The difference in Cole being a serious focused knight who’s come from modest beginnings vs a rich boarding school snarky clown essentially (but I love the latter way more)
Gwayne's no slouch - he was besting Daemon in a jousting tourney in s1e1 until Daemon started cheating and unhorsed him

Just went back and watched the tourney from season 1 and when qwyane faces daemon I made no connection. Dude looked menacing and then you see him without the helmet and it’s like oh but yeah great actor probably wasn’t cast yet

And no, HOTD isn't a reliable source to describe characters, especially given how much that fool Condal changed.

The way Moondancer changes vector instantly when approaching the treeline was so nice and smooth.

Some of his decisions are dumb though, like marching to rooks rest in broad daylight, or sending Arryk to an impossible mission

In the books, the woods on the Rosby Road are a royal forest planted by Maegor the Cruel used for the construction of ships. It's all old oak. Burning those would damage the legitimacy of Rhaenrya's cause even more.
Young dragons don't have as strong of a fire breath or as much stamina. She would tire out before being able to burn a substantial part of the forest down.

1:20 I enjoyed the suspense in this scene. Ser Criston and Gwayne only had minutes to ride hard and fast before they faced Baela on Moondancer. The chase itself was acted incredibly well, with great fear and tension!
Also funny that even the smallest dragon is making 10+ knights in full armour run like frightened little children.
Baela is so menacing, love her.

I think cavalry forces should have dispersed while running towards the forest in order to reduce the chances of a dragon destroying the whole group in a single attack
Best guess it's survival instinct. If they disperse they will know they are screwed if the dragon focuses on them.
They beelined it for the nearest cover, yeah once under cover they could've spread out in case the dragon started burning the forest. But what they did wasn't wrong, especially since they only had a few seconds to make a decision

Sorry, but as a poor person, I don't get why everybody's dunking on Gwayne for being exactly what a lordling would be. Of course he likes to be comfortable when he can. If he understood the risk of doing going out, he would not have tried it. As he says later on, he's afraid because he's rational. That's fair.
Gwayne is not wanton like Aegon, haughty like Aemond, distant like Otto, or cruel like Larys. He's just some rich dude.

Galloping horses full speed into thick woods is a really effective way to break all your horses’ legs. Just like the opening scene of Gladiator, very silly. Turns out, there’s a reason cavalry always like big open fields.

@@stephenjenkins7971 1, No way that forest is too green to all go up if you burnt a small area around them. 2, The Greens control those forests, so some damage now to take out the hand of the king and general (Cole) and his officers to the current main green army while that said army is out in the field would be worth it.

Baela wasn't thinking like Aemond, if she caught them, then what? I believe that she didn't use fire because it's not their territory and they're trying to gain more allies. You can't go around damaging people's property, possibly starting a forest fire that might kill innocents and expect them to join your side.
Thanks for the explanations but I believe she was close enough to see that is Creston and Alicent's brother. All she had to do was throw a firebolt. War was already declared when her brother was killed by Aemon. That was a point blank shot right there literally. I say it's the plot armor.
