Oh My!!!!! Because of this very video, I bought 1 can of super clean, and cleaned my Tacoma engine that has never been cleaned since new, I only used a water hose and a shop vacuum to suck water out of valleys, and I'm blown away how clean it looks now, it took a hole 20 minutes to have sparkling engine. Thank you
I love this video for this reason: Scott cleaned that engine bay in real time and it only took about 12 minutes to do it! These are the videos we need to see so we know how long these steps actually take so that those of us getting ready to start our own businesses(Moi) know how long these jobs should take. On a side note though, Scott probably took longer to dress the engine than he did washing it, but that's ok since the final details always take the longest...
I washed & detailed trucks for 5 yrs using the exact same method only 1 would start the truck straight after finishing to dry of any water that got into any crevice or wiring etc & it works very well.
Good job buut, always disconnect the battery so you don't end up with an electrical short. Engines are made to take on water, from the bottom. The components are made water tight however, over time their seals loosen up the to heat etc. And the pressure washer may not have been your best bet.
I 100% agree on that assessment that’s why I gave this video a thumbs down. I can’t even imagine the amount of water that was forced into all the electrical connections because of the high pressure. OMG!
I definitely would have protected those caps on the battery from the super clean. Car batteries are not sealed 100%. Those caps are actually vents for the battery, and has a high potential of letting in pressurized water or air if aimed at it. Free flowing water would have been better on the battery IMO. Distilled water, no big deal. A cleaner or anything else is super bad inside a battery. I would have removed the battery caps and cleaned all the excess water & possibly super clean out before ever pulling out the blower. Probably topped off the battery at no charge, since I had some distilled water left over. Scott, knows what I mean. I Love the Super Clean product
Scott: Love the videos. I noted the your reason for using the aerosol SuperClean is to that you don't have to do all of the pumping using a trigger sprayer. What about using the SuperClean liquid concentrate diluted appropriately in a small pump up sprayer? That seems much more cost effective and you don't have the waste of disposing of empty aerosol cans.
I see a lot of people in these comments saying how they clean *their own* equipment when all it costs them is time - when you're doing it for a living, you do what the customer pays you to do. Lots of free work will put you out of business when everyone starts to expect you to work for free. You can work for yourself for free all you want, so what if it takes you an entire afternoon or the whole day, you're not paying for someone else's time or a very specific service. When you go in an pay for an oil change, do they also change your plugs, wires, etc, for free?
Anyone else notice that one of the front grille clips was loose and removed at 1:33, another disappeared with the blower at 1:52, and a third one is missing when he's scrubbing it at 4:22? Hopefully he didn't ignore them! You should at least collect them and give them back to your customer.
what you didn't know was the car was in an accident and the front grill was going to be replaced and all the clips were broken or hanging on for dear life...this was discussed at length with customer before the engine bay was cleaned..i didn't ignore them but i also wasn't worried about them either:)...sorry you didn't have all the facts..im well aware of what I'm doing at all times:)
You never mentioned that so it's not unreasonable for him to bring up. I was wondering the exact thing and would have been furious had I noticed them missing. Anyway, good job. Just trying to keep everyone honest... :D
He is showing us how to clean a car using superclean spray. There is no need to mention about missing clips. Actually it's none of your damn business. If you want to watch a video on how to replace clips on grills, look that up.
After watching your video I bought the spray bottle of super clean and I was really impressed with the way it cleaned my engine. Thank you for telling us about this great product!
Great video and nice results. I would go slower with the pressure sprayer instead of going over the engine several times, I would rinse the area until it was free of the detergent. Thanks for posting.
Hi Scott, I watched this about 4 years ago when I was selling an 8 year old Odyssey. I picked your approach out of a number on detailing engine bay. It was great, easy and effective. In fact when the first guy came to see the car, he took it for a ride, came back crawled around underneath and asked me to pop the hood. When I saw his face, he was perplexed - why does the engine look like it just came off the line at Honda? were there leaks, major engine work, etc, etc. Fortunately, the rest of the car showed as mint so I just told him that I detail the car myself and take excellent care of my vehicles. 'Nuff said. Closed the deal right then. I just bought a 2002 Vette convertible. Car is mint exterior. Interior and engine bay need some love. I'll be watching this and some other videos you've done to study up before i start. One question about the roof. It is an OEM replacement in the past 5 years - looks like new. I was thinking of using Ragg Top cleaner and Protectant on my roof. Any experience with this product? Thanks again.
Hey Scott, As always you get to the meat of the problem right away. Love the information you send out to us detailers and as well as weekend warriors!!!!! Always checking out your channel. All the Best from Louisiana. Les
Great video but just cleaning the top cover is cool and all. I’m more interested in seeing a real cleaning underneath. That’s where the trust grease grit and grime reside. Lbs A new watcher to the channel September 2020
@@dallaspaintcorrectionautod8343 So what you are saying is half-ass it. It's only two screws half-of-a-turn to remove the beauty cover. Should be part of the job not an extra.
When I saw 'Super Clean' in the description, I knew I was in for a treat. We use that stuff at my employer's shop, and it's almost a little scary how it strips grease and gunk off machines .. the coolant we use on our CNC machines is REALLY nasty when it starts to break down, and SC is the only thing that cleans it off.
Hi Scott. Jose from Los Angeles. In the world of UA-cam. This is a vintage video. I’m glad you’re doing well. You should get back into the how to polish videos. They never get old. Or high detail on a car. How to leave up paint like glass. Hope you read this. Have an amazing day

@Fox Everett thanks for your reply. I got to the site on google and Im in the hacking process atm. Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
I have watched a couple of your videos. Learned a bit from them. But... number one. If your not removing most of the plastic parts to get down to the actual engine your not cleaning the engine only the plastic and rubber parts. Next what about the bottom? I always go under to clean also!! That cleans up any oil leakage from oil being added and running down the engine. Just something I see. I'm sure your either detailing for a car lot or regular customers. But the job is not complete until the entire engine is clean! Anyway, like your vids. Just had to comment.
the client is given the option for all plastic covers removed but this will cost more since i don't work for free:)..about 95% of all customers just want what we call a top side clean when it comes to engine bay cleaning..my customer wanted this service done, and again that is the norm when dealing with the buying public...but yes i also do FULL engine cleaning for those that request or need it but i always offer and leave it up to them:)
I finally understand! He says he uses distilled water. That is the key. Distilled water does not conduct electricity. That's why he can spray it in an engine and not worry about anything. Regular tap water is a no go, the minerals in the water make the water electrically conductive but distilled water has no minerals.
@@Z00m44 Water doesnt conduct much electricity. The impurities do. Distilled water is even purer than deionized water, so even if the H2O molecules conduct a minuscule amount of electricity, it's basically the same as 25 degrees of Celsius warm air. So you can pour distilled water on a batteri and it wont conduct more than the warm air around it. But you need to be sure it's perfectly distilled. Double distilling will help make the water as close as you'd want it when pouring it on or near a battery, but single distilled will most likely also be enough. A small shower of rain or water, even undistilled, wont short circuit your battery.
@@beersmurff WRONG..ANY H2O will conduct electricity, and the minerals in tap water are NOT a problem. NOW...using distilled water to wash the car and especially rinse it...YES, that would make a difference for no water spots.
Scott, I agree the high pressure hose does a great job, but I was always told high pressure water can get into electronics and cause havic with electrical components. Best to use a garden hose and let the water just free flow. Yes, it's more water but less high pressure.
I would never ever do this while the battery is inside. First remove it. Seal the cables end. if you want to change battery in certain cars, like passat, you have to make sure the battery cables are not touching the car body. My passat under the hood, wasn't cleaned . Looks like 60% of your brand new cleanness.
Removing the battery also opens much more area to cleaning.. After removing the battery foil is the best product to use to protect electronics...after crimping it doesn't move as would 'saran'.
Great job man, car is 11 yo so clips are weak and tend to fall, so as cheap paint on 3.5 normal!!! destilled water will never harm an engine, pointless disconnecting battery due to destilled water used here and clearly mentioned, never remove old car covers as they are burned and will surely brake, good move, that sprayer has a soft pressure so wouldn't cause any harm, great job keep up and thanks for showing your labour, do not pay attentions to harsh kidz we all know them 👍🏼

Your late model cars like this Nissan do have sealed electrical connections to protect from moisture. Your older models do not. I do detailing myself here in Iowa and have been very successful with everything that Ray has advised to do. Some say he talks too much, He just wants to make sure you understand what he's trying to teach you. He does great work, so, unless you are a pro and can do better, quit complaining and start listening. Who knows, you may make some good money as I have by doing it the right way.
@@mitchelllong5848 I know this is a year old, however, he's using distilled water. Distilled water cannot conduct a current like tap water, so no electrical issues wil occur.

That looks great. I have just one suggestion, though. When flushing the engine bay with water, it is a good idea to pull the negative lead off the battery and cycle the ignition from off to on then back off to drain any stored energy in the computer. You don't want any electronics to short out if water gets inside them and they are somehow powered. I know it's not necessary to do this, but better safe than sorry. An extra 30 seconds or less of work could save some expensive electronics(sensors, switches, computers, etc.). Just a suggestion.
I used to detail funeral home cars. The owner turned me on to super clean to do the engines on the vehicles I had to clean. Even the engine bay had to be cleaned twice a year! They had white vehicles with gold trims. The owner taught me how to detail a vehicle and I have cleaned my own vehicle like that every year at least twice a year now I detail it. I do the engine bay every year in the spring to remove salt and mud from the vehicle.
It’s like taking the toaster into a bubble bath, that strange sound and smell when the water starts sizzling....☠️💥🔥⚡️ De badged V6 3.5 Silver Base right off with that powerful cling and closeup power-wash effect.
Certain Honda's would then require a specific 4 digit radio code once the battery is disconnected. This discouraged theft when designed. Also, certain Dodge models have to have their HVAC blend door actuators recalibrated at the dealer if the battery is disconnected. Theres more, but I'll stop there.
I'm a part-time detailer wondering why more clients don't opt for the engine bay service. Can you share some advice on how to sell this service to clients?
its a huge service for me...but perhaps i can talk about how i sell the service on my next engine bay detailing video:)...to be honest i don't have to sell the service, customers just seem to call me about the service but i have a lot of word of mouth help
Convince them that you actually know what's under those plastic covers on top where the $6-9,000 worth of stuff that makes a vehicle move is located and show them a before and after of the engine clock and transmission.
1) Disconnect battery. 2) Don't use pressurized water on an engine not matter the circumstance since it can damage electrical or mechanical parts. 3) I don't think he mentioned this, but make sure your engine is cool. 4) Watch Chris Fix to detail an engine.
Zoltack429 no reason to disconnect battery... This pressure washer is only 300psi.. Everything you stated is from a lack of experience and knowledge:) Who the hell is chrisfix!!
Really? You don't think that putting cold water on a hot engine is bad? You don't think that it's a good idea to disconnect the battery when working in the engine bay and getting water on the battery? And you say I have lack of knowledge and experience? Lol
Scott, I just found your video and I loved it. I don't comment on video's, but I had to on this one because I noticed a very dark spot on the top of your head. I had one like that on my shoulder and thought it was a black freckle. It was precancerous. Please have that checked out by a good dermatologist. Thanks for the Video's. I will be watching more.
Be careful with super clean in the engine bay, it removed my base color down to the primer. I would never have guessed this stuff was stronger than most alkaline-based engine degreasers. I wish that I could go back in time.
I used Superclean and it removed more than just the primer, it removed paint down to the bare metal. That would have been perfect for me under the hood but the problem is it didn't remove the paint evenly, the paint was all spotty, faded, and hideous looking. I spent days and days removing the remaining spotty paint using lacquer thinner. It was a royal PIA. This video is nothing more than a giant affiliate kickback marketing banner. Lame af.
@@stephanparis6887 sorry to hear. Super Clean can be used full-strength on engines, however it should be used diluted on painted surfaces (3 or 4:1) and not allowed to dwell for long. In fact, Super Clean warns to be careful when using it on aluminum, painted, and powder coated surfaces. So it's probably best to just use it diluted and rely on a little more agitation to finish the job and rinse it off relatively quickly on those painted areas.
Even though I usually wash my engine bay with a high pressure water jet, I just want to point out that it's in theory not the amount of water that could be damaging to the vehicle long term. It's the speed(/force/"pressure") that allows the water to penetrate contacts and small gaskets for electronics, that WILL corrode over time. But as I said, I do it this way too.
ABSOLUTELY! Please do, but don't stop until everything is 100% dry. Comment back and let us know how everything worked out. Can't wait to hear about it.
What do you have to cover up to keep from messing anything up? You're spraying really confidently. I want to clean my engine bay but I'm terrified of shorting something out. How do I keep from doing that??
I want to take on this project in an easy way so that the engine is clean and easy to work on. This looks like a good approach. I’m just going to leave plastic covers on too but, i don’t think ill hose the battery and i have to wrap the alternator.
Contrary to popular belief, water is necessary to clean an engine. First rinse with water, a fine mist not a heavy spray to get rid of the hard deposits of dirt and dust. Then mix small amount dish detergent in a spray bottle of Windex, the best grease cutter on the market. Soak it well, let it stand until it drys, then spray with a fine mist of water. Let dry and then repeat. With any chemical used to clean the engine, you should always flush with water. I think you will find that this will do a satisfactory job, for you!
@@paymustaylor4787 what a silly thing to say.. chrisfix is a great teacher but all he does is regergate the information that is already on youtube you bozo
Scott, whenever you use distilled water (pure H2O) it's relatively safe because there are no chemicals in pure H2O to short out your electric components. Tap water from a faucet is usually loaded with calcium and/or sodium which will raise hell with electric components. So, great tip - - use distilled water 💦
You said to ask about particular concerns with this, what about the alternator and electrical components like that...? I would imagine drying it as you did would help, but I would also think to cover it maybe...? Would appreciate any info before I clean my 2005 F-150.
I hope you repainted the V6 3.5 emblem for the Customer. I find it funny you didnt mention you completly pressure washed the paint off. You also didnt remove the battery and cover the cables. No mention about coil packs spark plugs wires or distributors for older cars. People use common sense when cleaning your engine bay, this could potentially be a disastrous experience for many who watch this video.
and you would be wrong..but thats ok:)..the v6 logo was already breaking down because the engine area had never been clean since 2007!..and because it hadn't been cleaned the dirt and contaminates already ruined many areas of the plastic,so thank god they hired me to finally clean the engine so i could stop the damage from years of neglect...your other comments are filled with false statements and i will just move on:)...thanks and best wishes to you:)
Sir , you cannot spray direct water on a distributor cap. Listen the engine bay looks great but there are several precautions one should take while cleaning their engine bay that you made no mention of. Carry on
Anthony D that logo deff got blown off. Even through the grime at the beginning you could see the white paint, after the power washer it was black and chipped away
Mike Raposa the pressure washer might have completed the job but didn’t cause it. That pressure washer is very weak, no way it would remove something like that.
yes it looks better, but there are many (some on UA-cam) that say water spraying is harmful. Especially on newer automobiles, the many connectors are not always sealed as the years go by. corrosion can take place and using distilled water is not a help. pressure sprayers force water into places where it sits and causes corrosion. after saying that, I'll admit that I cleaned my engine last week. I sprayed with Purple Power, quick spray with the water hose (no pressure spray) , blew off with leaf blower and then sprayed with a protectorent from the Chemical Guys..
I would like an answer on that question too Scott. People are uneasy about water messing up elec components, the MAF sensor, and whatever else it could damage, thanks.
If it makes you feel more comfortable you can take a plastic bag and cover up the fuse box/alternator and either cover the battery or just take it out.
pretty much every other engine bay detail I've seen on YT has the first step of covering all electrical connections and electronics with plastic bags to prevent water ingress.
First step: Apply cleaner without brushing and rinse off. Second step: Allow to dry. This will reveal the thick crud. Third step: spot treat the thick crud with cleaner and brushes. . . . This method requires the least amount of time and effort. . . . OCCAM'S RAZOR
Hi I’m a new subscriber, Is it safe to wash the engine like this with all the sensors present? Can the super clean be sprayed on the alternator? I own a newer 2016 Hyundai Elantra. Thanks
Wonderful job and video. I have a 2013 Suzuki Celerio. My car's motor has much expose electrical wires and components. I always want to wash it but this is something that really scares me. There's a lot of things that I don't know what's their porpoise and functions. But, yeah, I want to learn and enjoy how I can detail my own car. Would you like to do a video which explains the most common parts of an engine bay? And how to protect it when we want to wash it? So thank you very much for sharing your experience and wisdom.
Is this really the prudent approach to do it? I've always been told that (1) the distributor (cap) has to be covered with a plastic baggie or aluminum foil (tightly crimped) to keep water out of it and (2) WD-40 to be liberally sprayed to all electrics, esp. connectors, to keep water out .. and then again after the washing is done to drive any stray water that go by out of the electrics. Also, aren't you supposed to start the engine right up and get it fully warm before shutting off, to finish dry everything?
cars dont use distributor caps any more that logic of covering shit is for cars from pre 1980's all modern cars use military spec waterproof connectors
Reason why I detail/work on my own cars. I don’t trust no one, even the best detailers in the world will f... up something. I rather learn how to detail and do it myself.
I expected you to use a far less vigorous rinse especially around electrical components. I'll not use your method, if I clean the engine at all, but I guess that can work. Thanks.
spray & wipe tire foam on all plastic & rubber surface for extra protection, then you can just spray the engine bay every 2 months when you check the fluids
Scott, really enjoyed this real-time demo. A thought - It might be possible to reduce even further the amount of water used to rinse cleaner if you worked your spray in only one overall direction, e.g. start at the front of the bay (radiator cover area) and work your rinsing movement back to the firewall. You might net a little less water in the engine bay. I think "less" is always good when it comes to water in an engine bay. :-)
Quick question... I always understood and was told to always disconnect my battery before purposely putting water in the engine bay, is it needed? And also, I was told to never use a pressure water or anything that applies lots of forced water, I was always told to use a spray bottle of water and wipe it down, or to just use a simple water hose nozzle? Does this make a difference?
Survivor 98 everything you listed is correct and would be done by any good properly trained auto detailer. I know detailers that would cringe from watching this and seeing him work. Some people actually care about their cars and don't want someone as careless as this. You want some real quality information go watch Larry at AMMO NYC. The guy is one of the best. He literally details multimillion dollar cars. He has tons of videos showing how to do everything the right way.
i actually cringed pretty hard on this one :O the f*** is he doing!!?? :S "If you are going to use pressure washer dont use it so close....the guy in this video dont care about his customers at all.
I clean my engine cars since 35 years and haven't disconnect my batteries cars ever, and nothing happen bad ever, and there is no need to disconnect them, just clean and drive safe, thats all
No you don't. I've detailed cars for about 17 years and have never disconnected the battery and have never had any problems what so ever! You just have to know what your doing have the correct mist nozzle...
I couldn't see greasy grime, but a lot of dry dirt, which if clay is a cleaning challenge. When its facia is literally falling off, a vehicle is indeed hammered. I'd be very cautious to avoid getting blamed for previous negligence. That was sufficient reason for making a video. As far as the product used, I clean engines before working on them I found that aerosol cans are hard to use for getting below those ridiculous plastic shrouds and into where the heavy grime is. I use a pressurized tank with a thin flexible 10 ft hose and two compact attachments, a foamer and a sprayer. When I run out of Zep degreaser, I'll try the Superclean liquid.
Lots of people fear shorting out the battery, which is why not a lot wash they're own engine bays. But as long as you don't use too high a pressure for an extended period of time, you should be ok. I'm about to use some similar tools to clean out my poor old Subaru. I'll use a plastic bag to be safe, but people with more experience don't really need to.
Yours was the comment i was looking for! Not only the electricity being a REAL issue but what about the housing for the battery NOT being cleaned!? They hide ALOT of dirt AND...AND, the whole battery needs to be wiped down and you can't do that while it's still in the engine bay! He MUST HAVE BEEN TIRED when he did this vehicle. I know i wouldn't spend that kind of money for someone to do a half ass job because they were tired.

I was thinking of using Ragg Top cleaner and Protectant on my roof. Any experience with this product? Thanks again.
Great video. I live in an apartment complex with a built in garage and I will definitely buy the Worx pressure washer for my detailing needs
Smart using distilled water. No metals in it for corrosion on electrical parts and no water spots. Love your channel man!!!! 🤘✌️
Hey Scott, As always you get to the meat of the problem right away. Love the information you send out to us detailers and as well as weekend warriors!!!!! Always checking out your channel. All the Best from Louisiana. Les

Thank you for this. Quick, thourough, and respectable. Good job.

Great video but just cleaning the top cover is cool and all. I’m more interested in seeing a real cleaning underneath. That’s where the trust grease grit and grime reside. Lbs A new watcher to the channel September 2020

Thank You for this easy no frills method. Used it on my 08 FJ and it now looks spectacular without taking much time.
I do mine at the car wash, spray with the low pressure presoak and rinse with low pressure spot free rinse, fast and easy, never had a problem.
Oh yeah ... Still no issues ? I wanna clean my 2014 and don't need problems is there anything you could tell me ?

John Pangelinan I noticed that too but then he did mention he was tired and wanted to get home.
Hi Scott. Jose from Los Angeles. In the world of UA-cam. This is a vintage video. I’m glad you’re doing well. You should get back into the how to polish videos. They never get old. Or high detail on a car. How to leave up paint like glass. Hope you read this. Have an amazing day
I use Simple Green. Doesn’t have the clinging ability, but it is cheap, effective, and non-toxic. As a avid DIY’er, been using it for years.

Nice and quick, you have this one done right. Fifteen minutes to a clean engine isn't too shabby.
Aside from not protecting vulnerable electrical components and removing the paint from the plastic V6 3.5 lettering, you did a good job.

@Abram Rowan you are welcome xD
Dallas Paint Correction & Auto Detailing
Makes since!! Wasn't trying to down anything. Just wasn't understanding...
I finally understand! He says he uses distilled water. That is the key. Distilled water does not conduct electricity. That's why he can spray it in an engine and not worry about anything. Regular tap water is a no go, the minerals in the water make the water electrically conductive but distilled water has no minerals.
Less minerals then tap water but I think you're confusing deionized water with distilled water. Distilled will still conduct electricity.
@@Z00m44 correct i think as long as there is a chemical bond (h2o) it can conduct electricity...
@@siseley1 H2O doesnt conduct much electricity. the impurities do. Try look it up before you start shouting misinformation.
Scott, I agree the high pressure hose does a great job, but I was always told high pressure water can get into electronics and cause havic with electrical components. Best to use a garden hose and let the water just free flow. Yes, it's more water but less high pressure.
Except that the water sprayer in the video is not high pressure, it's low pressure and he is using distilled water.

I like the idea of using little water to get this done. Then avoiding obvious trouble spots like the alternator.

Shouldn’t you disconnect the battery first?
Certain Honda's would then require a specific 4 digit radio code once the battery is disconnected. This discouraged theft when designed. Also, certain Dodge models have to have their HVAC blend door actuators recalibrated at the dealer if the battery is disconnected. Theres more, but I'll stop there.
This is why he is using distilled water... Distilled water is not conductive.

1) Disconnect battery. 2) Don't use pressurized water on an engine not matter the circumstance since it can damage electrical or mechanical parts. 3) I don't think he mentioned this, but make sure your engine is cool. 4) Watch Chris Fix to detail an engine.

Thanks for the video!
If I don’t have a leaf blower, can I just drive down the interstate with my hood open??

What do you have to cover up to keep from messing anything up? You're spraying really confidently. I want to clean my engine bay but I'm terrified of shorting something out. How do I keep from doing that??
If you disconnect the battery then you don't have to worry about what gets wet. Just make sure you dry things out really well.
I want to take on this project in an easy way so that the engine is clean and easy to work on. This looks like a good approach. I’m just going to leave plastic covers on too but, i don’t think ill hose the battery and i have to wrap the alternator.
You sound like ray romano 😂, great video brotha 👍

Maaaaa!
Just read a comment saying ChrisFix is a better detailer then you.... gave me a chuckle

Would appreciate any info before I clean my 2005 F-150.
you could just take out the battery, then for the electrical components get some rags, etc to cover them.
Carry on
Anthony D a 2007 Nissan Altima does not use a distributor or cap. It uses coil on plug ignition.
Anthony D that logo deff got blown off. Even through the grime at the beginning you could see the white paint, after the power washer it was black and chipped away
Mike Raposa the pressure washer might have completed the job but didn’t cause it. That pressure washer is very weak, no way it would remove something like that.
Nice raw video. The key is the spray!
I hear that getting the alternator wet is never a good idea. What's your take on that?
Your not supposed to, try not to get your engine sopping wet. That's what I've learned
yes it looks better, but there are many (some on UA-cam) that say water spraying is harmful.
You don't need to protect some of the electrical parts on some cars?
I would like an answer on that question too Scott. People are uneasy about water messing up elec components, the MAF sensor, and whatever else it could damage, thanks.
On modern cars? nope
Just watch out for Cold Air Intakes and modified stuff :)
If it makes you feel more comfortable you can take a plastic bag and cover up the fuse box/alternator and either cover the battery or just take it out.
pretty much every other engine bay detail I've seen on YT has the first step of covering all electrical connections and electronics with plastic bags to prevent water ingress.
Sherukka Nope i pressure wash mine with a 4200 psi washer never had problems and i hit everything yes the alternator too
First step: Apply cleaner without brushing and rinse off. Second step: Allow to dry. This will reveal the thick crud. Third step: spot treat the thick crud with cleaner and brushes. . . . This method requires the least amount of time and effort. . . . OCCAM'S RAZOR

1:53 good bye front grill pin. Why would you pop them and not remove them before blowing the car?

spray & wipe tire foam on all plastic & rubber surface for extra protection, then you can just spray the engine bay every 2 months when you check the fluids
The last time I pressure washed my 2006 impala. Took a while to dry it out to run.
He literally details multimillion dollar cars. He has tons of videos showing how to do everything the right way.
Survivor 98 Yes. High pressure water spray can force water into cables and connections.

When I run out of Zep degreaser, I'll try the Superclean liquid.
any protection on the battery? looks a little bit scary while pressure wash water hits the battery...
the power washer is only 175psi...why is hitting the battery with water so scary?...would love to hear your response:)
