It starts off with Amy's final boss because it's in the same episode where they start Big's story. Prepare yourselves for a montage of endless rage.

Luigi number 1 actually I’d switch Robotnik and Bowser around. Robotnik has: blown up half the moon, threatened to shoot a 12 year old girl in the face for a mystical rock, unleashed a mutated, powerful Chao onto a city, almost blew up a city, almost dropped the sun onto the whole planet to kill everyone and puts animals in robots. What has browser done? Kidnapped a girl.

The main issue is that the game never communicates that to the player as far as I remember (Arin is infamous for not reading tutorials).

You'd think they would've google how to catch Froggy and to press down on Control Stick(and I don't mean click it) to autocatch him, but I guess after the guide they were using failed to tell them that emerald shards in Knuckles's campaign are completely random, they just refused.
It hurts to see Arin in this much pain.

Literally still one of my favorite play-throughs to have playing in the background while I do things. It has also led to many awkward moments when people walk in on me just randomly bursting into laughter like I’m crazy.
Favorite scenario this causes:
Someone then asking: “what are you laughing at?”
Me: “watching a grown ass man struggle to catch a frog as a large purple cat.”
Someone: “...” (aka Fred)

Lots of people giving shit about Arin not being able to press the button to catch froggy, but this game is literally over 15 years old and the only walkthrough they mention by name is one that was written when the game came out and it was for a different stage. Unless they were looking specifically for hints on how to catch that dang frog, he'd never have known about that button lol.
also, who in their right mind would think that fishing for an hour at a time in a game about going fast and running is a good idea for a 'fun minigame'?
If Ross made a fishing game, it would also torture Arin.

I always thought the Big the Cat section was impossibly hard because of Game Grumps’ rough time with it, but upon replaying it, Arin is just an idiot, lol.
When Froggy nibbles the bait, you’re supposed to hold the down button until Froggy bites and the reeling section begins. This isn’t some secret trick that players have to work out on their own, either, it’s in the instruction section in the game. When I played it, I had a little trouble in Twinkle Park and decided to read the instructions and saw that little trick. After that, I breezed through Big’s story, only having minor trouble against Chaos 6.
So it raises the question, how much of Game Grumps’ problems with Sonic stems not from the game being bad, but from Eren being an absolute idiot?
I hate to tell you that this is not the first time someone has asked this question. In fact, due to Arin's very grumpy way of expressing his opinions and the Sonic fandom's... extremely normal attitude towards their favourite game series, Arin's opinions on Sonic games have generated A LOT of angry discourse between Sonic fans, Grumps fans and everyone in between. About whether Arin is fairly criticising the games, whether he is just bad at them, whether he is intentionally trying to make them look worse than they are, whether he secretly LOVES sonic but is embarrassed to be seen as a Sonic fan, and so on and so on, lol. People having opinions about games on the internet sure does cause a lot of people to get extremely, extremely angry
Did anyone know that the only way to have Froggy into bite mode at the first shot is to hold the analog stick down? I tried and it works.

This is hilarious and all, but I have to wonder why they didn't simply, uhm, look up how to catch Froggy, considering they've looked up how to do other shlt!
Were they like "OH THIS'LL BE GREAT FOR CONTENT UHUH!!" off-camera or something!? Probably, 'cause even as a kid playing this, I would press buttons and catch Froggy in, like, three tries or less!
Turns out, from what I remember, you have to press down on the D-pad when he nibbles on the lure to catch him,
After watching this for like the 5th time out of boredom... It hit me, me at 7 years old kicked that green frog bastard's ass, mainly because i got lucky af 😂😂😂, that fuckin frog is a menace

Out of curiosity can any sonic fans tell me, what if anything was arin doing wrong during the fishing? It serms pretty simple so it seems hard to believe arin would miss something but then again arins known for that so who knows
Apparently you have to press a couple buttons once Froggy is nibbling, to automatically start reeling him in. Which Arin didn't know.
Now granted, the game didn't tell him that, but you'd think he'd have looked that up after so much pain.

Benjamin Phelps as a kid I hated Amy’s stages. Getting chased made me anxious. I agree with Arin that she does look like she’s wearing a diaper. Also, I think sonic’s sky deck was the stage that was most infuriating.
