- Creating a small landscape study with the Zorn Palette, White, yellow ochre, medium red and black. This study shows how to use a limited palette in painting a landscape. Using a limited palette creates harmony in a painting. This video highlights the fact that value is much more important to convey an idea or a feeling rather than a vast array of color.

Wow, that's a great video. I will always cheer for you in Korea I'm looking forward to a great video. Have a nice day.
This was excellent. Very well explained and done at a pace that allowed the instruction to sink in. These small well explained instructional videos using limited palettes are so helpful. Thanks
Thanks so much. I"m so glad you felt it was helpful. ASAP I'll be posting more videos so thanks for watching!
Love your loose brush strokes and greens.
Thank you. The limited palette surprisingly does make beautiful greens! Thank you for watching.
I like very much the ZORN palet and its amazing what can be made with it. And I really like your very calm and direct way of telling and showing what you do and Why - such a fine demonstration . You are a very good teacher🌷❤️
( I admit that I often like and use other limited palets e. g. ultramarine blue in stead of black and primary yellow in stead of yellow ochre and I often add a quinacredone red because I just love colors)
The Zorn palette is great for students. The great British landscape painter John Constable was also known for using a limited palette with some higher chroma colors. Same goes for the landscape paintings of French artist Jean Corot. Colors used by Corot consisted of; Golden Ochre, Vermillion, Green Earth or Viridian, Cobalt Blue, Ivory Black and White.
I've got to try this soon. I imagine it would be easy. My hope is that it IS easy. Looks like fun though!
Very nice. Thank you
Wow, thank you for the instructions, very helpful info!! - Rob in South Dakota
Thank you Rob.
Very helpful video. Especially if one has limited time but still wants to finish a painting with a demo. Would like to see the finished painting in full screen at the end though :)
Thank you. I'll try to take a photo to post for you.
