I learned a lot from this, I think it is very true that most INFPs overdo our value-based judgements a lot of the time, I see a lot of this in other INFPs as well as myself - and it's definitely something to be aware of because it can really be unbalanced and detrimental to our lives. And yes - it is about feeling the anxieties and feelings, but not letting them take control of our actions. This is something I try to be very aware of.
As an ISTJ, I use stoicism every day. Although, I admit that I conflate this with the newer interpretation of stoicism as suppressing negative emotions, absorbing the environment around me instead of fighting against it, and just remaining as emotionally neutral as possible. This version is useful for me.
It might be fruitful to define your terms at the outset of each video. There are a variety of definitions for each term, and your comments will be most meaningful if your initial point of view is known. But, just as they are, your videos are stimulating and thought provoking. Thanks for making them.
Practicing Vipassana meditation makes it easy to follow stoic principles. Because then you don't decide to try stoicism, you simply become stoic. But learning stoic principles are absolutely necessary, because that wisdom makes you want to carry on, otherwise the changes brought to your brain chemistry (which compliments stoic principles), can be short lived. I wish everyone who reads this comment to have a fulfilled life.
i think that the most valuable thing in this video is that infp's are overdoing the value based - decisions, but the hard thing is to understand what decisions in your life are over valued and what are reasonably valued.
While this way of thinking (e.g. what I interpret as INFP mindset) is completely different from mine, this is giving me great insight into other peoples' points of view! Thank you!
I have given myself to the process and achieved the progress you describe. Took me a while but at the age of 26 I feel like I've gotten a good grasp of how to use these tools and cultivate myself with them. Not always easy tho.
I love the examples. The hero can't wait for right feeling. Video and Self don't have to be perfectly appealing to all the viewers. Texting/Search for positive feeling from the other. The last one is somehow the most challenging/painful one. It sends me right into processing . It's hard to think and breath in that stage. It's not a good feeling, but neither is this Erin's fault, nor is it going to stay down there. When the inner conflict is resolved the future moments will be much clearer emotionally and well serving.
Erin, I think you could benefit by reading Fritz Perls. He was a fascinating man who won the Iron Knights Cross in WWI as a combat medic. He became a MD psychoanalyst and PhD in psychology, founding Gestalt therapy. This is the precursor for much of the modern encounter and human potential movement, ala Esalon in California.
pulling back on your hero …. i’m getting a picture of jazz here. the musician with the solo part who taking a lead part for the time, steps down so that another musician can have a turn leading the band.
As an ENTP, there is something cute and innocent I like about INFPs, but I don’t trust them because of their habit of getting stuck in their heads due to Fi. I just don’t want to take that risk. I wish I could teach people to be stoic because it just comes naturally to me.
It is a personality type. From a google search: INFP (Mediator) is a personality type with the Introverted, Intuitive, Feeling, and Prospecting traits. These personality types tend to be quiet, open-minded, and imaginative.
Yep im in love dont worry im chill ill just subscribe and write a pseudo creepy novel that is loosely based on my taste in women who wear glasses and have a natural look😂😂😂
You're the complete opposite of me. In my 50+ years of singing and playing in bands, I was always most comfortable performing in front of a crowd. Perhaps it's because I'm in a much older generation.
:20 Okay, I'll say you are seriously cute and extremely intelligent! A bit off topic but I'm sure a major portion of your subscribers would agree with me! Hey y'all, give a thumbs up if you agree with me.👍

Are you an INFP? As an INFP, it probably makes sense why I enjoy your videos a lot.
@@Hero_Of_Old INFP indeed
Thank you, Erin! Your well considered presentations are greatly appreciated.

Once again, excellent work Erin. Insightful, thoughtful, smart. Educational. I enjoy your posts. Thank you.

Interesting - Thanks!

Good analogy 👏
Many seem to know very well what they are and what they carry.... I would like to be able to identify with that.

But that personality model is not reliable, right?
