, 4 speakers and 1 sub?!
At 8:40 is this wiring 4 ohm door speakers parallel to the amp making the final load 2 ohms at the amp?
I have the 4 speaker with sub setup. Is it easier to add a line converter for the sub or the 5 channel bridged setup?
Is running after market tweeters to after market pioneer head deck bad? Is there a way to install them with out using an amp ? Maybe buying some with crossover ?
Was wondering what i should get to power my 08 Acura TSX with navigation. I want more power to doors and 6x9s. Have total of 8 speakers 2 tweets 4 6.5 and 2 6x9s and am debating on adding 1 jlaudio 10 in future. What is best amp channel and wattage to power all of it. I'm upgrading speaker from stock to JBL. Factory amp isn't loud enough
So 10 speakers total. You can either use multiple 4-5 channel amps, or use one 4-5 channel amp and wire the the front speakers and tweeters to the head unit
When you do parallel, do you half the wattage to each speaker?
And would each channel then have 8 ohms of resistance due to two 4 ohm speakers?
Heys guys, thanks for the awsome video, what if you fit 4 speakers and 2 subwoofers ? And if you connect your speakers to your amp is it not gonna blown up fuse/ relay since we connecting 2 postive/ live cables ( one from amp and the other from head unit ) to each other ?
Any help/ answer is much appreciated.
Thanks in advance

If i have a single rca output from my stereo, and want to connect both my rear speakers and sub in the truck through a four channel amp, how to do that.. My front speakers will be run directly by car stereo's inbuilt amp.
Even if i use a Y splitter RCA, i won't be able to control sub and rear speakers volume separately. Is there any way to do this?
Do these amplifier have inbuilt crossover which divides frequency between subs and high frequency speaker
Hey. Need some help with an amplifier. It is a 4 channel amp that can be bridged to 2x240w, right. So if I add 2 independent speakers to another 2 free channels, how will the power be distributed? Do I lose that 240w from a sub and that will be shared to those other channels?
Hi great video. Big questions:
1. How do i now the stock output in watts of my car radio?
2. If the stock system has 4x 25watts speakers, does it mean that the radio output is 200w?
3. Does the output of the amplifier change in different radios? (Using the same amp)
1. Tough to tell, you can refer to your car manual or call the manufacturer
2. Yes each channel is getting 25W
Is it possible the wiring was changed and needs adjusting?
at 6:30 the chart also says 4 ohms stereo. how do u know it is the 2 ohm rating. I see the 2 ohm right below where it says 4 ohm stereo but i dont see anything about 2 ohm only being for bridged setups
Hi, this is a great video. Thanks for posting it. I do have a question. I’m installing a new 5 channel amp in my 2021 Toyota 4Runner with JBL. I know how to connect everything else but I’m not sure how to connect the two tweeters, front doors, rear passenger doors and rear tailgate speakers. Eight speakers total. The dash tweeters and front door speakers are wired in parallel stock. The rear passenger and rear tailgate speakers are wired in series stock. I’m not sure how to connect the tweeters and rear tailgate speakers to the new amp. I hope you can help me out. I’m a subscriber. Thanks!
I’m trying to grasp my mind around connecting a subwoofer to a 5 channel amp. To connect a subwoofer to the amp do I just plug into the rca outputs on the back of the amp, and connect the bare wire of the other end of the rca cables into the sub?
Wayyy better than the one Crutchfield made this explains everything. Thank You!
Glad it helped!
What about on early 2000 Mercedes where the speakers are directly connected to the amplifier in the trunk and not behind the head unit?
How does installing it happen do you have a video on that set up?
