@@Conorsev I didn't say modify the cars. Just similar tyres for a proper comparison. They still stock. Do you think a car doesn't stay stock if someone changes old outdated tyres for new ones? It's like changing a sprinters shoes. It's still stock just the tires are upto date. As they should be.
@@Conorsev the JDM cars come with racing semi-slicks stock?
@@Gamez4eveR yes if you change the tires the car isn't stock. That's literaly what stock means.
@@Conorsev newsflash: the guys in the video stated explicitly that they swapped the tyres of the JDM cars. This also requires a suspension tune, which has been done to ensure optimal performance with new tires.
And no, EVOs and Skylines do not come with semi-slicks stock. As far as I know even modern super cars and sports cares don't come with semi-slicks stock.
How do i get this in my recommendations after 10 years. Watching it on Jan 2nd 2022
fr🤣
Right. Same with the 3000GT (GTO) VR-4. 276HP on paper, but 320HP in real life.
but the evo has a tiny engine and a turbo and it can still keep up. youd atleast expect the big block cars to catch the evo.
but evo too good yess
the power of high compression engines
@@tl275 the power of semi-slick tires with race focused suspension tuning
all JDM cars in this fight are using racing semi-slicks with tuned suspension, while all non JDMs are using stock road tires.
you'd be foolish to think this was a genuinely fair comparison
@@Gamez4eveR source?
@@zackilhdz ...the video itself?
Considering the Evo is way down on power compared to the Porsche and Skyline, it really ran them close.
it got left in the dust on the home straight but look at how much it catches up coming out of the first corner.
Stunning car.
Evo fan here
Man this guy depends a lot on his knowledge of tyers 😂
Supra is a heavy slug. These are stock cars. Supra would be good if it had a significant weight reduction. Shame they didn't put a evoIX
There was no EVO IX then !
Kuba D I dont see a date on this vid. the 9 started form 2006 or 2007 i think. No way the video is older than that :s
DjayJohn If it isn't, there would be 997 Porshe, Corvette C6, EVO X and Nissan GT-R R35 already. That's why it is at least 2002.
my civic has a 7 inch exhaust its faster then all these chumps
The grandpa in Porsche was definitely more risky, that's why he won
he was rightfully pissed, last starting position, normal tires, JDM cars had semi-slicks (and of course suspension tuning for said semi slicks)
Porsche won simply because it's a superior car.
@@niceopinion374 noone asked Porsche fan for opinion
@acktually aintaddingup lmfao how in the shit? because your broke ass can afford a used subaru?
the nsx used was the type s zero and not the nsxR and this track was well suited for high HP cars with good traction.
on a tighter more technical course it would have surely turned out differently because the hp wouldn't be able to be used to the max.
i just love the roaring of that 911, you just know you got a 911 if you hear that sound
the c5 and modena suffering of their rwd only especially the c5 because of the instability, the nsx lacking of power, both lancer and r34 great performance and thanks to 4wd, lancer has a turbo whole which makes it slower
I would love to see this again with modern cars.
I like how there was no mention of what tyres the JDM cars were running.
Porsches can literally do enything and everything good! Complete
This reminded me of when my parents bought the Playstation 1 and the first game they got me was Gran Turismo. Great video!
Still playing GT1 sometimes...totally legend
they should have all used the same tires just to have some kind of constant. the two jdm cars that had better tires seemed like a disadvantage to the rest. tires make a massive difference.
Looks like an old Need For Speed game, with stock but powerful cars in a racetrack. Nice!
7:22 That’s nice double clutching, 3 gears down in a few seconds :0
Very cool to have these kind of « foot cam », let us appreciate the technique more
That is not double clutching, my friend. That's heel-toe downshifting.
@@mikael4126 ho, alright, thank you for the precision ! Still amazing tough :)
@@MightyCoffeeMaker Yes, agreed. Takes a lot of skill and confidence to do that at such speeds.
Days where 300hp still felt like 1000hp
Crazy how the c8 vette costs just a hair above the c6’s msrp while basically being a street legal rocket ship
Porsche makes my fave cars but they all did pretty good. It's nice to know that you can spend less and still get a quality fast car.
That's Japan. Admitting how good the rivals are but being honest about the pros and cons.
JDM cars are only restricted to 280hp compared to those that have more than 300hp but still gives a neck to neck battle.
The jdms got semis and the porches was on road tires
1 month ..no
1 year ...no
5 years ...no
10 years...yes . it is perfect time for youtube recommendation
Did i understand it right and says the guy at the end, the jdm cars have only 280 hp, due japanese regulations?
R34 - *"You merely adopted the dark, I was born in it"*
*i still think that the 911 was lucky.... They should have done a few matches instead of just one and then declared... This wasnt a race.... It was supposed to be a comparison... A drive to prove...
My list in liking order ;
1 Nsx
2 R34
3 360
4 996
5 Vette
6 Evo
That EVO tho!!!!!
My God
Ah the nostalgia. And that techno is awsome. So very 90's
That's right, i'm not from US and i think it not make any difference. You can't compare two different engines...Vette is NA and much older car, Koenigsegg is charged. Put supercharger or turbo into that Vette and then you can compare something.
Real fast and furious better than some of the films franchise. Sticking to the script, just driving
bruh porsche's engine is bigger and more powerful than GTR and it's only little bit faster on straight I though porsche will win easily but GTR was really close
Maybe the gtr was close because it started first?
@@Steelmack yep
the JDM cars had racing semi-slick tires. the non JDM cars had stock road sports tires.
Tires can cut off more than 10% off lap times. that's a lot
check out the corvette shift knob moving like crazy when it corners lmao gm forgot to put the mounts in
Put same size wheels (four corners) in 265" on the Corvette and it will do much better..
Really?
>stock 911 turbo goes from last to first going up against AWD legends with fucking semi slicks and suspension tuning, priceless. But very shifty, Japan, very shifty.
Dayum they didn't even take out the yellow limiter on the gtr too make it 500hp? running on 280 hp, and still able to come in 2nd place behind the porsche. Fucking loooove jdm
Hardly a surprise throwing a 911 turbo in there ... a base model 911 997 will do... make it a bit more interesting too!
If top 3 had the same power, the result would be much different.
Looks like the Sunday Cup from GT series. Thanks for sharing!
Watching this is great, but I can't help but think I'm going to hear "Fukui-san?" as the camera pans over to someone preparing foie gras
I was rootin for porche, but, u kno, nothing can stop the power of Japan
Music sounds like something you’d hear on the Gran Turismo 1 soundtrack.
Now put 420HP on the GTR as the Porsche to see a different result.
@OriginalFake "Stock" it's just a word. A GTR Nismo has 600 HP a GTR Premium has 560HP they are "stock".
In real street racing, R34 is very competitive. r34 My favorite car.
Love how the vette is just having fun sliding the corners in the back.
This is classic, elegant & pure vibe.
And today the Skyline GTR would start as the last car in the row depending on pricing.
*I'd like to thank youtube for this recommendation, No Regrets.*
"The JDMs were under the 280hp regulation" yeah right.
add semi slicks and appropriate suspension tuning and it's very realistic performance from sub 280HP cars
@@Gamez4eveR idk how much power the mitsubishi was making but that gtr made 280hp flat. To the wheels. That's around 320 to the crank.
@@aaronvector4750 regardless, they weren't using stock tires on the JDM AWD cars
@@Gamez4eveR True. Even in the video they say the JDMs have better tires than the rest, and I know the Fezza and Porsche in particular had better factory tires.
Love the fact that the porsche had a hundred more horsepower but the gtr was on its tail
power of semi slicks with suspension tuning vs stock road tires
They should make a new Japan Vs. The World. LFA, GTR, and New NSX when its released or Evo 10 vs Corvette ZR1, Ferrari 458, and Porsche 911 GT3 RS 4.0 or the new GT3 RS when its released.
*Obviously the Japanese up front! And of course the German on Nr 1 !!*
*The results COULDN'T have been more predictable!!* 👍🏻👍🏻 Exactly the exexpected result!
Germany Nr.1 no doubt.
Japanese on the same level of course, as they did as well, with not as much horse power as the German!
Then the Italian, yes we all love Italian elegance.
And Usa at last, pretty, powerful, but afterall never perfected with precision, simply containing the biggest motor they could fit, but ignoring the possible potential with some more fine engineering. (Like Japan and Germany fully are capable of)
I mean I know this was 10 years ago but honestly why did they use that corvette that thing is slow compared to a zo6 or zr1
they should, but I think their idea for fairness is using the same tires that came with the car from the manufacturers (which is fair enough in my opinion too)
Better tires for the JDMs, but even then it was obvious they were going to hold well, after all they're on a short circuit where they excel at. German cars are tuned more for autobahn cruising, specially the 911 Carrera/Turbo.
