Lets be honest, this guy gets attention he deserved for long time, the time he spent improving his skills really pays off after davie's movie.
He deserves the love tho. It's sad that it took someone else's success to bring him to the light. Bass is sort of an obscure instrument to find fame with, but he definitely has the talent that is deserving of the recognition. Hell, I don't even play bass but I appreciate both Davey and Charles' skills. Love to see this much dedication.

It's actually insane how much Charles has levelled up in every aspect (playing, composition, production, tone, video editing, on screen charisma, etc.) since posting this video.
When this video first came out I was mindblown, but now Charles releases stuff that blows this out of the water every single week.

I haven't missed a single video since I learned about you that 3+ years ago and I ain't planning to miss any either. It's the best music content on UA-cam for sure. I am happy that I've been able to see your channel grow from a couple of thousands of subscribers to soon 1.4 million! Well deserved!.
More than a year later, I keep coming back to this video. The first video I saw on this channel. Just love the starting, and the way all the different bits are all tied in together.
It was used in a commercial for a car... I was listening to his music while I was stuck in hospital and I could hear it playing, and I thought that's weird I thought I turned it off, then I realised it was coming from the TV in an advertisement for a vehicle

Technical skill is only one part of music.....but it's a part that I love. I just have the utmost appreciation for those with MASSIVE technical skill. Which aside from the comedy is why I really liked Davie's channel. It wasn't just "a bass channel". Davie is a REALLY good bassist. But Charles.....you are on a different planet. You deserve every accolade here. I'm a pretty good bassist, but I'm not in either of your zip codes....I also appreciate the humbleness of both of you. There's the schtick ego but underneath both of you just stand on your massive talents and the JOY you apply to your art is so awesome. It just makes it so fun to watch. Huge props to you dude.

What is much more accurate would be say comparing two different basketball players at the same sport. Does Lebron James not have a drastically different style of play when compared to say Shaquille o'neal? Of course even then I would agree that its almost impossible to compare the two as their play styles and what they do well is just so different. But having said that, at the end of the day, I would still say I think Lebron is the much better player. Both are great in their own right but to me personally not even close. Same with these two bassists. You call it idiotic, I call it having an opinion.
@@joeya5147 i 100% agree with you. charles is way more refined, and i'm going to guess it's because he's branched out in different genres as well. it seems to be easy to stay stagnant as a bass player in terms of progression of style, especially if you limit yourself to one style or perspective.
