VICTORIAN AMBIENCE: Victorian London Thunderstorm (Horses, Bells, Walking on Cobblestone)

- A million thank-yous to the kind and incredibly talented Florent Tunno for giving me permission to use his beautiful artwork for this Victorian ambience! Check out his work here: www.artstation...
I hope you brought your umbrellas, folks! I wanted to do a sort of remake of my last Victorian era street ambience and fix some of the mistakes in that one (like the crickets, which made no sense in that scene, and the rain sound, which could have been richer). I got rid of the fireflies, too, and kept the animations super simple to give that barren, desolate feel. I also added dry, rolling thunder to this ambience, as it was requested a number of times! So strap yourselves into the time machine, because this week we're once again heading back to the Victorian era, to a rainy and abandoned street, in the midst of a thunderstorm.
Some sounds you'll hear in this Victorian London ambience are: Thunderstorm sounds, horses, bells, people talking in the distance, people walking on cobblestone and through puddles, and more.
I hope you enjoy!

Beautiful painting!
OMG this pic is beautiful. I love rainy nightscapes with warm lighting. His other work is amazing too, thx for sharing the link
Same!
I believe that too Scott!
I have always been obsessed with Old London... Dark and Mysterious Gas lit corridors and the sound of Horse Carriages. Very Nice😍
I wish there were more movies that captured the feel of this time. Aesthetically, I find it such a beautiful and haunting era!
Gaslights make a pretty sound. Actually, all lights make a pretty sound. They squeal
Yes I have #synesthesia. I hear colors and patterns and shapes.
@Armored Titan If only I could add scents to videos . . .
@Armored Titan Yuk...
@@AutumnCozy *pleasant* scents, not icky scents.
This was automatically therapeutic. So many small details if you listen closely. The visual aesthetic is perfect. Time to cuddle up with a good book!

This sky and the blue reflections are beautifully made ! I think this is your most realistic ambience so far. I'm almost there... Well done ! ^^
Ah, yay-I'm happy this immersed you, Moonlight! 🧡🤗 It's fun to step back in time every now and then!
I was born in England the misty area narrow cobblestone streets horses hooves clipping along people talking so clear of rain and thunder sky changing from light to dark its London without rain and fog it's not the same just perfect thank u we need beautiful videos like this in a world of turmoil so we can forget❤
I love old London! The dark and misty alleyways and mysterious buildings all around! Carriages on cobblestone and just the aura it has! Like there’s a mystery about to happen at every corner! It just seemed easier to make your way in the world then, if you were well connected that is. All you needed was a few good connections and maybe a college degree or some important job.
And sometimes it feels that there are some werewolves howling on statues of gargoyles makes it much good
Agreed. Being an aristocrat would definitely help too!
This is still my favorite ambiance of all time. I can't even begin to tell you how often I come back here. Sleep, inspo, coping with mental illness, it covers it all. And the visual is just divine ❣️
Seeing comments in all languages from all walks of life really puts into perspective how such simple things can bring us together. Music is one of the things that humans have used for thousands of years to
POV: You are in The Victorian Era In London, England.
As you walk down the dimly lit street the smell of rain fills your nostrils as you feel the light chill from the cold wind gently blowing against your face,
The gentle murmurs of thunder spread quickly across the sky as you walk down the street you cover your head with your coat in order to shield yourself from the gentle droplets of rain falling from the sky. You slowly start to see the sign of your favorite pub gently swaying in the wind, As you enter you hear the loud booms of laughter and the soft melodies of a song playing in the background And the conversations around you. As you begin to take off your coat you prepare for a night of drinking and dancing All is good and Well.
The end..
Hehehe shifting visuals
I wish you could save comments

I decided to not go in the pub, but lean against the wall under shelter, wrapping myself up in my jacket and embracing the heavens as they poured down drops of solitude upon my face.

This is horribly written.
Did anyone see the rat in the beginning of the video...lol
Haha! I think a lot of people missed him scuttling by!

This is absolutely stunning! I would love to take a time machine back to Victorian London for a few days! Something about this era captivates me so!
It truly is a captivating era! People always point out how awful it was back then, and I know that, but to just _visit_ for a day or two would be so lovely! ☔️
Depending on how you acted, you could end up portrayed in a Dickens novel.
Same 💜
Me too. I think it's because in a way it parallels a lot of what's going on today.
Oh to be able to time travel. I went on a jack the ripper tour by foot some years ago and finished in the 10 bells hotel on a rainy night. My imagination was running riot. Best holiday ever, I adore Victorian history. Many thanks from Australia.
I can imagine sitting in a cozy room looking out on this scene-the flickering lightening, the glowing lights, the horse and carriage sounds are all very engaging! 💜💜💜
I'm so happy you like it! It'd be _really_ cozy being tucked away inside as a thunderstorm rages on for sure! ☔️
Autumn Cozy That’s the wonderful part of these ambience videos-you can imagine yourself right in the middle of everything or just quietly, cozily observing.

SO IM NOT THE ONLY ONE WHOSE HERE BECAUSE OF THE GAME-
I had never seen a fouler night. The musky cocktail of damp mould lingered in the air like a phantom. Worse still, I was called on this night to investigate yet another grisly murder carried out by the infamous "Ripper," whose deeds would please even Lucifer, himself.
This was good. This was _really_ good! You captured the mood perfectly!
👏👏👏
Nah, beautiful night.
@@anthonypalermo8816 depending on the context, sure.
Somebody else might be headed to the pub to lift one with their mates after a hard day's work.
As one comment I read elsewhere mentioned, Victorian London must have been a really spooky place at night. Jack the Ripper, mist, countless ghosts and hellhounds, faint and flickering streetlamps, Spring-Heeled Jack.
And to think the horrors of WW1 and WW2 are still yet to come...
Ah yes, a fellow from Bangladesh I see
😔✋🏻
@@zaok970 count me in
WW1 was just 13 years after the Victorian era ended.
Strange that in 1879 London people were freezing to death in shop doorways and alley ways in winter, whilst in Zululand our redcoats were fighting and dying at Rorke's Drift area in temperatures of 40 degrees in the shade (and there was no shade).
An era of stoicism, bravery and great suffering but hauntingly romantic when portrayed in this graphic.
i just cant explain enough how familiar this looks and sounds to me... its like a long forgotten memory, where i cover my head with my hat as i run to the local dim lit pub and hang my coat as i am embraced with the warmth and roaring laughter of the people chatting there. feels so familiar in ways i cannot explain!

This makes think of narrow alleys, with dark nooks and crannies where Jack the Ripper could jump out at any moment! I love true crime, so I mean that in a good way!
I love true crime too! I totally got Jack the Ripper vibes right when I saw the artwork for this! 🎩🇬🇧🕵🏻♀️
I don't like true crime (I like chick lit), but I agree with you that *narrow winding streets and lanes are very pretty.*

We're so lucky to have everything we have now! I, for one, quite enjoy having rights and such, ha!
It’d be great to have this playing in the background while you read a book set in Victorian London
That's what I'm doing :)
I know that life in the Victorian Era must have been quite tragic and poor, but at the same time, so many wonderful developments in culture, music, and science were taking place... Satie and Debussy were composing mysterious, melancholic pieces for the piano; Mary Anning was finding fossils that revolutionised our understanding of the Earth; Victor Hugo was contributing remarkable works of literature that questioned so poetically the injustices of society.
Thank you for this beautiful Victorian ambience, Autumn Cozy :) It really takes you down beautiful paths and trains of thought.

Beautiful London. I imagine myself walking around while it's raining like this. When a pretty girl appears, I look at her, disturbing, and my heart beats 1000 times an hour.
