Carlos Alberto Reutemann Molina era un verdadero atleta. Después de trece años sin subirse a un auto de carreras, manejó un Ferrari 412 como parte de los actos protocolares del Gran Premio de Argentina 1995 ¡igual a cuando debutó allí en 1972 a sus casi 30 años de edad! ¡Honor a quién honor merece!

I know that Britain and Argentina have their differences, and I'm not looking to insight any nationalistic passions with my comment, but I think both can agree that Lole was a great talent in his own right and his only misfortune was being overlooked by teams and fellow competitors. If things panned out differently, he could have had a title in 1981. Such a shame he faded in the finale in Las Vegas, losing the title by 1 point after having led the championship for most of the year. May he rest in peace, a great driver in his own right and the second most successful driver in the sport from Argentina after Fangio, which is no mean feat

Very sad indeed. Even at 79 it just feels too soon. All legends who were born in the 40’s are slowly leaving this earth. That’s life but it’s still sad. Farewell Carlos Reutemann you will be missed greatly.
We say farewell to Hannu Mikkola too! Finnish rally legend, also born in 1942, who passed away this year!

Williams no tuvo la culpa de la muerte de Senna, esas cosas simplemente a veces ocurren y no es algo que podamos controlar. Si se debe culpar a alguien, es a la FIA por continuar con el GP después de la muerte de Ratzenberger y el accidente de Barrichello que también casi le cuesta la vida.

Ironically, he probably would have easily been world champion in 1982, if he had stuck around. (Teammate K. Rosberg ended up champion.)

Un elogio y una crítica: gran decisión de F1 de elegir un narrador en español y muy buen trabajo de Victor, un gran currante.
Pero la parte de Las Vegas está lejos de la realidad. Reutemann tuvo problemas mecánicos. F1 no va a entrar lógicamente en teorías conspiranoicas de por qué, pero la realidad es que los problemas los tuvo. Su estado de ánimo cambiante, que era real, en esta tuvo poco que ver aunque quede bien en el guión del video.
Williams le cambió el auto para la carrera
@@inakit3521 Hizo la pole el viernes pero se tocó con Piquet el sábado y rompió la suspensión. El auto lo cambiaron pero nunca funcionó bien. A partir de ahí, se activó toda la conspiranoia por los problemas que había tenido con el equipo desde lo de Jacarepaguá.
Víctor, no seas ingenuo. @williamsracing saboteó el auto de Reutemann por no haber obedecido la orden de equipo con Alan Jones. El karma paga, Sir Frank Williams.
Totalmente de acuerdo! No quede del todo satisfecho con el video.
Y además tuvo problemas en la caja de cambios durante todo el año. O al menos es lo que dijo Reutemann. Y eso de su "inestable talento" es una ridiculez. Personalmente me parece un video corto, frío. Como si lo hubieran hecho con cero ganas. Tampoco fue gran cosa el que hicieron sobre Stirling Moss el año pasado.

Não acompanhei a Fórmula 1 na era dele mas parecia ser um grande piloto.
Quando o cara só não é campeão por ter competido com Niki Lauda e Nelson Piquet, é um bom indicativo do tamanho dele.
El Lole foi um dos grandes pilotos de sua geração. Perdeu o campeonato de 81 por um ponto pra Piquet; foi injustamente preterido por Jones na Willians. Jamais desistiu! Descanse em paz.

As an avid F1 fan born in the mid-80's, I have seemed to have missed the romance of F1 in the 70's. I know the names, but not the stories. I wish to know more, and will endeavour to do so, to learn of the legacies of those that have gone before the great drivers of my lifetime. I will know your story Carlos, along with many others. Rest in peace.
