  • The plaintiff bought a new car and found out he had a lot of unpaid parking tickets. The defendant towed his car, and the plaintiff claims the defendant damaged his car in the process. He’s suing for the damages. The defendant argues he didn’t do anything to the car.

    That man was lucky he just had an inspection before the tow. Funny how the Tow company "lost" just that video! I wonder why?

    How did DMV let him transfer plates that had 8 tickets on them? That should have been taken care of on the spot.

      Unfortunately, ppl aren't competent at all times. Somebody probably didn't do their due diligence and didn't bother to check. Happens all the time in governmental places. DES does it all the time lol

    " I didn't get a chance to show my video [of some other random tow]". What's the point of watching the video of another tow? What, they do a tow right one time and means they never screw up?!

    This case was back when litigants had more respect for the court given how they dressed. Shows how the world is completely different today where they come on television dressed any old kind of way.

    He does realize that this Maxima will be chewed up by that city pretty quickly? No need for a new car in NYC. Get a 10 year old reliable car, with scratches already, so you don’t get upset.

      Omg!! There's another case where a lady wins as well. They towed her car and she was able to get her money back. I can't remember the name of it but it dealt with a restaurant and the mall. JC penny was the store I believe she ran into.

    The defendant is a liar and dishonest. I am surprised the judge did not call him out on that. The plaintive shouldn't have had those tickets but he's not the first or will he be the last to have accumulated a lot of tickets. The defendant should be ashamed of himself.Because he knows his employee ruined that car bumper.

    I love at the end when he asks the defendant, 'do you think if your video had helped you, it would have magically appeared' and the idiot answers 'yes' ha ha ha ha ha. Luckily the plaintiff had just had an inspection!...

    I'm listening while working and had to see what these guys looked like. My brain expected the defendant to look like a big, old, overweight white guy that has spent his life smoking and eating cheeseburgers. I was definitely wrong! Lol!

    I wonder if this guy is still doing this today? With today's technology he could just drive around and have a scanner scan for plates and signal him we he finds a winner.

    I thought it was illegal for towing companies to go out hunting citizens vehicles.

      Depends on the city. Some have dedicated tow trucks that are owned by the city, others utilize other tow truck companies through contracts

      Its illegal to look for cars that are park in red and stuff like that. But this is different instead of paying cops to drive around looking at plates they allow the towing company to do it.

      Absolutely not. It’s a cash cow for the city. While it seems shady, handle your business. If you disagree with a ticket, go to court. Don’t just not pay.

    New York city is a BITCH to park. Our car got towed because it said, " No Standing." Omg.... What a nightmare.

    I can't...get no, Satisfaction 🎶🎶😂😂 I'm 59 and never had a ticket in my life. It's extremely easy to do. Obey the laws.😂😂😂😂😂

    I think if you are a parking ticket junkie, you should have to pay for any damages, regardless for it getting towed away, once again. The odds were way out of your favor, so it was foreseeable & you shouldn't get reimbursed for gambling and losing.
