Hey Ben vtuned Garage very good spray paint job on ford 👍👍👍👍👍I love like watching on UA-cam channel make videos on building and spray paint on cars and I love like support and number one ☝️
Don't beat yourself up too much. You're already ahead of a lot of people making a living painting. I've been spraying for 25 years and it's good to be on your toes practicing, honing the craft, learning, etc. It is a constant struggle for perfection. There are a lot of factors in getting orange peel but mostly you moved too fast and/or gun was too far away but you are right that orange peel is better than runs
You did really good on your 2nd vehicle...one tip: use as long strokes as possible. I saw when you were painting the bumper, the skinny parts over the air inlet, you went half way, and then back and then partway then back. It should have been one long stroke start to finish....one way to prevent orange peel is a finer atomization of the paint...more reducer or higher air pressure will achieve that.
@@semihyilmaz4699 with the clear. Except if u really make a huuuge mistake on paint the orange peel came with the clear or when u do a bad sanding primer
@@semihyilmaz4699 As the other guy said, you can get orange peel in the paint layer as well. If you didn't have it on the paint, then have it on the clear, it's how you sprayed the clear. I looked up online what the cause is and it's the "mist" or "atomization" of the material isn't fine enough.
For someone that never painted, this is a good job. Get some lessons from the Kandyman or from Andrey of LNC Painter. I bet they can teach you a lot over the phone. One thing they will all say: The prep work is most important. We hate prep work, until it finally clicks.
Hi Ben, I think you did an outstanding job. That’s what wet sanding and buffing is all about. The other thing to keep in mind, it’s a work truck. As far as the DS mirror goes, and I’m sure you know this you can just get a replacement glass, I think. We used to anyway. That said, maybe your mirror is internally damaged??? Not sure, anyway you’ll have the answers. See you in the next installment.
You did good. Only thing that may help is less stopping. So spray all the way across if possible. long strokes and less stopping will lay it down better. Less chances of running the paint too. Looks good and I admire your willingness to learn. We need more youngsters like you in the world.
Great job on your 2nd paint job for sure, Tip, When painting, Carry the paint well into the next panel, don't stop at the edge of the panel, you will get a build up at the edges, Also on your sealer, spray the edges down with reducer to melt those edges.
Awesome on getting it done, and accidents happens like with the wing mirror, and yeah just more practice with painting it will get better awesome young man 👍🏽👏🤙
Ben, as your attorney, I advise you not to get mirrors that stick out even further. 😀 Also, happy to see you repair those doors rather than replace them. Save a few hundred large right there. Makes a much better video too. Sidebar: who ever does the music for your videos - excellent!
Looks good it turned out really good. Imo I would've just painted the entire truck, you basically painted over half of the truck anyway. That is a good looking blue.
as a car painter, you do a really good job, it's not easy to spray clear when time is hot, clear is already dry while you are spraying haha. Good Job, i appreciate this, don't forget after you degrease to go with dry tack clothes, degreaser every time let some dust on the car, i spend a lot of time to know where come from trash on my paint and tack clothes reduce like 60% of my trash i appreciate ur vids have a nice day c:
No lie, I love that you’re STILL learning! I’m sure Paul can throw. Some more tips your way ;) You picked the best week to do it too with LOW traffic there at the shop lol
Great job! I've also backed up my mirrors 2 times in my garage doorway on my two cars... even though I've backed into the garage a million time, but sometimes I guess shit happens when you're tired or something.
Great color on the truck!!! I would look into the front suspension. It definitely is not sitting right especially with how those upper control arms looked
I’ve done the same thing to the mirror on my wife’s Sequoia! Her mirror had the heated mirrors and the replacement mirror was $200! Nice work on the truck!
Good video Ben. Love watching you and your brothers build cars. I haven't seen Mark or Yeary in a few weeks. Hope everything is good. Let them know we are concerned. LOVE.
I know you’ve been super busy with other projects, marriage, and all but I for one would love to see the old 65 mustang back and finished brother! Loved following that build!
if it helps when i put some clear coat i but just a bit of reducer on the clear coat and that helps out to get a smooth paint job that and to get the air presure right if its too low you will get orange peal and the other thing its to lay down the second coat when the first its not fully dry so it could blend and stick with the first one
Nice work as always, you'll get there as far as paint is concerned. You put together a McLaren that needed a tub swap so what's little paint compared to that. Just be patient with yourself and keep practicing and you'll nail it. 👌🏾♥️🇿🇦
Looks great, little tip when spraying repair areas next to blend panels is to quickly mask up your blend panels so you’re not spraying sealer on your blend panels, also reduces the amount of base you use since you won’t have to cover up your sealer overspray on the blend panels. It helps to keep your blend areas a bit smaller too if you don’t have a ton of room for your blend. Hope that makes sense. Great job.
Looks great to me Ben. I can't afford perfection anyway. You'll just keep getting better. Thanks for letting us watch you learn,it's much better than being a cocky "know it all".
Really nice video. I know you were getting some static from folks in the last video saying that you should have gotten a heavier duty trim / model, but I think this plus your awesome bargain trailer will work out perfect for your usual faire (US classics / Euro exotics). If you're only towing sports cars (in pieces lol), no need for a giant truck with poor gas mileage 👍.
Can't wait for you to make a video on the trailer if I was you I would try to pound that metal back out on the fender out straight and try to reboot it back on one thing is like everybody tells me somebody's going to hit a fender and put a dent in it or tear it up eventually or accidentally another thing you can do is look for axles off of camper takeoffs probably buy one off of marketplace cheap and throw it right under there
Scuff it down and spray one good WET coat and u won't have to do much buffing ur fan was too wide when you sprayed the clear in my opinion and u probably need to look at the specs on your bad ass new gun and see what Devellbis recommends for air pressure and such and that way you will have a baseline air pressure and then you can tweak it for ur liking up or down a touch cause that gun should lay down some Slick paintjods and now with that u can spray em as good as ur boys @Goonzquad one day
Good job V tune , as the old guys would always say everything is 90% preparation, to get a good job, and it takes time to master anything so keep trying and God bless Mate.
It doesn't matter at this stage how good you are, as you will only improve with practice. OK so you need to sand and buff a touch, but to me that is a very good attempt. Well done Ben. Cheers, Bob
So for discussion purposes, would anyone have sealed only the fender and front door? I work as an estimator in a dealership owned bodyshop and we would mask off the hood and rear door than apply the sealer coat. Followed by several coats of the blue than pull the masking from the hood and rear door and continue with blending out the color. A benefit to this process is it reduces the dry spray. If you took more time with blowing the vehicle and parts you would have lesser dust. Also try using a static blow gun. Just sharing how we do it in our shop.
Props on including the mirror damage...that's how things go in my life...LOL. Also great to see you STILL learning stuff in that trade...you are a magician on the steps before the final stage...keep on growin'!!!
That's vtune always giving us his best, have a crazy question why didn't you use that macksey puller on the door. Keep up the hard work it will pay off in the long run 👍👍
great job man, love the colour, its my personal favourite. And it hides a multitude of marks. you are deoffo getting better at the painting, dont knock yourself you are doing a fantastic job
So glad you included that clip with the wing mirror, huge respect 🤣😅
Best moment of the video 😂
Leeeeessss Goooo!
2 videos in 2 days! Awesome! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
@2:23 😮😂 I know it was broken already 😅

Orange peel has something to do with how you spray the paint or how you spray the clear coat?
@@semihyilmaz4699 with the clear.

Good call to get extended tow mirrors, just make sure you check if you bring in to the shop again or widen the shop doorway!!
For someone that never painted, this is a good job. Get some lessons from the Kandyman or from Andrey of LNC Painter. I bet they can teach you a lot over the phone. One thing they will all say: The prep work is most important. We hate prep work, until it finally clicks.
With a cut & buff it's going to be mint! Almost done already!! 😮

That was a priceless 'Doh' moment when you clipped your mirror Ben! 🤣😂
Great episode. Appreciate the transparency with the mirror and orange peel. You seam to be having more fun. Thanks for the content.
Lucky you were taking that door apart 😊
Always loved Ford for their cheap parts.
Yer a natural boy, ya look like a painter and ya paint like a painter, No painter ever been any better right outta the gate!
Awesome job. I am glad you repaired the door instead of replacing it.
Awesome Ben. I'm sure you will master the nack in spray painting. Color is great.Take care.
Great job on your 2nd paint job for sure, Tip, When painting, Carry the paint well into the next panel, don't stop at the edge of the panel, you will get a build up at the edges, Also on your sealer, spray the edges down with reducer to melt those edges.
i am amazed at people like you who know how to do everything. what a gift you have. Anything I try i make a mess of
That trunk would definitely look sharp with some nice off road wheels and tires nice job V Tune
Awesome on getting it done, and accidents happens like with the wing mirror, and yeah just more practice with painting it will get better awesome young man 👍🏽👏🤙
Appreciate your honesty man the way you've done that mirror hilarious😂😂😂
Don’t be so hard on yourself you’re doing great v tuned,I love painting most of all.thanks John from Arizona
Ben, as your attorney, I advise you not to get mirrors that stick out even further. 😀 Also, happy to see you repair those doors rather than replace them. Save a few hundred large right there. Makes a much better video too. Sidebar: who ever does the music for your videos - excellent!
OUCH that hurt with the mirror, thanks for your honesty and showing the mistakes ! Been there, done that ! Good work on the rest of the vehicle.
Looks good it turned out really good. Imo I would've just painted the entire truck, you basically painted over half of the truck anyway. That is a good looking blue.
Only way to learn is to keep trying and get good! Nice work. Keep it going
I'm with you on painting, hate the prep and tapeing, love the painting..👍

I laughed really hard when you clipped your mirror. The reaction was awesome.
No lie, I love that you’re STILL learning! I’m sure Paul can throw. Some more tips your way ;)
You picked the best week to do it too with LOW traffic there at the shop lol
Ben , 3 coats of clear with flash time between coats depending on the clear manufacturers spec’s
Temperature affects flash time as well 😁
Great job! I've also backed up my mirrors 2 times in my garage doorway on my two cars... even though I've backed into the garage a million time, but sometimes I guess shit happens when you're tired or something.
Great Job, it's your shop truck, good place to practice. Great job on the door too.
Great color on the truck!!! I would look into the front suspension. It definitely is not sitting right especially with how those upper control arms looked
Looks amazing..
when you will back to mustang??
Cannot wait to see the mustang done this year.
Man, I laughed so hard when you broke the truck mirror. It's exactly the sort of thing I would have done!
LOVE.
Nice to see you painting Ben keep it up you will get better with time!
You might want to check clear coat adhesion with some masking tape before you spend anytime sanding and buffing
I know you’ve been super busy with other projects, marriage, and all but I for one would love to see the old 65 mustang back and finished brother! Loved following that build!
When you spray clear do a light tack coat then 2 heavier flow coats. It also helps to spray end to end with out stopping.
Vtuned, don't be so hard on yourself. You are the man.
Came out pretty good. Helps with the much better spray gun.
Well Done Bud 👍👍Your getting better with the painting 👍👍

Love your videos Ben shame about the mirror 😂 but the upgrade would be loads better, where have the 23’rd garage boys gone??
Ben definitely has the best content! lots of great work!
As long as the new paint looks close to factory job, thats the main thing.. Great Buy..

Door looks great. I was surprised when you were thinking of buying a new one.
Looks great Ben! Don't be too hard on yourself. I have a hard time with clear coat also. Some guys make it look so easy. Great Job! :)
You’re right its a really good job !
Nice work on the truck and the paint work. You will improve with experience. Keep up the good work !

Good job V tune , as the old guys would always say everything is 90% preparation, to get a good job, and it takes time to master anything so keep trying and God bless Mate.
You needed a mirror update anyways it was laugh nice lol work as always give us a update after the buff 👍👋🇨🇦
Don’t be to hard on yourself Ben looks pretty damn good to me and the trash will buff out . Good work my man 👍
Every master started as an apprentice and we all learn with time. Continue doing your great job 👍
Wax on Wax off
The DV1 is 22psi or 1.5 Bar for spraying, is an awesome gun I actually owned 2 of them myself, great job Ben
It doesn't matter at this stage how good you are, as you will only improve with practice. OK so you need to sand and buff a touch, but to me that is a very good attempt.

Your paint skills are very good nice work!

Yeah definitely upgrade the mirrors. But you probably can never back up into the garage again. That was gold
you done amazing Ben but those front spring spacers would have to go
Looking healthy Ben!! Keep up the hard work
Nice job ! 😁👍🍺
What a transforamation! From wrecked to a very nice truck.
This guy is talented...he could fix anything with a hammer.... can't drive but he's talented
You did just fine and each time going forward it’ll keep getting better. If you can sand and polish it nobody will ever know.
Props on including the mirror damage...that's how things go in my life...LOL. Also great to see you STILL learning stuff in that trade...you are a magician on the steps before the final stage...keep on growin'!!!
Man back in the day we had a primer gun a paint and a clear gun . Loving the content. Sending our blessing out to you keep up the hustle.
Good for you learning on the fly. Bounce ideas off your brothers and Eleazer and you’ll be fine.
Awesome job bud. The only way to learn is to keep doing it and you are well on your way. Is there anything you can’t do with cars. 😊
Putting out that content! Enjoying all the hustle lately.
That paint job looks good to me.
Heck of a lot better than i woulda done! Lol
Love the color ❤
That's vtune always giving us his best, have a crazy question why didn't you use that macksey puller on the door. Keep up the hard work it will pay off in the long run 👍👍
Man I love your videos, they are simple and we do learn a lot from it. Keep up the good work ✌️
Ben,you did good.just keep doing what your doing and on to the next.truck does look nice.kudos to you sir.👍👍👍😎😎😎
Hey Ben don't over do yourself. You got one heck of a deal on a "work" truck and trailer for the shop. Dents and scratches add character.
Hey brother, I just wanted to commend you on what a good job you do. You are one of the few I will continue to watch! Great job and God bless.
Love that color V-tuned it looks o good in the sun!
well done ben .it come out ok just keep at it fella you will get there in the end
Have you considered a seat swap? Is it possible to get the 8 or 10 way power seat and plug and play, I’ve always wondered?!
Ben come on man last thing you need is an extended mirror 😅
Oooo shiny 😳 aww just puta stock mirror back on it , it’s a daily runner , geeez next you’ll wanna turn it into a Shelby look a like . 👊🏼👍🏼
Nice job on that door, that’s the content we don’t deserve but you give it.
Looks good bro. You will figure it out.
HI V-TUNED GREAT VIDEO WITH GETTING THE TRUCK READY FOR PAINT. THE PAINT CAME OUT NICE WITH THE NEW PAINT GUN. TAKE CARE. 😊
The Kandy Man is a beast with a paint gun. Maybe you can get with him since he has a UA-cam channel as well and get some training from him.
great job man, love the colour, its my personal favourite. And it hides a multitude of marks. you are deoffo getting better at the painting, dont knock yourself you are doing a fantastic job
