Finally got to visit my mom after 2.5 yrs this past summer. Took my daughter on her first cross country road trip and we drove to Long Beach and stopped at all sorts of places along the way. I hugged my mom for a solid 5 minutes, and I cried too cause I’m a mamas boy. Best vacation ever.

I think one of the main impotences in any relationship is focusing on a third thing.
It's not focusing on one person or the other, which can be really weird and ego inflating, but on the building and maintenance of something else. Whether it's physical or mental, it's something the people in a relationship can look back on and see what the relationship is capable of accomplishing through sustained endeavorence.
You and your dad can look back on your deck and see what both of you were able to do. And when the deck has aged and could use maintenance, you both can work on it again as you mainten your relationship... even if your dad might be older and slower than he used to be. He can still be there to keep you company, and help in whatever way you need.
And if you have kids, you can share that same maintenance in the future... Or a different one, as each relationship can have their own third thing to focus on.

Have faith in JESUS CHRIST as LORD and SAVIOR for HE SAVES from hell❗️
      *What is the Gospel?*
The true gospel is the good news that God saves sinners. Man is by nature sinful and separated from God with no hope of remedying that situation. But God, by His power, provided the means of man’s redemption in the death, burial, and resurrection of the Savior, Jesus Christ.
      Ephesians 2:8-9
For it is by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of GOD, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.
      Romans 10:9
9 because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
      JESUS CHRIST can come anytime!
Just Believe ❤️ Love you and GOD BLESS

As to talking to the dogs in two languages, imagine doing that with your kids like I do. My youngest only speaks danish, although she understands about 60% Faroese. And my oldest speaks both languages fluently. I get it mixed up constantly but it still works Lol. Love what you did to the camper! Love from Denmark

In 2019 my job with an airline allowed me to fly my mother to the states. She’d not been back since 2006. I had been in highschool the last she’d seen me. None of her children had been married, and none of her grandchildren had been born. She’d also been very sick in the in between years and unable to travel. Sadly she’d lost her husband the year before.
13 years apart. And she was coming to my home.
I wound up on anxiety meds finally!
2019 wound up the perfect window of opportunity for it to happen. She got to hug my niece and nephew. Meet her son and daughter in-laws.
    Hug her siblings!

I can definitely see where you get your creativeness from and the caravan looked great! It gives me ideas to revamp my parents old rv they have in France as a “spare room” suite for guests who don’t fit in the farmhouse.
