Sir, I'm glad YOU got yours installed without an issue. I'm not the only one with the issue that I was having. As a matter of fact, I say was, because just recently I decided to replace the triggers with older ones from I don't know which JDM but that worked. And the reason I tried it was because someone that was having the same issue recommended I try that. It worked, so now both triggers can be pressed down. Have fun with your kit!
It's honestly not bad for the click addicts lol. Mine needs a fix though so I'm hoping extremerate will be able to help. Or if they send the replacement hopefully that one will work out.
If your L2 and R2 buttons aren't clicking after you pop in the little clear pieces, I recommend you use a super old PS4 controller's L2 and R2 buttons. I assume gen 1 for example. It worked perfectly for me
To fix the R2 and L2 buttons not clicking I identified that the rubber pieces were too big for jdm-055 controllers so I shaved a bit off the flat side of the rubber so it didn't click the button unless the trigger was pressed. And to get it to stay in the L2 and R2 triggers I burned the part of the rubber piece where the ridges are supposed to fit into the trigger button and it hardened and stayed np
I found the reason for the problem people seem to be having that their R2 & L2 got stuck, is that the clear plastic that you put inside the trigger appears to be not compatible with all the trigger buttons on the ps4 controller, so the clear plastic is not thoroughly flushed into the trigger, so either they are not clicking right or they got stuck, so whenever you're in-game it will just always be pressed. I found this video on which triggers are compatible and which aren't ; ua-cam.com/video/6J0_uWWmpU4/v-deo.html .The comparison for the trigger buttons starts at 14:07 Hope ExtremeRate will see this. Thanks !
Out off the 3 different triggers if you have the one in the middle 14:07 video, you have to mod the clear plastic insert. If you look where the clear plastic insert sit on the trigger the one on the left has a big half circle shape, the middle one has a small half circle shape and the one on the right is a rectangle shape, pause the video and take a look. Good luck
I had the same issue with L2, it was just stuck and then it stopped working, returned that one and got a replacement and same issue but now both triggers were acting up, after messing with it for a while I found the solution, I cut the bottom portion that connect the little tail on L2 and R2 if it makes any sense, after that the triggers worked fine and no more sticky triggers I wish I could put a picture here. Great video super detailed and zoomed in perfectly
Hey man thanks for the kind words. I think I know what you mean by the little tail. Which I did cut? Unless I don't know what you mean. But im gonna be sending a video to them of the problem. They're waiting for me to send it. I'm glad you got yours working!
Hey what’s up men I’m about to buy this kit and I’m trying to trouble shoot all issues before install it, are you talking about the “U” shape that’s right under his index finger in the minute 8:42? So instead of it being a “U” shape we cut the top part and is just going to look something like this “| |” ? I hope you understand what I was trying to ask lol
@@nicolaschavess Oh I see what you mean. I haven't seen or heard about cutting it. Someone mentioned that I should do some sanding but I didn't do it because I feel like the product shouldn't require me to do that. I had been sent a 2nd kit but the result was the same. So I think I'm going to buy their triggers and see if that works.
I cut the long rectangle at L2 and R2. Thus the clicky keys work. At the control cross and the buttons I left the rubber, which the two attached to each. However, you have to cut out the holes first, which is very easy, since they are practically given.
@@im.a.caveman I can also confirm this, i modded the see trough plastic stuff now and my R2, L2 is working dit not make any cuts on the Original triggers.
I really enjoy the clicky kit for my DS4. The only issue I've run into is the fitment of the rubber grommets for the d-pad/face buttons and the plastic grommets for the bumpers and triggers. If you purchase the extreme rate replacement triggers, bumpers, d-pad, and face button kit, the clicky kit works perfectly. If you install the clicky kit on the stock components, you will have issues, so please keep that in mind. I guess Extreme Rate designed the rubber and plastic grommets to fit their aftermarket kit specifically because the fitment of each grommet to its respective component is a tight, snug fit. The fitment for the stock components is loose and the the grommets come out of place, especially the d-pad and face buttons. The only components from the stock fit that were perfect are the bumpers. The L2/R2 triggers were falling out of place, and I had the damnest time attaching them to the motherboard. The functionality of the two controllers is completely different but functional.
Hi idk if you'll see this bc its been a while but what you're saying is to buy the clicky kit and as well purchase the full replacement buttons kit from them that comes with bumper, triggers, dpad, action buttons, touchpad, etc. and it will work better correct? Thanks!
Are the buttons durable enough to undergo mashing and not get damaged? Cause rubber pad wear out really fast.. And can i just use the regular d pad instead of the seperated one? It comes handy in certain situations of movement.. I use mishimas in tekken so.. I really abuse the pads
Had to file down the faces of the plastic inserts to give it enough room to work without constantly pressing the trigger by default. Hope this helps anyone with the same issue!
Everything for me was working great till one of the blue pieces came off by a slight touch I put all 3 buttons except R2 I got a defective kit I'm still gonna send it back and try again but this video definitely helped a lot
