I work at a plant that makes super tech aerosol products. Walmart doesn’t make the product, Walmart is one of our customers we make the product for them and they distribute it
With decreasers you always want to let it sink in for a good ten minutes to absorb and loosen all the grease and dirt. You also want to cover the alternator with a plastic bag and the battery.
I believe that the instructions say not to agitate the product just to let it sit and foam. To be fair, I don't think you gave the foam enough time to work. I have used the product and no complaint
Most of the cleaners do have a set time. He acknowledged this fact in the O'Reilly's product test. He is using the same test method with all of them just to compare.
Walmart stuff isn't always the best but it did work for me. The problem I have is it took two cans to really get it and at that price you can go to the dollar store. That engine was bad through.
Salt of the earth customer right there. Your name should be Scott “Super Clean” xxxx. You do a great job Scott. Love the videos. Keep them coming. Stick with Super Clean. It works.
The Last Boy Scout hell no, not in the past present or future. Vehicles engine bay contains very delicate moving parts. a majority of which are made of metals. Any worn or uncoated metallic parts WILL rust. He just screwed that customer down the road. Stick to proper cleaners and degreasers never ever use water.
Scott-Could you do a review of the Berryman B-33 engine degreaser? It is more expensive but has worked great for me. I bought it once at the store and liked it so now I just keep my eye on Amazon and buy it there when it gets offered for a low price. Thanks for all the detailing tips!
That stuff is not bad i used it during and engine rebuild. On the block, heads, and bay. A long with undercarriage. It cleaned well used about four cans total.
This is some of the best Wasp killers......one spray on the nest and they drop......the white spray evaporates and does not stain the outside of your house....has about a 7 foot spray
You clearly used it wrong despite having read the instructions, regardless, that stuff is really weak. Gunk brand does a better job. SuperClean does a great job, but it can leave a hazy or powdery finish depending on the surface, temperature, and dwell time.
have you ever tried removing junkyard chalk/paint marker/crayon or whatever the junk yard decided to use to mark their parts off of engines? what has been most successful?
Just used la's totally awesome on some wheels and it broke down alot of the dirt and grime instantly. It worked way better than this stuff and it was cheaper
I like the clean engine bay but am always anxious about spraying too much water under the hood because of all the electric/ electronic components. You didn't cover anything. Do I worry too much? What are your thoughts?
12 minutes on the first pass while making a video on such an old dirty engine. You really are a pro! If not making a video you’re probably done in under an hour. Economical for the customer, convenient for you!!
It's a little troublesome, but if you go the a True value hardware or whatever, and get adapters for your kitchen, bathroom sink to a garden hose, you can turn on your hot water from your house to your garden hose, and just doing that, just warm-hot water, will clean 90% of everything. The military uses steam cleaners for Humvees, very expensive, unnecessary. If you use hot water the same temp as you take a shower with, and freaking 409 or simple green, it will do just as well, and all biodegradeable. You could buy a pressure washer that heats up the water with natural gas or gas, but those cost like$3,000 and way too much troublesome unless you have a full business of cleaning engines or an industrial cleaning business.
How much time are you getting out of a fully charged worx battery? I seem to only get about 10 minutes in the high pressure setting. If I remember correctly you stated about 30 minutes of continuous use but for me that is not the case.
Hi Scott, getting into the detailing business. I have a question, after washing a car do i need to apply iron-x to the paint? Or should i just clay it? Thanks, Eric
you can use iron x if you like but its not needed...a clay bar will work just fine and a little easy on your wallet since your just starting out:)...if you need any help just let me know, i will do what i can to help..much love my friend:)
Hey he has a couple videos of how he applys Iron-X. You should watch it, it's good information. He applys Iron-X first when car has the dust and dirt on it. Let's it dwell for 3-5 minutes. Rinses off car and then cleans it. It will make clay bar easier with less work, which means less marring and scratching the paint
thats funny you ask:)...i would use it all the time in the years past and i think its a good detail spray but now we have some better detail sprays on the market but i still think its a good product..i was going to make a video about it in the future:)
Dallas Paint Correction & Auto Detailing looking forward to your review on that I use it all the time but since I just purchased a new vehicle I am wondering should I use something different more advance now.
Sorry but that garden hose washer you have won't do much with cleaner. I have used many different products over the years with good results and yes even Walmart supertech will work .You put the vehicle in the air (if possible) and coat the underside too. Move to the top Bay and pressure wash then go underneath to the oil pan block etc. You let any of them (spray cleaners)sit for about 5-10 minutes then use a good gas/electric pressure washer. Make sure to cover the alternator. You will be happy and suprised on how a 40 year old oil leaking engine will look new again.
hey for a $1.94 a can it could be great for light to moderate cleaning..plus i love cleaners that cling..i could see buying this product for light duty...it will not break the bank and i think it did OK and thats cool for 1.94:)
HA HA HA nothing much just telling him I buy Super Tech wiper blades at Walmart and they work for me,I used to use the Anco they used to have better than paying for the high priced ones.
Maybe you can point me in the right direction, which degreaser would you recommend? I have lots of oil and finger marks in my engine bay (had to replace my head so it got quite dirty under there) but I'm a bit skeptical! Any input is appreciated!
i like super clean degreaser in a aerosol or by the concentrate ....other options would be meguiars super degreaser...both degreasers work very well and they rinse clean and easy...hope that helps:)
the earth is absorbing many chemicals my friend that i can't control...just drive down any highway or look at the clouds when it rains and see all the chemicals falling from the sky...sad but true
The dual spark plugs were common on the 4 cyl rangers. It was actually a Mitsubishi engine. I had a 92 Ranger it had the same set up, very reliable engine.
I agree with several other comments, YOU ARE KILLING THE TRUCK. Way way to much water in there dude, now it will have accelerated the rusting process now there is more moisture to hurry it along.
Lol the little extra work with some engine degreaser and let it sit for 5 or so minutes and scrub for 5 or 10 mins and then u pressure or water hose is what I use...
@@JeremyMDZ96 it wasnt perfect lol. Wasnt looking to get it "show room ready" just rid if the salt/ sand dust. I do want to take some vinigar and clean my battery up good though.
Best: rinse off the loose dirt with nonpressured water and wipe surfaces dry with a rag. I give you an F for using a chemical cleaner and pressurized water. Engine bays don't need through cleaning because they will be dirty after just a few miles.
I use this product all the time mainly on small engines weed eater, lawn mowers etc I always let it sit and it does way better week then what you've done here. Unfortunately what you just did was make a product look bad by not allowing it the time it needs to work properly.
i know right:)...but hey for 1.94 a can, it could be cool for door jambs and a good cleaner for lightly soiled engines and you like a cleaner that can cling to the surface..its so cheap and i love foam cleaners plus the advantage of pushing a button instead of squeezing a trigger after 26 years...my hands are tired..lol
OK, I don't know why you were surprised that the stuff didn't take anything off. You didn't follow the directions. I'm not saying that it would have worked any better if you did wait, but we will never know. If you did follow the directions and it still cleaned poorly you would have a case. I'm certainly not a fan of Walmart, in fact I've never bought anything from there.
You are too generous with your rating. To me that is a D, it did really poorly and the fact it is inexpensive doesn't change anything. It either works or it doesn't and in this case it really failed. You cleaned some of the areas twice and it still remained very dirty. I guess you get what you pay for, but selling a product dedicated to clean engines that actually can't do the work is very bad.
i agree with you...but we also have to agree that the engine was really bad!..all RETAIL engine degreasers really need help with the engine being warm and thats why most say 5 to 15 minute dwell time..this engine doesn't run and it needed to be cleaned so my client could work on the truck so i gave it a B for its price and the fact the engine wasn't warm...i love degreasers that foam and cling to the surface and i could see buying this for light to moderate cleaning for door jambs and even engine bays for a $1.94 a can..but i did knock its rating down to a C because other foaming cleaners around $3.99 are a little stronger...but i totally understand your perspective and as a professional i love super clean in a can because i know it will have my back no matter the level of grease and dirt:)

Dallas Paint Correction & Auto Detailing that's what we like about you Scott if it doesn't work maybe it can be used somewhere else. Helping them save money. All the best!
Thats not totally true. If you have a product that cost $20 vs $2 and the $2 one works just as good on a lightly soiled engine then there's no point in using a $20 product for that. Now if you have an engine bay that's as dirty as this one and you have to do the process 2-3 times to get the same results as one go with the $20 cleaner then the more expensive one might make more sense.
Maybe that is why they give you a set dwell time, it did not say spray and scrub right away.
That's what I was thinking👍😂
