Spike/Buffy [Initiative!AU] - Crashing Down [Buffy The Vampire Slayer]

The second edit which I wrote about in the earlier one. And, in all honesty, the one I am quite thrilled to upload since I never thought I would make a Spuffy AU since they have so many scenes already. It’s just that I am currently getting the episodes in HD with rewatching the show and cutting anything that is possible. I am only on season 4 with cutting what I need but the ideas to smash certain scenes together just developed and this is the result.
We all know Buffy joined and found out about the plans of the Initiative many episodes after Spike escaped from there and so he wrongly accused Buffy to have something to do with his imprisonment. WHAT IF Buffy joined the Initiative sooner and played a part in Spike’s capture? What if she starts to question the experiments there already and plans to free Spike in hoping to gain an ally? Here, this backfires badly. At first. Spike is insulted and flees on its own - only to come back later because he wants revenge for what Buffy did and seeks her out when he returns later to Sunnydale. It goes as expected: Buffy defeating him and dragging him to the Scooby Gang. But he escapes (RIP to Giles’ car) - only for Buffy to catch up with him again. Anyway, remembering his “I like this world”-speech from the season 2 finale, Buffy convinces him that she needs help and he agrees. However, now he is no longer welcome in the demon world and angrily tries to avoid Buffy. This proves rather complicated since an attraction is already there (not me shamelessly using Walsh’s lecture about Freud’s theory of the ID but the opportunity was there :D). What follows is Spike trying to help while also trying to sabotage the blooming relationship between Buffy and Riley. They all take down the Initiative and Buffy admits to herself that she wants to more fun for once and starts a relationship with Spike (let’s pretend they get a more serious relationship for the next season; just let Buffy have a good time). It ends with them getting caught by everyone and, most importantly, present Riley as the clown he is. :D
I also want to dedicate this edit to @MissEleanorVane who I know now many years and who always was a great friend and fantastic editor. Sweetie, your support means everything to me and I deeply apologize that, during the last two years, we haven’t talked much due to life being very turbulent. But I know that you adore Spuffy just as much as I do and if this edit manages to bring a smile to your face, I’d be so blessed. So, I hope you can find some joy in this AU universe. :D

I always liked Spike (since the first time he appeared), how complex the character is
Same! He instantly brought the right amount of danger, humor and intrigue that made his appearance spectacular. And the chemistry between him and Buffy was there from the beginning. It's actually impossible to think that it was planned for him to only appear for a few episodes. It's great his character was kept on the show because he definitely is one of the best TV characters ever written. :)

Ok i'm kind of obsessed with this. I don't think I've ever seen a Spuffy AU in video form before and you did such a good job at rearranging the scenes!!

I think there is a funny little AU from 2009 about them using "Paparazzi" as song and theme. There are also - because I just saw it checking the comments here - several AUs made by the channel loveisntbrains which I totally suggest to check out. 🤩
Amazing edit - Spike has long been one of my top favorite characters, and this highlights the duality of his character, especially where concerns Buffy, amazingly. Excellent work!

Dedicated to ME ??? DEDICATED TO ME, THIS ABSOLUTE PERFECTION AND MASTERPIECE ????? GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD ! I'm breathtaken, sweetie, god!! I didn't expected it at all, and the IDEA ! THE IDEA IS SO SO SO GOOOOOOD. You know me well and my love for these two, and yet I never thought of an Initiative!AU for them and now I have it under my eyes, it's just one of the best ideas that I've ever seen for them and that's what I love so much about you and your editing, you always come with original things, things who blow my mind every time, it's incredible. All the story of the edit ? I'm in, it's so so good, I was hypnotized by the idea, it change their dynamic and in the same time, it's still just... them ? I can't explain how well it works, but bless you so much for erasing Riley of this season 4 and gave us this AU with them, and there's so many good details in this edit, first all of the incredible manips that I worship so much, every single of them, but also, the choice of the song, how you edited it, the pace, EVERYTHING DEAR.
But special mention for how you put that scene with the light who crash down with the lyrics who said "crashing down" at 3:03, this is so so good, I ADORED IT, AND FOR THE BEST MANIP OF THE ENTIRE EDIT (among all of the others who are already so incredible, THAT ONE AT 3:21, AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH ! You know, I will dream of it for WEEKS now, seriously.
And more importantly, thank you very, very much for this, for have dedicate it to me, it touch me a lot and even if we didn't talked much because of life, you know what is incredible and magic ? That we're still here, and that we didn't forget each other despite that. This means the world to me, and I thank you for this more than anything else, you're a wonderful person, never forget it

And I'm also happy about your reaction to the bed scene later. Haha, at least Spike's fling with Harmony is good for something other than the humor. (But, for real, looking at the time Spike got together with Harmony should be right after Dru's speech "You're all covered with her. I look at you and all I see is the Slayer." And what does Spike do? Picks the one person as fling that has hair just like Buffy.)

WOW!!!!!!! Just wow! I can't tell how much I LOVE this. It was so intense, so dynamic, and I adore intensity and dynamic things. It looks so hot, so dangerous, and I would not once question if this is real, if you haven't write that this is an AU! Wow! It all looks so real! And it is so unique! I love all of your Spuffy videos of course, but this is definitely the best one yet! This one is so original, and thank to you, I have seen much more scenes from this show then ever from any edit of this show. (I mean, not more than ever before, I mean, much more than what I've already seen from videos, because there so many new scenes in it, idk, if it makes any sense.)

I also feel like it is my best Spuffy edit yet because I FINALLY had the English speeches right under the scenes (I used German episodes before with speeches I downloaded) and it's so much easier to work with ships once I already edited with them (I always feel like my first-ship-edit are such a mess and I need to get into editing them first, it's weird). Plus, the quality now IS SO MUCH BETTER. 🤣
Even if the original plot about the Initiatve is a bit weak, season 4 still had a lot of the most iconic episodes from the whole show. So I'm happy I could present some scenes from that season to you (except those flashbacks from season 2 with the coloring and two moments with Buffy I took from season 3 plus a scene from the running gag of Spike destroying the town sign.) 😀
