Happy painting!!
First time I have seen a proper description of this chart, thanks!!
Best and easiest to follow Zorn palette mixing tutorial. Learned a lot from watching this, thank you.
Thank you so much! So glad it was helpful!!!
Thank you for this tutorial! You are a great teacher and explained the Zorn palette so well. I didn't know there could be so many color combinations!
Michelle A thank you so much for your kind comments!!! Let me know how it goes if you give it a try!!! All the best!
This is a brilliant video of using Zorn Palette and make whole range of colors. Absolutely love it.
THANK YOU!!!

THANK YOU!!!
Such beautiful colors! thank you for the demonstration.
YOU'RE SO WELCOME!
I get it! I FINALLY get it. Thank you,
Kenny Lo yay! Glad it helped!!!
I love this video. Ive tried 7 different reds , 4 different yellows , and 4 different whites. I honestly think to get his exact colors its : Flake White , Vermillion, Yellow Ochre, Ivory Black. The main thing is the Vermillion. You cannot get the same light beautiful orange pink flesh tone highlights with any other red. Also Titanium white is way to strong and is hard to tone down.
So glad you enjoined it! Love your dedication!!! I’m gonna try the vermilion!! Thank you for the feedback and new info!!!
Thank you Robin. Doing this tomorrow!
Yay!
This is a nice presentation of a limited pallete abilities! Thank you!
Thank you so much!!

That is so wonderful and useful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! thank you very much!
Ana Victoria Ramirez thank you so much!!!
I see all those wonderful "blues". How can I get them?
Tremendous Video!!!
thank you!!!
Thanks for the demonstration. There is a big difference between lead white and Titanium white when mixing colours, don't you find that too? I believe Zorn used lead white.
Hi Sven - I'm sure that's true -- I don't use lead white so I don't know. Have you found that true??
gracias por la clase práctica y la guía de valores. Un saludo
Didnt he use Vermillion?
Great mixing, nice to see the range of the palette
I think he did 2. If you look at almost all of the women he painted especially their ears you can pretty much only get those nice orange red highlights with vermillion. You can come close with cad red but its not the same.
Cad Red Light is close but a bit bright, Vermilion is a little browner, almost an earthy red, Michael Harding still makes Genuine Chinese Vermilion, wildly expensive and very toxic as it contains Mercury, but it's worth it.
Belle présentation très éducative…et merci pour le sous-titré en langue française 👌
Merci!!
This is great, thanks!
The doggo. 😍

Great job
Thank you.
You're so welcome!
Which grey value is your board where you apply the colours?
Great vid! But where can I find those toned panels you were using?
Jason Was Bourne hi Jason! Thanks! Those are just canvas panels that I gessoed with a tinted gesso. White gesso and some black acrylic paint to make a neutral gray. Happy Painting!!!
What kind of animal is that in the back? Some sort of deer or deer like animal? Seemed to be breathing very heavy and short haired.
thank you
You are welcome!!!
V nice
artist Satnam Singh thank you!!!
cool
Beautifull colors and demonstrated in a very calm and organized way. - and it looked so temptating on the Grey background that it invites me to immediately try out the mixture. I was a bit curious why you said you can use cadmium red light “ if you absolutely want” - and what is the difference from using cad red medium in stead of cad red medium
Lis Engel Hi! Cad red medium is a bit more neutral - cad red light starts more towards orange. They both work - just my preference. Thanks for your kind words! I always cringe when I see myself in it - old and chubby! Lol!!! Glad you got something out of it!!!
Robin Wellner thank you for your Quick answer and I do appreciate your sharing your very good practice.
How do one make blue of the Zorn palette?
You really can’t make a “true blue” with ivory black. But it reads almost blue against this palette. I’ve heard that the black they used then read a bit more blue but I don’t know that for sure. Hope that helps!
Do you have a different channel please?
Distracting music. Ah, glad it ended.oh, back again. Goodbye.
