@@colledge9627 While it was designed in Michigan, every Ford GT is built by Multimatic in Markham Ontario Canada. and that will continue until the car finishes its run for 2022.
While a V8 would add appeal, it wouldn't really make sense in terms of what the car was designed for. The V6 makes more than enough power. In fact the LeMans winning car had to have it's power output reduced by over 100 hp compared to the road car, to meet balance of performance.
The V6 was a huge mistake and pretty much every conversation about this car turns into "should have had a V8". This car was a marketing exercise, and on that level it was a big letdown.

He already bought a 1st gen Ford GT.. Deep down he loves American cars but can't bring himself to admit it. He probably tried to order a 2nd gen but was denied by Ford due to his anti-American antics. Some Brits will forever be butthurt about the Revolutionary War I suppose lol...
The Ford GT is my favorite car😍😍😍😍
Just a reminder that the Ford GT was built by a Company called Multimatic near Toronto and that it was tested and refined at a track west of Ottawa called Calabogie Motorsports park...
Most beautiful and unique looking modern super car!
I actually like the v6, and it’s definitely proven itself at le mans
All thr people who say it sounds bad have never actually heard one in person. It sounds like a velociraptor. It also doesn't just sound loud like most European cars.
The evil has landed by queens of the stone age for anyone wondering
Knew the song sounded familiar. I recognized it from Forza Horizon 4.
Jeremy hates us americans but he does love some of our cars
No he does not. He is utterly ignorant.
I can’t blame him, I hate us too most of the time
@@ImagineBaggins Most individuals who hate themselves seek professional help. May want to find a local shrink. You are the reason haters hate. I hear Finland is looking for well rounded individuals who kick puppies for sport.
I think he loves Americans, its just his humour.
the world hates americans, at least most of..
Imagine how fast it could go around the track with a straight man driving!
REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
The car is not only a work of engineering art, its been built up to. With the GT40s in the 60s, then to the remake in 2005. The GT has a history that makes the car beautiful. It's built on years of knowledge and ideas. It's honestly one of the finest pieces of engineering in the world. There are certainly cars that are faster and better, no doubt, but the GT was meant to stand for the Ford name. And it does.
If the design of the exterior is what excites you about this car, then just know that would not be able to look like this with a V8. Won't fit and it's too heavy. I'll take "this" car, with the V6.
Now, when the next version of the GT comes around, well that's a different story.
Not "too heavy" at all. TT V6 is just as heavy, maybe even heavier than an NA V8.
@@sanctorum21 You gonna tell me that the EcoBoost V6 is heavier than the Supercharged V8 in the previous GT? Show me proof
@@queefreak666 Where did I say that a modern V6 is lighter than an OLD V8? Stop trying to make shitty strawman arguments when you are WELL AWARE of the point I'm making.
Take a V6 and a comparable V8, now add 2 turbos to the V6 and tell me that a V6 is lighter than a V8.
I think it was more due to the fact that if they had put a V8 it wouldve affected the design of the car. The car was designed for aerodynamics.i remember on a documentary of the Ford gt they said that they decided on a V6 because they wouldn't have been able to get the aero shape they wanted with a V8....I just cant stand Europeans, they for years say that Americans cant build a "proper" V6 because theyre obsessed with building smaller engines with a higher output...we built a car with a v6 that WON LEMANS!!! And all they can do is criticize it and say it wouldve been better had there been a big V8... they, no matter what will ever give us our due.. but that's kool because when we put our mind to it we ve accomplished anything we ve set out to do...
@@sanctorum21 Take the weight of a Twin Turbo 3.5 litre V6 of 440lbs and compare it to the weight of a 3.5 litre V8. Oh that's not fair because "Turbo". Ok, now we have to increase the displacement to say, 5.0 litres from the 445lb Coyote V8 to level the playing field. But wait, the Coyote only has about 450hp/420ft-lbs and the V6 has 647hp/550ft-lbs, what are we going to do? Ok, now add turbos or a supercharger to that Coyote and tell me how big it is and how much it weighs. I doubt if Ford is gonna put a McLaren or Ferrari V8 in the GT
The right driver would have done better...the car didn't look like it was pushed to its limits, rather the limits of the drivers ability and trust in the car
Does it come in Black..
Yes, i believe theres a carbon edition
@@johnkenley4687 it's a joke because Henry ford is supposed to have said about the model t you can have it in any colour as long as it's black

Fact.
What episode is this. I love this show
Why can't i get prime subscription using Google pay anymore Amazon?
This V6 sounds pretty good, IMO. Sounds a lot like the Porsches I hear at the track, except it doesn't rev as high as, say, a GT3.
If anybody pay 1million for a v6 they need be slapped . It’s to expensive for a Ford
@@carguy1697 before you slap anyone, make sure you learn english first
It doesnt sound like a Porsche at all
Yeah it does sound very good, I never understood the hate on ecoboost
@@AB-fr2ei I've heard plenty at full song at the track, and driven a couple there as well, so i know what I heard.
It's unfortunate the 'track' this is tested on sucks.
It’s better then the track you own
Yeah, it's not dumbfucking oval ..... what a shame.
You're expecting a special tarmac like the one from F1 approved tracks from an used airstrip huh? Funny
car doesn't have rear wheel steering, it has nothing on the cars with 600+ hp that do...so, it's track days are back 10 years ago, before even P1.
Agreed
he is wearing half decent jeans at last. only half
lol
Wtf was James May wearing?🤣
I will probably always miss these guys
Most beautiful and under appreciated car ever
It still has the very prettiest overhead view of any car I know. Simply gorgeous. Agree with the V8 though, or even better NA V10...
Best thing to come out of the USA since.... well ever...
Not made in murica , mostly German engineering
@@colledge9627 probably why is so good
Btw I love ford's and my daily it's a actually a focus
@@colledge9627 😂🤦🏻♂️
@@colledge9627 While it was designed in Michigan, every Ford GT is built by Multimatic in Markham Ontario Canada. and that will continue until the car finishes its run for 2022.
While a V8 would add appeal, it wouldn't really make sense in terms of what the car was designed for. The V6 makes more than enough power. In fact the LeMans winning car had to have it's power output reduced by over 100 hp compared to the road car, to meet balance of performance.
What was that famous quote? Adding power makes you faster on the straights; subtracting weight makes you faster everywhere
@@joelf1355 I believe that was from the chap that created lotus (the car company)
@@Four-S Colin Chapman was the founder of lotus
The V6 was a huge mistake and pretty much every conversation about this car turns into "should have had a V8". This car was a marketing exercise, and on that level it was a big letdown.
@@taylorc2542 winning Le Mans was a marketing exercise, and they succeeded at that
Funny how they have always given Hammond crap for wanting to be American and then watch him gush over American vehicles.
i would LOVE to take one of these, and swap in the v8 that was in the 2020 gt500, and is going to come in the 3rd gen raptor. i really wanna see how differently it would perform and how much better it would sound
I think it sounds fine and it looks amazing... Those flying buttresses are so elegant
I’d like to see Jeremy test drive the new corvette

This thing sounds like an E-type V12!
Please don't insult a master piece that the e type is. No doubt gt40 is a nice car, but this degraded versions sound track is nowhere near similar to that of the roaring V12 the E-type host's.
@@khar_khuwa It sounds a lot more dignified and sophisticated than the old GT.
And the E-Type V12 never really got to roar, considering it went on sale pretty much right as the gas crunch and stupid emissions stuff happened.
