  • Leon here. Hope those of you who find this video in hopes of dealing with dysphoria can use it to go about hip dysphoria in a healthier way than I used to do. I used to starve, binge, throw up, but my hips were still there.
    Technically, they still are, but I've learned to build myself up to reach my goals. And here I was, thinking I could only be happier and deserve that happiness by tearing myself apart.
    I want you all to be safe out there, so don't run around harming yourselves in any way. Find ways to cope. Be creative. Put in the work. You can do it.

    My mom always compliments my hips because she thinks I’m trans because of insecurity. Really it just makes me feel worse because she uses extremely feminine language to describe me. Hopefully I can finally be consistent with working out, motivated by getting more comfortable in my body! I hope to be able to wear tight pants again!

      Your mom is right …. and wrong as well , dysphoria is the reason but to describe to someone something you hate is …. terrible . Instead if you want to help a female be comfortable in her body it’s by helping her NOT have to showcase the parts she DOESNT want to . Female clothes made me uncomfortable but life got better when I started to wear Abbaya , I DONT have to showcase my waist and hips to you for you accept me .

    This is for all my people with hip dysphoria!!!
    I too have hip dysphoria, I’m a masculine lesbian female who would really just prefer to have the body of a boy😭. However I have very wide hips, and small shoulders which makes my hips look even wider. However if u gain more muscle and get more broader/bigger shoulders, it creates an illusion that u aren’t as curvy or ur hips don’t stick out as much :)

    Also a tip for when you want to get into fitness. Look for a gym with a bit more service. Where they will make a fitness scheme for you according to your age, weight, goals etc. And will then explain the exercises and make sure you do them correctly.
    No you don't need a personal trainer. In my gym there will usually be about one or two trainers present any time. You will have an appointment every few weeks when you get a new program and outside of that you can ask them short questions if you for example aren't sure of your form of a certain exercise. It will off course be slightly more expensive than a budget gym but I think it is definitely worth it in making fitness less daunting and complicated and off course in looking out for your health and what's right for you.

    Thanks for this. I'm just starting my transition and came out to my partner recently. I've suffered with a lot of dysphoria and am super excited about the prospect of being healthier and looking better. Btw your body is seriously goals. ❤️❤️❤️ You're so handsome.     instead of getting used to a weight + adding reps, you could choose reps (12/set is good to get used to the right form for a beginner) and choose an appropriate weight so that it gets difficult in the last set/few reps of each set. then you can progress to a higher weight and a low number of reps (6 reps x 6 sets is supposed to be best for muscle building) and get higher weight from there for progressive overload

    As someone who regularly talks with my personal trainer, I’d say that farmers carrys , shrugs, push press, and latpulldown variations are not great for beginners (or really for anyone looking to build steady muscle). Farmers carrys and shrugs work the traps which are already worked in a lot of other movements. Push press would be something better for intermediate lifters, it doesn’t give you as steady of a base as regular seated press does. For beginners, it would be better to keep movements simple so they can learn the form on them first. Basic latpulldown is better too because you can do more weight on these basic movements instead of having to sacrifice weight for form. Deadlifts have a high risk of injury if you don’t get the form right (learned this the hard way) so its better to do dumbell rdls so you can get the form right.

      If tracking calories for you is detrimental, please take a break so it doesn't start to hurt you when it's supposed to be a tool to help❤️ I don't really track them because I'm scared it'll make me relapse to my ED, I just have a general sense of how much I'm eating.
      Unless I'm misreading your comment and you just think it's boring to track but u don't mind - in which case, keep at it and don't overthink it👌💕

      It is really fun! Whenever I'm on a work trip I usually do some calisthenics on the floor at the hotel before going to bed^^

    I’m not an expert on proper form but I have been given advice on it. It seems like this guy isnt lifting weights properly in some clips you show . For example when he’s doing the “sitting rows” he really shouldn’t be leaning frontwards while working out his arms. Instead keeping back straight and not moving anything but his arms to do the full range

      probably with a heavy weight (or on final reps/sets) he has to do it more explosively using other body parts. more isolated movements like staying still u say are probably better for building up that muscle (but I guess is less natural if you want to be good at like. doing stuff. outside of the gym)

      I'm not a PT, so I honestly don't feel very comfortable doing that, since I don't have any experience with just bodyweight workouts.
