I am an Indian and was working in Singapore between 1999 to 2007. During lunch time my Indian colleagues used to visit only Indian food stalls but I used to die for Singapore chinese food. I have tried every chinese local dish. I got so accustomed to tofu and shitake mushroom and even till today I have them in india.
Crazy thing is, the best tofu dishes ive ever had came from Indian restaurants
@@RileyTA846 ... have you been eating paneer all the while thinking you had tofu? Paneer is really good but it's not actually tofu...
@@Ealsante The ingredients of each are different to be compared, tofu from soybean milk and Paneer from dairy product. The texture and taste are definitely different, maybe the restaurant he mentioned also served tofu dishes? Why r u assume he's mistaken between two dishes?

I love Singapore’s hawker culture; cheap, yummy, down to earth & lively
I must be weird. The cheap foods appealed much more to me than the fancy presentations. 🤣
Everybody likes different things and that's ok :)
u r not alone lol
Nah, you're fine and normal.
Your ok, because no one can taste a design.
I’ve spent a lot of time in Singapore and I’ve never been in a fancy restaurant. The cheap eats can’t be beat.
I am another "short timer" Singapore resident - only 3 years and I still miss Singapore - even though it's very different to my home of Scotland. I loved hawker food and once I got over the British "fear" of buying street food from stalls and realised the quality and taste for the money - I was hooked. maxwell was my local hawker place and I had food from there at least a couple of times per week. Loved the video and it's great to see more hawker places being recognised by the Michelin guide. Some of my best food in Singapore was like S$5 or less!
Mike goes fancy! I like that he mixes it up between cheap eats dive places and high end fine dining.
Lucky bugger
Yeah, you can tell he’s just passionate about food and he makes it interesting
I lived in Singapore for middle school and I miss that place more than words can describe. Singapore made me a foodie 100%. If anyone gets the chance to go, do it! Best place I've ever been.
You can't not liking watching this guy, it's educational and a joy. Ive tried numerous places based on his videos and ive yet to be disappointed
Singapore is by far KING of cheap 5 star food easily! It’s difficult to go wrong. It’s such a comfort food.
That looks so healthy, colorful, and super yummy! 😋😋😋😋
Yes, you've made me want to go to Singapore someday just to eat my way through wherever I stay, Mike! Hawker stalls, mostly, of course.
Do come and experience our food and culture 🎉
12:35 dress shirt finally, must be required 😂😂
The shrimp rice rolls look so delicious. Just for $3!!!. I love Singapore’s hawker culture; cheap, yummy, down to earth & lively.
Great food experiences, all around. Delicious 😋 👍🌻
I’m drooling watching this, looks absolutely amazing.I can’t believe how talented people are with the presentation of the food, very artistic ❤
Can't agree more - everyday is an amazing food day! 😋
Did you guys pay Mike to visit Singapore so frequently? Like how u guys pay Nas 😂
@@rejectwokeness1314 Don't believe so. The videos won't be so organic. And would probably feature government officials/endorsed artistes.
Hello Mike, the food looks so flavourful. 😊 Keep on uploading more amazing food recommendation videos. 👍
I enjoyed this so much. The beautiful dinner was just so incredible. What an experience.
Thank you for bringing all this great Asian cuisine in yet another amazing video. All the places you visit are on my bucket list. So far I have only managed the Buc-ees in Texas, that video was a while ago. Keep up the great work.
Hi Mike, loves your food videos.... Simple yet informative.... You are a great inspiration... Am starting my own & hope to be as successful as you... Take Care mike...
I enjoy your videos!! Thank you, 😊
I so live vicariously thru you ! 😍😍😍
That restaurant where he's eating the noodles 🍜 and soup 🍲 looks amazing 👏 and that's gotta be so relaxing with the food and rain 🌧 outside 😊
That stall is located at Alexandra Village hawker centre. I'm surprised that Mike knows about it.
Welcome back Mike!!
Thank you for sharing this awesome experience! The food looks amazing!❤🧡💛💚💙💜
Welcome to Singapore Mike. You have been coming here more often, great.
I’ve been watching your videos for years and one day I’m going to compile a list of places to eat and I need to try all of these! Your videos the only ones I’ve consistently watched ❤
My favourites are: the soy sauce chicken, the steamed spare ribs, hainanese chicken and the prawn cheong fun.😋🤗

The shrimp rice rolls look so delicious. Just for $3!!!
What an amazing experience you took us on. Thank you!
Food looks amazing, but so happy to see you dressed up, it really suits you!!
The hawkers center in Singapore are my favorite place to visit
I was thinking although the fancy food was beautiful maybe it was made for a dolls house party 🤣 but I guess you have so many portions you actually feel like you’ve had something to eat ! A great experience I’m sure 👌👍
It is always hard to follow a timeline with Mike's content. This seemed to be many months ago
Yes all over the place
Yea was wondering does he live here or does he film in 1 shot & separate the video into different part?
This bideo was filmed when he was still 9 yo that’s why
Hi Mike what is comment about the best brand of chili oil thanks
My uncle is a Michelin star chef in Singapore, restaurant table 65.
I was hoping you would visit there haha.
I think it’s weird how everything Mikey tries in every video is the BEST HES EVER TRIED 🧐
well priced great food wish the whole world would be as well priced as these
Living in Kyoto now. Not to say I don't love Japanese food, but I really miss SG food back home so god darn bad.
I know how much you love food and rain. I'll bet you were having a great time!!!!!!
Been to Singapore twice it’s like a home to me.
bro singapore has the best street foods..those hawker centers were so cheap n yumy...back then 1998-2003 dishes cost btween 1.50 and 3 singapore dollars
My mouth was watering!!! Make it stop!
Who adds Chili oil in congee?
Waiting for your umami Singapore 7-11 video
That looks so healthy, colorful, and super yummy! . Thank you for sharing this awesome experience! The food looks amazing!.
45, layers of chicken skin?
It's a great recipe for cardiovascular disaster!
You should try all the Michelin restaurants like Candlenut, Odette, etc. hehe
This guy makes us want to go to Singapore again, again and again.
The first time I went to Singapore, I watched one of Mike’s videos and had high expectations, and even then it blew me away.
It's gelatinous Mikey...Just gelatinous.....No such word as gelatinousy 😁❤
Aww...but I love the way he talks!! 😎
Love all your videos you are one of my all time favorites. I hope and can’t wait for you to do the Michelin food in South Korea.
Wow that Taro!!!!
The noodles with the bokchoy looks like a dream
hawker stalls are more homey comfort food, soy chicken, hainanese Chicken, century egg congee, wanton soup, steamed spare ribs, mouth watering!
I can see the idea that it's a food journey with the different flavors they give to you one after another in a progression from beginning to end.
With that being said, the hawker stalls are for me.
Not going to lie I did a double take on the chicken with the big red spot. Wasn't till the second shot it looked like a sauce or something on the inside 😂😂
Love your content mike! You always make my day!🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤
💯💯💯💯💯👍😀
👏👏👏👏 Great video!!!😋😋😋😋 I've never been so hungry in my life😆
Great video! Love singapore and love food ❤
I would love to see Singapore!😀
Being away from home and watching this is killing me😂
To me, a Michelin star for cheap food means that it’s good food, while a star for expensive food means that the food serves nothing more than a social label of one’s status
When you go to a high-end restaurant, it's more about the experience than anything else (and of course the food will be delicious and unique normally in these sorts of places) rather than showing off one's social status. At least normally. If you go to a $1500 a plate 5 star restaurant in some super expensive place, yeah that's the status symbol usually. But places like this, much more for the experience. As someone who went to the CIA and was training to become a chef, and worked in restaurants on the line for a while, most of these chefs are smart, dedicated people who love food. And want others to see their "vision" as it were. That being said, I know nothing of this chef - but the food and dishes all look really unique and I'd guess it's an experience thing for that place.
@@LordLOC For a sec I was wondering if you were trained by the CIA to be a spy in a restaurant then I realised it was the Culinary Institute of America! lol
@@jsurfin1 No, I was a spy in the restaurant industry trained by the best of the US government to get all the secrets to a good Beef Wellington :D
@@LordLOC haha
Man some chefs really are artists. The menu was so beautiful. I actually liked the quantity of food. Thankyou for sharing!
That fancy food looks tasteless, nothing beats street food so yummy 😋
And the portions, so small
This is street food though!
I agree with you 100%
I love hawker food stalls in Singapore or Malaysia! Some of the best, delish, and affordable foods there! Also, it's been a while since I seen a Mikey vid, he's lost a lot of weight! Good for him!
While at Alexandra food centre, did you try the avocado milkshake there ? Highly recommended
Yoooooooooo saw you the other day in Chinatown
This Guy knows how to EAT and Appreciate every bite!
I haven't been to Singapore in over 20 yeas, US Navy. Other than food, there's a great Botanical Garden and Orchid Garden. I miss it all. Time to make travel plans...
Love seeing these kind of foodie vids it shows cheap eats and high end fancy food at the same time
Are u still in singapore? Now I got the time to follow u out haha!
u should come to Peru and try our food!!!
Hannan chicken is so good.
My mouth is watering
Why are you adding chili sauce to congee? That just doesn't go together
He treated it like it's salty tofu soup the breakfast thing they eat in north/western China, I had to fast forward that part it hurt my soul.
@@loveislove2359 he's doing it less throughout the years but yeah it hurts when he adds tons of chili sauce to everything especially to cantonese food 💔
WOW!!!! Such great dishes!!!!
Chili oil into congee, seriously!?
Yummy
Welcome to Singapore!
Can I take a second to compliment my man on his background music. It's a vibe.
맛있겠다 🍴
Whatever it is at 14:45. That looks awesome! Deliciousness
It’s not bok choy. That’s gai lan. You should know this!!
How come Mike is always in Singapore 😅
Hi Mike, I don't know if you would see my comment. Just wanna tell you that I noticed most of your visits in Singapore, all the meals that come with soup. You can ask for a refill for no extra cost. Just walk up to the stall and ask for another filling of soup, such as wanton noodles, chicken rice. Food such as western cream soup or prawn Mee soup don't give extra soup refill.
The way the fancy dishes are presented reminds me of the menu. But since the video was posted I'm gonna assume he made it ou alive 😂
I was thinking the same thing lol
YES! Even the open kitchen concept reminded me of The Menu
5:30 is that Blood in the chicken? 😅
I thought so as well.
@@Casinogirl56 how can he ignored that 🤣 Pink Chicken
A single tomato served on crushed ice 🤣🤣🤣 "excuse me waiter wheres the rest of my salad?"🤣
this video makes me wanna get on a plane and go to singapore just for the food
Same
Singapore’s hawker food is unbeatable!
I am so surprised that there is no kiasu malusian in your comment😂😂😂
You should try the horfun just beside the soy sauce chicken, packs a great wokhey taste.
I like how mikey never irons his shirt haha
Love Singapore!!❤️
I can't watch fancy restaurants without thinking about The Menu now.
The soup stall you went to is my favourite . You drank my favourite soup too
Reminded me of the move “the menu” shoulda ordered a cheese burger lol
BRO THE CHIKEN WAS RAW IN THE MIDDLE
Welcome back Mikey!
