"Students scare employees?" - literally that girls conceptual understanding of that situation is that she's a child and they're adults. She doesnt even realize she is an adult.
I've come to realize that virtually all asshole behavior boils down to a victim complex: people who were probably treated poorly (victimized) as children who don't realize that they aren't the victims in every situation once they become adults, and are in fact capable of being victimizers themselves. It's what lies at the core of narcissism and other cluster B personality disorders.
IKR? These are the same type of people that see a difference of opinion as an aggressive act. The simple thing to do is establish the whole building as a safe space where no one can offer an opinion of any kind. Ridiculous , Huh.
Idk why, not like a single one of them actually worked to get there. Nobody who busted their ass studying for a degree that actually matters is wasting their time with this nonsense.
I bet most of them didn't even know there was a code of conduct standards that they agreed to when they stated at the college. I think more colleges need to either have a code of conduct or create one.
w vanyar Most, if not all colleges, have a student code of conduct. It’s a policy they can use to dismiss students for behavior that does not reflect the values of the college. All students are responsible to be aware and knowledgeable of the code of conduct. This video shows a lot of grace toward the students and gives them an opportunity to correct their violation of the code and stay in school.
Lol I went to OSU in 2016 and I didn't even know this occurred. I looked up a Columbus Dispatch article and this protest was all over the place. One group protested Israel's mistreatment of Palestinians; another protested that food served at OSU's meal halls were mostly from corporate/heavily processed sources; another group protested OSU's toying with the notion of outsourcing its utilities to outside companies, which would cost OSU employees their jobs. This must be why this protest didn't accomplish much in the long-run; if you want people to listen to your demands, you need a united message accompanied by logical/reasonable demands. Just randomly occupying a space asking for a million, seemingly unrelated, demands isn't going to sway minds. It's just going to piss people off.
It is nice how you actually addressed the issues and context of the protest. Almost everyone else in the comment section is a bunch of uneducated conservative fools who have no interest in what is actually going on. I am not saying the protest was justified. I am saying one should at least be interested in the context, not simply supporting administration because they like to see college students scolded.
AeroNevin "they are not immature they just don’t agree with him and are protesting" this comment pissed a lot of people off I didn't know what was going on when I said it and honestly fuck anyone who was triggered by my comment.

Damn, huge credit to that guy for how he handled this. Never lost his cool, never backed down or caved. Gave the students a chance to speak as soon as they raised their hands, but made it clear he wasn't negotiating or playing around. Good for him!
Don't forget how the guy next to him at 2:16 even managed to jump in and regain control of the situation while still having a stance of power while not being an ass about it. He deserves more credit here too. Good duo.

One thing these students are good at is rhetoric. they didn't learn nothing at school.
Robert Jack - I agree. This should never have been a meeting, informal or otherwise. A school posting, along with a reminder of the general policy of the school should have sufficed.
You can learn all types of stuff in college. Imagine having consequences as a result of your actions (regardless of the reason or cause). So perfectly handled. “This is what will happen if you take these particular actions.” Real Life 101.
Well, they know that what they are telling them will happen, is the truth, so they don't REALLY care if they stay as it will only hurt the students, not the University.

University of Chicago did it better. They sent a letter to all incoming freshmen regarding situations like this and that they would be shown the door if they couldn't stand a difference of opinion from other students.
This is what Weinstein at Evergreen and Christakis at Yale should have done. Not entertained their loony ideas; not catered to their feelings. They should have brought the hammer down like these two gentlemen here and told them if they threw a tantrum or threatened someone that they would be gone the next day.
They all had parents that taught them that rules are negotiable on a case by case basis and they are all entitled to ignore rules they don't like and set terms as they see fit.
Xyre154 😂😂😂 you think kicking out what looked to be like 20-30 students would hurt the universities income? You’re wrong, very, very wrong. They make money off sports, food, merchandise. All of that on top of the enormous tuition you have to pay to go there.
Xyre154 colleges like OSU are so big that it doesn’t even matter. Their football team alone generates $90+ million dollars a year, their whole athletic department is rumored to have a net worth of one BILLION dollars a year, again I say rumor so don’t quote me on that, but the football team 100% makes $90+ million dollars for the school. So yeah they can afford to expel that many students. Colleges still receive money from former alumni through merchandise and ticket sales and some even donate large sums of money. So for you to say that OSU was just threatening these students because they can’t afford to expel them is wrong. Yeah this may not be the case for smaller colleges, but OSU is enormous, they have over 30,000 students. So to say that losing 30 students hurt would hurt them financially is wrong. Yeah they may not want to expel that many students because, and I will agree, that is a shit ton of money to just throw away but still, they can without a doubt afford to say fuck em and throw em all out. I will agree not every college can do this because with smaller colleges with only 10,000 and less student most definitely cannot afford that, and yeah I actually was high when I wrote that and I’m still high now and I just showed you how wrong you were. I’m done with this conversation.

Because at a trade school you are expected to act like an adult and are held to that standard. This is what colleges have fostered. They are now reaping their reward.
Well the culture of people in the trades reinforces mutual respect. When you go into the trades or skilled labor, you are paying your bills, not your mommy and daddy. I m ashamed to see comments in this chat calling these protests as a privilege ... students should protest considering the price hikes of tuition, increase cost of living, cuts in education and other academic programs. My university years of Rutgers University was instrumental with actions since there was no push back from students or parents. The issue here is how should student organization protest these dire issues with US colleges and universities from doing what they want without considering the implications of student's future or their obligations as a educational institution.
Notice how the tall guy argues. He stays on point. When someone tries to divert the conversation to debate a sub-point just so they can establish a foothold in an attempt to worm their way out, he steers them back to the main point. "This is our decision, this is what will happen if you do not comply."
I really love these two guys! I’m all for protesting and making things better, but these students seem to LACK the understanding of what they’re saying. College is where people come to learn, work and study. It's not an open forum for those who want to protest. There are student leaders that you can go to and hold meetings to discuss displeasure. These are the acts of those who want to behave in a way that's not civilized. They didn't get any permission, they choose to subdue people trying to work and they are nothing more than a deterrent to those who want to learn and study. You have to read and agree to the student code of conduct. If you violate those rules then you have to suffer the consequences.
+stony tina I'd be willing to give them a second chance so long as the infraction was minor and not something obvious. I hate that whole "ignorance of the law does not make you immune to it" BS, as there are so many, I feel it is unreasonable to expect people to remember all of them. However, after I informed them they were breaking the rules, I would expect them to follow them. Again though, this assumes that the rule(s) they were breaking were minor and not common sense. Not knowing you needed a permit to protest isn't something everyone would think of, but not leaving when you are told you aren't allowed to be there, yeah, you should know how to follow instructions.
It's not ignorant to state the facts. It's ignorant to assume you know me to be a child or that I don't have information concerning such sit-ins existed. But to add to YOUR ignorance is that they have been against school policy then like they are now. Universities and college's are a place to learn not to preach. The parents are not paying for them to be there for any other reason except an education. The code of conduct is spelled out NOW, and they need to learn to abide by the rules just like they do if they ever decide to get off their asses and get a job. I'm pretty sure their employer is not going to allow them to do sit-in's if they aren't happy about having a slurpy machine over a koolee machine. Are we clear, ARE WE CLEAR!?
+James Bond after the Missou protests, they petitioned and successfully got their tests delayed because they didn't have adequate study time, due to their protesting. I say screw them. This is how George Bridges should have handled the students at Evergreen. Noticee how when heads of faculty are firm and have self-respect and don't tolerate their BS, the students are so much calmer? Compare this to George Bridge's Evergreen. They throw out claims and denials that have nothing to do with what the video is adressing. Like they paused it and wrote the comment begore leaving.
Since the channel name is "keepOsuPublic" I'm going to safely assume the protesters wanted to post this video to look good but they actually ended up looking like idiots.
The disrespectful, laughter and the cavaliarness of these young idiots is why America is completely going down the toilet. It's one thing to stand your ground and you know state your cause. It's another thing to disrespect an adult who is giving you the options that the school or GSU made available. I see this every day with disrespectful attitudes and apathy and uncaring young people. I think it's a lot deeper than that. I'm in this generation and it's difficult not to be more persuaded by this culture from a young age. The kids will defend based on what the opinions of the teachers they are around. If they stand up for themselves and the teacher gets them in trouble, they are less likely to handle themselves. If the teacher tries to help the kids resolve it after the fight, kids usually become buddies. Society raises children more than we are willing to admit. w vanyar Most, if not all colleges, have a student code of conduct.

X2 Going to college and having a job at the same time really cut your time.
@Kenneth Miller what's your degree
They all cheat their way through college. The amount of kids I've seen in groupme who just use quizlet and chegg for quizzes and online exams is incredibly disturbing
They’re all probably like dance majors and stuff. Engineering, economics, math, pre med, etc majors including myself don’t have time for shit like this
Horrible people , wouldn't hire them to flip burgers.
it'd cost you $15/hr at minimum and if you fire them you are a racist and a sexist
Don't worry. Fix a kiosk to take orders from guests. Hire some staff to take care of cooking and cleaning. Boom
You save hundreds and thousands of dollars.
@@MrBoykauvballwhat?
what is with all these kids protesting over nothing? They literally invent problems. Maybe they should be expelled. They're clearly not cut out for education.
+Joel Hall It's always been like that.
I agree - the most privileged and highly educated generation in human history with a level of freedom unimagined by previous generations seem like they need something to do. They need to realize that we are all finally free. Yes, there is still progress to be made but freedom and equality are not the issue. The Environment!!
+frank spence it seems like the secular generation are trying to find or create their own religion.
Unfortunately. I consider myself a liberal but these kids are turning so many people off - fighting against there best interests.
Look how privileged and safe they act in the video. They thought they won't have to get any consequences for doing what they did. They feel safe enough to pull this shit and surprised that there will be consequences. Power play use to be about who is the strongest. Lol
These people make me lean toward authoritarian beliefs.
When you graduate, guess what? No Safe Spaces. Enough is enough.
The unemployment line or French fryer and McDonald's are definitely not safe spaces.
**cackling** hahaha yes please
and probably no job prospects either. but LOTS of student loan debt, you can be sure
Quite the contrary. They turn into wretched adults who complain about everyone trying to end careers.
K Mac WOW!! DID YOU SAY THAT OUT LOUD
This is how George Bridges should have handled the students at Evergreen. Noticee how when heads of faculty are firm and have self-respect and don't tolerate their BS, the students are so much calmer? Compare this to George Bridge's Evergreen. And this man did not ban police from the campus. The fat black girl almost said "but students who live here are not safe". But she stopped half way.
He would if he wasn’t a Beta male...
The most entitled thing I’ve ever heard is “Some of us are people of color soooo....”
yah fat bitch
@Senior Partner lol true ,
Entitled and RACIST. Anytime you mention the color of your skin for your own benefit or gain is racist!
I liked how no one cheered her on after that comment, it just got awkward, cringy & quiet
How is it entitled to protest for your rights as a person of color which is what they were doing, so I'm assuming they are protesting police brutality or something like that which mind you effects people of color worse than white people, it's not entitlement it's literally a fact
Why don't people like protesters? Do you even know what they're protesting for? Peaceful protest is the backbone of democracy
peacefull protests has lost all meaning becuase the fact is its not peacefull, most people at "peacefull protests" attack those who arent even involved in the situation like civilians or shops ect
I bet the kids posting this video weren’t expecting these comments lmao
Manuel Rodriguez they don’t read nonsense
In the name of scientific progress who doesn’t support students?
No, I pretty much expected this would happen. Notice not one of the comments asked what is going on. Yet there all jumping to the conclusion that these are college brats. It's typical of comments like these. They feel that status quo is God. I see it all the time, with videos on global warming. They throw out claims and denials that have nothing to do with what the video is adressing. Like they paused it and wrote the comment begore leaving.
@@sorzin2289 No matter what's going on, if your reaction to "you are scaring people" is to burst out laughing, you are a brat.

A real man vs a pile of spineless conniption fits.
No consequence exists for them. They laugh in the face of any rules. They think anarchy is cool and trending. God help us!
It’s easier to protest and occupy a building than do homework and pass exams.
L M it’s called affirmative action and brainwashing
they can barely write...let alone pass exams....look at every schools records these specific kids are stupid as fuck
Would you like being told what to do every minute of your life? College is more feasible, but they Indoctrinate almost every day. It’s easier to go against what your Professors say about genders
Sorry. I didn’t mean it like that. What was meant, was that Some forms of schooling is unpreparedness brainwashing for the labor force, I NEVER meant to say that college isn’t a choice and you HAVE to go. Some people want different education, and some people want good degrees and good jobs and earn good money with a good family. Some other people want to Educate themselves, because the local elite just forces it down their throats what they don’t have interest in
But in seriousness, these students need their asses beat into submission legally and physically
These kids never had any parenting. This is like the first time in their life an adult gave them a rule with consequences.
Haidt argues the opposite. Freedom after controlled parenting.
Exactly Right!
I wonder if the blame rests solidly on the parenting at home, or that theyd theyd flushed their child into the toilet every weekday morning K-12. ?
jjh lk this is a product of being raised by the state
Yeah! Breaking rules with no consequences is only for politicians, the President, the rich and powerful. The poors, however, dare not protest lest they get arrested, or lack "parenting" and require reeducation.
I like how the people who are acting irrationally and irresponsibly are surprised that they are perceived as a threat.
I call it "acting ghetto".
these same snowflake pricks would run to a safe space if they saw someone wearing a "Maga" hat saying that they were being threatened.
That's because they want what they want and they don't care how they get it.
Comedian Ron White said it best: "You can't fix stupid."
Guess what students -- This is not a negotiation.
Jake Preston Yeah, ain't it great!
These kids are a joke and a disgrace. If there gonna be this disrespectful they should’ve just been expelled right then and there
What did they do?
First amendment dumbass
@@loganpowell1174 Private property dumbass. People couldn't fucking hold a protest in my backyard could they? The university is a private property so shut up about your first amendment freedom of assembly bullcrap. Before you go spouting off about the first amendment, learn your stuff. Can I protest on private property? No. With limited exceptions, First Amendment rights apply only to the government and government property. Private property owners can control what happens on their property and may prevent people from protesting on their land.
The sad part is that most of them probably aren’t even kids. Young adults that should be taking responsibility for their actions and instead they act like they’re at summer camp.
Finally a university administrator that knows how to keep his pimp hand strong.
The amount of entitlement these students have is incredible. Credit to the president for keeping his cool. I would've skipped out
who the hell has time to sit around protesting? I was working full time and taking full time course work when I did my undergrad. I was either in the library, in class, or at work. Protest these kids lazy asses. "I'm here, I feel your wasting an opportunity for education I never had, get used to it". I didn't double major because I was afraid I couldn't pay for it and my job was getting tired of switching my shifts around every semester, so I could get the two days off I needed to complete classes.

I feel you man, I worked through high school, had 2 part time jobs in college on top of repairing other people's electronics and computers, installing mod chips in consoles among other things... I did all this for 6 years while in college just to pay my own way, because I wasn't "special" (read: I was too white) enough to get scholarships or have my education paid for by the government or my family members... Yet I worked my ass off for those 9 years (3 years of high school and 6 years of college), forgoing social interactions for a better future for myself... Now, I'm successful, I work for myself even though I don't have to at this point, and not once did I get anything handed to me or did I get any opportunities because of my skin color or gender, I worked damn hard for my accomplishments and for everything I have today...
Today's students are so spoiled, they've been given everything on a silver platter, barely any of them (if any at all) have had to work while in high school or now in college, and they can't even keep up with their easy as fuck class workload... They spend more time whining, bitching and protesting over complete nonsense than they do studying, and now they expect to be given a passing grade because they chose to waste their time protesting? Fuck that, you have to EARN it, this isn't high school which doesn't matter, this is college, if you want to graduate, you need to EARN it...
Fucking lazy, self entitled fucktards expecting a free ride and handouts for the rest of their lives just because they're not white... Maybe they should take cues from white and especially Asian people and actually work for it... These people sicken me, complete fucking losers, all of them...

"If you are all still here in fifteen minutes, you're going to jail and getting expelled. If you don't understand that, then you need to go back to high school."
Nuff said.
Understanding and accepting are two different things. Educational institutions are not corporate offices, there would be protests, there would be free spirited arguments, not corporate sheep scared of getting fired
Not being learned in schools so it’s remaining into adulthood years
This is what happens when you never say "no" to your kid
I think it's a lot deeper than that. I'm in this generation and it's difficult not to be more persuaded by this culture from a young age. It's in social media, celebrities, news, school, advertising, friends. It's ridiculously difficult to see any bigger picture than expecting everyone to perfectly fit in your idea of the world. It's a generational issue more than a domestic issue.
@@mitchderise I see what your saying, but I respectfully disagree. The PARENTS today are no where near involved in their kids life like they should. I literally see so many kids pretty much run their parents not the other way around. That's the job of the parent to make sure they are being taught by them and NOT the internet. So it absolutely is a domestic issue.
@@tellurye Home and society are not the same thing. Parents teach kids how to act around parents but teachers teach kids how to act at school. Life isn't externally tough as it used to be. So people just don't grow up as fast. Culture has a lot more to do with it. I encourage my kids to act immediatly to physically defend themselves. To never provoke but stand up for themselves. Moms with too many kids to handle is usually begging for a stranger to give kids a death glare. The kid dancing holding his crotch won't listen to anyone except the scary man that says cut that shit out. Society must tastefully intervene. Just like these men here are.
@@johnnyflorence219 I respectfully disagree. My parents taught me what society was going to TRY and teach me. Absolutely teachers should be teaching the right thing, but my parents protected me from them as well.

Sure it is our job to help out wherever we can, but ultimately the responsibility falls 100% on the parents.
