Gerber toilet flapper problem

i have your exact set-up. just ordered my flapper. i'm just worried that the old one is so hard i might not be able to slip the sides off. Also, I have no tablets in my tank and mine eroded pretty fast so I think it will do that no matter.

You might have to replace the fill valve and/or change the length of the chain attached to the flapper & handle.
