FWIW The (mostly) black one isn't the MkII... it's an actual GTE race car. The white one is a MkII. The headlamps are the biggest giveaway.

@@corsamode Balance of Power knocked the edge off the exhaust note of the WEC car, sounded tame, like a muted trumpet. This car sounds raw like the road car but much louder. And the road car isn't quiet at all. I think the mellifluous VR6 makes this race car sound like a bag of hammers but sound isn't the issue in a race car. GTR sounds remind me of a giant vacuum cleaner

I think Europe learned its lesson after Ford won La Mans four years in a row in the 1960's. So, after Ford won La Mans again in 2016, the FIA forced a limit on the Ford GT turbos and also mandated a 20kg of weight increase ..rules mandated to benefit European manufactures like Ferrari, Maserati and Porsche ..why would Ford want to go back just to be penalized for having a better car.
