When Nick Kyrgios faced Daniil Medvedev for the first time! Craziest match-up ever?
After we explored the Gael Monfils vs Dustin Brown, and Nick Kyrigos vs. Dustin Brown, I had to find a match that lives up to the expectations! - Спорт
I would say what won him the match is not necessarily his trick shots but his serve. It's crazy how he pulled such powerful, acurate serves so consistently.
100%. Kyrgios gets away with this because he knows he is gonna pull through on his powerful serve. Kyrgios is skilled player but I think it was a bit disrespectful towards Medvedev . Medvedev however remained professional throughout (minus the racket abuse )
these 2 are so out of place on clay like penguins in the desert😂😂
Why? Is the underground such a big difference?
Clearly not their style of play
Yeah out of place - so much so that one day one of them might even win a Masters 1000 on clay.
@@DrMic2112 that's true. But you can't deny that Medvedev said that he hated this surface (several times)
@@ethanrin9518 And he still does.
The potential of this guy is terrifying. It seems like if he wanted he could beat anyone without sweat. And on the other side, he seems that he doesn't even like this sport.
However, Federer shut it down.
He doesn’t like the sacrificing part
There is no potential if the work ethic isnt there unfortunately.
@@babineaux. True, Imagine what he could have accomplished if he had only taken Tennis seriously. His innate talent is off the charts, but he is so undisciplined he chose to be the court clown
kyrgios is the best player u ever seen@@ver.1.580
It was already a circus the moment you see Kyrgios putting his shoes on for the coin flip lol
Grave😂
Quelle insolent 😂
9:06 When you would rather be anywhere but here.
Yeah. Pretty much. Looks bored.
Last game was insane. 4 straight aces.
And on clay, that is!
well if you stand 20 ft behind the baseline, it opens up a lot of angle, even if you're 6'6. On the other hand it definitely gives you more time to react, and also ball slows down a bit, the further it travels...I saw Medvedev play Rublev at the US Open, he was standing against the wall to return, weird
@@geemy9675 well Kyrios pulled out 220km/h serves that basically caught the line. I don't think it's fair to blame Medvedev here.
@@charlestran7000 not blaming him, but standing that far makes you cover way more ground. it's probably related to him being so tall and a bit slower than great returners who hit the ball early & inside the court. I think he's prioritizing the fact that it gives him more time to make a longer swing and hit deep when he can hit the ball, vs blocking the ball and redirecting the speed of the serve and using the better angles enabled by hitting inside the court, like naturally gifted returners do
@@geemy9675 Dude Meddy is a great returner. Look at his stats. He is one of the best (if not the best) returner on tour right now. Like you said, it's just a choice of how he want to approach it. If he stand closer to the baseline, sure it will take away his opponent's time and cover more angle but will reduce the return quality also. It is a trade off and preference that player chose to fit their playstyle. By your logic, u think Roger is better returner than Rafa and Nole because he stand closer to the baseline?
I bursted out laughing at the 9:36 slap shot. What was that 💀These kind of matches I would watch all day.
13:11 perfect timing animation 😂
😅 what a coolincidence
When talent meets hard work 🤣🤣
I believe you need to have both to be a big 3.
How many slams did “talent” get him
@@brucebogtrotter3430 Kyrgios is bad at backhands. But there is a simple trick to become good at hitting a backhand, but he will never be able to use that trick since he doesn't have talent
@@scottwarren4998 oh yeah the easy trick that no one is aware off not even the pro's. But wait.. if the trick is easy why do you need talent to be able to use it? Do you sell videos class?
But what’s the point of being so disrespectful?
Love watching Nick play. And this match was really a circus. Nick was the ringmaster. Daniil was the lion. And the crowd went wild.
I USED TO LIKE WATCH NICK PLAY.....BUT HIS ATTITUDE REALLY SUCKS...............UNLIKE MCENROE...........WHO DID ANGRY FOR A PORPOSE......NICK'S ARROGANCE WAS HIS DOWNFALL.

These 40 seconds are gold 😂
Now, imagine someone with Kyrgios body and talent but with De Minaur desire to fight and win.
Too OP
Eh si
He would win 95% of his service games
Djokovic
Federer.
Those 5 aces at the end were just brutal lol
Medvedev saying sorry for the short drop shot when Kygrios made him look a fool all match 😂
Nick oh Nick I wished you played more. You are da man!
If he took it seriously, he would have won titles. But he let his emotions beat him down.
However, he and Monfills were both geniuses at getting into their opponents’ heads. This is a masterclass of how to throw them off their game.
Yes, Yes
NICK Is The Main Man.
Miss Him So Much.
COME BACK
COME BACK P L E A S E !!!!!
13:00 that is a lethal transition
Nice catch my man
13:10
Nik: "so I was working hard, it was an official match, for training I use the play station!"
Well.Said KingAjust.
There Will Never Be Another Nick.
God How I Miss Him.
Such Excitement, Such Drama.
Genius, Genius.
Makes It Look So Effortless.
My Favourite Tennis Player, Hands Down.
He was a shame glad he’s gone for good

Kyrgios is a great talent. He enjoys the game and is not really serious like other players. Great match👍
3:35 kyrgios under the leg shot started to piss daniil off
The last game was insane from Kyrgios. Great match both played
16:21 now that is what I call “look of contempt”
16:01 to 16:10.… Meddy on set point and nick be like who cares man...😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Lol. Idk how I missed that... The look on medvedev's face before the second serve.... Lmfao 😂
What a service! 🔥
With all the things Nick has accomplised off the court, I think he's going to come back stronger (in mind and body) than ever before. Can't wait!
He will never come back. Back would mean getting all these awful comments twice over and all these dreadful video makers working even harder to get people hating on him. Who needs it?
Kyrgious is a living proof that talent nothing to do with greatness. It takes a lot of things to win. Being humble and consistent is a key
It turns out that modern tennis can be spectacular!)
Totally. These guys were playing more like singles pickleball than singles tennis. And that's why it was so much more entertaining than normal. 😜
Watching tennis after Nick is like trying to watch TV dramas after The Wire.
I love The Wire but hate the comparison because watching Nick is more akin to watching something trashy.
14:37 lol
Theres an anime called one punchman, its a story about a guy who barely tries and destorys everyone and his sidekick called genos that tries so hard but gets beat up all the time...this is what i was watching here😂
Kyrgios made tennis FUN. He forced fans (and other players) to think "outside the box" of what was possible in a match. At times you thought you were watching a ping pong game instead of a tennis match. This guy was totally original. I miss him greatly .... so does the sport.
Yes We DO Miss Nick
Tremendously.
Come BACK!!!
I live for the soft hands drop in response to a low, hard drive from the baseline....
It's just a way of saying "not only can I handle your best... I'll put it where you can't even dream of getting it" without words, but instead with pure athleticism and IQ.
Very demoralizing when you're on the other end of it..
Nick kyrgios is like the Conor McGregor of tennis he brought entertainment, and a unique personality/playing style to tennis even people who don't like tennis enjoyed watching him, or got them into tennis he's an iconic player we'll never have another King kyrgios
Bweeh
People also compare him to Neymar alot, I get It in a sense but Neymar and Conor are both champions who won the biggest trophies/titles. Althought Kyrgios was close at Wimbledon 2022 he didn't win, I don't even think he won a Masters 1000 in his career so he's not a champion, althought he should have been. I still enjoy watching him tho
@@theobecquet8477of course he's a champion, he won a Grand Slam in doubles. People are acting like it's nothing.
In several years people will not remember what sport he played. Nobody.
Lol, iconic 🤣🤣? What are you his long lost cousin? He's entertaining I'll give you that. Iconic? Thanks for good laugh 🤣🤣
Alternate titles: Toying with medvedev or dropshot festival. Damn i was never laughing so hard by just watching a match
Glad you had fun my man!
@@WivoRN So why do you induce these people to hate Nick? These guys - Meddy, Zverev, Kyrgios, Grigor, Tsitsipas, Tiafoe...over a dozen of them used to make tennis so much fun to watch and people like you jeer and mock them so they have faded away or completely stopped entertaining. What a waste of tennis!
Looked as if Nick was in Exhibition mode..!! 😅😂
This match was a drama class, circus show, and an exhibition match all in one! 😂
The kyrgios' sportivity is beautiful some times
This is a movie 😂😂😂
15:35
This 50 second sequence sums up the entire match, possibly Nick’s career 😂
Kyrgios es un jugador excepcional 😮 su estilo es distinto y fantastico ❤
Nice editing job!
Thanks man!
great match - a bit of show doesn't hurt, and overall the level was quite good, especially from Kyrgios. And that's with him hating the surface.
Nick is one of my all time favorite players to watch play tennis, not a fan of the childish antics though.
He's beyond unprofessional.
last game was crazy
The second match with Ruud is amazing
Nick seemingly in an absolute _MOOD_ on this day back in 2019.
The following day he was disqualified for getting too upset with some guys in the crowd who were heckling him and racially abusing him. but that's Rome for you. Ruud, his opponent that day, cheered and crowed with delight when he was dq'd. Quite the gent.
Very good match that guys are very skilled
Quite the player Mr Nick ....
This is back from the era when Logic was his coach/manager
If that Kyrgios guy only had ever managed to control his sheer talent and bring it to use.
His tactics here - if there were any, and not just coincidence - were not bad. Usually you lose to Medvedev on the long run, so concentrating on the service games and disrespecting him on the rest is not a bad idea, regarding Medvedev's temper.
If he only had managed to repeat this against other players...
Genius
Now that I watch this watching two players go through so much emotion in the game feels more healthy than two players going through a game with none, this game feels less contrived, has tennis created robots to control?
Online 1/2 cdr iso I elite branding ranking one lite or heavy...lite prone traveling...
Kyrgios had the talent to win a Major but not the mind or the heart❤‼
Damn Shame.
He Has So Much Potential.
So Talented.
Genius, But Tormented Soul
He did win a major though….
Major what⁉⁉😂@@RobGaming12
A grand slam? Have you won one ?
Which one?🤔 Evidently you know absolutely nothing about tennis‼@@RobGaming12
“What will we do without you” 💀💀💀
If Kyrgios wasn’t such a head case, he could be one of the greats.
And the very next match a small number of people in the crowd abused and heckled Nick so badly that he called the supervisor who just said, Oh they're only having fun. In the end he was defaulted and shook the hands of the umpire, supervisor and his opponent, Ruud. Ruud, on the other hand, was filmed beating his chest with joy, he cheered and waved his arms in the air trying to get the crowd to applaud him. They didn't. Quite the gentleman.
what you doing kyrgios 😂
Kyrgios looks hungover
This is a comedy show 😂😂😂
Kyrgios may not know it but clay courts could be his thing. GO KYRGIOS!!!!!!
He will never play on clay again. He was disqualified the day after this match because the crowd are so horrible and racist. He vowed never to play on clay and never has since.
Nick looks like he had a big night out, the night before.
Racquet contract is aw acknowledge. Cal tech or Berkeley like career guidance.
WHO IS A BETTER PERSON IN ALL MEASURE........IS EASILY SEEN BY WHERE DANILL IS TODAY IN 2024 & WHERE NICK IS...............YES INSIDE A BOX..........
Yep, Nick is our bad boy of Aussie Tennis. Gifted and erratic.
It seems consistent with any form of artistry.. (and I'd count top tier athleticism as art, just like any painting or sculpture).
The more gifted you are in one area (be it art, math, music, etc) the less you have left over for the "normal things" that the rest of us take for granted.
They say we only use a fraction of our brain (the number seems to change depending on who you ask), and I think that's largely true.. but I don't think that means there's parts of your brain that are dormant and just waiting to be used for something.
I think that if you train your brain to be an incredible tennis (or paint or sculpture or whatever) processing machine, it necessarily takes energy and resources away from other areas.. it doesn't just grow out of nowhere.
My uncle can see/visualize/feel complex mathematics and physics in his head (a talent that attracted the team that built CERN and ultimately he helped them design and build it)... But I'll be damned if he can hold a regular, natural human conversation without appearing like an alien who has intensively studied human interactions, but is now trying it for real for the first time.
Bro said lets rap it up on game point
BWEEEH!!!
How is it relevant in this video?
@@Stu49583 yes.
The most naturally gifted tennis player, if only he'd put some hard work in he'd have won everything.
4:40 they did him dirty
Like most sports, tennis is just bouncing a ball back and forth. It should be fun to do and fun to watch. I don't know why so many fans and players are so uptight about it 😂😂😂
Bravo Curgeous !
Pete Sampras esque serving with a teen hair cut.
Kyrgios doesn't have the right temper to be a successful tennis player.
I wish I knew where this match was played and when
Rome masters 2019
Kyrgios is the typical player that Italian crowd loves. Hope to see him soon back on court
Kyrgios was just toying with medvedev, no débat
Kyrgios troppo simpatico ❤😂😂😂
as a coach kyrgios would drive me so mad the way he wastes some of those important points in key parts of the match...
when Kyrgios actually trying he’s dangerous opponent for anyone
Duran más los highlights que el partido jaja
the radar is locked at 224km/h
Daniil looks so cute here omg
if nick plays like he did against federer, I'm sure he can win a lot of titles.
"Grass is for cows"
I do not like Medvedev’s technique and game, but Nick is the best example for waste of talent. He is not normal between his ears.
this ref needs a reality check. him giving time violation for Med when this guy literally wastes less than 3 seconds every serve he does not bouncing ball 25 times before it. And him silencing crowd after Nick entertaining them is stupid
Jajajajaja crazy man, but incredibly talented
Bro its literally most normal Kyrgios match 😂
When nick was at his Prime
22:22 is hilarious. Imagine Daniil would 've hit his target.
LA differenza è che Medvedecv e numero 4 del MONDO mentre KYRGIOS e sopra il n 100,,,,a voi le deduzioni Simpatico come PAGLIACCIO
Medvedev returning from Narnia over there
KG has game.
im surprised Daniil only got 2 racket smahses considering what circumstances he played: On Clay, against Kyrgios that could easily get into any player’s head and especially back then Med wasn’t really mentally strong 🤣 and this time violation in 1st set. That could have been much more happening🤬🤣
If not for his (bad/negative) mentality Kyrgios easily could have been in the top 5 [or 10 and stay there for long]
player k in the orange? wab
Krygios sometimes looks like The Rock.
Nice match, but waaay less entertaining than Dustin vs Nadal in Wimbledon.
Kyrgios apparently full in love with M.
The only time I’ve ever cheered for Medvedev.
