On this channel, I discuss topics like RPGs, CRPGs, JRPGs, FFXIV, Baldur's Gate 3, Diablo 4, Path of Exile, Elden Ring, MMOs, World of Warcraft, and gaming industry news. - Ігри
I'm getting a lot of comments from people who may have misunderstood me. 30fps isn't the issue. The inconsistencies of frame rates are what many reviewers are talking about.
Skipping, tearing, textures not loading properly, slow downs, and speed ups, things you actually see, not some boogy man that people apparently believe FPS to be.
Capcom didn't take the time to optimize the game. Buying the game because you want to play it is fine. Shaming others for caring about how a $70+ product should perform day 1 is a weird flex, and you should get your head checked.
So this is it huh? Broken AAA games really lowered the bar so bad. People starts to think it is illogical for a game that works fine on launch day.
Just like CJ said:“Things have changed around here.”😂
bro made a whole pinned comment over one guy leaving a comment tired of people bitching, regret all the 5 dollar donos i left , if this is ur reaction, do ur self a favor and stop arguing with ur subs in comments, not a good look for you.
@@BlankaCentral Bullshit, he should write stuff like that to that idiots who excuse shit state of games. Good for him for standing for quality.
And if you don't like it, just unsub and GTFO. Nobody will miss you.
Look my guy. I understand you have a problem with how the game runs, but there will be patches updates, dlcs, and it’ll be good overtime just like cyber punk
@BlankaCentral What? I skimmed through comments to see if my points are made clearly. There's a wide misunderstanding in the comments that people think 30fps is the topic or issue and it's not.
Also, it's a hell of a lot more than 1 comments lol
Inconsistent framerate is the worst possible thing. I have no idea why they chose that over a 30 fps lock on consoles.
look at all the DD2 reviews and you'll see why. Incompetent/ass-licking games reviewers will give it 9/10 for looking good and take zero points off for running like shit, so the devs don't care.
@@CosmicAeon If you are on a console in 2024 running games at 30fps - you are the problem. Not devs.
They will make what people buy. If enough people are fine with 30 fps the rest of us have to suffer.
If 120fps was the standard we would at least have games running at 100 consistently. Otherwise no one would buy it.
But they do, so here we are.
@@CosmicAeon the game can be good, great, even, AND also have technical problems. It's not mutually exclusive. It may indeed be a 9/10 game with big technical problems on launch. Days Gone had it, Cyberpunk had it. Just wait for patches for a pair months.
@@stanislavkimov2779so pay $70 now and wait for the game to get better later ? Lmao I hope you joking bro 😂 and half the shit they said was gonna be in cyberpunk still ain’t in the game till this day, that game forever a scam to me
@@XEN-ZOMBIEyou literally have zero clue what you are talking about, the issue is you, cry babies
As a creator of AAA content, I can tell you this. The director/producers know exactly how good or bad there Intellectual property is. Whether it is a game or film.. they know. So, this idea that Capcom seems as surprised as us that the game runs poorly is a lie. They have known for 6 months that this was an issue. There will be no magic fix.
Developers y'all are asking for 70 dollars. I'm asking for a fucking optimized game. Fair right?
Imagine if this was MMO xD 10 fps everywhere on launch day
nope ur asking way to much from the developers cuz thats too hard for them to do lately LOL
It’s pretty pathetic at this point… I swear it’s only a handful of developers that actually put out an actual completed game at launch… Elden ring for example

Dont forget Denuvo, the game has Denuvo. Instant boost if its removed
So time to 🏴☠️the game?
I don't get why these companies don't get it. Having crazy DRM will just make more people want to crack it. If the game is good, people will buy it.
Maybe they'll remove it once it gets cracked. Pirates gonna Pirate regardless.
Hogwarts has Devuvo too and it was cracked the 1st day xD
@@gregorygreg000Right, DRM is not a great anti-piracy solution, and it really only punishes consumers who purchase games.
I should point out that Denuvo "works"
Most denuvo games don't get cracked for weeks to months, and the numbers provided always paint a story that they sold more copies thanks to Denuvo... however cherry picked the numbers are. It's also important to understand how "costs" within a company can work, Denuvo is usually structured into a budget that is separated from regular development costs. Usually they actually section out a budget specifically for "security" which is entirely unprofitable, allowing them to mark out the costs for things like DRM to be a "loss" which provides them tax credits on the overall business.
So you get to slap a sticker on it that angers what they perceive to only be pirates, it makes the suits that don't understand games happy because their game isn't getting stolen, Denuvo has a marketing team that spends time pointing out how much better your game did in sales thanks to its software, and it can usually be a written off loss for the company that allows them to claw more of the profits away from taxes.
They keep doing it because the people making the decision don't see it as anything more than a sticker on the box, they see it as a massive tax write off that boosts sales, even though there's no proof that more people buy a game because it's "impossible" to pirate, and the tax system shouldn't reward people for wasting money on products they can throw into a throwaway budget.
Turns out there are far more problems than performance. What a waste of bloody time.
Liike what exactly? all i've heard from people and have seen in vids, reviews etc is performance problems..
On console there's a save big where the game gets stuck in the auto save and you are then unable to actually save your progress. So if your console crashes when the games auto save fails, you lose everything @@LuminateTheWorld
This is why i no longer watch reviews from big youtube ''influencers'',they're in bed with the publishers and shill games knowing full well that they have problems.
Well oc they need to keep the good relationship between the publishers so they can get early access review copies so they can get them big ad revenues.
Which is why (big) UA-cam channels only review games that they get early. Also some even get pushed better/more advertising...
That's how these people are being paid for. Before it was directed payment or some stupid events and merch, now they have to be way more indirect
Capcom 100% gonna hit with a lot of refunds on steam and negative reviews. Here is your "price increase" corporate rats
30 fps in cities on PC is unacceptable, full stop
Agree - and while I don't think the game looks bad, there are plenty of PS5 (and even a few PS4) games that look leagues better and run a steady 60 FPS without breaking a sweat on console. You can't get a steady 60 on the highest end PC available? That's really, really bad.
God ur entitled
@@anthonydouglas4200 no their not. I dont think its too bad but years of advancement and improvrments on games and game consoles/pc's and it can't run at even 40 or 50fps is kinda dumb and if they don't like and won't accept it, that's fine

This seems to be the norm now unfortunately. I rarely buy a game at launch anymore. They almost all need some patching these days.
I only bought it on launch day because it was right away stores own special sale for 43€ 😎
yeah pre buying makes zero sense nowadays. I want to play this but I will certainly wait till the game is roughly finished.
@@alexgalays910It never made sense in the first place, unless you're a streamer or something that need preloading so you're ready to stream at launch day, video game is a software which practically has infinite supply, wait for review, why blindly throw money?
I waited 12 years so it is what it is. DD is near to my ❤
I don't know if it's only me but I can't even access the vocation menu without it crashing the game entirely. I can possibly enter for like 2-5 seconds before a freeze crash!
What about the ridiculous lack of any separate save file and microtranscantions? Not only are you stuck with one save file, you can't even start again or delete said current save file. If you want to change your character appearance, you have to purchase the Art of Metamorphosis - Character Editor in the Item Shop. Heck, besides that item, the Item Shop also sells Rift Crystals, Wakestones, Portcrystals and all kinds of items.
The Microtransaction was ridiculous enough but you are still stuck with one save file like the original? Even the character changing item was sold by an NPC in two forms, one could only be used one time while the other is something you could use many times. But here in Dragon's Dogma 2, it's sold as an Item from the Shop.
you earn them in game. the micro transactions are literally "micro"
@@rennyNOTkenny Yeah sure i can forgive microtransactions which i still fins dumb when added to a single player game but what about that one save game file that you are stuck with. Even when the first one had the same problem, atleast it allowed you to start again. Not only did they not add more save slots in DD2 but once you created a save file, you are stuck with it.
@@rennyNOTkennywhy is everyone rushing to suck the big dong of the billion dollar company? Saying that you can earn them in game is missing the point entirely. There is no reason, that you as a consumer, should just be okay with this existing at all. It's problematic. I don't understand why everyone is coping so hard for a single IP because the first one was okay and suddenly that makes absolute malpractice and shitty industry standards okay? It's just okay now because it's an okay game. You are laying out the rug for them to give less of a game on purchase, so that you can pay for more later. Even if you can earn them in game, and even if it's not that difficult to earn them in game, that doesn't mean that the numbers will not show them that they can inch that standard further and further. Get it together, and stop defending shit practices.
You would be the first to bitch about it if blizzard did it, or some less favorable IP at all.
@@reveredrogue9725 you can change your character and class in the one save file. Why would you want another save file of something that would be identical? I get it for something like baldurs gate but the vocations are basically your save files, the world continues after play through

Helldivers is amazing - you'll be having too much fun to be bummed about this.
@@justinmills1721not if you wanna use an arc weapon
Helldivers is a fucking joke itself- matchmaking is still borked, there are new crashes after every single 'fix', and the devs are actively trying to make their game shittier by nerfing good weapons instead of buffing the NUMEROUS shitty weapons in complete defiance of the player base. It's honestly not worth the hype, like at all. Period. It's gotten really boring in the last two weeks and anyone who goes around spouting the 'liber-tea!' If you bought it, keep an eye on the 2 hours return window is my recommendation- I honestly don't think it was worth it even at 40 euros, and neither do my friends at this point.
Cancelled it in favor of FF7Rb a couple days ago, all things considered it wouldn't even be worth playing on 1080p. It was evident from the moment Itsuno announced console performance that it'd be a shitshow.
The fact that EVERY tester got to try it out on ps5 spoke volumes, PC performance was even worse in comparison. My prediction that not even a 4090 would be able to run it 60@4k was correct lmao.
The fools chanting "Nononono it's a CPU bottleneck you need the latest flagship intel CPU to run it properly" should consider the 🪢. Dragons Dogshit 2 has SERIOUS problems and the team weren't able to iron things out, lost both hope & motivation as time went on, all while Capcom realized they needed to make their return on investment. We're not talking about some simple bug fixes, but major rework to core implementations, their code is flawed & inefficient, if it were easy they would've done it already as the game is already delayed because of performance issues.
We're witnessing another Cyberpunk, only difference being that we yet don't know whether they'll work to fix these issues or just sweep it under the rug. I'm guessing on the latter based on Itsunos comments 🤦♂
@@horusthehorse Oh so now people are "simps" for games too... Heh. Malding like this is always kinda hilarious to read, sorry. They're going to keep tweaking balances all throughout the game's lifetime and keep doing different things, so... I've been having fun. But I also haven't been trying to play it in sweaty min-max kinda way at all.. seems those kinds of people are the angriest as balance tweaks = they can't make a always repeatable meta for grind, I guess?
$70 plus microtransactions - some on stuff like changing the way your character looks like in a single player game. Pretty scummy move if you don't at the minimum optimize your product.
the biggest problem is that steam has no preload

Frame rate issues and 30 fps for console is just pure bullshit. At least have a demo so people can play and then make their purchase afterwards if the frame rate doesn’t bother them.
thats right, and why they didnt release a demo cause it will undersell lol
Many played Red Dead 2 on console and hailed it a masterpiece.
What’s the problem kiddo?
Show us on the doll where 30fps hurt you. 🤡
(Newsflash, not one single animated movie is 60fps, they’re lower)
So again, what’s the problem kiddo?
@@gregc.9313games and movies is different
@@gregc.9313 The problem is that consoles do not have 4090's and 7900X3D's in them. If your game is runninmg like shit on some of the best computer parts available to the market today, then there is a major fucking issue with your optimization team.
Aside from that, comparing a 24fps movie to 24 fps gaming is not a very good comparison. Cameras capture movement way differently than games do, and the fact that watching a movie is a passive activity while playing a game is a much more active thing. Movies can get away with the typical 24 fps because of the way that cameras shutter and handle motion blur A LOT differently than the way game engines do.
And don't even compare an animated movie, which has every.single.frame. drawn by hand, for maximum clarity and viewing pleasure to a game lmao.
Fuck this game. One save game file unless you pay for another character. No new game start, no way to delete current save. Worse than D4 stash tabs.

Bruh, one save slot was a thing in the first game, too. Not to mention game has new game plus, you can change your class whenever and change your appearance so long as you get the items for it, which you can either buy with real cash or obtain in game.
If I remember correctly, this was one of the problems with Baldur's Gate. 3. There was heavy memory usage in act 3 because of all the NPCs. But Larian was able to fix it. Hopefully Capcom is as talented as Larian studios
and people praised it as a new gold standard RPG even though in act 3 I had to stop playing til they fix bug like my companions getting stuck when i switched them and couldnt use them anymore.
They just gotta call Larry and they're golden! He's a stand up guy.
Maybe, but this game was in development for how long and delayed how many times? They are way past the point where optimization should have been completed and polished.
There is a huge difference between a turn based game being low fps and a high action fast moving game
They are talented. But yet again, we have to wait for a “finished, polished” product. Shits tiring
Capcom: adds Denuvo a game that's already CPU bound likely due to pawns being more advanced than typical NPCs.
Game has performance issues due a CPU bottleneck
Capcom: * surprised Pikachu face *
Here's a suggestion Capcom: *Stop making your products worse for paying customers.*
hard to believe anyone still gives them money when treated like this. gamers must be masochists, its the only explanation
Highly doubt removing Denuvo would be enough in this case. We're talking a 7800X3D + 4090 having stutterings that send frames as low as 30~40's fps.
@@masteroak9724 If the game on its own is enough to cause performance issues on high end PCs then adding more load with Denuvo is only making the situation worse especially on weaker machines.
If your games can't run on the average machine/console at 60+ fps, no one should be buying your game. Stop trying to make these games look as realistic as possible, because the hardware/developer skill, is just not there to the point where these games can run well. No one should need a $500 cpu and $1000 gpu to get 60fps on modern games. It's completely unacceptable.
People in these comments are really out here saying 25 to 30 FPS in 2024 is acceptable. The absolute state of gaming.
We're rendering games at 720p and then upscaling them only to get 25-30 fps, straight back to the ps3 days lol
I'm gonna say it. I believe some of the issue may be linked to Denuvo. It's shown to bog down CPU already, by people who work heavily with it (yes, pirates, but if they can crack it, they know it). I don't believe removing it would remove the problem, but I would bet money that removing it would alleviate the issue.
Stop blaming Denuvo for everything. The game runs like crap also on consoles. I tested a lot of games with and without Denuvo and they run the same.
@@fastica I think you may wish to reread what I said.." I don't believe removing it would remove the problem, but I would bet money that removing it would alleviate the issue".
There is also definitive, non-anecdotal evidence, provided by the same people cracking the games (an AC game iirc). So, why defend it? Bottom line 30 FPS is unexceptable in 2024 gaming. But the majority of people don't care, so most devs will continue to slide on by doing the minimum. Until the majority of gamers demand better, the hard-core crowd will continue to suffer with mediocre games
People do care they just know they can't do shit about it because devs know they will still buy it.

I'll be honest, Capcom has a habit of releasing games incomplete in March 20th-27th before the end of the Japanese Financial year to capture one last hurray. Monster hunter Rise was infamously so incomplete on initial release that the entire high rank portion did not contain any elder dragons besides the first form of the final boss fight, as well as missed out most of the higher difficulty monsters. This habit of their also meant that delaying a release is totally non-negotiable as it is tied to their financial results for the year, often resulting in terribly bad early releases.
While Capcom developers in general has been pretty good at designing games, the corporate side of the company has repeatedly over and over again made bad decisions that hampered the experience of the games, as well as snatching defeat from the jaws of what would have been widespread victory by standing in the way of letting their games do the talking. For a company that has so many good game releases, they have decided to make anti-consumer choices every time any form of profit or financial incentive comes into play, and it really bothers me since it's one of the supposed last "AAA" company that isnt downright scummy, or worse, nintendo.
How shortsighted are those suits? Delay it a few months, and the profits roll into the next years financial reports. Even short term it's a non issue.

I played the first game on PS3, and the frame rate went to single digits at times. I still completed multiple playthroughs because it was so fun and unique.
According to Japanese players of the MMO of DD, Capcom was VERY slow at updating the game, which is part of why people stopped playing and why it got shut down. I am very concerned about how long we might have to wait for them to optimize the game.
"Have they tried removing denuvo?" -pirate
xD Didn't save Hogwarts and AC Odyssey from being cracked
It never will. I have a feeling denovo also acts like a data vacuum and collects and reports everything you do while playing said game. Data is worth so much and people don't realize it. It has never worked yet they still keep using it, knowing it gives a performance hit. There has to be another reason. They have already proven pirating doesn't effect the industry as most of them can't afford the game hence sailing the high seas.
@@natel7382 You are getting very warm.
DRM itself is a scam. They all know it is pointless, but it still sells, while they are at it they can vacuum up all the data from morons in the first couple weeks of release.

Pcgamer did a great break down on the cpu related problems. Using dx12 analytic tools, they noticed some rather large issues with draw calls taking FAR to long, most notably in towns. It's looking and sounding like they have some cleaning up to do on that side of things. That said, making sure all the threads don't stall eachother out (which is kind of what seems to be happening) is no small feat and I suspect they know that, hence saying "in the future" unfortunately..
Interesting comment, thanks for sharing
This is still rather confusing though, I am playing through the game and while it has a lot of NPCs I've played games with visuals on par with even more NPCs in one place. Is this an engine limit? NPCs loading in right in front of you is truly pitiful and kills immersion.
@@Redroomjjgfd its not so much the visual aspect thats the issue. Its the way in which the game is programmed to handle npcs in an inefficient way being overly taxing on the CPU. Hence why people changing graphics options is having little to no noticeable effect on the stuttering and dropped frames. Even with a beefy cpu above the recommended specs people are still having issues. For instance I personally can run cyberpunk on max settings with raytracing turned on at generally high fps but this game stutters and hiccupps to comical levels every time more than say 3 or 4 npcs are called into the scene.
i must be a buji gamer but if im dipping from 60 to sub 30 i dont know how you can just shrug that off. that is all i would be able to focus on.
Need to make that money? Capcom is one of the LARGEST companies. They have money and time to spare. It comes down to more so if they are trying to make a great game yet quickly push it out. Also comes to how they plan to make extra money. The fact that the game was JUST released and then suddenly you have all of those "Here are DLC's, BUY THEM!" additions, just kind of makes this look like a marketing ploy and not so much about the customers or gamers who have been Capcom fans for YEARS! I have been playing Capcom games since I was around 6 years old, and the way most (if not all) game companies have chosen to direct themselves towards money and not so much about the customers that have made it so they can be what they have been able to become, kind of shows where their focus is :/ I have also read on steam how they were also asking for money just to change the appearance of the character or to even start a brand new game, or not being able to start a brand new game, it really makes this particular company look like nothing but a greedy company :(
Bro im on a 4090 and I'm hitting sub 40fps in the towns wtf
I don't understand why its uncapped-on consoles. even on PC I usually set a 30 or 60 fps limiter. depending on my quality settings. unsteady frame rate is far worse than low frame rate. after an hour at 30 fps i adjust and im fine with it. but i will never adjust to going from 45 fps to 27.
You could always thin the herd. Less NPCs = less CPU load. Pretty easy math.
Yes but there are already not many NPCs running around, cities look kinda empty.
Thank you for the heads up, much appreciated :)

As long as I can run it 1080p, decent settings in the 40-60fps ballpark, I'll be quite happy... or as long as there's a way to cap FPS, since I can honestly get used to basically any steady FPS (30fps and up. Ofc higher the better...)
It'd be the wild FPS fluctuations or stutter that'd ruin it for me.
I upgraded from a 3060 ti to a 4070s but I still have to do my cpu(10600k) so I'm already expecting a refund and a helldivers 2 buy. I was going to buy a couple games on sale just in case dd2 wasn't worthy and I was like no that's bad juju. I should have. Lol.
We have the same CPU and GPU so take it from me: the game dips in villages and cities, anywhere from 30 to 40. The open world runs fine, but random parts of the landscape and cliffsides will dip you down to 50 at times. I used dlss balanced, then auto and it fluctuated. I lowered some settings below red and orange and it only improved slightly in the bigger city of dd2.
Overall, this port is very disappointing. Normally, capcom are fine when it comes to PC ports.
@@jonnyx2011 Yea I refunded, When I went to remake my character because I messed it up, I couldn't. Plus, motion sickness, I'll grab it on sale in a year when it's in a better spot.
@@jonnyx2011 Thanks for the info, much appreciated.
Only managed to start downloading on steam today and it said "1 hour to go" and hour ago, now it says 4 hours, so haven't had any time to test it so still time to ... idk, lower my expectations, I guess.
I really hate it when games make me think of the bad performance by introducing such severe hitches every now and then, as with immersive games it really pulls you out of it :(
@@jonnyx2011 Oh and what's even more disappointing to me is how many youtubers entirely fail to discuss the poor optimization yet again. Looking at most of the coverage around it'd seem like the game is nothing short of fantastic in it's state... So yeah, even more respect to LegendaryDrops to give us an honest headsup.
Denuvo? looks like im sailing the high seas once again
4090 barley hold 60 fps….brooooo
70$+ denuvo+ shit framerates = LOL. im good. maybe when its on sale for $20. i have no idea why anyone would pay for this game
Hype. Hype makes you dumb.

@@DrumBoyHG yes, you are free to waste ur money, thank you for your very insightful contribution to this conversation, you are indeed free to spend ur money how you like, genius
@@kenshiman90 okay wise guy 🤓☝️
@@DrumBoyHG 😂😂 you got me
I've been calling this for months. Did you EVER see game preview on PC? NO! And all PC players were like I can't wait to play at 220fps blah blah blah. Just shows the ignorance 🙄
The fact that I can't start another new game at alllll is the craziest thing I've ever seen in a video game. 😕
Holy Moly is this game for real.
A single Player Game and u can buy so much in the store. You can't even make a new character, are u joking?
How can ppl defend this? I really don't get it, just why?
Spend your money like u want but when u support this ♥♥♥♥, you will get it in the next game too
I was so Hyped and its a good remider why u dont preorder these days
People defend this because they spent 70 dollars on it and wont accept it was a mistake. So they Will champion for it. There were people calling this GOTY months before it even came out. So to not look stupid (in their own mind), they need to keep up that narrative. In turn looking even more stupid…
NEVER pre-order, NEVER buy day one, especially from AAA game companies
never worth the high visuals for inferior quality
Denuvo too, the game is a skip
really had hoped since they were on a good streak for awhile😭
Man, was so excited, the results ? can't create a new save, glitching texture with literally the FLOOR missing in some places (could fall to my death), and low FPS with NPCs. Way to botch a hyped game. I never preorder but loved the first one and dark arisen so much that I thought why not, here is my lesson.
I ALMOST bought it.. glad I stuck to my rule of never preordering a game and read the steam reviews first.
"Play the game the way they want to" 😂😂😂 nah, you play the game the way its given to you
We passed 30 fps years ago. Not getting 60 fps with a 4090 is fucking embarrassing.
I was genuinely just sat here hoping you’d do a video on this issue and here you are! Thanks for coming through as always Ian! I’ll be waiting before I buy this now. It’s gotta at least offer me 40fps with VRR (on PS5) for me to be able to enjoy the game.
after watching a review from the Fextralife guy, he said they averaged between 40 and 50 fps on ps5, and 30 on series x. not sure how series s owners are gonna run this thing, but honestly, i’m not sure how they run anything on that thing. Microsoft really needs to quit it with that “half measure” console thing they’ve been doing since the late 360 days, cuz it never seems to work out very well.
it should be noted, from what i've read the performance drops in the city is restricted to ONE major city and not every city
People can literally go watch "spoiler" free gameplay (yes I know it's subjective) and determine if it's a dealbreaker for them. From what gameplay I've seen and after I read the PC Gamer performance breakdown, it doesn't seem like it's going to be too bad.
i mean yes but also no beause usually streamers have the best of the best rigs@@zaddyzeeseburgnutz
@@zaddyzeeseburgnutz it was that bad, 30-20 on my 4090 and didnt look that good. also had a 13900k
The best game of all time is 30fps so I’m not bothered. Fear the old blood!
Bloodborne trained me for this moment...
But seriously, I think people being upset about the FPS is totally justified.
Then it is NOT the best game of all time.
@@hawkofthereborn43you clearly haven't played any classics.
Tonight, Gehrman joins the hunt...
Ahhh, a Hunter i see
the problem is it’s running 2 DRMs then expecting players to be okay with it choking ur cpu
Do not expect significant improvement in DD2. It's stuck on RE Engine, which is the source of the problem. It's not that the devs didn't optimize, though I'm sure some improvements can be made, but it's the poor tech they are stuck with. This is why Capcom is working on their REX Engine, as with the huge influx of cash since 2018, they can now afford to invest a proper amount into their technology. Though that statement is relative because they, like many Japanese developers/publishers (like From Soft) have very different perspectives on all of this than those in the west.
I'm glad I don't do pre-orders. There's no point in it, especially if you're doing digital downloads instead of physical copies.
It's a shame it doesn't seem to be running well on anything, the steam deck is my main gaming console (love being able to play elden ring while waiting at the doctors).
Yep, as soon as I had the sense to stop pre-ordering anything, I've been a much happier gamer. (I think I have CyberPunk 2077 to thank for that... "trusted" CDPR and they taught me I shouldn't make exceptions. Devs and I aren't friends no matter how well they've done in the past.)
All the info a gamer can ever need is available right after release and it is so much more valuable than some pre-order trinkets you use for an hour until you surpass them in the game progression...
Can only recommend.
You are going to havd a difficult life, the coming years, because due hardware and size of games, lots will be 30fps😂
Blood borne, Gta V in early days was still one of the best gaming experience for me at 30fps. The argument is justified though, we deserve better performance especially in PC. However ill take dragons dogma 2 at 30 fps any day over absolutely dogshit games like suicide squad at 300 fps
And on top, Bloodborne is at a far faster pace than Dragon's Dogma.
I mean capcom is about to fuck around and find out. that steam page is gonna tell the story and people are gonna start refunding if its in a terrible state.
I was close to picking those up up when I saw the game sitting on the shelf at Walmart the day before release. The frame rate does not bug me nearly as much as the save problems and microtransactions. The second alone will make me never get a game at a 60 or higher price, so glad I held off with the purchase.
It is kinda BS there’s no 60 option. Cmon
In 2024 too
I was going to buy this game on day-1, but after watching handful of reviews it seems I won't be doing so after all.
I literally get mild headache and nausea from stutters and low fps issues, so the game in its current state (on PC) would be unplayable for me.
And it is a shame, because I've been waiting for this game for so long now.
Capcom is one of the few bigger companies that still produces quality games, but they're somewhat notorious for doing bad PC ports (at launch).
“Notorious for bad pc ports at launch”
“Was going to buy this day 1”
Do you look in the mirror everyday with a questionable look on your face and go “I’m retarded?”
@@gregc.9313Did your parents mistreat you or something?
The resident evil games had such great performance and now they come out with this. There is no way I will accept devs banking on DLSS to fix performance issues.
My game crashed and I lost 5 hours of gameplay and was sent down to level 2 even though I had saved dozens of times before that happened. I nearly quit completely and still am pissed off that I have to redo all that exploring. So effing annoying.
im on a low end machine. if it doesn't run well in the first 2 hours, im returning it.
godspeed friend. Hope it's playable
Same tactic for me too.
Plan on returning it
You are referring to the STARFIELD treatment.
I'd suggest you just refund it right now and get a PS5 copy if you're using a PC that's more than 2-3 years old
I’m glad I didn’t pre-order. Every time I’m tempted or give in it always backfires. The last three were Cyberpunk, Spider-Man 2, and Starfield. Almost did the Dragons Dogma 2, but I remembered capcom and PC, need to wait.
When I heard a journalist reviewing the game was on a 4090 RTX GPU and was still complaining about performance, that caused me to say NOPE!!! I'm on a bit of an older PC and I don't have $1000-1200+ to drop into a new PC right now.
$1000-1200 ? My PC was 1600 dollars and it still wouldn't be able to run the game. You'd need at LEAST 2000+ dollars lmao
@@redforest3740 Oh is that all? Mmmkay... HAHA
@@esh_414 Yeah just a measly 2000 dollars! you could easily make that in a couple minutes right???? At least the dragons dogma devs think that lmfao
70$. Microtransactions. IN A SINGLE PLAYER GAME.
Crappy optimization... AND DENUVO ON TOP OF IT, which is proven to make performance worse.
Not regretting saving my 70$ from this greedy corpo
just refunded the game.
It actually has really detailed settings options and includes DLSS. Adjusting graphical settings or resolution will do almost nothing to help fix the framerate. Unfortunately, the game is heavily CPU bottlenecked right now.
All the buffoons saying "just buy a 4090 you peasants" are going to be incredibly upset when their $1500 GPU fails to stop the drops to 30fps during heavy combat sequences or when running around in a city.
wait until you see the staggering microtransactions they put in after releasing lol.
capcom is gonna capcom.
Eh...On that front, Arrowhead is also changing the norm. They managed a reverse sale curve... And they also don't "fix later" the game, instead they break it bits by bits. Reverse playability curve?
Perfomance? Who cares about that, the main problem is the microtransaction much worst than Sega new Like Dragon game who want you pay game+ mode.
Im still buying it. I played the first one on 360 so i can deal till they fix it which i am sure they will.
You earned a new sub because you aren’t a deckrider and you are man enuff to recognize your mistakes. Crazy how I’ve been telling everyone this game would be a poorly optimized mess on consoles and PCs since November. Everyone told me I was a hater and kept coping as newer information confirming what I said would leak as we got closer to release. Performance is absolute trash, and it’s your fault, the clowns who kept coping and preordering games instead of not buying anything until they have a finished product
I havent even played it yet but here we are already discussing the issues lol! Ahhhhhh modern gaming ecosystem.
Diversity hires over industry great men who made gaming! Yea it makes sense why it’s so poorly optimized 😂equality
What does that have to do with a poor optimization? Are you just using the wokeness because it's an easy thing to pin the blame on rather than how it's developed or optimized?
3:01 - Seems like DD2 went with the "low quality, low FPS" as the only available option.
If the game comes out and the rtx 4080 only gets 30fps on this game. It ain’t worth it at all. I’m not going back to console days. I’m done with that 30fps and below
This game has micro transactions DO NOT BUY THIS GAME
every game has mtx. this is such a red herring. the actual issue is the dogshit performance.
Um, Act 3 on BG3 was borked as farrrrk on launch too: way worse than this lol....on PC too. Tbh if your cpu/gpu isn't mean, you kind of can't expect open world great fidelity and performance.
Solution - Simple, play on a beefy PC if you care a ton about fps.....or wait for the Pro. Like, these consoles are weak af man. (I own all the consoles, but yeah - I've accepted long ago that consoles are pretty much mud for fidelity and fps). I will be playing on PC, and worked hard to get one that I knew would play it decent: it's a good gaming goal 100%.
Thankyou and I had quest breaking bugs in baldurs gate 3 and would turn into a slide show in parts of act 3 but still was 10 out of 10
The problem is that even the most beefy CPU/PC available will have a very significant frame drop (below 60 fps, to 30-40fps) that is far beyond how bad bg3 frame drops were.
“Fix it In the future” that’s so vague it can mean anything like future games or what?
Dragon's Dogma 2 just proves once again that most "AAA" games are overpriced Early Access products. It's no wonder more people skip or wait a year later.
We played games at 30 FPS for years....the games were complete and didn't try to rob your bank for horse armor... If you can't stand 30, you have weak eyeballs lol.
The main issue isn't 30 or even 25 fps , but it being unstable and fluctuating . And it was an issue people did complain about for the first game , so it ain't out of the blue . People played the game regardless , and we will again regardless , but when there is an issue , it's fine to talk about it . And even back in the day of the snes , we did complain about input lag , framerate issues or display frequency , even when most tehcnical terms weren't coined by players . As an example really into street fighter 2 and aware of issues , did complain about the Pal/EU version playing slowly at 50hz with black bars as an example . Play Ostrich if you want , but don't pretend everyone always did .
got the game already sorry not sorry.
I play Nolvus Ascension @4k with RT enabled on my PC. Your framerate concerns are noted but I'm unconcerned.
However, it's too bad that a spectacular game is hampered by lack of optimization. I'm sure it will be quickly remedied.
I'm excited to play this, but I will be waiting. It seems like there a few things that need tweaking before jumping in at full price.
Imma try it on steam return it within 2 hours. Suck PlayStation denies refunds
Thank you for making a video about this issue.
Microtransactions in a single player game? For fast travel? For new character saves? lol
The Invisible Walls in the mountains are a real issue which isn't being talked about enough. The Map is a facade. The game is far more linear than we were initially lead to believe. I wouldn't even go as far as to call DD2 an open world. More like multiple choice.
why would you expect a major game development studio to build a working game? it's like turning an OF into a house wife. Stop buying these seed dumps like you wanna love em. Now fly you fools!
I can forgive a lot of it didn’t release with 60$ aud of micro-transactions, that alone says the game is unfinished
I bought it, played a little over an hour, I did notice the speed up/speed down, but not enough to hinder my play however it didn't pull me in, like some games I immediately enjoy. I will wait till this is cheaper was able to get the refund.
i also had an issue with aiming my steady shot as an archer, where once in Steady shot mode, my aim would drift all over the screen, though this may just have been a controller issue.
It's sad that day one good performances is just not realistic anymore, at least on pc. It's always released with subpar optimization with later updates and patch to fix those issues. I'm an advocate of no preorders but now I might just go to a no day-one mindset.
We need to focus our attention on the executives not the devs
From my experience, i thought i would let my anti pre-order guard down for once, turns out, you never should these days. I have a 3060 RTX and an AMD Ryzen 5 5600 6-core processor, couldn't get passed the prologue, crashed 5 times. Such a shame, especially from Capcom. Fix it before, not after release, which is something barley any game company does anymore.
