In life I've come to realize that you can do everything right, follow all the steps, live by the rules and principles of the game but you will still get people who'll mistreat you. My advice to sis Vathiswa is to focus on her craft, do right by herself & everything will fall into its own place. Every dog has its days 🤞
People like to cloning. When you don't blindly follow, raise pertinent issues, without fear or favour; you unsettle the modus operandi which freaks them out. It's a challenge to be principled because you will not "fit in" or be the "liked" in any space where ethics and ethical conduct is not honoured. Strong people are easy targets for weak leadership!
@@sibongisenisakhele3114 I hear you, you make some valuable important points. But at some point one needs to do a deep self introspection after so many unfortunate turn of events one has to ask themselves WHO IS THE COMMON DENOMINATOR? & ask themselves honestly, WHAT ARE THE CHANCES THAT EVERYONE is at fault but me? What is it about me that attracts these certain situations that I clearly don't like?.
@@sinazomajambe6559 this is true, sometimes you need to do some self introspection..I think the host almost told her this but he couldn’t because of how she defends herself.I was this person until I got a new job this year and my manager helped me an I can say I’m better now .She is an amazing actress but she must stop expecting people to be angels and she does have valid points to some extend but there’s a pattern here.Let her have her own production company and let’s talk after that
I could listen to her all day. She is a great storyteller. I usually avoid listening to long interviews but I really enjoyed this one. Thank you David for this interview. You are a great host, with a great sense of humor.
This industry is still like this if not worse now. I feel sorry for females in this industry 😕 they sexualise everything and act like a person is crazy when they fight for their rights.
I named my daughter after mam "Vava" little did I know she's this strong willed. Exactly like my baby and she's 13 years old now 🥰. Ain't nobody gonna silent her
I loved her since was a news reader at Metro. Loved her voice. First of all the good thing is Vatiswa has recipients she's not scared in her book to mention so and so by names. What I got here is that people in the media industry sleep their way up, jobs yes are for the qualified and the willing. Clearly when she turned that guy down someone else agreed to his terms and got a job and I'm quite sure it's something that still happens even this day and age😏
I love how she spoke of a psychological audit for people in power! Love it. There is way too much injustice that we allow to happen in the name of "keeping the peace", and oh how much that has cost us. Im proud of her, mighty proud. We wish her a happy ending ❤️
She speaks so well...I thought I love the actor but I love her the voice ...she's so brilliant I can't believe this is the same Miriam from Home Affairs
I remember how I used to love listening to sis Vathiswa on Highveld stereo when I was growing up. That's when the seed of being a news anchor was planted in me and this podcast just reminded me of my first love. Siyabonga David for inviting her, looking forward to part 2...
David has a gift, you make your guests feel at home. You are interested in the story and that’s how you have 5 hour interview and they feel like an hour.
Love love love her, she is a living legend 🥺 that role on home affairs was a hit and I love how she articulates herself, enjoyed the interview 🥰 waiting for part 2
The story of my life. King David, she is the 'Madikizela' type that does not even mind the sacrifices because principle supercedes temporary gain and comfort.
I really find it annoying how people water down Vatiswa's energy to always stand for what is fair and against injustices in the name of ''playing devil's advocate.'' There is always an expectation that those who have been treated unfairly and unjustly must be the ones who become the BIGGER PERSONS by letting things go or walk away. It sets a wrong precedent because once you allow disrespect from superiors, they'll keep testing your boundaries to a point of no return. How the hell does a superior insist on a meeting outside office buildings when the issues raised are about about allowing that nonsense of ''a coffee and dinner session at her own private residence?'' Won't we turn around and say ''but what were you expecting? Wena aya kwini?''
She had a lot of success, she does not give herself credit. Her courage, going and chasing what she wants, standing up for herself. She has a lot of success. Her book sounds like ups and downs of her life.. And it's life. I love how real she is. Not afraid of anything.. Big up to you.. Great relationship between her and David. I love how you Call her out David.. Diva moments 🤣🤣, brilliant interview thank you..
Damn, I can't believe I missed this when it came out. I think she is telling the truth about the show business: I remember being an extra in Scandal 2007 or 2008, Shona Ferguson didn't even want to greet us as extras. This business is viscious & the packing order is so vivid once you are part of it. The sad thing is, it is attracting billions but unfortunately it is not what is seems.
KingDavid Thank you. Last night I slept 1am watching this emotionally draining interview. Courageous Sista Vatiswa Ndara. Today I bought online her Book. Out of RESPECT and to Support an amazingly talented actress. I look forward to reading and sharing it. Congratulations. Great Interview Kgosi Davita!
That part about uMam’ Grootboom gave me chills! That’s amazing. Bra Dave, this podcast has been recommended to me for so long & I’ve been avoiding it.😫 I’m so happy I clicked on it. You’re brilliant!
Ok now I understand the “diva” component coz she is coming from Diaspora…I’ve been away from home for more than 20yrs & I can now relate to her “difficult-ness”. Things that look simple & normal to everyone at home is difficult for some of us who have lived in the white communities to adapt to…things like having your own accommodation with privacy is a basic thing for us from Diaspora but not a big deal to people at home. Secondly, when you say NO it’s acceptable & you don’t have to explain yourself BUT at home that is bezoar … when she said take me to the airport they should have just done that coz that is exactly how we operate in Diaspora. Good luck to her trying to work with Africans living in Africa 😢😮😊
Capital Radio started in Port St John just up the hill from my Aunts back yard, and where you went to the station premises, the ocean view was MAJESTIC. My Aunts ex-husband was a Technician there, & they moved to eMzimkhulu (former Transkei, now part of KZN), then moved elsewhere, I cant recall where to.
Hey, I've watched this interview twice and I hear a lot of me in that interview. In most of the cases, if not all, I would have responded in the ways that she did. I basically think she knows her story and she respects herself. Big up sis Vatiswa👍
“ I can't stand injustice” felt that! Cc Vathiswa and David represents two types of employees in the corporate space. And trust me, one like Vathiswa experiences a lot of pain and betrayal!
SisVathiswa I miss you on the screen. You one of my best talented noo wait SuperTALENTED woman, loved you even more when you stood up for what you deserve, you brave power too you. Wish you the bast uzovuka ukuthole okukfanele to this dirty greedy industry.
I live miss ndara’s reality in cooperate organization. I feel like ppl feel intimidated by my energy of knowing what’s fair and just. Not making me immune to my own mistakes and wrongs.
What I have learnt from Ou' Sis Vatiswa's story is no matter how hard you think you've got life figured out, it always has a way of doing its weird thing. But on the optimistic side of things I love her zeal and passion to still strive and look beyond the situations that altered her point of direction, not ever did it shift her focus to still keep on trying regardless of how hard she got knocked down by the countless life events. The point is keep on keeping on regardless how crazy the outside might see you.
Great interview! I completely understand Mam V. She just wished people were ethical. Same struggle, same outcome. And no, the silence empowers the perpetrators. Aluta Continua!
I have watched this entire interview, and I have enjoyed how tactful David Mashabela is in asking questions. The ending is also superb. What this interview has thought me is that some battles are not worth fighting.
@Vatiswa, most times if you rubb people the wrong way is because they cannot stand the power of your light, so your confidence makes them uneasy, your presence irritate the, your spirit is so powerful that they cannot stand you. I have the same challenge, but now because I am happy with who I am, I don't worry anymore, used to but not anymore. Love you sis. 🥰😘
Beautiful Story. this Child from Middleburg in EC goes to England and finds her self in Aberdeen... in England... While in South Africa in the EC there is a Small town called Aberdeen which is 164KM from Middleburg....
The is nothing wrong with Vatiswa Ndara ..She stands her ground many people don't like that !!!

She's beautiful, she nailed her character ku Homeaffairs
I love this Lady. Its sad to hear how the industry treated her.

Was thinking of tht as am listening 😂
She speaks so well...I thought I love the actor but I love her the voice ...she's so brilliant I can't believe this is the same Miriam from Home Affairs
Lol..she acted that Miriam part so well and made it so believable.
I must read this book. It took me years to know that Vathiswa on Radio and Vathiswa on TV is the same person.
What's the name of the book.... please guy's

So true some people in power are such broken individuals and narcissists 🤞🏾
They are basically dictators, they want to compete with their stuff members and some are very petty and vindictive.
He voice is very soothing.
I miss the days of old radio...Capital radio, Radio Bop, Thohoyandou, RPN, Radio_5...the whole lot...South Africa was once great...

The story of my life. King David, she is the 'Madikizela' type that does not even mind the sacrifices because principle supercedes temporary gain and comfort.
Hence the "I believe her" movement, it's bcos of how traumatic stories from victims were dismissed in the past 💔
I like the manner in which David conducts this interviews....very impressive
Mashabela studios are really cool I must say. Thanks king for building a home for every kasi black child.
