Imagine being a paperboy getting up at 5 in the morning when it's still dark, walking down the street to the newspaper company, passing closed and dark shop windows to get your stack of papers, then walking around the city, up cobblestone steps and across stone bridges delivering them as the sun slowly rises and lights up the city and gradually, bit by bit the sound of voices greeting each other, hoof-steps across the paved streets and the bustle of shop-owners setting up fills the air. You deliver your last paper, then head to the coffee shop where you get your usual coffee and a toasted bagel with cream cheese from Mr. Butters, watching the street, now full of carriages and people.

Makes me want to go back to that time just to hear the quiet. 🤫 I imagine it was pretty quiet at night with the occasional horse carriage and maybe even people carrying on conversation. Definitely not car horns nor airplanes flying over.
It was really really loud actually. People complained about noise constantly. Street vendors were ever present, as were all kind of street acts (with or without animals/Musical instruments). Carriage wheels on cobbles are so loud that straw was put down in front of houses when inhabitants were sick or lay dying. Shops were open late at night too. Go to Mackinaw Island in Michigan if you like this. Outside at night in what amounts to "downtown" and all you'll hear is horses walking around. No cars or engine sounds. Boat horns out on the lake. What it might have been like in the 1800s. You have to be there to realize that no matter where you are in America, even in the deepest rural areas you will always hear engine sounds because that sound will carry for more than 5 miles. Mackinaw offers a chance to find what no modern sounds is like, since the island is miles out in Lake Huron from shore!
I’m seriously adding this to my playlist. This really did put me to sleep and I had my fan humming in the background keeping me cool. I’m such a night owl and have a hard time sleeping at night so this was super helpful.
“Oh, the terrible struggle that I have had against sleep so often of late; the pain of the sleeplessness, or the pain of the fear of sleep, and with such unknown horror as it has for me! How blessed are some people, whose lives have no fears, no dreads; to whom sleep is a blessing that comes nightly, and brings nothing but sweet dreams.”
The Victorian era is so interesting to me. I love learning about life back then but being able to experience it is a completely different feel. I love everything about this! Keep doing what you're doing! Absolutely brilliant!

This is the very first video of this type I ever found, just a couple of weeks ago! Since then, it seems there's tons of them popping out all over the place even though I've been wishing to find something like this for AGES, but didn't know how to look for it! I had to build a whole new category to store them in, but this is my real favorite! I've got like over 100 of them so far, including the black screen sound only vids for us to fall asleep to at night! My husband can't go to sleep (he sez) if the TV is left on. He can, and does frequently, but just doesn't always stay that way! So, I put the tv on the timer for two hours, and we're off! Thanks for doing these!
This totally my vibe: rainy night with the lights. This is perfect for my studies. Thank You sooo much for this and plz never stop posting these!! Your videos are a so relaxing and a life saver. I listen to them even if I’m not studying 💕
"Professor Van Helsing?" "Yes?" "Are you as good as they say?" Van Helsing couldn't help but smile; he was older now, SO MUCH older, but he certainly wasn't dead! "Let's just say the mind is a lot sharper than it used to be sonny. I can't move as quick, but by God, I can think faster!" The young man smiled; having the Professor along might not be a bad thing after all...as HE saw it, it would be their WITS, not their stamina, that would see this through.
Oh from yesterday’s sneak peek you gave us I guessed right! I love this Intricately detailed Victorian ambience... so very Dickensian. Love the fire flies dancing around the street light, the hazy London fog, squawking crows far and near, distant clock tower chimes and the click clack of horses feet upon the cobble stones! Absolutely Superb in every way! Congratulations Autumn Cozy! You’re a Master Ambience Creator 👏🏻👏🏻🥰🥰♥️♥️

Thank you for creating and sharing this. It is very beautiful and soothing. 2020 has been a challenge for all of us. I know, for some it's been more challenging than others. But I hope, whoever is reading this, things are changing for the better for you and your loved ones. These circumstances aren't permanent, they are temporary. The moment I switched this on a my large HD Tv...I feel in love ♡. The Foggy Gothic ambience, the brilliant lamp posts and background sounds...I could go on and on. I've said it before , I say it again. Cozy You are truely AMAZINGLY TALENTED.... I never know what you'll come up with next. But I like it like that.
The smell of industrial fumes, rotting lake water flowing through the streets ditch... Soiled cloth, dirt and rubbish filling the air, is something I would be quite happy to have in company with this utterly loveable scene including its ambience!
I chose this ambiance to read Frankenstein to. Let me tell you, that was the best reading experience ever! I got sucked into the terrifying experiences of Dr. Frankenstein with this playing in the background late at night when I should have been sleeping. It became so real to me, that when the flock of crows started cawing, I jumped. Consider this ambience if reading anything with a setting in England. Highly recommend!
This is exactly how I imagine jem, will and tessa's london. the dark avenues and horses and carriages everywhere, the feeling of a cold city where every corner has eyes and many stories to tell
I feel video games are the best way to relive past settings and or periods in time. Especially if they are well done. So any time a “period piece” game comes out I am excited. I just love video games so much. And film of course

The Victorian Era is one of my favorite Eras.
*suddenly feels really connected to my past lives I didn’t even know I had*
Yeah this probably isn't how anything would have sounded though
I’m seriously adding this to my playlist. This really did put me to sleep and I had my fan humming in the background keeping me cool.
I’m such a night owl and have a hard time sleeping at night so this was super helpful.
It feels like my window is by the street and the rain mixed with the crickets and the horses trotting is a nice touch.
I'm sitting up at four in the morning braiding my hair and listening to this cause I can't sleep
@@morganjacobs710 I listened to this while I put my hair up in rag curls at 3am so mood lmao.
Amazing.
I just imagine walking in the rain with musket strap to my back and just looking around.
The horses were great, but you missed the sound of carriage wheels along with it!
Paranormal News Today The carriage was there, maybe u missed it.
Just enjoy the ambience, really you got to criticize an ambience ?
@@petermcconnell7485 come on, take it as constructive criticism, they wasnt being disrepectfuol
the smoke from the chimneys isnt moving either .

I feel like Jack the Ripper is going to come around the corner at any mintue 😂
Same for me too lol
Yep! But I love this anyways. It is one of my top 3!
Noooooooooo!
What!? In this weather!?
Ha ha ha me too
The Michael Andrews art here is an absolute day-changer, and your great part here is just as wonderful! Thank you again for your important work.
I can almost hear them shouting "BEAST! OH FOUL BEAST!" and "AWAY AWAY!"
"Is that you stranger?"
“Cursed beast....”
I cannot start the game. There is no "press start button" appear.
“You are not wanted here!”
@@alloycipher4528 "You there hunter! Didn't you see the warning?"
love the crows. those and ravens are my favorite birds
Same here wish I had Pet crow.
Ah yes. I remember strolling about the city bundled for warmth. A golden age I truly do miss. Tis a shame I should live so long.
@The serpent must die lol
What is this from? Who wrote this?
@@tossmeacarrot Dracula chapter 11, Lucy Westerna's diary.
The Victorian era is so interesting to me. I love learning about life back then but being able to experience it is a completely different feel. I love everything about this! Keep doing what you're doing! Absolutely brilliant!
Do you scrap book or do Junk journaling kimberley ?
If you don't check it out , ts amazing . U should totally do a Victorian themed one.
Loads of junk journal /scrap book tutorials on UA-cam.
I love it.
100 years from now they will play the soothing sounds of a kid blowing up the local McDonald’s bathroom bc he ate 3 happy meals
I look forward to it
Very intellectual
cant waittttt 🥰🥰🤤🤤🥺

More modern we keep getting, more love about virtual ancient times keep increasing!
So true!
Thank you for 1 million views on this ambience, everyone! This was my first ever video to hit a million. To everyone who shared this on their social media or left a like or comment-thank you so much! I hope to make more similar to this in the future, so subscribe and stay tuned! 💙

Recently I have been very sick and I use this to call myself down so that I can sleep. Thank you so much
If you listen carefully, you can hear Jack the Ripper, carving up another victim .
Dun, dun dun! 😱😱😱
This comment is why I shouldn’t have been allowed to watch black butler all I think when I hear Jack the Ripper is just Grell sutclif 😂
Thanks for the nightmare
oH GOd
what a lovely thought to fall asleep to! ☺️
Omg went straight to my favorites
YAY! I love to hear it!
Same!
horses, rain ...
Yep, only needed 10 seconds to know this is a keeper! 😄
"We are born of the blood, made men by the blood, undone by the blood."
FEAR THE OLD BLOOD
Welcome home, good hunter.
What is it you desire?
Farewell good hunter. May you find your worth, in the waking world
"By the Gods, fear it, Laurence."
Gherman is waiting for you.
I could literally look at this scene for hours.
I have no idea why, exactly.
Thank you for this.

This totally my vibe: rainy night with the lights. This is perfect for my studies. Thank You sooo much for this and plz never stop posting these!! Your videos are a so relaxing and a life saver. I listen to them even if I’m not studying 💕
Found myself looking at the building and trying to pick a room I'd like to be in.. Spoilt for choice
I want the right side attic. Imagine it has an overview of one part of the city
@@chew7656 you've picked well . I like the cozy look of the second floor corner
@@petea2485 Thanks! That's a good choice as well. Anyway hello neighbor :)
@@chew7656 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Hello!
I love the sound of horses’ hooves. This video has great detail visually and auditory
"Professor Van Helsing?"
"Yes?"
"Are you as good as they say?"
Van Helsing couldn't help but smile; he was older now, SO MUCH older, but he certainly wasn't dead!
"Let's just say the mind is a lot sharper than it used to be sonny. I can't move as quick, but by God, I can think faster!"
The young man smiled; having the Professor along might not be a bad thing after all...as HE saw it, it would be their WITS, not their stamina, that would see this through.
Thank you for this!
@@AutumnCozy THANKYOU for liking it!!!
I saw your reply to that post and had to hold off responding so I didn't spoil it, haha! You absolutely guessed it, right down to the exact era. Good eye! And I'm sooo happy you like it; thank you for the sweet comment! 🥰♥️
My favorite part too!
It is SO helpfull when you have a big family and no quiet place to study. I'm rewriting my notes from university to the right notebooks and I had no trouble focusing at all. I'm gonna use it more often, because it's just amazing
That's wonderful to hear! Wishing you so much luck with your university courses! :)
@@AutumnCozy Thank you, that's very nice. Have a lovely day 😊
Thank you for creating and sharing this. It is very beautiful and soothing. 2020 has been a challenge for all of us. I know, for some it's been more challenging than others. But I hope, whoever is reading this, things are changing for the better for you and your loved ones. These circumstances aren't permanent, they are temporary. Keep pushing forward, you will see the light soon. Always remind yourself in times of adversity that 'This too shall pass'. Try to stay positive and take care of yourself first, in order to take care of your loved ones. A big virtual hug to you.
I love this .. I get a weird nostalgia.
I don’t care how far we are around the world. This is a cafe. And we’re all having our coffees together.

I thought Edward turned into a vampire in 1918?
@@lizh1633 He did but Carlisle was around then so it could have been him
I snorted. Thank you for this lmao
This is awesome! We would like to see more videos inspired by the Victorian era (Ballroom, library, Hyde Park, etc)
I always loved the sound of train whistles in the distance ☺
Same here! Haunting but calming! 🚂
"Elementary, dear Watson!"
@sugar x sweet Sherlock Holmes and Batman, Epic Rap Battles
"someone tell that man to stop honking his horse, i'm tryna sleep over here!"
😂
The hunt is nearly hear and beasts roam the streets~
The Bloodborne feels I get from this ambient music is unreal!
Fear the Old Blood
The moment I switched this on a my large HD Tv...I feel in love ♡.
The Foggy Gothic ambience, the brilliant lamp posts and background sounds...I could go on and on.
I've said it before , I say it again.
Cozy You are truely AMAZINGLY TALENTED.... I never know what you'll come up with next.
But I like it like that.
The smell of industrial fumes, rotting lake water flowing through the streets ditch... Soiled cloth, dirt and rubbish filling the air, is something I would be quite happy to have in company with this utterly loveable scene including its ambience!
"Shall we gather for some whiskey and cigars tonight?"
I was looking for this comment 😂
sauce?
amelia we r referencing the game Dishonored 😂
Your paying, right? 🤭🤭🤭
"Indeed, I beleive so"
Listening to this while reading the Black Butler manga really sets the mood. Thank you for the awesome video!!
I love this. I usually listen to it when I’m reading or crocheting. There’s no distractions to keep me messing up on my stitch counts as with TV.
I always listen to ambience videos when I read too!
So glad you're enjoying this one. Have a great week ahead!
Thank you for going back in time to get these recordings! I can't think of a better use for time travel.
Hey, anytime. Don't mention it. 😂
this is great to listen to while reading detective books or even thrillers. gives the good type of chills
Sounds spooky! I'm happy this served as good background noise for your Frankenstein read! :D
I always wondered what the Victorian era sounded like.
Cheers gov'nor!
(Creepy bums step out of a dark alley)
"Goin' somewhere mister?"
Me: "Oh great, ya know what, that time machine was a terrible idea."
Me: pulls pistol and cocks it, "Yup, visit some bum lying in the morgue."
Playing Assassin's Creed Syndicate while listening to this....
Trust me it feels strangely amazing...
Awesome
"A hunter is a hunter, even in a dream."
This is exactly how I imagine jem, will and tessa's london. the dark avenues and horses and carriages everywhere, the feeling of a cold city where every corner has eyes and many stories to tell
Excellent detail! Sound quality makes me feel that I am there.
So glad the sounds brought you into the scene! Happy you like it, Dan. Have a wonderful Sunday!
Oooo I'm staring to feel the spooky (and relaxing) halloween vibes with this one! A beautiful looking and sounding scene!
😂Haha, too soon? It's hard to resist! :P And thank you, m'friend! I'm happy you like it! 🎃
@@AutumnCozy 😂no no never too soon! I love the darker fall type of scenes
Yes!! Let's just skip summer and go straight to autumn PLEASE 👏👏👏 (there's a heat wave here this week and I'm not a fan lol)
I love the (perceived) romance of this time period. Can't help it, I'm a born romantic. 😍
Ahhh...I remember the days when I used to time travel. This brought back some great memories.
Really beautiful! Makes me want a hot cup of tea.

@@keepcalmrainy793 I’m adding a scone or a blueberry streusel muffin with that cup of coffee.
This is one of my favorite set ups for a videogame. Dishonored, Bloodborn, etc. Really like the style in these
Happy you like it! 😊
I feel video games are the best way to relive past settings and or periods in time. Especially if they are well done. So any time a “period piece” game comes out I am excited. I just love video games so much. And film of course
I think i just saw Picard, Riker & Data dressed in period clothing trying to blend in with their surroundings.
Elementary, dear Data.
This makes excellent background for solo...pursuits...activities....and..erm...whatever you can imagine those may possibly be.
P.S. I put one of my other ambience videos in one of the windows of the house but it's hardly perceptible, ha! You can kind of see a fire flickering though. :P
Is it Cupid's lair or cozy living room ? ^^
@@amelyalahna4849 Now I wish I would have made it Cupid's Lair, ha! I forgot all about that one! It's actually a Christmas one, the one called "Christmas Fireplace Room Ambience" :P
