One of the front runners when I started watching F1, who seemed a bit aloof at the time. But after his peak and during his time at Red Bull, and after over a decade as a pundit and commentator, it is clear that was just the effect of the pressure of being the "Great British Hope" that many have suffered. DC is a classy man and competitor, more than I gave him credit for in my youth, and there were some great memories here, and I hope, as Rosanna alluded to at the beginning, younger fans are pleasantly surprised by his skill and determination. Great Scot!

He was too much of a gentleman and sacrificed any chance he had at McLaren in 98/99 by supporting Mika. Also his decision to move to McLaren for '96 cost him a certain shot at the title for '96 and '97 with Williams (had he stayed).
He definitely had the speed but I also can't think of many other drivers who had worse luck as far as mechanical failures / reliability etc go than DC... - 7 DNF's in 1999 for example, 6 of which were mechanical!
