Very important observation from Kofi, Sony are an 'ecosystem' company with regards to cameras. Yes, you would expect the Burano to look superior to the FX6/3/30, but they have to have the same colour profile, so you can interchange and use the Sony line-up together, grade 'similar' and mix and match on multi-cam shoots. I personally an in said ecosystem, and it works.
I think you nailed something with your comment about how when certain global shutter options became more affordable on the consumer market that we somehow have made that the benchmark for rolling shutter. People forget rolling shutter has been around a lot longer in film than global shutter and minimizing its affects are a part of what makes a good cinematographer/DP. Beyond that, most people don't realize you really only need global shutter or even an ultra low low latency camera/sensor when filming very high speed action. The generic "golf swing" or trusted "helicopter blade" wobbles are often fine in the real world with rolling shutter as are most short motion shots because the focus isn't typically on them long enough to matter. Global shutter systems really shine with continuous motion shots where there is a constant rolling shutter affect that would otherwise draw attention away from the focus of the shot. But thanks to UA-cam, most people these days think they need a global shutter to perfect their whip pan transitions... hahaha
you know what...I have watched a few of these videos....my personal take on image quality....it is now almost a question of taste...just about any 10 bit image will produce a quality shot...heck the old GH5 10bit produces a gread image...I think going forward it is a matter of taste...even noise can be a quality depending on the look you are going after..

Rolling shutter wobble doesn’t only affect the image when you’re whiping it side to side, it also ruins slow motion footage because the wobbles are more exaggerated and pronounced. No one talks about that aspect of rolling shutter wobble.
Have you had a chance to compare the Burano to A9III? Totally different cameras, but images out of the A9III look more cinematic, even through it should be the other way around.
Honestly I've never cared about rolling shutter vs global shutter ... unless it's virtual production. But that type of budget means a global shutter camera rental is also in the budget.
That’s kinda exactly what I was trying to get at, like if you KNOW you want a faster read out camera, there’s already one that exists, well 3, the Burano isn’t the Sony Raptor, or Sony Komodo which I guess because they’re the same price everyone compares the two, if you’re willing to have a $25,000 camera , IR cut filters comparatively cost around the price to give say a red Raptor XLR audio which it doesn’t have immediately, and requires a module you have to buy, i agree
I think Sony has been dropping the ball lately on the FX/Cinema line. The FX3 is arguably one of their best products.
