  • Went to check out our other block after not being there for 6 months. Wow! Was there some water!! But managed to bag an interesting specimen of a cat and saved a new born calf from a prying wild dog.

    just came back from the cousins farm, a pack of 5 wild dogs were harassing the kids at the bas stop and one finally bit a 9 year girl, the game warden shot a dear , dragged it out in the field and we waited for the dogs, dogs in a pack are fearless

      And that's exactly what they do to calves. They take turns to wear out the mother till she gets tired then kill the calf.

    Pushing brigalow with a D6D air cab in melon hole country is always exciting when you find a deep one out of nowhere. it was great for taking the .308 with me and shooting the odd dog flowing along behind you. I'd often take my pig dog ''Taz'' with me on it for catching pigs, she got used to having earmuffs on it was so cute she was a cool dog. Man I loved working on the station it was living life, I'm so grateful I got to grow up on the land.

Years ago i flipped the quad on top of myself trying to chase down a wild dog and run it over. But if the bike had roll over protection I'd either be dead or be in a wheelchair with a broken back. So I learned to not take risks on them and drive to the conditions and your abilities and you will be safest. You do stupid things and you end up in trouble. 👍

So now you can't buy any of the good brands like Honda and Yamaha over here anymore because they said they aren't going to stuff around putting them on their bikes so they just stopped exporting them here. Its just the craziness of OH&S that keep wrapping people up in cotton wool instead of teaching people to use common sense and be responsible for their own actions. These days you can do something stupid and hurt yourself and then turn around and sue someone else for what you did. Absolute madness if you ask me.

    Why would you want to shoot a cat for that was doing no harm, except killing a few mice and rats, I didn't see any chickens. I can understand dogs if they are attacking livestock, that is normal, but a 🙀 cat, WHY.? Winifred Thompson. Northern Ireland.

    • @intothenight1993
      @intothenight1993  Рік тому +1

      Good question. Why because they are the most destructive introduced feral pest in the country to the small native wildlife. Yes they do eat a few mice when they are around and we don't really get rats. But they have made some species of small native animals extinct and are endangering many others. So the government has put a bounty on their heads to encourage people to wipe them out. That's why I shoot every cat I can find. Plus I hate them. The only good cat is a DEAD cat. 💥💥💥

      @@intothenight1993 Then Sir, put it this way, and I don't mean to be rude to you, but think about it. Why shouldn't somebody shoot you, Have you destroyed nothing, hasn't the cat every right to live as well as you. I am from Northern Ireland, and if you went out to deliberately persecute and destroy cats, you would be in prison. If there is a law against cats, to exterminate them, why are the humane animal shelters in America trying to save as many cats as possible, and tending their injuries. I believe you are just trigger happy, and everything that gets in your way you think it fair game to kill it. I DONT. Winifred Thompson. Northern Ireland.

    • @intothenight1993
      @intothenight1993  Рік тому +1

      well I can't explain it any better than I did. You are obviously a cat lover so I have no idea why you watch my videos. I have had so many comments from people in America saying that cats are a huge problem over there and that they should be allowed to cull them as well. But they have too many crazy cat loving do gooders over there that are blind to the problem and all they want to do is have a world full of cats. I couldn't imagine anything worse. But thankfully over here in Australia the government seems to have a bit more sense about it and want us to eradicate them. As much as I dislike the greenies that's one thing I agree with them on. They want the cats taken out of the ecosystem too. And no I am not just trigger happy (unless there is a cat in my sights) but only shoot animals that are pests or need to be controlled. I have a lot of respect for wild dogs and I think they are beautiful and very intelligent animals but they need to be controlled because they destroy peoples livelihoods. But the same can't be said about feral cats. haha yes I hate cats with a passion if you couldn't guess.

    • @winifredthompson465
      @winifredthompson465 Рік тому

      THANK you for your reply, I don't know the laws of America, I know here in Northern Ireland and Gt. Britain, a cat can not trespass. It is free to go where it will, if it was killing someone's pigeons that may be different, the law here would, probably state you did not have your pigeons well enough protected. Dogs can trespass, but cats cants, by the way I am 79, I have a lovely torteshell main coon cat, she sits with me in the evening, and is very gentle, except for killing the odd mouse, I have kept cats all my life from 7 years of age, and had no trouble with any of them, and they did keep the yard clean of mice and rats, far better than traps and poison. Winifred Thompson. Northern Ireland.

    • @intothenight1993
      @intothenight1993  Рік тому +1

      @@winifredthompson465 i have nothing against people having cats for pets as long as they are responsible with them. Maybe cats can't survive over there in the wild as well as they can over here. I know in most towns over here to that people's cats usually roam out of their yard which is fine if they are not long things they shouldn't. But in towns there aren't anywhere near as many small native animals as there are out in the bush so they won't be as much of an issue. And there are millions of feral cats out here and they are destroying many of the native animals and have even made some extinct. They have fenced off a place out in central Australia and got rid of the cats and foxes and now some of the endangered species are actually doing well. So the big difference is they cats I'm shooting are feral killers not nice soft cuddly gentle house cats.
