When Jim Harbaugh took over at Michigan, he gave two options to those who skipped class: 2am study session with coach, or 4am conditioning. Good to see coaches still making school a priority for student athletes.

I love that the professor threw in the "when he is here he is kind and respectful" before saying all the negative stuff as well. Some people just dont wont to learn, which is fine we are all humans with flaws. But still being respectful in that moment goes along way in how you will be treated back.

It's not _'fine'_ These are supposed to be institutions of higher learning and they are not mandatory to attend. These professional athletes should not be enrolled in these schools and instead belong in a minor league system directly operating under the auspices of the NFL or similar body.

In college I worked at the football practice facility of a major power 5 school. Mind you going in I was a lifelong fan of this team, so I thought they could do no wrong. Oh boy how my opinion changed. After 2 years working in this facility I learned one thing, 80-90% of the athletes who walked through those doors felt like the entire campus should worship the ground they walked on. Therefore they acted as such, not paying attention in class, trashing their locker room, and showing no respect to me or my coworkers.. amongst other things. And that lack of accountability and discipline showed up on the field, as they failed to meet expectations year after year. So when I tell you I LOVE seeing this I mean it. Because too many of these college athletes are allowed to skate by without any consequence, and therefore learn nothing while in college. So props to coach Prime, he’s setting ALL of his players up for success.. whether they become professional football players, teachers, or doctors. Keep it up!

I hated when teachers would casually be like “so you’ll have to meet outside of class with your group members.” Are you driving me, miss? I take the bus for a reason. My parents work during the day. So and so lives with his elderly gramma: she’s not driving anyone anywhere. Then you meet at your group partner’s house and you have to listen to his parents’ marital disputes. Mixed feelings on this one. Coach Prime is great but I'm also concerned about the 'entitlement' these young men seem to have. tough love.

College football should be replaced by the equivalent of a Baseball “Minor League”. These are fine athletes but they aren’t students. As the Big 10 has grown to 20 teams with a large TV contract and the SEC has likewise grown, it’s time to set aside the fiction that these players aren’t professional athletes.

    • @splitliving

To what end? If it is so that 90+ % of college athletes don’t go pro, then why have the concept at all? Just drop education? Waste three, four, five years playing a game? I’d say that is a pretty bad ROI

Prime is about truth. Nothing to hide. Transparency. The players came, in part, for exposure. You have to CREATE the positive exposure by excellence in all things. That's the way life is. Unapologetic.

ESPN, reposted this video from Well Off Media channel on UA-cam which is ran by Deion Sanders Jr.
I hope for that any parent who has an athlete at CU who did not see this video from Well Off Media has now seen it on ESPN and reached out to the child to find out if the letter from the professor was talking about him. I hope all parents reach out to the kid and encourage them not to throw away their opportunity to get their education even if they don't become a professional athlete. That is what Coach Prime always talks to his players about. He wants them to become great productive young men.

I’ll text the real reason ESPN posted this video. CU has had an influx of African American players on their roster since Deion tenure as HC.
CU allegedly lowered their gpa to allow more student athletes to attend… some like it , some don’t.
America is a biased country that, for instance if a white and black person performs the exact crime best believe the black person will be handed a harsher sentence.
ESPN is shining light strictly due to the fact their are predominantly black Americans who are on that football team.
