  • A huge thank-you to to the super talented Michael Andrews for giving me permission to use his beautiful artwork for this Victorian ambience. Everyone go have a look at his ArtStation here: www.artstation.com/michaeland...
Welcome to this week's cozy ambience, which is set in the Victorian era (so June 20, 1837 - January 22, 1901). In it you'll hear calming rain sounds, horses clopping by, people walking in gravel, crows cawing, and some relaxing nighttime sounds. I loved making this ambience because I love history (particularly the Victorian era, the Edwardian era and the 20s!), and so it was nice to imagine what it might've sounded like back then. There was more I wanted to add, but I was short on time this week. I'll do more videos set in the Victorian era eventually!
Hope you enjoy this cozy ambience, and I'll see you next week for another!

Hi Autumn Cozy! This is defintally much more an autumn video which I've really needed... it's not even July and yet I'm craving those cool, breezy and rainy days of autumn. Thanks so much for this new ambience, those mansions look both amazing and mysterious. The fog rising and the bugs swarming around the lamp posts make it much more alive as well... the clopping of the hooves on the streets take me to the time of the carriage when horses ran the streets instead of cars... peaceful times, better times. Thanks so much, this ambience for sure is truly amazing! :] :]

Come along now, Holmes. We have a garishly early appointment tomorrow. Must I meet with him, Dr. Watson? Now now, Sherlock. We had this issue the previous week. Sherlock you are my sidekick and a renowned crime solving aficionado, and I intended to keep this little charade for as long as possible. Do try to breathe. My dear fellow as long as you remember my words you'll be fine. And for goodness' sake Sherlock, don't say anything about the case to anyone including Mrs. Marsden. You've landed us in hot water without a moment's thought last time we met Mr. Principle.
I'm sorry Doctor. Why that's perfectly fine Sherlock, so long as you do not get carried away again. I need you looking the part and please do stay sharp. Moriarty will certainly be distracted, I shall gain access to his offices there was something about that painting. What painting, Doctor? I need to be one step ahead of Moriarty, he is getting too close to working out you are not really a good crime solver as I've been making you out to be. But you are Dr. Watson! Time is getting along now Sherlock, I do require my scotch. Let's grab a carriage at once, no time to lose.
You need your beauty sleep Mr. Holmes. And please do not mention adrenochrome, not even to Scotland-Yard. Alright Dr. Watson, what's adrenochrome again? Our carriage is here, climb aboard we've no time to waste Mr. Holmes. I'm beginnin' to like this world you've created, Dr. Watson. I've never been as proud in all me life, as now Doctor.

This is the very first video of this type I ever found, just a couple of weeks ago! Since then, it seems there's tons of them popping out all over the place even though I've been wishing to find something like this for AGES, but didn't know how to look for it!
I had to build a whole new category to store them in, but this is my real favorite! I've got like over 100 of them so far, including the black screen sound only vids for us to fall asleep to at night! My husband can't go to sleep (he sez) if the TV is left on. He can, and does frequently, but just doesn't always stay that way! So, I put the tv on the timer for two hours, and we're off! Thanks for doing these!

Carriage wheels on cobbles are so loud that straw was put down in front of houses when inhabitants were sick or lay dying. Shops were open late at night too.

Go to Mackinaw Island in Michigan if you like this. Outside at night in what amounts to "downtown" and all you'll hear is horses walking around. No cars or engine sounds. Boat horns out on the lake. What it might have been like in the 1800s. You have to be there to realize that no matter where you are in America, even in the deepest rural areas you will always hear engine sounds because that sound will carry for more than 5 miles. Mackinaw offers a chance to find what no modern sounds is like, since the island is miles out in Lake Huron from shore!

Wow, this is epic ! Again, I love how you made the tones warmer, and the whole ambience is very inspiring. Is Sherlock Holmes at the corner of the fountain ?

The smell of industrial fumes, rotting lake water flowing through the streets ditch... Soiled cloth, dirt and rubbish filling the air, is something I would be quite happy to have in company with this utterly loveable scene including its ambience!
