Just watching you use a wrench to extend the length of a wrench was a great tip! Thank you for the excellent presentation and explanations. My 2007 Element still runs like a top :)
I just picked up an 08 in NC. Pretty stoked. Had one couple years ago and always regretted selling it. Going to go thru it with your video. Much appreciated and subscribed 👍
Make sure you adjust your valves. Those exhaust valves get tight on these and are a silent killer. If you don't adjust it by 250k, it will burn an exhaust valve. Changing your oil every 5000 miles is the best thing you can do to prevent seals from leaking. Fresh and clean oil keeps those seals pliable.
I just happen to see ur channel, just subscribed. 😊 I'm just wondering if u repair & fix other elements for other element owners? I would pay u to replace all the things u did in this video on my 05 Element. 🙏🏽
@@alekslpez I'm heading your way eventually, if u r willing, I could use ur help? How much would u charge ? I also have a catalytic converter that needs to be put on. I don't have a jack to do the work. It's only 4 bolts & 2 flanges to install it.
For Alek and other Element SC owners. I am looking for loaded front shocks for my 2009 SC. I replaced them with an after-market brand sometime around 200k. I am at 315k and it's now due for another set. Any ideas or suggestions on finding a good set? Thanks to all of those who provide input.
Honestly I haven't found any that are ready to go, I was going to buy some factory Shock Absorber like these www.hondapartswholesale.com/oem-parts/honda-shock-absorber-unit-r-front-51605scva92
Enjoy your channel, I have ‘07 lx with 171 k, have not had my valves adjusted, just keep going ,? or have the valves adjusted….and where would you recommend having them done at dealer?, thank you, best wishes, Jake
Honestly I've never done or had one done, some people say you don't need it and some people say you do. If I can find someone that knows how to do it locally I probably would do it! I don't have a lot of confidence in the dealership if one of the guys at the dealer was doing side jobs I would let them do it.
Great video. I’ve never attempted or known about the harmonic balancer seal. How did you remove it once the pulley was off? Just pry it out? And yes, that nut on the backside of the tensioner pulley sucks! We lost one and never saw it again. Luckily, AutoZone had a perfect match, sold in a pack of 6. Keep the great E videos coming.
I used some of these! www.harborfreight.com/mini-pick-and-hook-set-63697.html?campaignid=12169518939&adsetid=114845748137&product=63697&store=&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAiAopuvBhBCEiwAm8jaMWUYYlOWxI3YJWmLiP4SpFVR089Tfr7_4repU3hOtYJGwJelAwKPSBoC-RUQAvD_BwE
Ok I just read all the comments and see the parts number, but just little kind of recommendation like other people the will list all the parts they used and parts and where you can buy on there description. But still thanks for your time to show up what to maintain our Element

@@FrederickDunn that's one of those tips my Dad taught me.
Why was there a pause when u put the main seal in? That was the part I wanted to see.
Plz come to Ohio, We need a knowledgeable Element Mechanic like yourself. OEM Honda parts is the ONLY way to fix these great machines!!
You are doing noble work.

Hi have you ever adjusted the valves? Is this a common issue ?
I haven't done one yet, never had an issue with any of my elements. But I know it's definitely recommended to do it!

Can you show me the parts number All you changed if not we don't know what to change. Thank you

I forgot to put them up, got them all up
Where are you located? Do you work on elements for on the side?
I'm in Katy TX. I usually work on my own Elements depending on what they need. Sometimes I buy them, fix them and sell them.
You don’t need to remove the pulley to pull the tensioner…. 🤦.
