Hi, I'm the coach for Team Twelve. I'm a fan of your educational videos. In the last few months, Tass has been exclusively drafted for 3 reasons: With Hanzo, with tracer, and to deny the other team from getting the Tass+Hanzo combination. It is extremely difficult to kill a hanzo with a tass because of the shields, their long range poke, and nullification. When paired with a Hanzo, a Tass usually goes armor on shields because his AA's are significant enough to warrant the increased life steal. Nullification's 75% damage reduction CAN NOT be cleansed and can only be removed by DShield and Sanc. At the pro level, the one of the biggest questions, if not the biggest question of every draft is: Where do we get our wave clear? At the pro level we are obsessed about soaking. On maps with long objectives, like Volskaya, both teams will send someone to the adjacent lanes to catch the soak. Heroes like Blaze, Junkrat, Tass, Jaina, Gul'dan, Leo, Zera, Malthael, and Dehaka are great at that. Tass+Tracer is starting to see a comeback because of the recent Tracer changes (baseline HP/AA buff + Melee/Pulse Bomb nerf). Tracer's new meta 13 talent is Ricochet instead of W Bullet Spray means Tracer now has even less wave clear. Ricochet plus her stronger baseline AA's makes increases her synergy with Tass. Tempo Storm use to run a very good Tass comp. They use to pair Tass with Hanzo and Rag. Rag is particularly strong with Tass because Rag's trait, Molten Core, made it very difficult for the other team to end the game early with, there helping ensure that their Tass gets to level 20, and becoming a 2nd hyper carry with archon. Feel free to DM if you have any questions NotParadox when you're making your next video. I would love to help.
Definitely, I add a lot of that stuff, but I focused on how he is picked because of tracer and hanzo, but he often isn't used with them that much during the game, he pushes waves, slows enemies, uses nullify and becomes a huge threat by himself at 20. Speaking of TT I have 2 Fun facts, I asked Daneski if they wanted another analyst about 2 months ago when I was looking to be an analyst TT and HHE were my top 2 choices. And during my "why the pros pick Aba" Justing is the aba player I used the clip from.
It seems like a lot of what makes tas good is that he is a sort of "off support" that provides some sustain for the team as well as some utility outside of his support abilities. But what separates tas from the other "off supports?" Zarya provides equal shielding, can have multiple shields up at once on allies, and either of her ultimates seem like they would be way more impactful in team/boss fights. Tyrande has decent single target sustain and can also provide vision, while simultaneously putting up a ton of damage and also boosting the damage of her allies. Khara has several viable builds that allow him to turn into a formidable damage dealer or healer. With all these options it seems like the only reason tas is picked over them is because of wave clear, but his wave clear isn't fantastic by any means, there are plenty of other heroes who do a better job. Why does it make more sense to pick tas than to pick one of the other off supports and another hero with exceptional wave clear?
It saddens me to read this comment because this means Tassadar is a Hero reliant on two other Heroes to be relevant in the pro scene. A Hero that cannot stand on their own is poor design.
I noticed it, and it's amazing if he did it on purpose. If it was just some random game, i'd be 100% sure that was luck, but being a pro, it could not be just luck.
A friend showed me you because I'm new to HotS and I asked him for educational videos that get straight to the point as opposed to just showing gameplay, and I was really really impressed, I'm so glad I found you! I've learned so much from watching every single one of your HotS videos, and I'm really looking forward to seeing your new content!! ★ Thank you so much!
Dude! Really like all your content. I have personally been advising your channel since I found it as I feel it's so insightful and educational. Keep up the good work!
I'm glad you finally did Tass! I've played him to level 10 and I still didn't know what the heck he can do :P Really like this hero, glad you did him XD
Yay my fav hero in this game! I love playing him with force wall with the clutch saves/kills. I had trouble handling nullify along with all the other things you manage as tassadar. After watching your video, I practiced and got the hang of it. It greatly improved my game. I remember a while back when I was still new at HotS when we got dominated by an enemy tassadar with infinite archon. I tried the hero and struggled greatly. After watching many videos, I realized that I was much better in using force wall. Having fun with him ever since. Anyways, best of luck to your youtube channel as your content is one of the best in the HotS community and I hope you continue with your videos!
You should do a video about bosses and hero vehicles. I don't think enough people realize that picking % based damage vs a hero vehicle (protector, dragon knight, terror) can help kill it faster. Also taking talents vs bosses, including immortals, and why would would want bonus damage vs non-hero enemies (such as Amateur Opponent on Artanis vs Immortals on BoE). I've never seen any videos on the subject, and I think some players would find it helpful. I'm always thinking ahead with this in draft, like, for example, "hmm, Tychus would be good vs a garden terror." Lunara and Artanis are great for this as they both have strong PvP and PvE damage talents.
I had a whole video done about vehicles then decided that I wanted to do a series on all the maps and the strategies, the first one I did didn't get a lot of attention. Now I am not sure what I will do.
Continue the series, it will pick up eventually. You've gotta keep in mind that you've only started regular HotS uploads about a month ago, so at the moment majority of views are still coming from UA-cam's wild recommendations algorithm, which can't really be fully trusted to distinguish good content. Your most viewed HotS vid atm is 4 Kaelthas mistakes because it was recommended to a lot of people including myself, most likely because YT algorithm likes clickbaity titles (the second most vewed is 5 Artanis swaps, go figure), but I would argue that your BoE map guide is by far more useful than that KT video. As more people discover your channel and subscribe, quality content will get recognition it deserves, so I'm quite sure the map guides will attract attention eventually.
I appreciated the shout out to zarya lol. I made my way from gold 1 to plat 1 last season using zarya with hanzos, vallas' anas', limings, and other poke heroes with a dibbles or a garrosh for main tank. I called it the poke and peel comp, and it worked almost everytjme
I have a build that I do great with that I have never seen anybody do ever. It is basically a oracle/basic attack build. and you will be very surprised how much DPS you do, sometimes you will do the most. Also you and your team will almost always know whats going on for a very far distance all around you and you can shield/heal people but honestly this is a DPS type build so I usually shield myself. With this build you have good DPS, good utility by way of shield and oracle, and survivability by way of shield and dimensional shift. 1) Templars will 4)khalas embrace 7)mental acuity 10) Archon 13)Aduns wisdom 16) Focused beam 20) pRISMATIC LINK
"You've already got your knife! You've already got your cork screw! You've already got your... ... ... nail file!" I feel like this metaphore is getting -really- stretched.
Last time I played Tassadar in HL I picked him 3rd cause they had a nova and my team I guess felt that was the only support we needed. We needed a tank and healer, 4th pick went MT, 5th went Sylvannas. Of course we got stomped, now when I make a bad pick I get flamed hardcore for it. For some reason our Sylvannas pick got away with basically unscathed catching little shit for his terrible pick..
Late response, but wouldn't Medivh be a better choice? His bubble can't be broken instantly, heals for a bit of the damage taken and he has the ability to spread a CC or just completely halt Boss captures or retreats.
medivh wasn't out back then I think, but the strength of tassards shields is completely different from medivhs shield, cause the health gain is better. also, medivh can't really soak
Could you do a video on how to affect ladder matches? Maybe shot calling and managing beginner players. I'm not very assertive so it would help if I was just confident in shot calling. An extensive strategy guide would be cool. Especially on how to dynamically change your plan correctly and recognize situations better. I have player 6000 games so I'm not bad at this but not confident enough. Should I call out every 5 seconds to rotate or what would be the best way to approach guiding inexperienced players? When I was learning hots I mostly focused on learning all characters and how to work together/create synergy and counter but these skills don't matter much on ladder. Its very unlikely draft matters much on ladder nowadays. In lower side of the ladder there are beginners in every match but there are also experienced players so the games are decided by which team has the most beginners. I remember there used to be a time where even in silver the probability was acceptable that the teammates knew how other heroes work besides the ones they were picking. Then came the mega bundles and a lot of new player could get into the ranked very fast and place into all kinds of ranks depending on RNG.
Love your videos. Lots of great information. My only criticism would be to stop predicting the next moves all the time and just analyze the reality. Keep up the good work!
Suggestion: Let the action happen and then explain it, this way it does not get annoying with all the pauses and low framerates which are caused by pause effect when you hit play again. Also you don't have to predict the action which warrants the pause for 2 seconds, we trust you know stuff, just explain what happened.
i keep getting reported for non-participation and as soon as we hit 20 we start wining ^^ with me as MVP.. Usualy peeps dunno what to do when they got the shield on them. I'm like.. go do some AA to get health and dont just run around with it ^^
Awesome to be heard - doesn't happen much with UA-camrs (admittedly you guys have a lot of work on your plate so no salt, just joy :D). Anyways watched a few of your other videos after this one and I agree with you, seems like it was only a case in this video tbh :P
This guys commentary and explanations are pretty weak, even in his 'anchoring' video. Just sort of says "yeahhh, look, theirs some things that you can sort of do, and they're picked a lot, and its good, yeahhhh". There's not really much meat on the bone there man, there's no reallll reason why you would pick Tass over someone else for example; which is actually your very first point of the video.
Again in the game that you're viewing "The good thing about Garosh and Tass is that when Garosh is low HP, he has armour, so with Tass you have a shield and then armour". You're not actually saying anything here man, just telling us that if someone uses an ability then it gets used? What I wanna know is, does Garosh's armour get applied to the shield? Therefor making it exponentially stronger? That would be some reallll knowledge, not just "yes abilities help".

lol no hero stands on their own in HotS. That's why no one puts themselves in a position to be ganked easily at pro level.
instablaster...
37:43 he walked into the Warden's Cage
Funxp thank you for figuring that out. It was bugging me lol
OHH, that makes sense and is pretty amazing if he planned that. He used it to dodge the explosion. That was slick. I couldn't figure it out.
I noticed it, and it's amazing if he did it on purpose. If it was just some random game, i'd be 100% sure that was luck, but being a pro, it could not be just luck.
That's pro as fuck
Watching it it's definitely on purpose. He moves out first so as to give himself more room when he goes back in to get pulled. Awesome.

I once drafted tassadar as main healer, got reported at the start of game by entire team! Then I proceeded to win the game as MVP! Feels good!
Glad you decided to do the tass video after all!
Garrosh is clearly a spoon.
Dude! Really like all your content. I have personally been advising your channel since I found it as I feel it's so insightful and educational. Keep up the good work!
"Why the pros play Tassadar"?, its just because: Why not?, he is Tassadar, the saviour of the protoss!
"This it's a pro team , not heroes of the dorm ,not ur diamondscrub league
Please do more proplay analysis! Really love how you explained in detail every moment of the play.
I never thought I needed more HotS insight in my life. This video convinced me otherwise. Teach me, master!
next you will be calling him daddy :3
I'm glad you finally did Tass! I've played him to level 10 and I still didn't know what the heck he can do :P Really like this hero, glad you did him XD

Had someone rage hard on me for double soaking as Tassadar. Feelspugman.
go double soak .. rest of team go's all in.... all die .... then blame the sololaner xD
it gets salty ... lost xD

So basically Tassadar is a half-elf bard.
no tassadar is a swedish knife.. :P
eq style?
Love your HOTS work, keep going man!
Thank you sooo much!!! Keep doing this, I'm learning a LOT! :D
Tass in a quote: "Jack of all trades, master of none"
Felt smarter after watching, thanks for your video :D
The expression you’re looking for is jack of all trades.
I appreciated the shout out to zarya lol. I made my way from gold 1 to plat 1 last season using zarya with hanzos, vallas' anas', limings, and other poke heroes with a dibbles or a garrosh for main tank. I called it the poke and peel comp, and it worked almost everytjme

reminds me of Ryze from lol, people cant play him in solo Q at all, but in pro play he is so good
The maiev ult threw him at the last second
39 mins?

I like Tassadar but I'm lucky if I get a support in HL. Maybe I'll see where we can fit him in in my TL group.
Hey dude can you do a guide on medivh? Cheers!
Yea I think it’s good idea
That was really good Tass guide
Thx for the video
awesome vid
You don't have to pause the replay every 2 seconds btw
Late response, but wouldn't Medivh be a better choice? His bubble can't be broken instantly, heals for a bit of the damage taken and he has the ability to spread a CC or just completely halt Boss captures or retreats.

My sassy tassy is really up there in level I really want to hit 100 on him so the more tips and advice I get for him the better :D
hes only good for that starscream jet skin
He used Maiev's ult to escape tyreal. Boss
just for archon lv 20 in low ranks at towers of doom, its pretty good
im a swiss army knife
but like
a really shitty one you get at a gas station
Tl;dr hots logs needs a "per division" filter.
They have a per division. His win rate is higher in higher ranks, but still isn't as high as his premade pro teams.
I'd love to see some genji analysis if you can fit it in somewhere.
i prefer to make a D build on tassadar its cool to spam shield and storm
Love your videos. Lots of great information. My only criticism would be to stop predicting the next moves all the time and just analyze the reality. Keep up the good work!
Hey dude nice video but would be really cool if your videos were much shorter, 40 minutes is a lot of time. Thanks for uploading
I miss this tass. i hate the rework
Could you do one on Ragnarok and azmodan?
I like very much your videos, but edit because it's too long and the info is too short. Also add sound effects, it's more fun to see.
Maiev ult threw him at 37:50
yo do an analytical video on KSV black and explain that. any of their win on heroes esports youtube channel.
Dude, hots logs. Not hots slogs.
That framerate was unpleasant to watch... Good vid though otherwise, changed the way I think about Tass.
Suggestion: Let the action happen and then explain it, this way it does not get annoying with all the pauses and low framerates which are caused by pause effect when you hit play again. dude..... you gotta close some tabs. *eye twitches*
tassadar is dead hahahahha
wow I actually play tass better than this dude.
