My local Walmart has been getting in some truly lovely plants. But it's criminal how they stick them in a corner and don't water them. It's like wading thru a battlefield of dying soldiers to rescue the yet undead .

@@spacecaseandherplants Timing there is everything. I bought this most beautiful little dieffenbachia there for only $4. It's soil was super dry, but it's leaves still vibrant. Loved it so much, I went back to rescue another, 4 days later. It had not been watered, so was pretty beat up, but for $4, gave it a whirl. It's been a couple of weeks now, plant #1 is doing great, but the most recent rescue is on its last leaf, despite the same level of care. ☹️🌱 But I won't bin it until it's totally dead.

To be fair, you could've gotten that plant for less than half that price if you hadn't gotten the white pot! I've bought a few times from Planterina, but I ONLY shop sales and bundles! Also, Planterina has no middle man, that's why their prices are what they are!! I watch her videos and she states it in many of her videos! I would def ONLY shop sales!!

Planterina was very affordable when they first opened. They've gotten quite a bit more expensive especially during mid and late 2020. The quality is still there though. Definitely worth shopping sales and only grow pots. Adding the pottery really brings the price up

I’ve purchased from Planterina as well and the plant was definitely overpriced. I didn’t realize it until a week later I found the exact same plant for almost 60% less at a local nursery 😑. Then, when the plant arrived from the Planterina greenhouse, it was in pieces! I couldn’t believe it. I contacted them and they did replace it but, when the second one arrived, it was, again, in pieces. It seemed as though they didn’t even bother to pack the plant.
After that experience, I said I would never buy from Planterina ever again.

I have bought 4 times from Planterina because I can only buy online at the moment. Yes, they are overpriced but if you get one of those box bundles AND you do it when they have one of those 60% off offers it comes down to a reasonable price. It will be almost guaranteed that they will be super well packed, healthy and beautiful. Also buy only with grow pots. Having said that, I ve been trying other online sellers and yes Ive found some great deals but also some great duds too. So if there is a plant that I want to make sure will be big and luscious I’ll still go with Planterina (with coupons) But yeah look around first, of course.

It looks to me that you only have one Cebu Blue and its the one that you bought from Planterina. You got what you paid for. The plant is hard to come by and the other two that you held up look like just Epipremnum pinnatum and not Epipremnum pinnatum cebu blue! Lots of vendors miss label the plant and call it cebu blue but it is not. So you might think Planterina is over priced but its not. Its a fair price for the plant you got and its the only complany that didnt lie to you about what you are buying.

I ordered a philodendron Brazil from Planterina and one from another online store in California for a little less money. They were similar sizes, which were smaller than I thought they'd be. The plant from Planterina was in the usual fantastic condition, the one from California was infested with fungus nats that I'm still struggling to get rid of. Long story to make the point that I will still buy from Planterina, but I won't ever spend over $40 for any plant from any store.

Crappy little plants, not rooted well, die soon after receipt. (Granted they give you your money back) I think this is a case of a business that Grew too fast for it’s ability to keep up with demand. This is a pricey experiment for you, but I loved it! I actually think this is a great idea for a video. Order the same plant from three places and compare! I was fortunate enough to get the giant basket two years ago at a Home Depot. I repotted it this year. My only bummer about this plant in general is that it makes very long leafless vines. I'm sure that could be my environment but I want it to look better! Ha. On the bright side, the leafless nodes propagate pretty easily in a prop box. About 80% of them make roots and leaves which is a decent success.

If you have long vines without leaves and it's growing lots of aerial roots, it needs trellises or a moss poke to grow on. If you give it a pike ir even a wooden plant to grow up on those aerial roots will attach to it and will start to put out leaves. There are a lot of videos showing how to do this.

I have lost four of those Cebu's. One was due to USPS and the vendor gave me my money back without asking for it. I purchased my 4th and last plant and it is about 6 feet long from Etsy. While I absolutely champion purchasing from small businesses, (which the gov't defines as up to 1500 employees, 🙄) if that small business practices involve taking advantage of their viewership by price gouging the hell out of them, why should we continue to support that?
I get where you're coming from about the unfair comparisons, and I think you're 100% correct about that, but there's no way I'm shelling out $60 over market value for a China pot with a small, easily propagated plant. Also, this is just one example of their offerings.
It leaves me distrustful of Planterina, whoever and whatever that is, and sullies Amanda (whom I love and adore and hope she's taking care of her personal mental health) because she benefits from these shady practices, whether or not she's in direct control of those decisions. I'd rather purchase from an Etsy seller who got the plant from big box to resell and needs those profits to feed her family, if that made up narrative even holds any weight.
With all that said, each of us should be able to spend our money wherever we want without being shamed, but you can see how a little knowledge goes a long way in deciding what is a "fair" or "good" price.

I had HORRIBLE luck with Planterina the one and only time I ordered from them. It took three weeks to ship out, and when I got them they were packaged horribly. One of them was coming out of the pot and damaged. The other one had completely come out of the pot and none of the plants in the pot had roots. I contacted them, and they were good about getting back to me and sending replacement plants. But the replacement plants they sent me were packaged horribly again. One of them died in transit, and the other one I had to rehab. I was disappointed by the size of all of them for the price I paid. I swear by Bros with Hoes though!!

Planterina seems to be very hit and miss. I've purchased very good plants and very bad plants! I had a plant arrive with absolutely no roots in really bad shape. Thank you for sharing your experience and thank you so much for watching!

This just pooped up in my feed, I bought a Hoya retusa from planterina for $175 don’t ask me why I did that, then right after I bought it she reduced them to $150. Then like a couple weeks after I got it I started seeing them at plant shops for like $40 and they were almost as big. I will never do that again, I don’t even like ordering plants online.

I hate when something I bought full price gets marked down soon after! I hope your plant arrived in good shape at least! Thank you so much for watching!

Please be smart! If you will go shopping for groceries in a big supermarket there they have plant nursery ...so you can buy rare & healthy very chiply sold houseplants .

I recently made the mistake of buying from planterina. As a fan of the channel, I was excited to see they had 40% off plants.. which was the only reason I decided to purchase from the website. Overpriced and not that great at packaging. My box was DESTROYED in shipping, which yeah it’s out of their control but I think they need to figure out a better way of shipping the plants because my plants were destroyed. Aside of the plants being destroyed, they were so small for the price! So yeah, I was also so disappointed in how small the plant is for the price you pay!

The first plant I purchased from plantarina arrived in great shape. So I made another order this time for four plants. And they all arrived completely messed up! They were completely out of the pots, soil everywhere, tons of broken stems. This was the order that I had purchased this Cebu Blue from. Not sure if I'll purchase ever again. But their discounts and sales are very tempting!

The shipping is not their fault. Im sure if the plant is damaged they will replace it. Reputable nurseries always do. I purchase most of my plants from Holland (I live in Spain) and some arrive perfect and some arrive late, destroyed and/or dead. They always replace them. You get what you pay for and Space Case got a cebu blue from them and its a nice size for the price. The other two plants are not cebu blue's .

I ordered for the first and last time from planterina a few months back and the plant I received barely had roots. The plant started dying within days, luckily they gave me a refund but I was so disappointed. Still love Amanda's videos but maybe they need better quality control.

I noticed planterina plants are way too much I thought it was stupid I went on their website and Walmart has most of them bought the micans for $12 at Home Depot. Baltic blue at Walmart for $20 the syngonium with white from a local person here for $15 bought 3 of them. I bout pink princess at Walmart for $25. I also noticed websites will send u the best on your first shipment so u order from them again and they do a sorry job. Do not order from website they are chipper at local nursery or local people. I love plants and I go crazy when I see one I don’t have.

Yes, it's definitely a lot cheaper to buy locally. Walmart, Home Depot, Lowe's and the grocery store always have some good stuff at good prices!

This video made me feel guilty for throwing out my cebu blue because i was running out of space and i thought okay, just throw away the cheapest plants. And bcs my cebu blue was like 1.5 dollars on that planterina sized pot when I bought it (here in indo, aroids were cheap) i kinda just... yeet 😶

I got my marble queen pothos at Walmart for 4$ it was extremely root bound in a tiny pot and it's grown sooo much since I've repotted it. I haven't had any issues with Walmart except rootbound and sometimes they're a lil too wet but never had root rot. I got a good sized calathea for 10$ locally they're at least $26

Only $4! What a deal! Oh yeah the plants are always over watered. But if you can find some good stuff it's usually at a cheaper price!

Another Walmart win story? When I scored my Manjula pothos from there. It was so funny, it had a Golden pothos stake in it which I knew it wasn't! Love when I find mislabeled plants.
