Yes, Man of Steel was a great movie for what it was. But Lois not knowing Clark is Superman is the more interesting part. So I hope James Gunn goes back to that in the upcoming DCU. I'm sure he will.

I saw the gentleman who plays the sheriff/patrol officer on Twister movie, in my Emergency Department last week when I was admitting his mother. He had only great things to say about David Corenswet. He showed me pictures of them on set. Very nice guy.

It might be that Metamorpho's origin is the catalyst for a lot of the action in the film. Rex is just recently mutated and doesn't have control of his powers, and is briefly driven mad by them going on a rampage in the city forcing Superman to act. Maxwell Lord probably sending his team as well and the heroes got to Stagg to investigate the incident. Reports of Stagg's actions help spark a worry of corporations creating their own super-beings being what forces the government to crackdown on all metahumans not under their control, including Superman. Thus Flag Sr., Engineer, and 'Ultraman' (whom I really don't think is a Superman clone but as I stated in the last video might be Apollo). All of these events possibly being orchestrated by Lex Luthor.
If someone ever says to my face “There’s too many heroes in this, this isn’t even a Superman movie anymore” I’m gonna respond with “Ah, I see you’ve never heard of Captain America: Civil War then”

Based on everything we've heard so far, I'm thinking metahumans or superheros have been around for decades or more. Maybe they get started in the 1940s or 50s. During the Golden age of comics. I would love to see some references to characters specific to that time period.
In the SnyderVerse, Batman had been fighting crime for 20 years! So there was another hero out there. And Flash was doing the same for a bit too during the MOS fight in Metropolis.
I hope DC goes the MCU road and develops their characters before introducing them as "heroes". Give them some origin stories, let the audience care about them, and then throw them into a team-up. DCEU could've been great if they didn't rush the team-ups and developed each character. Casting Ezra and Gal wasn't the best idea either.
Will give judgement once movie is out - but if it goes back to comedy I will not see it - and as long as Gunn leaves out all his one liners if it is a action drama I will be happy

I’ve seen a comment on UA-cam from someone who was apparently a Lex Luther extra on set, apparently they saw Metamorpho in “full costume” and when I asked if it was a practical costume they said that it was but it looked like it needed to be touched up with CGI. If that’s true that’s got me excited.
I actually found it refreshing that Lois learned that Clark is Superman in Man of Steel. It seems like nearly all other incarnations of the character and even other superheroes spend so much time hiding their identity from the one they love. It starts to get old fast. Smallville went 10 freaking seasons of Clark hiding his powers from Lana and then Lois. Christopher Reeve Superman reveals himself in the sequel but not by conscious choice. Then, when it's too much stress for her, he gives her the super kiss of forgetfulness. I love all these heroes, but Man of Steel was refreshing from all the nonsensical drama that we see all the time. Truly. -OG

The thing is that it depends of the portrayal of Clark. As the video says Superman used to be more the real person and Clark a disguise, but modern takes make Clark the real person and Superman is his “work name”, both actually being a part of him. Way too many characters and as the BTS stuff shows they mostly have substantial roles. Superman squeezed out a bit in his own film. They aren't doing this to Supergirl or Batman -WB is using Superman yet again as a plot point. We know now this is to set up JLI, Authority and Supergirl and it looks like Supes will be one and done. Feel sorry for Corenswet. He may end up getting the Cavill treatment. If fans come to feel that they will sit the film out and it will significantly underperform.

If Corenswet is so good why are the reports saying Superman will not be a big factor in the DCU. No rumors of another Superman appearance. If he does appear it won't be until Chapter 2 as the film slots are all more or less determined for the rest of Chapter 1, With 6 open slots and a dozen projects vying for them but Superman is not one of them.

I would wish to see more of the Superman comic characters… more Daily planet characters (it seems this is becoming true) and other Metropolis characters like Dr Hamilton, Maggie, Turpin and Bibbo.

@Mirakulus9 That's a lot of supporting characters. The Expendables have a lot of supporting characters to Stallone and Statham, too. But they were wise enough to call it The Expendables because there are so many of them. Cap America: Civil War couldn't have the subtitle Civil War if there weren't enough characters. Otherwise, you may as well call it another Avengers movie.
This Superman movie may be about Superman, like Civil War to Cap America, but this isn't a genuine solo Superman film. And this is the first film. Winter Soldier and Civil War are not the first films. I think Gunn is hoping if folks don't like his Superman that there's enough heroes that they'd still like the film cuz they like Mr. Terrific or Supergirl, etc. -OG

Way too many characters and as the BTS stuff shows they mostly have substantial roles. Superman squeezed out a bit in his own film. They aren't doing this to Supergirl or Batman -WB is using Superman yet again as a plot point. We know now this is to set up JLI, Authority and Supergirl and it looks like Supes will be one and done. Feel sorry for Corenswet. He may end up getting the Cavill treatment. If fans come to feel that they will sit the film out and it will significantly underperform.

Gunns suit looks like NERF football material...bulky with no muscle definition. Superman's suit is a SKIN SUIT..boots look big &bulky also. Mr. Terrific looks like a blaxploitation movie reject. The Green lantern & Hawk girl costumes aren't better than the ones on CW. This movie will be goofy/slapstick with Otis & Lex as comic reliefs. Gunns Adam Warlock showed me all I need to see about Gunns costume work...which isn't work.

If Corenswet is so good why are the reports saying Superman will not be a big factor in the DCU. No rumors of another Superman appearance. If he does appear it won't be until Chapter 2 as the film slots are all more or less determined for the rest of Chapter 1, With 6 open slots and a dozen projects vying for them but Superman is not one of them.

@@OurMovieNews All over the place earlier this year. Gunn kept getting asked about it on Threads. Plus, rumor of an All Star ending to Superman where he goes MIA indefinitely. Allowing Gunn to focus on B/C characters and then bring Superman back in a JL film in Chapter 2.
Maybe they want to keep it as a surprise. They probably are gonna have him in every movie and even the Peacemaker show.
Probably WB made sure not to have another Cavill situation and made him sign an obligation to appear in as many stuff as they want… otherwise they would have gone through with Cavill returning.
@@manart6506 Well, apparently, he won't be in S: WOT so I doubt he'll be in many of the rest of Chapter 1 films/projects. There are tons of film rumors including S:WOT setting up a Supergirl sequel but no rumors about more Superman. Seems odd.

SMH....just wished they took a timeout from doing this. And wished they found better to do this on top of that. I've nvr been really a Gunn fan and that goes for past movies. I just don't see the excitement to this for me anyways. To each its own though. Not gonna knock anyone that does like this movie.
