if you think about it all Rx7 are old. The only new Rotary car is the Rx8

Solution: Vacuum
Power steering pump whining, it's cavitation and will get worse.
Run a vacuum line from the intake manifold, seal it to the PS fill.
Should go away instantly, rotating steering wheel helps
Still whines, the front seal maybe letting air in, or the pump is permanently damaged.
Chills at those first turbo spools, this thing sounds so sick!

Each and everyone of you guys give absolutely 150% its a total inspiration and joy to watch all of you work like a Valvoline oiled machine :) These last few videos I know have been very difficult and have taken a ton of work that I'm sure we don't get to see even half of. This car is Fracking awesome 👍🏼👍🏼. The FC really doesn't get the love. This is one of the absolute best restomod builds I have ever seen. The only thing that will have to be addressed is the intercooler. It's going to get unbelievably hot after a few seconds at wot. The work of forcing high boost through a itty-bitty hole is the definition of a heat generation device. I'm going to guess 3+ lb pressure drop over 20 psi. You should put that out there as a question for subs? There's enough room to get a deeper wider core and inlet/outlet piping maintaining the upper hood mating flange. Nobody would know the difference as the bigger box would be hidden making it OEM PLUS + 😎
its going to run low boost and he has an highly efficient turbo as explained in his last video. might not be as big of a deal
@@araybeezy1653 for a regular drive I don't think it will, but I think he is right that on track when pushing the car it might become a real issue.

I love how much of the original car you’re using. Even so much as to put the hood latch back in. That’s how a car should be restored properly
Aaahaha, all of them packing into the FC takes me back to when I owned my first FB. We would pack in just like that, only, an FB isn't quite as roomy as an FC.

Rob you've gotta get one of those special coolant funnels. Super freaking satisfying watching all the air bleed out. Plus it makes it super easy to bleed air out.

I miss driving mine so much and the sound of those N1's I cant get enough of. Same thing I have 88 TII love it so much.
I use to ride in the back of my mom and dads fc rx7 just like that when I was younger back when parents didn’t really care about child safety to much. 😂 It was pretty fun though and liked laying down looking out the back window.

This has been one of my favorite builds Rob has done so far. I always liked these cars. My uncle had a RX7 of this gen when i was in elementary i remember him coming to pick me up in it. I loved the way the car sounded

Happy Birthday Rob, and Happy Boxing Day. What better gift can there be for a hard core rotary fan that to get a car running after such a long time. Bravo for all the hard work to the whole team.
Of the 80's cars, I think the FC is my favorite. It just has such purity of design. None of the body lines conflict with each other and it just results in a classy, timeless look. If rotary engines weren't so thirsty and required more maintenance, I'd love to own an FC, but with their quirks, I doubt I'd want the additional trouble to upkeep one. Regardless, this is a great build and I love the OEM look you're aiming for on this one, and white is easily one of this car's best colors.

As someone very much looking forward to an FD build after university, every single part of this is spot on with basically what I'm shooting for and it's so exciting to see it coming together. Watched through the 3 rotor, and when the idea of the 4rotor dropped at Sema it was so awesome man. Definitely the longest Chanel I've followed and watched pretty religiously. Your killing it man. I bought my first car, an '87 TII, in 1994 when I was 16. Sold it in 2000 and I've missed it since. This series really brings the feels.
I've got an RX-8 competition car now but I don't think you'd approve of what I did with it.
I had a 88 FC turbo II and this brought back some great memories.
There was a lot of heartache with that car but also some sublime driving memories I will never forget.
Thanks for this build and taking me down memory lane

Happy birthday Rob. Hey, someone correct me if I'm wrong - but - the wire that goes to the incandescent light (not LED) on your dash enables the field coils, and should be supplied from the hot side of the ignition. If you hard wire it to the battery +12V it will be running the field coils all the time, and probably pulling more power when the engine isn't running, so it may cook the alternator overnight and/or flatten the battery. Cheers.

buy a reliable daily as a first car or an rx7 without knowledge of what these cars really are?
Yup I bought a 1500 rx7 T2 that was primered white. The seller tried to tell me othewise, and that if I was sure, but all I saw was an rx7 infront of me. No surprise, it didn't make the drive home
never really ran right, probably compression. But when it did and i drove it down the road, man it was the best.
Sadly, I had to sell it, but i learned from that and now I have my FD and daily Rx8
