I really wish Yamaha would update the unitwith two additional inputs for overhead mics etc.
Yeah I think on the next version whenever they do it a couple features like that would be awesome
The 2nd and 1st in the order are really good. It works nicely as a fat mic that happens to get a nice stereo pan of the kit.
Thank you for making the video. I think it's a pretty cool idea to come up with some mounting positions for the EAD
However, I trust Yamaha engineering and I do believe the intended use is mounted directly on the bass drum, which in turn for that reason sounds the best.
I definitely think thinking out of the box for different sounds is an awesome way to go about doing anything with studio and music, so this video is pretty cool.
However, the best sound is the way it's intended on the base drum mounted.
All sound great but I think the last ones the best.
2nd, 1st, 3rd.
Mix all three.
How about the reso hoop of the bass drum?
that would leave your snare and hats out i think
The overhead position might be better to use at a band rehearsal coz you hear more if the guitars coming through? Get more a room sound
On the base drum hoop, its a designed factory position!
I have my ride basically right over my kick, cause my rack toms are offset to the left of my kick and I'm worried the ride could be overpowering on the batter side; I'd like to see them do it on the reso kick rim
I think El estepario has settled this for us all.
The guy with the crazy chops that always overplays on every song? Didnt know he used one.
@@arbogast4950 Well, he is overplaying to make a point, not because he doesn't understand the concept. I think he must have 50 videos done one the 10. Thats why he doesn't use toms, because of the ead sound pick up, and it looks cool.
Try hit the rack Tom with that mic under it , the Tom overpowers everything lol .
Great mic tho
Wonder if this would work on guitar cabinet
We’ll have to give that a go and see!
@@BlackBridgeSound sounds awesome on drums ya that would be awesome acoustic guitar and electric and vocals should work
We toasted up a video today using the EAD10 on a guitar cab!

1) 😂×7⁵!!!
2) …The second one.
Fantastic room mic
None of them. Use three separate mics.
Bruh
Much more unnecessary work with that. Maybe some people dont want a laptop, interface and wires running all over the place? Dumb comment bud
@@RichL4899 Maybe people want quality, controllable sound and aren't afraid to patch a few extra cables to achieve it? Lazy comment bud
@@fleatactical7390 cool thats up to you but that doesn’t even make you a better drummer. Nice drumming content too on your page. Really supports your comments lmaoo
@@RichL4899 Who said I'm a drummer? We're talking about sound engineering here, Skippy. I don't have any content on my channel because I'm not interested in posting any. That doesn't invalidate my argument.
