I appreciate how much you emphasize Ding's incredible early performance and finding the engine moves albeit at the cost of loads of time, and then the one mistake. losses and wins aren't so simple. brutal! chess is hard
The only recap that interests me. No matter how many channels you watch, this is the only one that allows you to really understand the game and with extra humor :)
The time control was 40 moves in 120 minutes, followed by +30 minutes time bank and +30 seconds increment from there on Which to me is firmly in the realm of "classical" chess
This is a good recap. The big rook blunder, yes. But, Ding left his bishop too long, as you pointed out. Im getting better slowly by following Feingold principles: retreat. Sometimes. Good channel
I really do not like the shortened time controls and short matches. I want high quality chess played over a long enough period to decide the better player. Not flagging. Rawr!
@ Yeah, classical games should never be without increment or at least delay. 40/90+30 is technically less time than 40/120, but it’s still preferable. IMO the only reason time controls exist in classical is to prevent the game literally going on forever. Time _pressure_ should be minimal to allow for best play.
@@Sitbear "the only reason time controls exist in classical is to prevent the game literally going on forever." No, they exist to ensure the game is over in a reasonable amount of time. Cue argument about how much is "reasonable".
After Bc5+ Rd6 I think would follow Nxh2 Nxh2 and the Bishop will take the pinned Rook sooner or later So white will just be up an exchange with the black Knight semi-trapped
@@anonymousAJ Actually, my point was this is an obvious move and a slightly better one that he missed. Of course, he is not saving a piece and the result will most probably be the same.
Certainly can't call d4 much of a surprise when it's Gukesh's most common first move across his career. Unless maybe he hasn't played it much in the recent past?

@@beeble2003 Don't ask me. I only just found out Gukesh was his first name. Turns out they use first names in chess instead of last names.
Excellent recap! Go Ben! Here is $5.00 for 5 Minutes.
3 5 minuteses. one 5 minutes for each of you.

Fifteen five minutes! Three recaps: one for each of ya!
No no no, it's "Five minutes with Ben. Always repeat. I got two repetitions, one for each of ya!"
Gukesh is trash Ding Will crush him 😂
Mr Ben Finegold you can analize this game they play f3 f5 etc
@@mmmyyykkkeee 😂
Glad you’re doing these recaps :)
Thank you for the breakdown. Good luck with your procedure.
This world championship is heating up. Ding looked to be playing for a draw in the last game and Gukesh is playing to win.

I disagree this is the worst analysis of game 3 on UA-cam. I bet 3 year old Anish Sarkar makes better analysis than Ben.
Love these quick recaps
A little horse is a pony.
Excellent replay! I'm v. Glad I watched! Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanks for the explanations!
Always repeat! (making this excellent recaps)
Get well soon Ben!
Ben is a world treasure that must be protected.
Good luck with your medical procedure Ben.
It's my understanding Ben is getting a chess engine implant in his cranium. Rawr!
@@thenick3216 i'm told those things go in your bum
He definitely needs it😂😂
Thanks Ben. I hope your medical procedure goes well and the rest day helps your voice.
thank you!
go Ben!
but stay there.
Really interesting game! Shame Ding was under so much time pressure, but I'm excited to see how he plans to strike back with the white pieces.

Is the minority attack against the Carlsbad pawn structure played out at the GM level?

If they wanted shorter why not 90 minutes + 30 seconds with bonus time after move 40?

I agree but gukesh would have still won in this case

10:51 Here actually the king shouldn't move rather bring back the hanging rook to block the check with Rd6

Nice!
I feel like this is the type of game Rapport would have played. Either way he has to return to his style that got him this far.
I hope your op went well
Ding resigned but 2 seconds later he lost on time. 2:0 for Gukesh,
I could watch Hikaru's breakdown, but I gotta get back to work after lunch
I don't know if I can call d4 much of a surprise. Give me something outside of c4, d4, and e4 and I may agree it was a surprise.

I'll watch only 5 minutes at a time, I can't betray Ben
Why calling it 5 mins with ben Finegold bro i almost skipped the video didnt know it was about ding vs gukash recap
"This was about 12 minutes"
Frankly, ridiculous
❤
5 minutes with Ben but its 15 minutes
Very suspicious
Ding should have played ne6 a move sooner.

Are these ever actually 5 minutes?

No, it's a pony. Donkeys are a different species.
Five minutes, except for one thing
what is he doing with his mouth the whole video
Ask him how he got those scars

Ect....
Stopped at 5 minutes anyways.
This is clickbait!!! Actually not 5 min
Mostly human
If Ding resigned and lost on time, shouldn't Guk get two points??
Your voice is hoarse. Hope you are well, Ben!
