My friend really needs all our help. I am so thankful at the outpouring of support for him. I totally appreciate everyone here. It really means a lot.
You sir are “brilliant”thank you
love your video's and your personality. there is a lot of good things to emulate. this world is tough but, your a bright shining light. keep guiding the way friend!
Best teacher on UA-cam. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again.
Same
Yes
Agreed. Such great analogies and explanations in simple, understandable examples.
Seriously. Amazing stuff.
Say it again.
I love this guy. His approach to teaching and his humanity is real.
Imagine a robot is teaching this 😳.. no thanks
What people often call 'genius' is exactly this ... taking something so simple and making it so cool. Thanks, Stich, for another great and inspiring leeson!
I say this in pure earnest, you might just be one of the greatest guitar teachers I've ever come across. Your teaching style is insanely intuitive, your attitude is infectious, and your production quality is ace. I hope you continue to grow and grow!
Except for the beard, that's fully grown!😅
Over the years I’ve watched guitar instructors on UA-cam but none have taken it to that level of easy understanding as you. Hands down you are the best “teacher” on UA-cam. Your the only one I watch now. Thank you very much.
You, Sir, are a GENIUS! What is so wonderful about this song, is that it offers TIME….time to explore between versus…. Explore between WORDS actually. This song and the bpm are an ad-lib guitarist DREAM. When you have such a beautiful melody, chord structure-SIMPLE CHORD STRUCTURE, it allows us guitar players ample time to create beautiful leads, fillers, etc! But Y-O-U my friend are a MASTER of conveying the information. The information that we ALL have in our heads and transferring what is in our head to OUR hand, ultimately, to the fretboard! Thank you-Thank you-Thank you!!
After years of listening to the dead and having a deep appreciation for Jerry’s improv, it was my brother who pointed out that Garcia is an absolute master of this technique as a one key foundation to his soloing!!!
Same thought, instantly. ✌🏻🌹💀
I watch a ton of UA-cam guitar classes from some very excellent instructors but, my man, you are the best! You not only explain what you are doing better than anyone else, you also cover areas of playing that no one else does. You have a gift, thanks for sharing it with us all.
Even by Stich standards, this is an astoundingly good lesson. The only rational explanation for this is that Stich has made a deal with the devil at a crossroads at midnight.
Best explanation of melodic solo technique I’ve ever heard. Great job.
If I can add also, sometimes leaving space (not playing) is just as important as playing.
Just like in life we have positive and negative space (my guitar is positive and the space around it is negative) music only exist as sounds and space between the sounds.
Mr Stitch, great video lesson!!! A great example of this is a video now on UA-cam of Bob Dylan’s 30th Anniversary concert, at the very end every guest is on stage playing Knocking on Heaven’s Door with Eric Clapton in the background playing exactly what you’re talking about… it’s fantastic!!! The video isn’t the best but still must watch/listen for all that are interested in your lesson!
Thank you so much for this video Stitch. As I want to write solo's for my own songs I've watched many tutorials about melody writing but yours is the first one to give me a lightbulb moment. Thanks again.
I've been watching youtube guitar lesson videos for YEARS. This is hands down one of the best lessons I've ever seen!!!!! BRAVO! Stitch!!! I'm subscribed for life!
You've helped me with so much! No one else on UA-cam comes close to your style of teaching and simplifying the hard stuff. Hands down the best free guitar lessons
It’s all about good stuff, man. I always learn something from you. Thanks!
perfect lesson, you answer what i was looking for during a long time. Many thanks
Bringing in some TRIAD chord tones can really bring this up to another level, especially if you substitute it for the root note at the end of a phrase!
I'm stich, stich, stichin' up all my chor-a-ords! hey, hey hey hey! :) I'm hopin' back, on the melody track!
As an intermediate harmonica player, I so greatly value your videos that focus on phrasing. Thank you.
As a train conductor I enjoy the analogy to trains. 😁
Great explanation. Your presentation is well paced and builds nicely. Explaining the improvisational concepts in layers - starting with the fundamentals. Your demeanour is so calm and pleasing. Thank you.
man...the way you broke this down is gold. Much appreciated!
You popped up on my UA-cam feed yesterday and I've been watching and just having aha moment after aha moment. Thank you so much!
You are so smoooth Stich. A real joy to follow. Saving this one in my tool box 😊😊😊
What a great lesson. Thank you for posting this 👍🏻
This was excellent. I have new things to try. Thank you man.
I watch a few different guitar lesson channels, and every now and then, I come across the absolute nuggets like this. This is going to be very helpful. Can't wait to put it in to practice. Thank you sir.
What a great lesson Stich. Very Jerry. He was such a melodic guitar player. Thank you for letting us on the train!
This ....THIS ....is exactly what I've been struggling with.
Cheers dude.
Best lesson I've ever seen! Makes perfect sense! Thank you!
Thanks Ian, this is probably your most useful lesson yet! Greetings from England 😀👍🏻
Great lesson Ian. I’ve never seen this thought before. Good stuff Thanks for sharing!
Such a good dude and great teacher. Stay humble.
Exactly what I needed ! Thank you so much !!!
Loved to re visit your vids, when I need to. You're amazing
Excellent tutorial on soloing; makes so much sense.
Great! Love the idea of the vocal melody train and the improv train - awesome metaphor and really an ah-hah moment! Thanks!
One of the best impro lessons I've seen! Thanks Stich!
Waw a lesson that makes sense and easy fo follow was looking for a long time for a lesson like yours my friend thank you.
Really nice lesson. Always appreciate the melodic chase.
Thanks so much. That one lesson is something I've tried to figure out for quite a long time. I will apply that to my own steps. But you got me going.
Great “training”! (I am the caboose on the improv train.) Interestingly, when Joe Pass was asked for the umpteenth time how to become a better improviser, his answer always was “Learn the tunes!” My favorite “melody” improviser is Amos Garrett, with Jerry Garcia (“Me & Bobby McGee”) on the list, too. A lot of great country players do this, especially on ballads. Actually, one guy really good at it is Willie Nelson! Thanks - great lesson!
The best tutorial ever, using my favorite song. Thank you!
Love the train analogy for soloing. Your teaching is right on track.
how have i never heard of this “Train” analogy. for me. genius. you just unlocked soloing for me. thanks you
Thank for sharing this beautiful idea ❤️
What a great lesson. So helpful Master stitch. Working with an original band for the first time developing songs as we go has been a learning fiasco for me. This puts a LOT into perspective. Thank you again good sir.
You are an amazing teacher !! Mindblown
Great lesson! Thanks Stich
You convinced me, I subscribed.
This is a really really really good lesson.
Fantastic lesson! Definitely going to practice using melody as a foundation or “train” for soloing to a tune. Thanks Ian!!!
This is amazing. Well done, sir!
Excellent! I’m just now diving into these 🤘
At last a teacher that does not leave me dazed and confused. Love his calm friendly approach and great way at looking at things.
one of the best tutorial ever!!! thank you StichMethod Guitar..
Love that guitar sound.
Thank you Sir!
Have loved your style, content and delivery and has really helped advance my playing through lockdowns and all. You are the only UA-cam guitar genius who smiles (nearly) as much as Tim Pierce
I'll back that!🎸🤘🎸
I'm off and running! Thanks for sharing your knowledge and insight. This is a great lesson and has really spurred me on.
Wow , what a brilliant lesson, ! Thanks so much for sharing
Hello Stich, Thanks for this great lesson ! !

You have a wonderful way of teaching. God bless your work!
Great video, getting a Stich notification is the best!
i've been away from guitar for a LONG time but it's calling me back. i am really really enjoying your videos. I so wish UA-cam had been around in the 80s. :/
What a wonderful lesson! 👍
Wow , this is one of the best tips ever, thank you.
Indeed this is the best video on improvisation after watching dozens of videos on how to improvise.
This video like many Stitch videos are like small gold nuggets on a black sand beach. Easy to see and so worthwhile to pick up. Thank you.
A really great video. I'd always wondered about the dynamic/contrast between the lead improv and the melody. This covers it so neatly.
Excellent lesson!! Thanks for sharing this with us all!!!
Just amazing and made it so easy. Thanks
This is the video that I was looking for since a long time. It really changed my mindset to guitar soloing. And this was question that I have asked people about for many times and got no answer. Thank you so much. For me, you are a legend, a hero, a genius.❤❤❤❤❤❤
So simple, yet has been so elusive for me, this video has finally found what was there all along,
someone to explain is simple terms what to look for, bravo Sir, now I just need to practice my discovery.
Thank you for sharing... easy to understand 🙏🙏🙏
Omg what a great method and thought process. Incredible
This was very helpful for me. Thanks!
it took me a long time to get back on the train :) another amazing well thought out video Ian! thank you so much for this. My guitar playing has improved drastically ever since i started watching. and thank you for sharing the fundraiser for your neighbor, just donated.
