For those who don't know, KF Seetoh is a legendary street food critic in Singapore. He has really shine light on the traditional cooking methods and food culture, and guided the likes of Anthony Bourdain etc through his long career. I also personally respect that he does not put on airs or care about visuals the way other Singaporean food influencers do. He really cares 100% about the food. Edited for grammar
“…..Hey hey there you, who are you talking about….I know this man is a true talent and you can feel his true worth about how he cares & what type of individual he is…You are soooooo correct & how I know I can feel it”!!!! G-MOMMEE
If he didn't go culinary school or master chef like Gordon then he isn't a food critic he's just a picky eater. In streets of course cuz he aint on my uncle Gordon's level.
I lived in Singapore for 20 years total, all of the 90’s and then all of the 10’s. The place is food paradise for the intrepid, and kudos to Mark for celebrating it. And then you have the natural graciousness of Singaporeans. It’s a tiny island with a big international foot print. Everyone must go there.
Love the fact that he's able to give us the history behind all the Singapore favorites. He was also a friend of Anthony Bourdain if you Bourdain fans may recall.
Such a joy to watch KF Seetoh. His passion for the local food scene. The way he celebrates the hawkers and food stall owners. Couldn't stop smiling the entire video. 29:48 was touching. Love the guy❤️❤️
Glad that Mark chose to work with SeeToh, someone who has lived the 70s/80s, someone who has tasted and knows how authentic Singapore Street/Hawker Food in the 70s/80s were like, and how they were authentically prepared and the ingredients originally used in that era.......things that young food bloggers know nuts about.
This gentleman, Seetoh made this video a DELIGHT. Usually I watch everything you do expecting your take on certain foods. This man had amazing knowledge of EXPRESSLY Singaporian dishes....and it was extraordinary. Thank You!
As a Singaporean I'm so glad to see KF Seetoh introduce all the food in less well-known (not the chinatown complex, hong lim or golden mile) hawker centres that's locally loved!
My first time "meeting" Mr. Seetoh. Such a gracious gentleman, who has spent enough time with these vendors so that there is mutual respect and kindness between. Based on this video, he surely has learned which vendors have delicious food, and have continued precious family traditions. This is top notch Mark!!
I am new to Mark's video's as I am planning on visiting Singapore next year and wanted to see what the food was like - really informative and interesting and the food and the city of Singapore looks out of this world. Mark's enthusiasm makes you want to see them again and you can practically taste the food. I cannot wait until next year...
Yes I agree with you! All the food featured in this video are indeed invented in SG. Its insulting that some shameless people would claim and imagine otherwise.
I don't know about KF Seetoh but you can see he acted and explained with lots of passion. It looks like he is a hard worker as well. Love when he promoted the Indian spice store, congratulated the shrimp snack owner, etc. Love this video, Mark.
Thank you so much, Mark and Seetoh. Singapore food culture is rich and diverse as we have Chinese, Malay, Indian, Peranakan and Eurasian cuisine to choose from. It is a joy to see food vlogger like you spreading positivity unlike Malaysian's Uncle Roger/Nigel Ng who insults SG food and other people for views (I support food vlogger Mike Chen after learning what that opportunist did to him).
Not only recognised by UNESCO, our hawker food are also awarded Michelin Star and Michelin Bib Gourmand. In fact, our hawker centre concept is also copied by a certain neighbouring country.

Seetoh's impersonation of you was quite authentic. Apart from the in-depth research, knowledge and explanation, a touch of humour added to the whole video. Can't wait to get there.
Hey I went to that exact hawker center in 2019. Please please go with an empty stomach you will want to eat everything lol. They have a Malaysian stall that stays open till 3am down the far left side. They wrap the food in brown paper it's sooooo good. Fried pork over noodles 🤯🤯🤯
Hope u had a good trip :) Redhill is one of my places of my childhood during school days. I’m so glad u considered visiting this area. Please come back and visit Singapore again ^.^

I lived in Singapore as a child and have some happy memories but I don't recall any of this, it looks amazing. These people really know how to prepare good food

It has been 35 years gone by, but when I lived in Singapore I enjoyed some of the best seafood food available anywhere on the island. While off the beaten path for most but the experienced eater, this are remains a culinory high point for us. I would hope that someday you might take my advice and travel off the beaten path to Pungol to experience such gourmet delicacies.
seafood i think you mean Punggol Promenade? its has a couple of seafood restaurants there. Punggol has gone through alot of changes and now looks like a very modern ( really nice ) neighborhood with waterways and parks going through! )
Ah…. The good old days of Punggol seafood when people have to drive to this deserted foresty but still often packed place for seafood, satay and beer. Always feels like an adventure for me when I was a kid to go there with the fam.
