Quick question. Looking for a monitor to work. Really two as I run a dual monitor setup. Been looking at the Asus XG27ACS, AOC Q27G3XMN and the Acer XV271UM3. No gaming will be done on these. Don't do video editing so HDR is not really needed. Which would you choose.
Here in Brazil it's still around pretty expensive, like the cheaper ones are like $400 dollars. And the cheaper ones in other countries, like these ones are like $600 dollars 😢
I got one that was on sale and had a coupon on it from amazon for 165 cad including import fees and taxes. which in my province is 15%. So to say this is an insane deal is an understatement. Only downside is its only 100hz but that's good enough for what I want it for.
I might be stating the obvious, but that’s because newer technology and models come out at the same price making it make no sense to pay full price for a couple years old model, so naturally they lower the prices otherwise people would just pick the newer model for the same money.
AOC released an IPS version of Q27G3XMN, called the Q27G4XM in the chineese market but it's not stated when or if it will be globally available. It's got more dimming zones at 1,152, better colors and wider gamut, viewing angles and faster response times. I hope it comes to the west in the coming months.
I have the mobiuz ex240 i got it for $83 including tax on ebay and i love it so much. Watched your review and knew that at the price it was an absolute steal. I use it on my series X
Every time I watch these videos, I feel vindicated buying the AOC hdr monitor. I don't notice a difference in response times in competitive fps at all. Truly a gigachad monitor.
@courageoyibo6716 I have a bad eye for colo accuracy, though, according to the rtings review, if you want accurate colors, the srgb mode is pretty much as good as it gets. Hdr is fantastic. I primarily use it for everyday use (watching videos, text editing and gaming), not for content creation. Black smear is noticeable in very high contrast situations, such as very bright text on a pure black background. Other than that, I just don't notice it. Speaking of contrast, the monitor can reach 10000:1 contrast with strong local dimming.
I got a used LG 27GR83Q for $350 CAD and only had less than 300 hours use. I recommend using Rting's downloadable monitor profile and recommended settings.
3:20 If you're going to play then whether or not it's recommended depends on the capabilities of your PC, not on popularity, and considering how well optimized the games are being released, well...
@IceDweller68 you better follow this guy's advice, but i got mine for 200€ and it's pretty good, asus quality. speakers, 180° rotation but only 144hz, very good colors
If you don't mind spanish, a youtuber called imartz reviewed it and even compared it to the aoc, he does some great content and goes very deep into details such as local dimming brightness accuracy and the disadvantages of the backlight being pwm
Tom's Hardware, PCWorld and IGN all gave it very positive reviews; it has flaws but the overall panel quality, build quality and performance are stated to be above that of monitors even $200 more expensive. They all mention that out-of-the-box calibration is mediocre, tho.
Thanks. 👍🏻 Unfortunately there are some reports that Dell uses various panels from different manufacturersfor the G2724D which one is slightly worse than the one that was used in the first place. Some say the same about the XG27ACS but not sure.
Hey techless, very nice list as always. Apparently the KTC H24F8 is the "new" version of the H24T09P with a 180hz IPS panel and now they promote it as 1ms GTG. It is the same price and "better" specs on paper. Will you ever get to test it? Have a good one.
@Theo-si3ik I got the T09P because it is known and tested by many. I will receive it this week. It will be my second monitor because I have a 360hz BenQ for the main one.
I heard about the H24F8 today for the first time and was also wondering what it is. Can anyone test it? Haven't found any reviews of it either... Seriously considering buying one
What is your opinion on going 24 inch instead of 27 inch for a budget 1440p mid refresh rate monitors? Have been contemplating buying AOC Q24G2A as my first monitor.
I'm considering this as well actually! I have been using a 24-inch 1080p 144Hz monitor until now with 92 PPI; going to the Q24G2A would bump the resolution to 1440p obviously + increase the PPI to 122, which should result in a very sharp, clear image! Got this idea 2 days ago by seeing a video "Only TWO monitors like this exist" that's also on this channel!
@@ImDazzling get 27 inch, u will not "regret" it in a few years, but u will think of upgrading either way. so just get directly the 27 inch. even if its a bit more expensive. it will be worth it
you should cover the "new" 24E3, the G2411P from Koorui, from what I could tell its apparently better on the brightness and color accuracy department than the 24E3, maybe its using the same panel as the H24T09P?
Some of the latest gen 27" OLEDs have been going for less than 600 euro already but I totally get excluding them since it's impossible to pick a single model, the prices are all over the place. I wouldn't be surprised if we see 27" 3rd gen QD-OLED or ASUS XG27AQDMG for 500-550e during Black Friday. At that point I'd definitely get it over a 350-400e high refresh rate LCD, it's on a completely different level.
@@Davinmk Yeah but the video is about best "value", not specifically about budget monitors. The point I wanted to make is that entry level OLEDs for 600$ might be "better value" than many of the 350-500$ LCDs. Of course you'll find the absolute best value in the 100-250$ range aka "budget" monitors.
I just came from best monitors. Money can buy video and it’s crazy how you mentioned the LG. From what other people have reviewed on this monitor it definitely seems like that is the closest to OLED. You can buy without actually being OLED.
I still have my msi 251RX that I bought right on COVID time and still performs for what I need. I don't think I can't use anything below 240hz since then.
I got a $170 1440 165hz 27" IPS monitor from an unknown brand called Thunder that has freesync/gsync and hdr. I haven't really noticed any ghosting but I'm not a competitive gamer either. Can't really vouch for the hdr either. It might be good, it might be bad, and it might be my ignorance but all I know is that I don't see anything wrong with it for my gaming uses. So for me, it was a steal, considering the cheapest big-brand option was almost $300 in my area.
Last year's $200 monitors I bought. The same monitors. Are now down in the $150 range. I was hoping something better would come along to replace them at $200.
Great video! Have you seen the HP "OMEN 27q" (suprisingly simple name for a monitor these days haha)... I've been hearing good things about it, and it's only £179 here in the UK.
KTC have newer updated models for same price. H25T7. I assume those are better. 180hz too. Koorui updated theirs too with 24E4 from 24E3. KTC also got H27E22F 1080p 240hz model at 150 range

It depends on your components/specs, however Valorant is not exactly a demanding game. 1080p you're generally getting better response times and flexibility hitting a higher refresh rate/FPS, and you will have better options/availibilty. I would go for a decent 24" (23.8) 1080p monitor, but you absolutely don't need a 400Hz display. It's completely overkill. Also KTC I'm not sure I've heard of and I don't know what their track record is. To get the most for your money, I'd be looking at something in the 144-240hz range. You can get very decent monitors capable of 165hz-180hz and 240hz these days.
Hey, could you maybe test the Xiaomi G Pro 27i? It is in the same price class as the AOC but has a mini LED IPS panel with 1152 local dimming zones. Maybe this can deliver the best of both worlds for gaming and movie watching?

ty for ur video. I m looking to buy a 1440p monitor and I like Dell G2724D, but I saw the Dell G2725D have better price now. What is the difference between this 2? Its worth it to buy the Dell G2725D for 160 euro?
For all this listed or of these price range, which would be the best one for CS2 game playing? Please, any advice
i just bought the gigabyte m27q x for 300 gbp hoping its good gonna use your icc profile
I've been looking for a 32 inch, IPS, 1440p monitor with good refresh rate but I cant trust myself to buy any, would you have any recommendations?
hi @techless can you also do a review for the Lenovo Legion R27Q-30?
Do you recommend Samsung Odyssey G6 G65B, 27 ? I don't see it no where in videos. Although it's stats almost similar.
Where I live, Dell G2724D isn't there however there's a Dell G2725D ($223 - not on sale), any difference between the two?
AOC Q27G3XMN is not available in my area. Is there any other name for the other region?
Where I live the MSI G274QPX is 330e and Gigabyte M27QX is 345e, while the LG 27GR83Q has "-B.AEU" and can be found for 280e.
Is this some inferior version or a lucky opportunity..?
Would you recommend ktc h27t22 innolux or the dell g2724d? The dell is around 35$ more expensice
The problem is just that i can find a oled at 550€ nowadays. Makes me not want to buy a some monitor for 300ish€s when i can save up some more to get 240hz oled
PLEASE REVIEW THE MADLIONS 60HE
The Dell is currently $150 and the AOC is $250. Is the $100 worth it? It would be $200 since id be getting 2 of them. I’d be using it for more productivity, not much of a gamer anymore but id still do some competitive pc and ps5 gaming. Is HDR worth it? I guess the only game I think id be utilizing it for is like gta 6 next year
Hi techless, would the LENOVO Legion R27qe be also a good purchase compared to the 1440p 180Hz monitors you listed? It is 20% cheaper in Poland as of today 😅😅
Hey i was Looking to get a new monitor with these specs: 24 inch, 165hz minimum, IPS, flatscreen. The options that I found for my budget are the Asus VG259Q3A, KOORUI 24e3, and the gigabyte 24gf 2. I would use it for gaming and browsing. Which of these do you recommend?
PS: I’m open to recommendations

Hey I Hope You Can Help me decide . I have found the AOC Q27G4N instead of the one you showed in the video and its also available with A IPS panel called Q27G4 , I am confused on whether to opt for the VA panel which is cheaper or The IPS one
Thank You !
Can you do a monitor comparison between a budget 1440p high refresh rate monitor (like the Acer VG272U W2, 1440p 240Hz monitors) Vs a mid range 165 or 180Hz 1440p monitor like (Asus xg27acs). It's crazy to think that the Acer is cheaper than the Asus with an even higher refresh rate
