Glad it helped! It can be tricky dialing in a new skimmer. Patience and finesse are key. We do love that skimmer and feel it is worth every penny. Thank you for watching!
Bulk reef supply reviews said > The skimmer pump is rated at 18W. In fact, it consumes about 58W. It is very inefficient comparing to DC pump skimmers. Really do not understand that claim after all these years? I e-mailed them twice to ask and never a reply.
@@houseofsharpeis9366 I will say this it is one of the MOST efficient skimmer have ever owned. The extra swirling to the top was ingenious of Nyos to design. Only thing wish mine had not been broken and all routing chips from a dule router bit.
I got some queries hope you can help I am using the nyos 160 quantum but the issue is it keep overflowing and I try running but no use for my new setup thank Any advice hope you can give me some suggestions Thanks in advance
I have noticed once in a while that when I unplug the skimmer to clean the collection cup that the pump does not generate bubbles when plugged back in because the air tube that goes from the silencer to the nozzle fills with water. so what I do is slowly lift the skimmer out of the water so the water can drain out of the air hose to the nozzle and then the bubbles can be generated again. Hope that helps! Thank you for watching!
Thanks for this vid. Do you know if there’s room in the collection cup’s bottom to install a small 3/8” OD drain outlet? I’m trying to decide between this Nyos and and a Simplicity 120...id’ like the ability to drain skimmate into my separate reservoir (with auto shutoff float sensor).
@@LiveAquariacom The 120 does not have an drain outlet on the cup...you are confused with the larger models. Same question...what is the best way to mod the 120 cup for drainage? This is the only thing keeping the 120 model from being perfect.
Bro looks like Keanu Reefs get it xD
Thank you very much for this video! It was extremely helpful I was so confused lol. But now she’s running perfect.

It has a drain outlet that you can hook a hose up to. This is a great skimmer that we use in house on several of our display tanks.

NT Had the 240 and was quite undersized for what they rated it for.
