Hi Ben, I think you did an outstanding job. That’s what wet sanding and buffing is all about. The other thing to keep in mind, it’s a work truck. As far as the DS mirror goes, and I’m sure you know this you can just get a replacement glass, I think. We used to anyway. That said, maybe your mirror is internally damaged??? Not sure, anyway you’ll have the answers. See you in the next installment.
Don't beat yourself up too much. You're already ahead of a lot of people making a living painting. I've been spraying for 25 years and it's good to be on your toes practicing, honing the craft, learning, etc. It is a constant struggle for perfection. There are a lot of factors in getting orange peel but mostly you moved too fast and/or gun was too far away but you are right that orange peel is better than runs
You did really good on your 2nd vehicle...one tip: use as long strokes as possible. I saw when you were painting the bumper, the skinny parts over the air inlet, you went half way, and then back and then partway then back. It should have been one long stroke start to finish....one way to prevent orange peel is a finer atomization of the paint...more reducer or higher air pressure will achieve that.
@@semihyilmaz4699 with the clear. Except if u really make a huuuge mistake on paint the orange peel came with the clear or when u do a bad sanding primer
@@semihyilmaz4699 As the other guy said, you can get orange peel in the paint layer as well. If you didn't have it on the paint, then have it on the clear, it's how you sprayed the clear. I looked up online what the cause is and it's the "mist" or "atomization" of the material isn't fine enough.
Great job! I've also backed up my mirrors 2 times in my garage doorway on my two cars... even though I've backed into the garage a million time, but sometimes I guess shit happens when you're tired or something.
Really nice video. I know you were getting some static from folks in the last video saying that you should have gotten a heavier duty trim / model, but I think this plus your awesome bargain trailer will work out perfect for your usual faire (US classics / Euro exotics). If you're only towing sports cars (in pieces lol), no need for a giant truck with poor gas mileage 👍.
Great color on the truck!!! I would look into the front suspension. It definitely is not sitting right especially with how those upper control arms looked
Props on including the mirror damage...that's how things go in my life...LOL. Also great to see you STILL learning stuff in that trade...you are a magician on the steps before the final stage...keep on growin'!!!
Nice work as always, you'll get there as far as paint is concerned. You put together a McLaren that needed a tub swap so what's little paint compared to that. Just be patient with yourself and keep practicing and you'll nail it. 👌🏾♥️🇿🇦
No lie, I love that you’re STILL learning! I’m sure Paul can throw. Some more tips your way ;) You picked the best week to do it too with LOW traffic there at the shop lol
Ben, as your attorney, I advise you not to get mirrors that stick out even further. 😀 Also, happy to see you repair those doors rather than replace them. Save a few hundred large right there. Makes a much better video too. Sidebar: who ever does the music for your videos - excellent!
Awesome on getting it done, and accidents happens like with the wing mirror, and yeah just more practice with painting it will get better awesome young man 👍🏽👏🤙
great job man, love the colour, its my personal favourite. And it hides a multitude of marks. you are deoffo getting better at the painting, dont knock yourself you are doing a fantastic job
That's vtune always giving us his best, have a crazy question why didn't you use that macksey puller on the door. Keep up the hard work it will pay off in the long run 👍👍
if it helps when i put some clear coat i but just a bit of reducer on the clear coat and that helps out to get a smooth paint job that and to get the air presure right if its too low you will get orange peal and the other thing its to lay down the second coat when the first its not fully dry so it could blend and stick with the first one
So for discussion purposes, would anyone have sealed only the fender and front door? I work as an estimator in a dealership owned bodyshop and we would mask off the hood and rear door than apply the sealer coat. Followed by several coats of the blue than pull the masking from the hood and rear door and continue with blending out the color. A benefit to this process is it reduces the dry spray. If you took more time with blowing the vehicle and parts you would have lesser dust. Also try using a static blow gun. Just sharing how we do it in our shop.
i thought you guys were the best at bodywork painters until i saw kandy man do a paint job. his turns out smooth as glass. i like your paint gun though
Any news on your brothers, they are MIA for 2-3 weeks now. 23rd Garage and Motorhead havent uploaded a video for a long time.... taking a super long vacation??? The truck is turning out great, i wouldnt buff it, as its a work truck, its one colour, good enough IMO.
Ben keep the truck , use it for awhile when your tired of it sell it. If the worse you do is break even on your investment and get all the work you get out of it is free. Free is a good thing
Sucks about the mirror being crushed. I tried to drive into my garage a few weeks ago and forgot I had my kayaks on the roof. Made a mess of my roof and racks. Just gotta be able to laugh at yourself sometimes. Sh#t happens. 🙂
Ben hope the family is good. Wife, Mom and Dad. Hope your siblings are well also. Thanks for sharing. You did a great job. For something iut of your normal element. Atau safe and be well. Slava Ukraini
The orange peel is normal for this ford blue color, even from factory the ford color blue has orange peel, had just the same color and repainted twice it still the same
Bro don't knock yourself on that paint job, it looked good. Just keep getting more practice like you said and you will improve. Goonzquad has some cars that you can practice and we benefit with some more collabs
What year is that truck? The batteries in those tire pressure senders are only good for about 7 years. If that truck is more than 7 years old, it may need new TPMS sensors. Discount Tire charged me $60 a piece to replace them last time I bought a set of tires
So glad you included that clip with the wing mirror, huge respect 🤣😅
Best moment of the video 😂

With a cut & buff it's going to be mint! Almost done already!! 😮

Orange peel has something to do with how you spray the paint or how you spray the clear coat?
@@semihyilmaz4699 with the clear.

When you spray clear do a light tack coat then 2 heavier flow coats. It also helps to spray end to end with out stopping.
Great job! I've also backed up my mirrors 2 times in my garage doorway on my two cars... even though I've backed into the garage a million time, but sometimes I guess shit happens when you're tired or something.
Man, I laughed so hard when you broke the truck mirror. It's exactly the sort of thing I would have done!

Don’t be so hard on yourself you’re doing great v tuned,I love painting most of all.thanks John from Arizona

Nice to see you painting Ben keep it up you will get better with time!
That was a priceless 'Doh' moment when you clipped your mirror Ben! 🤣😂
Ben come on man last thing you need is an extended mirror 😅
No lie, I love that you’re STILL learning! I’m sure Paul can throw. Some more tips your way ;)
You picked the best week to do it too with LOW traffic there at the shop lol
Awesome Ben. I'm sure you will master the nack in spray painting. Color is great.Take care.
Awesome job bud. The only way to learn is to keep doing it and you are well on your way. Is there anything you can’t do with cars. 😊
Ben, as your attorney, I advise you not to get mirrors that stick out even further. 😀 Also, happy to see you repair those doors rather than replace them. Save a few hundred large right there. Makes a much better video too. Sidebar: who ever does the music for your videos - excellent!
OUCH that hurt with the mirror, thanks for your honesty and showing the mistakes ! Been there, done that ! Good work on the rest of the vehicle.
Awesome on getting it done, and accidents happens like with the wing mirror, and yeah just more practice with painting it will get better awesome young man 👍🏽👏🤙
Good job Ben. The more you do it the better you will get.
great job man, love the colour, its my personal favourite. And it hides a multitude of marks. you are deoffo getting better at the painting, dont knock yourself you are doing a fantastic job
Man I love your videos, they are simple and we do learn a lot from it. Keep up the good work ✌️
That's vtune always giving us his best, have a crazy question why didn't you use that macksey puller on the door. Keep up the hard work it will pay off in the long run 👍👍
As long as the new paint looks close to factory job, thats the main thing.. Great Buy..
Appreciate your honesty man the way you've done that mirror hilarious😂😂😂
You might want to check clear coat adhesion with some masking tape before you spend anytime sanding and buffing
if it helps when i put some clear coat i but just a bit of reducer on the clear coat and that helps out to get a smooth paint job that and to get the air presure right if its too low you will get orange peal and the other thing its to lay down the second coat when the first its not fully dry so it could blend and stick with the first one
i was like "BRUH" when you bumped the mirror 🤣🤣
Ben,you did good.just keep doing what your doing and on to the next.truck does look nice.kudos to you sir.👍👍👍😎😎😎
That mirror sequence was a whole damn movie!
I'm dead at you breaking the mirror. I've done that as well in my own garage 😂
Looks amazing..
when you will back to mustang??
Cannot wait to see the mustang done this year.
Only way to learn is to keep trying and get good! Nice work. Keep it going
HI V-TUNED GREAT VIDEO WITH GETTING THE TRUCK READY FOR PAINT. THE PAINT CAME OUT NICE WITH THE NEW PAINT GUN. TAKE CARE. 😊
Dude, the look on you face when you hit that mirror was priceless lol.
Vtuned, don't be so hard on yourself. You are the man.
The mirror was a "compost" 😮 happens moment. Makes for a good excuse to upgrade!
“ It’s a Ford, the parts are cheap “‼️💯😂😂😂😂 #MirrorGone
I LMAO'd at the wing mirror situation
Love your videos Ben shame about the mirror 😂 but the upgrade would be loads better, where have the 23’rd garage boys gone??
Problem with the extended mirror is that it will be even tougher to get it through the garage door. ;)
That FORD chime is horrific. Pull that relay immediately. Really enjoy watching your processes

You did a nice job, I admire your effort. it looks fine.
What a transforamation! From wrecked to a very nice truck.
You needed a mirror update anyways it was laugh nice lol work as always give us a update after the buff 👍👋🇨🇦
Nice work on that driver's door!!!
Ford's are perfect to practice on. Think the tow rig needs a little bigger wheels.
You done a great job Ben
Lol, “not as rewarding as you would think”. At least he’s honest.
I’ve seen some guys use a deflated football and stuff inside the door then inflate it gently and it pops the dent out
That look was priceless lol
Bro the mirror too! You were almost done!! 😂😂😂😂
Looks good bro. You will figure it out.
i thought you guys were the best at bodywork painters until i saw kandy man do a paint job. his turns out smooth as glass. i like your paint gun though
Don’t worry about it after it sits in the sun for a couple of weeks. It’ll all look the same and throw a few rock chips in it.
well done ben .it come out ok just keep at it fella you will get there in the end
That is 100% my favorite ford color .. Looks great
Yo V what's the name of that song when you start working on the door that is so cool !!
Lol new mirror upgrade. 😂 Cracked me up
7 years bad luck if you break a mirror is what some people say. Ben needs to appease the Gods of "Bad Luck." 😄😄😄
"Don't Overthink It. It's Just Paint."
Good job Vtune! I really enjoy your new videos.
dont forget the mirror on that door. lol
Needed a new mirror either way 😂
Nice job ! 😁👍🍺
Old school would do a fog coat which is add reducer and turn up the air pressure fog it. It will lay down.
Never ever be afraid of hard work.
impressive metal work. My first impression was why waste the time and just get another door but didn't look like it took too long.
Notification squad where you at🇦🇺
5:32 who else went OUCH when the door swung open? lol......
Good job Ben!!

Haha extended mirrors now thats a great idea
great job Ben...
Rookie mistake with that mirror smack 😂
With the Maxi dent puller that door is no match for it and you behind the machine it will get fixed
CHECK THE TIRE PRESSURE !!!!
Dope; ur a mad man! Just finally subscribed! 💪
Mirror glass just pops on
come on painting best thing i love in damagede cars
Are you sure you need longer protruding mirrors? Just kidding, it happens to all one or another time. No big deal. Lol
Next upgrade please upgrade those tires
I like truck paint in sun. Nice
As a bloke from the uk Ben I was hoping to hear you say the word “Bollox” when the side mirror hit your garage...
What happened to the process of the 65 mustang
for just one fender and door you painted the almost whole car ? it wasn't better to take your time and match the paint ?
why don't you get Paul to help you learn how to paint? He's right there and seems like he has so much experience
Bro don't knock yourself on that paint job, it looked good. Just keep getting more practice like you said and you will improve. Goonzquad has some cars that you can practice and we benefit with some more collabs
What happened ed to the old school mustang you were doing, also what ever happened to the white Ferrari?
Looks like you are building your own junkyard out there.
What year is that truck? The batteries in those tire pressure senders are only good for about 7 years. If that truck is more than 7 years old, it may need new TPMS sensors. Discount Tire charged me $60 a piece to replace them last time I bought a set of tires
Good video. No subliminal ads. Saved $800 but cost myself $200.😂
