      @@intothenight1993 The constant jarring is likely to test that out. Likewise the quality of the metal and build with potential metal fatigue. Will be interesting how it lasts if the rifle setup handles it. Carrying the rifle shouldered or maybe on a ATV padded gun rack then using the rest for shooting would seem to be less punishing for it, maybe a bit slower.
      Would be religiously checking it on target a few times after a trip for peace of mind.

    • @intothenight1993
      @intothenight1993  Рік тому

      @@johnmead8437 I’ve carried this rifle in pretty much every vehicle in the property is many different ways and it is often bouncing around but not getting bumped and knocked. In the quad rest it still doesn’t get knocked but just gets shaken around and the vibrations from the bike. But still none of that is as bad as the jar from the recoil. I only check it maybe I every month or two and haven’t ready had to adjust it yet. Maybe 1 or 2 clicks left or right at most.

    Ref the Quadrest, front end. You don want to have a strap that effectively compresses the barrel onto the fore-ends of the stock. You dont want anything to apply pressure between those 2 components. Ruins accuracy. Just need a secure fitting between the fore-end and the mounting.

    • @intothenight1993
      @intothenight1993  Рік тому

      Yes I know that and had another strap on the bottom on a sling adapter for a while but it ripped through after a few days of use so I went back to having one over the barrel as it’s more secure in the rough stuff. I just forgot to take it off when I started shooting. Maybe I could leave it on and sight it in with it on so it is shooting right in the rack and make a note of elevation adjustment and just wind it back to zero again when I take it off the bike.
