      If you have the chance (and u care), I'd recommend going into a shop and checking out the picture quality of the monitors. You will be spending some time in front of it and it might be worth getting one that looks good in your eyes while its specs are slightly lower or different from what u expected or compared to others. I think quality is the most important factor.

    My god… I just test the AOC calibrated settings along with your ICC profile, and it's amazing! Recently I tested several ICCs from others respectable reviewing sites, and your ICC is just on point with my unit! The SDR and HDR modes in the white point and gamma along with the sRGB representation looks almost identical! Thank you for giving us the ICCs profiles for free! Instant like and subscribe!

      How do you even know the white point and gamma is on point without a colorimeter? Sounds like you went by eye on lagom. Otherwise you would have just made your own with a colorimeter. Dont use other peoples ICC files. Each monitor is unique.

      I actually opened the comment section to ask if this monitor could be tested. I recently bought the G Pro 27i for 360 USD and I am more than happy with my purchase. I use the single monitor mainly for gaming but for content consumption as well. I can confidently say that in its category of 27 inch mini led displays, I don’t think there is a better display in terms of picture quality. It’s amazing! It can get really bright while maintaining the really deep blacks thanks to the huge number of dimming zones. Of course you can expect some blooming, especially when you have the local dimming set to max. It’s a lot better when you switch it to medium or low settings. The earlier monitor I had was an ASUS 1440p VA panel with HDR10, and now that I have this monitor, I can say that everyone saying no other HDR rating is comparable to HDR1000 is 100% right! It’s especially good for playing games like God of War with HDR enabled. Out of the box at least to my eyes the colours are pretty accurate as well. Apart from that since it’s an IPS mini led panel, it’s great for competitive gaming as well, and it does really great on the UFO test as well, thanks to the 180Hz refresh rate. And aside from all of that it’s a good looking monitor on the desk as well, with a clean looking adjustable stand and an RGB LED halo on the back to give a bit of an ambience. I bought this monitor after doing research to buy a new one for 3 months, and I honestly don’t think I could’ve made a better decision, and for the price I couldn’t recommend another monitor. But of course you have to consider there’s a few drawbacks such as there being no in built speakers, and no USB ports, although that has never been an issue for me. If you do plan to buy one though I would recommend that you make sure you’re able to get warranty on it and make sure you can return it for another unit in case of any issues. I’ve read on some Reddit posts that some units have onboard software issues causing colour problems and some settings to not work as intended. And these are things that probably can’t be fixed with an update or anything since it doesn’t have any USB ports. I hope this helps! I would really love to see this channel doing a review on the G Pro 27i

      As I mainly use my PC for work and also gaming, how is text clarity? or how bad is mouse haloing with local dimming on, as toggling that every time I game would be a hassle.
      Also how is VRR flicker on this? the AOC one has terrible flicker and most recommend not to use VRR unless you are always hitting high FPS.

      @@qkeptzI have 2 aoc 144hz 1440p 27'' va monitors that ive since replaced, they have immense black smearing, and other slow pixel response times, so much that it felt like motion blur when moving the camera in games compared to the samsung g9 (also va panel) that i replaced those 2 with, i still use them though, just not for gaming as the black smearing was really bothering me
      Thats not to say you should get a g9.. im just making an example here
      Its worth noting those 2 aoc monitors are from 3-5 years ago, so even if the same model is still being sold, they might have upgraded the va panels inside them by now
      So i think your mileage is gonna vary a bunch going from monitor to monitor, as the other guy said his aoc va is really good, i assume that means it has no obvious smearing or anything

      @@qkeptz Hey, I can share some of my experience of using this model of AOC. If I understand smearing effect wright, it is one of the reasons I sold this monitor after few weeks of using it. Higher fps - less noticable smearing. I played God of War 2018 on rtx 3080, and if fps is lower than 90, smearing is pretty noticable and interrupting. Horror game - "Still wakes the deep" has the same effect. I never turned off "Motion blur" in videogames settings on IPS monitor, until I got this AOC. It helps a bit, but not so much. When playing "The Finals" with 100+ fps - everything is okay, and no noticable smearing. So GPU is a big thing with this monitor on my opinion.
      Also I can tell that very few reviews mentions that this monitor have very audible coil whine(yes, just like gpus). The sound of it can get softer if set monitor on 120hz or lower, but it wont go away completely.
      Last reason for me to sell was that I noticed eyes strain with using this monitor, even on srgb color space. Using HDR had made eyes strain thing even worse.

And I subscribed to this channel within a week, which I had forgot lol. I might buy the Acer as it's available on Amazon in my country for 210€ which is 20€ cheaper than the Asus. I've bought a few items reviews raved over that weren't worth keeping. You guys make money on these vids somehow like you can sell the stuff they send you to review without paying any money. The concern was you didn't try to adjust each monitor, and even TVs need calibrating when new..

    I have the AOC. In case you didn't know, the AOC panel is a Quantum dot HVA (high VA / fast VA) manufactured by TCL, which has acquired Samsung's VA panel division and technology (those used in the Neo G8 for example) once Samsung decided to replace the new models of the Odyssey line with OLED panels.
    So the black smearing, is it noticeable? Yes, but very little and only for office tasks. In games it is not noticeable, and I am a casual, non-competitive gamer, the clarity of movement and input lag are more than perfect for my necessities.

      There is a good reason for That.... The métod used by Monitor Unboxed is too strict, too much actually. They start the medition at 3% of the transition and ended also at 3%... So they cover more of the transition... But there is a problem... This monitor has a backlight That has bright variations, so the sensor captures That info, and That info cause noise errors, so if a good denoising is not doing well enought you get wrong data. On Rtings you can see all the data, and the way That they denoise the data, they said this monitor is 4.5ms avg and the slowest transition at 13ms... Since the MU does not provide all the data, I believe in Rtings (actually they uses 3RGB so more strict That Techless)

    I just ordered that Acer monitor. I play CS2, Valorant, watch anime and work in 3D Environment. So the response time and color accuracy is great for me and anime is 16:9 anyway so no annoying black border. Cost me only $160 (13500 INR)
    (Edit) Arrived today. Display is insane for its price after calibrating. The first thing I noticed is panel black border. They are THICCC.

    I'm pretty sure I'm going to get the AOC q27f3xmn, but in Spain is like 360€ on sale, when it's not in sale it's like 450€.
    However, this video made me question if I should get an IPS as I mainly game but I don't play fps, I just do AAA games. Should I get the gigabyte g2724d in that case or stick with the AOC? Any thoughts antibody?

    • @Pupixario
      @Pupixario 28 днів тому

      The g2724d doesn't have FreeSync Premium Pro according to AMD Website. This could very well mean that it is not capable of providing Freesync and LFC under HDR.
      If you are going to use HDR in gaming this might be something you want to check and consider.

      @Pupixario now I'm going to get the Xiaomi g pro i27, it is dull array local dimming with more zones than the AOC, it is IPS!!, it has very good colors (close to 100% dcip3) and it has a similar price than the AOC. You can also, at least in Spain, get a student discount if you get it from the official Xiaomi webside

  • @Karras353
    @Karras353 Місяць тому

    Yes, I think that is exactly why many people will buy a monitor or other product. Because in an over saturated market full of buzzwords and bs claims, with it not even always being clear which professional looking reviews can be trusted, many people will be taken in by the marketing and the on site reviews. Not everyone has time to Sith through potentially hours of videos showing real world use cases and benchmarks, before coming to a conclusion. I'm leaning towards blowing a sizeable amount of my time on just that but I certainly resent the perceived need for it and that I can't just reliably find a trustworthy description on Amazon.

    • @Karras353
      @Karras353 Місяць тому

      What is also frustrating is that local stores who sell monitors have few of them on display and sometimes none of them even turned on. They can set up countless TVs with looping demo reels but you are out of luck if you want to see a PC monitor working before you buy.
