LISTEN to this woman! Dy Ann is a magician. I’ve been fasting 20+ hours most days for 7 weeks, never missing a memory making moment! I am down 18 pounds and my BP was 124/74 and it has been very high for the last 6 years! I have never felt better at almost 54 yo. My husband has lost 20 pounds himself doing an 18/6 after seeing my results. Dy Ann we can’t wait to see how healthy we will be by next year! ❤❤❤❤
Well, I can’t wait either. Keep us all posted. So excited for you!!!
Awesome! 😊
If you dont mind, how are you eating? Do you eat two meals in that 4 hours or do you just do one meal and a snack? I am trying to wrap my head around mostly the amount of what I should plan for.
It really depends. For the most part I’m just eating one meal a day, but that meal is literally anything I feel like eating, including a few cookies if I need something sweet. Some days I’ll have a meal replacement bar to break the fast and then finish dinner no later than 7pm. I will always start my day with black coffee and just water during the fast. I don’t drink any soda but I will drink teas, water or lemonade during the feast with my meal. 20/4 is so amazing. It’s the easiest thing I have ever done. It is so stressful to plan healthy meals and snacks and with 20/4 it is stress free and time and money saving! 2.5 months and going strong!
I can never get tired of listening to you, You introduced me to the simplified approach to living the best life one can ever hope for simply by changing your mindset. This lifestyle is so perfect for women over 50.
Wow, thank you! So good to hear from you today!! ❤️
❤❤😊😊
Don't apologise for being long! The longer the better, can't get enough xx
Thx! I appreciate that.
I found this video very helpful. I’m seeing a change in my body I haven’t seen in years. Thankyou this life style works for me. I been doing the 20 fast feast for 4 for 5 weeks now but at the beginning I didn’t follow completely it’s like taking the training wheels off your not completely sure how this new way of eating is going to affect your body. After two weeks I let go and then I began to see results. My feasting hasn’t been as clean as I usually like so no new weight loss. I want to get below 150. I haven’t seen that for 14 years. Here’s to getting where I want to be. Thank you for bringing this to us. I have something that works.
I’ve been binge watching your videos and doing 20:4 for 2 weeks now, drinking more water has really helped with constipation and I also think my hot flashes have gone down. Thank you
That is awesome!
Her class is totally worth it!
Jan 2023 grad here! Jump into Dy Ann's wonderful class! It changed my life and it can change your life too!
Thanks for the refresher info via Q&A, Dy Ann! It's always good to hear this valuable info again.
I never het tired of hearing your expertise and enthusiastic attitude! 😊😊
Love the way you teach us to think vs dependence on you. Community and these teachings keep me motivated.
YAY, you answered the question I messaged you about! 🎉Although just a few weeks in, I am loving the 20:4 fasting LIFESTYLE! It is easy, I think less about food, no feeling of deprivation.. just AWESOME! Inflammation/bloating has decreased. Everyday I look forward to what the state of autography will do/is doing for me (inspiration to stay the course😉). Turns out I had already purchased the same supplements you suggested in the link. THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING 🤍
Yay! Thank you!❤️
@@DyAnnParham😊🎉
Love your message...gives us all hope! Do you eat two full meals in the four hour window or a snack and one meal? I am trying to wrap my head around what amount of food in four hours and how to divide it up. I hope you dont mind me asking...Keep up the great work!
Great information, Thank you!!
Great video. Thank you!
Glad you liked it!
Sleep is difficult when I eat low-carb or keto- adding l-theanine at nite helps but sugar and high carb meal guarantees sleep. This is prob habit from years of eating ice cream, chips etc before bedtime.and yes, i was diagnosed diabetic since 2001. Off meds for 7 yrs.
Your videos are always so full of great content that helps so much! Thank you!❤
You are so welcome!
Fantastic video 😊 answered all my questions. Thank you 🙏 🎉
So glad!
Great video and information! Thank you!!!!❤

I find you and other different nutritional experts and coaches very helpful. Everyone is different, it’s helpful to see different opinions and experiences (to help) find out what work’s personal for me.

Great class. I like it this long. I missed the questions and answers part so much. So many good answers I needed to hear again. Listening Dyann for long time, I know the answers, but of course I don’t remember and mess up my IF sometimes.
This is definitely a keeper and I should listen to this every week no matter what!
Thank you Dyann ❤
Glad it was helpful!
It is always helpful because you don't give us the answers. You give us the information to find the answer for our individual selves.

@@sofondadavis5028 hey girlfriend!!
Great video! ❤🎉
Thank you!! ❤️
New here 😊Thank you, thank you. I like the “common sense” on this whole approach. Along with “listen to your body”, “if it doesn’t work, why continue to do it?”. So much I learned… growing up in church we’ve done fasting, but never really took the time to understand it fully. Now I know! Now I know why a certain family member, although went through a couple major surgeries due to an accident, has wowed the doctors. She asked for the smallest amount of meds needed, at the most ibuprofen… they honored her request… and to this day she is still pretty healthy despite what the accident caused and is adamant about fasting…
So thank you for shining a light for me, now the 20hrs does not seem to be the “hunger monster” I have to fight .. 😂
God bless you for the insight you provide ❤
20 hours is where the MAGIC happens. ❤️
Nov/22 grad. Excellent video, thanks Coach.
You're welcome!
It is the feasting window that gets me…. Some say only eat hard boiled egg for a few hours so it hard to figure out what foods you should eat when you break your fast and how much
Hard boiled eggs, why? Just eat good, healthy food you enjoy.
We mike cola meal plates for ideas. Focus on protein then...
Eat a variety of foods you enjoy, mostly whole foods/minimally processed and pay attention to how they make you feel after you eat. It’s doesn’t have to be hard or complicated.
I’m on day 5 of my 20 hour fast
I feel really good!
Love it
Hello. Living in wine country and loving a glass of wine, can I have this during the eating time. ❤️🌷
I am still considered being in the perimenopause stage because I have not yet gone a full year without a period. It has been approximately 5 months since I last had a period. I never had a weight issue until I started into perimenopause. Then the weight just started packing on. It used to be if I ate healthy, any weight I had gained, I could easily lose. That is no longer the case. I have tried everything and cannot lose more than 3 pounds. Losing even 3 pounds is almost impossible. I went from 135 pounds to 187 pounds in a matter of approximately 5 years. My weight has been as high as 197 pounds. I almost qualified for gastric bypass surgery; however, I fell just short of the requirements. My BMI was something like 134 and my BMI needed to be more than 135 to qualify. I am not yet pre-diabetic, but I'm sure I'm headed that way. I do have high blood pressure. I'm at my wits end with all of this weight. I feel horrible majority of the time, I am super fatigued, struggle with breathing sometimes, and I can't sleep well. My doctor has run tests but can't find anything wrong. I believe it all is connected to my weight. Unfortunately, my insurance does not cover any weight loss medications either. Your video about Intermittent fasting 20/4 has certainly piqued my interest and given me hope. I am going to give it a try. I am up to 189 pounds now, so what I have I got to lose. Thank you for giving me hope. You have such great information and knowledge on the topic. Thanks for sharing.
Your story sounds alot like mine. Hormonal imbalances play havoc and if that what's happening it's almost impossible to lose weight for most ppl. I joined Dy Ann's class MAY 3RD and thanking God I did. I learned ALOT of beneficial info to use with intermittent fasting. I'm down 10 lbs and have renewed hope setting out on my journey to good health and longevity.
Hello. Does lemon in our water in our fasting window knock us out of fasting ? Thank you 😊
I am going to chime in on this if you dont mind. I dont know if it does or not, I have seen this question thousands of times. Since it seems to be a debatable topic, I just squeeze half a lemon on my salad, fish or whatever I am eating. If it wont work on my food, I just squeeze it in my water. In other words, I use it AFTER I break my fast.
The best motivation to fast 6 days, is to go buy a pair of jeans, slacks, or a shirt that is just a bit too small for you to comfortably wear.
Your reward for fasting and eating OMAW (yes, one meal per week) is losing weight and being able to fit in that particular item of clothing. Weigh yourself every day and put on that clothing. The more you see that scale tip downward and that item of clothing get a little bit more comfortable to wear, the more you will want to remain disciplined. It really is mind over matter and being disciplined.
You fast to FIT.
@@28FlyingDutchman we don’t believe that here.
thank you for this and for your work! I love your approach-I have been following people with the fast to eat whatever you want during the feasting window and I gianed a BUNCH of wait as a menpopausal woman! I am thinking of joining your couse but have a couple of questions-is there somewhere that I can send the questions?
dyann@fortodaysagingwoman.com we would love to have you!
Are you concern about eating enough protein in your feasting window…. In your feasting window are you taking a break in your hours of feasting….like you break your fast at 20 hrs then you eat again 3 hrs later and then when the total of 4 hrs block is completed…. You go back into the 20 hrs of FASTING….. THANKS 🙏🏽
Thank you for this very informative video! I found you about a month ago and have been following the 20:4 fasting program since then--I really like it, and have been getting great results. I have a couple of questions: 1. Should I mix up the fasting window or is it good to just stick with the 20:4 unless there's a special occasion? I'm asking because my friend who is doing IF tells me you have to "trick" your body with different schedules. 2. How much water do you recommend a typical person should drink on the 20:4 fast? What role does water play in helping your body heal during the fasting window? Again, thank you for your work!
I teach you that in class!!!
You have to do the class that's the best you can do for your self.
Hello, thank you for your videos!
I’m 55 years old and started the 20-4 fasting ; I start with breakfast at 9am, sometimes I’ll have a snack but lunch is at 1pm, so I’ll finish eating at1:30. Is this correct? Is it considered a 20 hour fast? Or should my last meal end at 1pm?
Thanks for this Dy Ann really enjoyed this please do more x
Thank you! Will do!
Would 2 coffee spoons of MCT oil in black coffee break the fast ?
I've got to get better at getting my collagen back in...ugh
Was there talk show today, 6/3??? I can’t find it. I’m listening this one for maybe third time 🤦♀️😳
No there was not. I did post on my community tab!
ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxctzXkJyNg7TBZNsolXmt-UDj_vdXmKZI?si=uR1BkVt4aDr2z2gU
Is it okay to drink organic apple cider vinegar during the 8 hour clean fasting time of my day?
What are your thoughts on Maria Emmerichs protocols?
No thoughts. I coach on and follow the 20/4!
I like a quick squirt of lemon juice in my water. No sugar. No additives. Just frozen lemon juice. Is that ok to drink in the fasting state?
Please go to the 8:25 mark in the video I discuss what a clean fast is!!
What beverages can be consumed during the fasting window?
I discuss that at around the 8:30 mark
When you say clean fast if I wake up in the morning and have lemon water and my apple cider vinegar capsule & turmeric capsule & B 12 supplements does that take me out of a clean fast ? After that I Have blk coffee one hour later . Then nothing but water for 18 to 20 hours
Yes it does break a clean fast. But that might not be a problem for you.
So I’ve been doing Primal Collagen in decaf mushroom coffee. It’s flavorless. Would that be ok? It has no sugar. 40 calories and 10 grams protein. Made of bovine collagen peptides. Is this impactful? To be safe I will move the collagen to my feast time now! I have been trying 16 hour fast with not much luck. Perimenopause working against me! Just stumbled on your info so will make the switch.
@@ElizabethNkuoJohnson you have to test it. Take it out if your luck changes then you found your answer. If nothing ch ages it not have a negative impact. 20 hours will be a game changer
I always do a long fast but gain or maintain or a pound after refeeding l have looked at what l eat and can't figure out what l am doing wrong l go from 186 to 187 for the last 3 weeks help!
What is a long fast?
Quel est le meilleur moment pour choisir la plage de 4h , est-le soir, le matin , l’après-midi ?
It depends on your life. What works best for you.
Also 20 hours of fasting gives 4 hours of eating. You need at least 4 hours between meals so again...how does this work in 20 hour fast?
If that advice was true less people would be sick and overweight.
Hi just came across you been doing this for a couple years 16 to 20 fasts. I recently started carnivore what are your feelings on doing both? Ive been doing eggs, canned milk with gee in my coffee in mornings and some oranges every now and then.
I say if it works for you then it works for you! That is all that matters.
So doing at least 12 hours fasting before bulletproof coffee
@@roseangus7290 bulletproof coffee breaks a clean fast. If you are good with that and are getting results that is fine too!
It seems to I feel better when i add the canned milk i noticed my hair grows better with it and my energies good with it....
Our body starts to react to less food and begins to enter starvation mode. How can daily 20 hr fasting be beneficial? Curious.
That is NOT true!
75 years old. Taking medications every 12 hours, it must be taken with food. Any ideas on how to fit in 20 hour fast?
I talk about that exact thing in the video. Ask your doctor for food recommendations that would cause a glucose spike
@@DyAnnParham do you mean that “won’t,” cause a glucose spike?
What I do with my medication that I have to take in my fasting window: I take it with one boiled egg and black coffee and carry on with my fast, until my eating window opens. I saw it somewhere on a Jason Fung video, and I still get my fasting benefits. Maybe you can try, and see if it works for you?
Thank you so much! Will try 😁 ❤
Do you recommend a 20 hour fast to someone who easily loses muscle?
Why are you losing muscle?
What can be done about nausea. It’s a problem I get during the day ?
@@augustahansen8227 water and salt
thank you @@DyAnnParham I put a bit of salt on my tongue when I become nauseous but lately it has been so often.
Is Mushroom coffee ok?
You have to test it out.
24 hr fast=starve. Slowlybstartc16:8, eventually Try 22:2 weight loss will be slow.
How many yrs have you been overweight?
Are electrolytes in water ok
Sure. If your goal is a clean fast. Makes sure they are clean. If you are fasting for other benefits of fasting. As long as they don’t cause a glucose spike you are good.
Most electrolyte powders have a high amount of sugar. I would avoid that. Water or coffee only.
@@28FlyingDutchman that is not true. You are just choosing the wrong ones.
What are your thoughts on an occasional cheat day?
Do you have a video about carnivore
And fasting?
I teach a course in fasting www.fortodaysagingwoman.com/find-out-more and I am not a carnivore.
Food should never be "enjoyable", tasty, etc. We make eating such a social part of our lives and that is the wrong approach. Food is a means to an end, and that purpose is to keep our bodies going. You eat simply the absolute bare minimum to keep going. Nothing more, nothing less.
We are so focused on eating to fill a void, to taste something, etc. Such a wrong approach. Eat once every 6 days (yes, DAYS) Eat 1-2 ounces of plain chicken breast, plain turkey, or fish. No carbs, no sugar, no alcohol, no dairy, no fruits, no veggies, no coffee. Water only.
Remember, you don't eat for the enjoyment, you eat to charge your body. Just like a job, you don't live to work, you work to live. It's a means to an end.
@@28FlyingDutchman yeah, we don’t believe that here. Food should be enjoyed just for the right reasons.
@DyAnnParham our ancestors in the nomadic/caveman era did not eat for tastebud satisfaction. That's one of our biggest issues. Watch people when they go out to eat. They overeat, overindulge, etc. Our society is all about food, food, food. Eating out, ordering takeout, delivery, etc. Holidays are all about, eat, eat.
Our cavemen ate only what they needed and when because they needed energy to move on to the next location/locate their next prey. That's what we should get back to.
@@28FlyingDutchman you can believe that. We don’t live that way here.
@DyAnnParham no issues there. Just passing on my thoughts and what works for me. I've seen plenty of comments from others lamenting the fact they can't lose weight, yet they binge when their fasting window ends, or they are adding lots of sugar and cream to their coffee. The little things add up. It really is about being disciplined and not allowing our taste buds to control us. Seeing numbers go down on a scale or looser fitting clothes is motivation for many.
@@28FlyingDutchman eating 1 meal a week is not the solution.
