What about influencers that use homeless people for views? Ive seen a few controversies with some videos influencers have uploaded and think it's so wrong to use homeless people for views. @@AbandonSarahohmyglob yaaaaas. I find it repulsive. Especially gross entities like that Soft White Underbelly debacle. Addiction/ homeless exploitation is so gross.
Doesn't surprise me at all honestly. Her books are just utter nasty drivel featuring so much problematic stuff in a very tasteless and ignorant way, irritates me how she can get any recognition for it.
You were wayyy too nice about Colleen, Swoop. She’s such a gross person. Defending her rapist son, mocking the victim, romanticising abuse to her mostly teenage audience, do I have to go on??
I met CH and asked her as a SA survivor some very pointed questions and she patted my arm and told me "its in your head. Like a book. Just let it go once its done because it doesnt need to be so serious." Ill never read or watch her shit
WTF 😮 At some point while watching the « drama » unfold online I thought « ok maybe Blake and her are just really uncomfortable and don’t get how to talk about it » but this is just DISCONNECTED 100%! I feel she is just using that topic because it would make money without ever wanting to help or give it a platform. It’s… very concerning… I don’t have words to tell you how sorry I am for her reaction but mostly for what you’ve been through. I hope you get a lot of healing and peace ❤
A few years ago, Justin was speaking and presenting an award at a rare disease conference I was at and he was so nice and down to earth. He has so much real advocacy under his belt and passion for helping those who need. He treated everyone including myself with so much respect no matter what our disability or disease was. He gets his hands dirty and doesn’t just make donations or a post online. He. Cares.
@@chelsbak If someone genuinely cares about trying to get it right and trying to lift up the voices of others, that means a lot-- even if they don’t always get it right. I will always prefer the person who TRIES, even if it’s not perfect, to someone who doesn’t try. I’ve not really heard of Justin before this but he seems like a decent person who wants to support others, who thinks about how best to support others, who values people and their differences, and tries to platform other voices if he is not the person who needs to be speaking at that moment. That goes a long way with me.
Swoop, I’m begging you, do a side video about how grossly problematic ALL OF HER BOOKS ARE. She is cashing in on romanticizing abuse in every. single. book. As an aspiring author, she’s my metric for terrible and dangerous commercial writing.
I've never read any of her books but if what you are saying is true, why is she so popular then? I write sf, in two years on Amazon, 5 people bought my novel! She wrotes about abuse and she is popular and sells like crazy! Is that what people like today? Wtf!
@@biljam972 Because teenage girls are obsessed with the idea of an older man being obsessed with them even if it ends up being abusive. Twilight is popular and it has Jacob imprinting on a literal baby. 50 Shades of Grey is popular and yet Christian Grey is a literal sociopath that punished women who look like his mother. And then there's the whole "I can fix him!" rhetoric it's tiring and toxic.
@@theashwoodfaerie2 sadly, that might be it.The fact that abuser is handsome or rich does not make him less of abuser. But that should be told to young girls more.
I actually want a second this one because I think you would be very interested in this deep dive. It’s a lot of emotional manipulation in her books not just in her characters, but also the way that she writes towards the reader to make them feel like she has a point in what she’s writing.
I really feel bad for Justin. He obviously cared so much, investing so much time and support into a really important issue, spending years trying to get a movie made to bring awareness, just for it to get completely overshadowed by controversy caused by someone else.
honestly, the issue isn’t even the book itself - it’s the casting choice. justin could've done so much for dv survivors and he really cared. blake lively is talented, but she just doesn’t fit the vibe of lily bloom from the book. it feels like hollywood went for big names rather than sticking to the raw, relatable essence of the character. coleen hoover’s story deserves a real, grounded portrayal, and i’m not sure this casting does it justice., it’s not the book that’s the issue - it’s how hollywood is handling the adaptation. it ends with us resonated because it told a painful, authentic story about resilience and healing. but casting blake lively changes the tone completely, making it feel less raw and more polished. by prioritizing star power over character accuracy, they risk losing the very heart of lily’s story. fans wanted to see the lily they connected with on the page, not just a famous face.
I have no idea what the thoughts are for this so this question is kinda out of nowhere. But is it appropriate for male survivors to connect with this movie without people turning it into some competition?
@@VDOTU5I feel it’s important to recognize that there are male survivors. I’m a survivor of DV, it’s not offensive to me but I can’t speak for everyone else. I would love to read your work!
Shaming a man for showing his emotions when Justin actually has a podcast that deals with toxic masculinity... I can see why Justin would not get along with Blake.
Stuff like this is why I'm so hesitant on working on my scripts for projects that tackle issues that are this important. And I'm expanding on what to talk about. Female and male survivors. Female and male abusers. Kids. It can never go smooth but I'm sure it will get even worse with mine or anybody else expanding on such.
@@VDOTU5 I understand where you're coming from, and I also feel like that's the price to pay for creating something that goes deep - it might be triggering and people will have a lot of differing opinions about it based on their experience, but if you try to create something that everyone agrees with and that 'goes smooth' you end up creating nothing of substance.
I’ve been YELLING at all my friends on Team Blake about how Justin has been working on himself and trying to reach out to men for years but nobody has been covering that. THANK YOU for doing the work that the mainstream media has absolutely gotten wrong. You’re the best.
I am team no one but I heard Justin was abusive and I believe it. I have found people who insert themselves in the public like these saviors of victims are most of the time, doing so as a pr stunt. Yet the internet in all it's wisdom will come up with every excuse why Blake is evil. None of the staff or cast speak to him, because Blake is a diabolical cult leader. She has brainwashed the entire set of the show that Justin is bad. It can't be because he actually has issues. And he's redeemable imo, but the fact that he launched a preemptive strike in order to paint her as a villan reveals all I need to know about the person he wants to be. I was a victim of horrific things. I wasn't at the movies crying about being triggered or upset because some Hollywood actress didn't play therapist. I wanted to die. I begged to die until I realized that I had the power to leave. I am so grateful that Blake Lively is tone deaf because shes never experienced abuse. I thank Jesus for that!!! As a matter of fact, I have more respect for her for staying in her lane. She is my therapist, preacher, teacher, mother, sister, etc. She is an actress. She played a role. She did her job. She does not need to advocate for anybody nor filter strangers triggers. If more celebrities were like this the world wouldn't be so divisive. It's not her job to make certain you're comfortable. The movie is based on a fake character and she did her job. Who cares? Who cares? What real victims actually care? They don't because they're too busy carrying the weight and damage of what was done to them, thats heavy enough. Everybody has ptsd now, everyone is triggered. It's shameful. Most people have no idea what being triggered looks like. It's definitely not picking up a camera to complain about some Hollywood actress... And you wait. It will come out about who Justin truly is. This was PR campaign because there are many rumors about his borderline abusive behavior. You'll see.
@@charissa6648this was the most nuanced comment I’ve read so far. I tend to agree with you in that the “truth” doesn’t have to be black or white. I absolutely agree with your observation regarding those who seem overly eager to use virtue signaling for PR. What I don’t get about her though is how nonchalant she goes about business, lacks a sensitive chip at times, until it’s about the causes she cares about, that’s when she turns into a highly trigger sensitive Karen. Seems a little hypocritical.
I don't have a problem with Blake cross promoting with her husband. I don't care that she launched a beauty brand with it. I don't care that she launched a new line of alcohol... I DO CARE that she named the alcohol after abusive men. I DO CARE that her husband went in and changed someone's writing without telling anyone. But most of all... I saw Blake's cutesy promo of the film and that "that might be fun for a girls night with mom." Until I looked into the movie further. My Mom escaped her abusive husband in the late 70s, early 80s. I would have felt awful taking her to that.
You won't catch me defending body shaming, but asking how much someone weighs before you physically pick them up seems, uh... Responsible? Especially if he's doing physical therapy or any kind of physical training, I'm sure he knows how much he can and can't lift. What if Blake weighed more than that? Would she have preferred he not know that, try to pick her up, and drop her?
YES! I'm a nurse and understanding weight is imperative to avoid injuries (or dropping and seriously injuring the other person) - all of which would shut down production completely as it was the 2 leads. This was such a dog whistle point and how I knew other points were likely exaggerations.
I personally don't understand why weight is such a big thing to people. I see the effect our society has on this, but on a more personal level, I just don't understand why it's a bad thing. Though I think what affects my view is that I'm fat - everyone can see I'm fat, so me telling my weight doesn't change anything. Weight is just such a neutral thing to me. It just doesn't matter other than for practical things.
Along with what others have said about Colleen Hoover, regarding her experience with abuse: in her notes at the end of It Ends With Us, she says that her parents divorced when she was three. She also said that she never witnessed the abuse firsthand and that her father never laid a finger on her. In fact, a lot of her notes are devoted to defending her father and saying he was a great man and a great father who did a bad thing.
@@triloization To put things into further perspective, in her author's notes she says that her father once hit her mother so hard that he *broke his knuckles against her skull*. And then proceeded to excuse and praise him for the rest of the notes. Hell, her mother barely gets any mention.
I haven’t read this book but when I was younger I read “Go Ask Alice” and it was really profound to me and scary but also beautiful in ways I wound not understand as toxic until much later and the air around this book/movie feels the same. People were genuinely touched and changed only to find out the author was a complete phony.
@@ebagentj So basically what you're saying is that CH has fantasized and romanticized so much about her absent abusive father that instead of supporting her mom who DIDN'T abandon her, she became and REMAINED an enabler. Not only an enabler but a bully, because she refuses to accept the men in her life should ever be held to account.
The thing about hitting your 30s as a woman, and the real reason I think it's considered "bad", is because your 30s and beyond are AWESOME and you are EMPOWERED AF, and you know yourself so well. Convinced that's the real reason it's treated like a bad thing, because women are so much more mature and powerful at 30 and beyond, and we're confident enough to not take anyone's BS. To anyone younger reading: 30+ is the best, you're gonna love it.
Genuinely curious, how much/in what way does it differ from being in ones twenties compared to their thirties? x -sincerely, a sad lil woman in their early 20’s lol
Honestly I feel this, in my early 20’s I was so dreading my 30’s. Now I’m 29 going on 30 and honestly I’m the most confident and myself I have ever been, I just know my 30’s will be it! That Jennifer Garner movie wasn’t kidding when they coined the phrase “Thirty, flirty, and thriving”!
I appreciate Justin for his attempts to make a serious representation of the dark themes of DV the story has. But Blake Lively... That girl very obviously only cares about making money and idk if she's just oblivious or straight up doesn't give a shit but her inability to respond with any sort of compassion about the subject is wild
The guy playing the ABUSER in the movie is the one who keeps putting the abuse survivors first; he's the one speaking about how he hopes the movie helps those who are in horrific situations in some way. It's surreal how the villain is actually a super cool person and the heroine is...well...Blake Lively.
I truly believe that Blake saw this as her opportunity to be seen as a SERIOUS actress, but wholly misunderstood that she'd also have to be serious when promoting the film as well. That she couldn't get away with only talking about the pretty clothes she wore.
It's almost like Collene Hoover was trying to humanise her abusive father which tbh is pretty standard for children who don't get therapy after them and the primary parent leaves the abusive home. It's like she's been told "daddy loves you so much, sometimes he doesn't like what mummy does or says" - which is all types if wrong
I get the focus is more on Blake Lively, but in the discussion of whether or not the people portraying this film are credible I think it's pretty important to note the writer of the book, Colleen Hoover, shamed a woman for being raped *by her own son*. That could have definitely caused conflict and why her, Blake, and Justin fell off. While I don't know Justin personally, if he is a true advocate and ally as he says he is, learning that Colleen Hoover raised and defended a rapist, would have burned a bridge. I feel that not including that part and making out Colleen Hoover to be someone who's a victim just trying to spread awareness through her books and the books just aren't everyone's cup of tea, is far off from the truth.
yeah, i think this first video from swoop where i’m like, damn. she really missed the mark on this one. colleen is not someone to be defended and i am grossly surprised that swoop did not do her due diligence to look into her a little more.
It's so interesting that Justin is the one talking about the abuse, while Blake only want to talk tea and flowers. It's almost like he's empathetic and she's... not.
Came in to the doc blind, saw a man, and instantly wondered what horrible thing he might have done. The fact that the answer seems to be ‘nothing, he’s a genuinely decent guy’ makes my heart feel so much lighter. Next time someone comes at me with a ‘not all men’ I’ll have to hit ‘em with the ‘you’re right, Justin Baldoni would never.’
16:28 The criticism of CoHo's writing isn't exactly that it's 'not everyone's cup of tea'. In many of her other books, she writes romantic relationships where the characters are abusive and her audience is meant to see them as romantic. I know it's a parent's responsibility to check what their teenagers are reading but a lot are just happy their kids are reading at all and CoHo has become popular among teenage girls. Impressionable people, young and old, are going to see these red flags in a relationship and just think they're roses.
Doesn't one of her books literally have an incestuous relationship in it but it pulls the "well they're step siblings actually" card like fr Colleen is just so weird. I don't rlly get what Swoop was going for w/ the whole "not everyone's cup of tea" argument like just because ppl are attached to it doesn't make it good or unharmful, theres a lot of people especially teenagers who get attached to work with rlly problematic abuse representation or that generally portrays serious subject matter in an either shallow or glorifying way. Maybe it makes them feel seen and comforted in the moment but rlly people deserve better fiction that doesn't spit in their face. They should seek out better material instead of uplifting something that only serves to hurt them and other victims.
@@chrisknudsen3395 yes it pulls the step sibling trope, I didn't read that one because that trope was not my cup of tea (using that phrase honestly I love this doc Swoop please keep making content!). I didn't read Slammed either because the romance is between a student and a teacher. That's a power balance I feel shouldn't be romanticized especially when the main character is a teenager. Hard pass. I have Verity on my TBR and I'm actually pretty excited to read that one.
Not to defend the practice of romanticizing abuse, but to be fair to CoHo, this tends to be an issue with romance fiction as a whole. A lot of the romance tropes we eat up would be incredibly messed up in real life. And it’s just as common in YA fiction, whether it was written by a teen or adult.
blake lively was one of those women who got WORSHIPPED like a saint by so many young girls from my generation, so it's very interesting to see her true colours coming out now
Really? I’ve never paid attention to her bcz she always came across like a highschool idiot mean girl 20 yrs later that’s exactly what she’s being called out for Being exactly who she comes across as. I’m stumped.
@@blammela OMG YES! Blake Lively was basically the Mother Theresa of SO many white women and girls, especially thanks to the show "GOSSIP GIRL" on the CW network! AND I distinctly remember someone calling Blake their "lord and savior" in a UA-cam video that I watched a few years ago! 🤦🏽♀
SO much controversy, we didn't even cover how Blake was rude to her co-star in gossip girl and just ruined her time on set. There are just so many videos I've seen of Blake being plain rude to her in public and I'm sure it was worse on set. It was just crazy how much attention she wanted for just herself so early in her career (and never apologized for)
Fame/power must really change people: If I hurt someone (and I think many are like me-I’m not special) I’m sick with regret, it eats at me. I don’t want to be a negative part of anyone’s day/life. And to move through life offending and not caring…I don’t get it.
Rachel Oates made a video about Slammed and its sequel which is a love story between a high schooler and her teacher. Colleen added no insightful commentary, no explanation on why it’s bad, just full endorsement of a freshly 18 year old dating a grown man à la Pretty Little Liars. Most of Colleens stories are about abuse, few don’t romanticize abuse. Id actually love if you did a deep dive on her because so many people claim that she only gets hate because shes a woman even though she writes about very harmful things in a positive light in the majority of her books.
This was what I was hoping Swoop would cover. Blake Lively isn't influencing young women to the degree this book and Colleen's others are and it's potentially very harmful.
Though I agree with the student teacher dynamic being wrong, the guy is 21 and the girl is 18, which is not as problematic as the pretty little liars situation. Also in PLL they have a whole secret relationship while they are still student and teacher, this is avoided in slammed. It’s not the best story but it’s not the most problematic thing either.
even if blake was tired of talking about her pregnancy, that still doesn’t give her the right to snap back at a person congratulating her pregnancy. that was completely uncalled for. being tired from interviews doesn’t give you a pass to be rude!
From the outside: It looks like they did Scarlett Johansson a favor. She’s seems to be remarried to someone better suited. At least he seems less obnoxious the RR.
I have so much respect for Justin Baldoni. He really puts so much effort into his films and thoroughly educates himself on the topic of his movies. He was working with a UA-cam creator with cystic fibrosis, Claire Wineland, to bring awareness to the disease before directing 5 Feet Apart. He’s such a cool person
As UA-camr Reads with Rachel has shown in her reviews, Hoover often writes the same romances over and over, she doesn’t do enough research, and refuses to put content warnings in her work (despite the upsetting topics) because she believes it would spoil the story. It’s as if Hoover thinks DV, SA, and more are _plot twists_. WTF. As such, overall, she doesn’t come across as a good writer or a nice person, and her promotional decisions (such as the coloring books) only seem to cement that. I’d say Hoover is as bad as Meyer and James.
I kinda get it. Sometimes, when you actually experience DV or SA, it feels like you're living a plot twist. You completely trust someone, think they're a good person, and then, without warning, they hurt you in a way that you didn't think they were capable of. Plot twist! It's why I liked it ends with us, even though it could have gone through a few rounds of editing. I related to falling in love with someone who seemed perfect and having the rug pulled from under you when they show themselves to be a monster.
Same! And it’s so disappointing, because I’ve really loved some of her movies. But I definitely attack movie to actors in real life, book to author in real life. And I can’t. For instance, I started the book We Need To Talk About Kevin and I soon found out the author is transphobic, I couldn’t finish the book. It bugs me. The question is, can art be separated from the artist, actor, or author? I think it’s a personal decision, and I can’t.
@noodlepoodlegirl if I find out someone is a bad person in general I'll be more cautious of supporting them going forward. I think you can separate the art from the artist in some cases, but not in most unfortunately
ngl i’m a certified colleen hoover hater. her writing makes me want to unlearn how to read, her stories are even worse and she’s such a terrible person
I kept wondering if Swoop has read it, because I feel traumatized by just knowing that awful book. I believe it does a huge disservice to readers by confusing and belittling the real psychology and dynamics involved in these kinds of relationships and does an extraordinarily poor job of addressing the whole ending the cycle aspect. Honestly, I feel like Blake Lively was perfect for this toxic tale. I was hoping Swoop would address that angle more because I believe that story is legitimately harmful... As well as extremely immature with writing that's total garbage. Which is hard to ignore and I want to harp on it so badly... but a book doesn't have to be good to be great. Harmful to your individual psychology and understanding of interpersonal relationships is where I draw the line. (But also not even a good trashy story.) I hate that book. I genuinely can't think of anything else I've read that I truly hate. I appreciate you all for not leaving me stewing in this alone, lol.
my bff who went through DV with me went and saw this movie. i had planned to see it the next day. she called me bawling and it sent her into such a dark spot. i think the way this movie was pushed as a rom-com was a disgusting choice and it was extremely disappointing.
Her belittling the DV survivors who talk to her is so wrong. Mariska Hargitay after playing Olivia Benson in SVU gets letters and does everything she can to help SA survivors. Blake just doesn't get what it means when you play someone you can relate to.

i don't think it's fair to say people who don't like colleen are just not liking her because they don't like her writing she's said some really weird and gross and awful stuff..... and her other books are uh...... interesting something to keep in mind i'm sure SOME people don't like her because they just don't enjoy her writing but plenty of people don't like her for valid reasons in one of her books, new parents are laughing about their child's genitals immediately before the baby DIES it's oh so funny 😬 she pretty much never lets a woman NOT get pregnant she DOES normalize abuse maybe THIS book makes sense for the abusive relationship, but most of them have abuse that's not called abuse it's something to look more into
The only real difference between Ryle and Colleen's other male leads is he's also physically abusive, the emotional abuse/manipulation is pretty universal
Verity, where the main character rubs one out after reading about a mom abusing her kids, or at minimum writing down fake fantasies of it. Repeatedly. And that's it, that's the whole book, cycling between those two scene types. That was when I knew she wasn't the author for me
This was so infuriating. Justin was the only one trying to talk about the actual subject matter and the importance of awareness and advocacy. Blake just wanted her Oppenhiemer moment and it was.....disgusting and tone deaf, and really second hand embarassing to watch.
Colleen Hoover LOVES romanising DV and SA in general. The fact that she dared to defend her son against an SA claim that she had no evidence on. Not only that… but, she called her a liar and continued to blame and shame a survivor and victim. I stand against Colleen and against Blake. I was a victim and now striving to be a survivor and heal. I don’t support those (especially women) who laugh in the face of us for our very real trauma. I genuinely think they internally and externally romanticise it and those people shouldn’t be given a platform of any kind.
Blake’s word salad reminds me of people who try to come off as intellectuals when they are just average. I can see trying to open the film, to draw an audience who normally wouldn’t go for this topic, or heavy emotional drama, but to use this particular film to launch your personal hair care line, is grotesque.

I feel a bit weird about how swoop really downplayed people’s gripes with Colleen Hoover and her books. It’s not just ‘my kind of tea’ it’s her constant romancing abuse and not labeling trigger warnings. There is very valid criticism but I am assuming that swoop’s team probably didn’t go far into the author.
Probably because this isn't about Colleen Hoover - this is a long documentary on Blake Lively being awful, not Colleen. I'm fairly certain if she decided to do the episode on Colleen, thered be more nuance.
I think we already knew why men harm. They do it because of entitlement and control and bitterness over unrealistic relationship expectations not being met. Reasons for staying can be more complex and vary according to the individual but trauma bonding usually plays a big role. Both questions are valid if you want to address the issue.
Just a little "fun" extra tea on the Boone Hall Plantation, part of touring the slave cabins includes an audio tour which is, for lack of better words, whitewashed with a power washer. Inside one of the slave cabins, one of the audio recordings talks about how small animal bones are often found inside and around the cabin. It explains how slaves would need to sneak out in the night to capture small animals to eat. The audio "conveniently" leaves out the teeny tiny detail how if these people were caught sneaking off they were most likely severely punished. The audio then even has the audacity to end with something along the lines of "so it turns out slaves might actually have eaten more calories than their white owners". The audio completely leaves out how slaves were FORCED to do this to SURVIVE because, oh yeah, they were doing all the labor of the plantation! I left disgusted and truly horrified at just how skewed and whitewashed the place continues to be. It's 2024 people. Do better.

Don't spoil the movie, but at least warn people about the hard theme of the movie, dont tell them to '' grab their friends and wear florals ''. OMG.
As a girl born and raised in the south, North Carolina what up!, (currently live in LA) what on EARTH is Blake's obsession with her "Gone With The Wind", South Carolina confederate dreams?? She's not even from the south!! She is from Calabasas' next door sis Tarzana! What is with the Cali girls faking our down home culture but with the absolutely WORST parts of the history of the south. (Tell me you think colored people are only 3/5 of a person without telling me you think we're only a fraction of a person...)
It feels like Justin had genuine intentions with this movie but, like with her books, Colleen didn't want to disclose that there was DV and SA present within the film. She doesn't like listing triggers, she doesn't want to ruin the "twists" and it's always been disgusting to me. I'm really glad that Justin was upfront with the themes and wanted to be truthful with the presentation of the movie. On the other hand, I'm rather disappointed with the way Blake handled it. Whether she was following the directions of Colleen or even agreed with the way she wanted to market the movie, I don't care. It's disturbing to watch her promote the movie like it's the "Love Story" of the year when it's actually the complete opposite. If it does turn out that every big name who worked on this movie unfollowed Justin BECAUSE of the promotional discrepancies it wouldn't surprise me. Unfortunately with everything I've seen already it just feels like it's a matter of time.
this is what I was thinking after reading the comments. Justin seems like a genuine green flag, whereas the author and other actors seem like a hot mess.
Unfortunately EVERYTHING is about politics. Blake is connected with Ryan, who at this point in time is one of the biggest stars on the planet. Someone who can get you connected with some of the top tier people in the entertainment industry, as long as you stay on Blake’s good side. Justin on the other hand is just starting to rise with his directing career. And people criticising Justin for getting a Crisis management PR Firm in when rumours started coming out, you would do exactly the same if you could afford to do so if someone with more power and wealth was trying to destroy your reputation in an industry you rely upon to earn your living.
I’m not surprised Colleen Hoover was on the Blake side of the press tour. She always promotes her books as romances. It was so triggering having Colleen talked nicely about. I read one book of hers and it triggered my PTSD HORRIBLY the way she romanticized violence! A dude rapes his romantic interest and somehow it’s written like it’s Romantic that she doesn’t stop him and he keeps going? What the hell?! Yet it could have been focused on how women will freeze in these situations and how it’s not their fault this happens.
Yep. Read this book a few years ago, and i couldn’t believe what I read. It felt very weird… am I supposed to like this story line? Am I supposed to find this… sexy and desirable? And I closed the book and never looked back. I knew it was very toxic and I do not want to read any romance that thinks that those things are okay. If it’s meant to be a cautionary tale, the characters or at least the way she tells the story should be clear enough to the readers. Hers was not.😊
Another creater I follow who reviews books said something along the lines of..."It would be fine, if the behavior that is abusive is understood as such. She may not realize it but we should. It should be clear to US that this behavior is wrong. Colleen doesn't do that. She wants us all to wear rose colored glasses and that's the problem." She said it about this book and I agree wholeheartedly as a writer and a survivor myself.
I thought that Blake's promotion of the movie was as out of touch eith reality as she always is. She lives in s very privileged, fantasy world where slavery isnt an issue, because she's not black, DV isn't an issue, because she's never been a victim and being horribly mean girlish and cruel isn't an issue because she's never been bullied. She's too vapid for my tastes. Also, she has a daughter named Betty. Did she name the booze after her daughter, or vice versa? Either way, it's weird.
@@hollyroseXOX Gee, I don't know. Didn't someone once say that those who ignore history are doomed to repeat it? And repeat it does, all over the world, including through human trafficking.
@@hollyroseXOX there is still slavery happening right now in our world. Slavery is legal if you are a prisoner in the US. Don't go around saying things you don't know about or you look worse than ignorant.
10 years later, and I’m just starting the hard healing process. Please know you are all worthy of the peace and self love that comes from the healing process.
Blake is an actress and not every actress is equipped to have profound things to say about the movies she does. That being said, there’s „having nothing smart to say” and then there’s „using a movie about domestic abuse to promote your shampoo and hubby’s silly superhero flick”.
I LOVE that you referred to it as a “silly superhero flick”, because that’s literally all it was. She and Ryan wanted Barbenheimer with these two movies, but where Barbie and Oppenheimer were actually deep movies with complex themes… one of THESE movies was a trap for DV victims, and the other was completely mindless and stupid.
I don't think anyone expected profound, but she should have had an idea what the movie was about. It definitely wasn't a "grab your girlfriends and wear your florals" movie.
As a born-in-the-south, still-lives-in-the-south woman (who is primarily white, so I know I don't necessarily have room to speak on this) I cannot stand this celebration of "tradition"... a.k.a. racism. And calling it tradition as an excuse. "Well, we've always done it this way." That's not good enough for me. I know that one can celebrate style and architecture of history and not have the same ideals of the time. I love historical fashion. I love going to Renaissance Festivals and dressing up. But I come to it with an educated understanding of the culture of the time, and how devastating that is to people of color. Even and especially today. I get wanting to find beauty in tragedies... but you have to do it while still RESPECTING the tragedy and not trying to erase it.
I hate her books so much, like ever time I see someone recomming books and her books are on the list I do not trust them anymore. Her movie also showed of had a big trigger warning on it.
I only watched very detailed reviews of her books November 9 and Verity and these were already messed up as hell. I can only imagine how bad her other books must be. As a very naive autistic teenager, I would have been too blind to see all the red flags. Instead, I would have thought this kind of stuff was normal. Parents should watch out what their kids are reading because romanticizing abusive and toxic behavior can cause damage that takes a long time to fix.
Thank you for the doc! While I was aware of most of the controversies regarding Blake, I didn't know just how much Justin Baldoni did as an advocate through this film. None of the other videos on the topic mentioned it, and the guy seems genuinely amazing! I am looking forward to his future projects from now on.
On the ageism in Hollywood, Dear Evan Hansen was a really bad example on audiences not caring if grown men play teenagers, because EVERYONE cared for that one movie. Like, it's really true, but that one movie is a really bad example
I honestly never understood why Colleen Hoover was so popular on booktok. I'll admit, I was influenced to read a lot of her books and disliked all of them. I kept trying to give her a chance because so many people seemed to like her books. I felt like I was going crazy, like I was the only one who didn't like her books. It's honestly a relief to know that I'm not the only one who was put off by her.
The online book community has so many people speaking up against her books. Caleb Jacob here on UA-cam was the first person to bring her to my attention. His last video was his online “beef” with her. Funny kid, shame he doesn’t have time to make more videos now. I also like Alizee, who makes in depth book reviews, going chapter by chapter. Her Colleen book ones are great because I don’t have to read them and she reads aloud most of the books anyways. In one of her reviews, she mentioned that Hoover books are liked by people who didn’t have a fanfiction phase in their teens and it suddenly made so much sense to me. Colleen Hoover writes the way teenage girls write fan fiction (I should know, I was one of them.) It’s something one outgrows when they read more. Unfortunately, Colleen has been writing for about 12 years now and all her books sound the same. It makes me wonder if she even reads in her spare time.
I find it sooooo ironic that the one person who is the most involved in discussing the topic of domestic violence depicted in the book and the movie is the actor/director who is playing the role of the abuser, and not the author herself of the actress playing the role of the victim. Kudos to Justin for actually giving a shit compared to the other two who are clearly in it just for the money
Regardless of your body type if someone needs to lift you up it shouldn’t be a surprise for them to ask how heavy you are. It’s not an insult it’s a safety precaution to make sure both parties are safe during that stunt (yes picking someone up in a scene regardless of the pick up is considered a stunt as it can lead to injuries if done incorrectly)
Yeah, exactly! There's a reason you're supposed to rehearse them and do them in a specific way for stage and screen (and there's a reason I got handed the lifts when I used to act, lol).
This coming from a woman who is 5'10" and wears 4" heels that screams "look at me" is in no way insecure about her weight or shape, nor should she be, but to use an innocent question against a kind guy is just more villain than victim.
So many people are understandably hating on Blake but Ryan is also pretty dodgy. I'm from Australia and even I knew a plantation wedding is disrespectful. What's next? Renewing your vows in NYC where the twin towers collapsed?
I'm from NYC and am old enough to remember 9/11. I would genuinely prefer to see vow renewals at the 9/11 memorial SO much more than seeing anyone do a plantation wedding. 9/11 is NOTHING compared to the horrors of American slavery and the plantation system.

I’m pretty shocked about Swoops coverage and tone towards Colleen. Especially with her victim blaming history and other disgusting behavior. She defended her rapist son and shamed his victim. Missed the mark with this one… hopefully unintentionally…..
I actually don’t think she ruined her career as such but she’s has put a noticeable dent in her image but she’s one of those actors that has a very strong chance of recovering from it in the next 5 to 10 years or months in my opinion/speculation unless she has a connection to p diddy then my earlier speculation would go out the window .
Regarding trigger warnings on film I think they are totally necessary 100%. Shows like 13 reasons why and Outlander had me stricken with fear and in PTSD episodes for days. My Dr had to give me a prescription to calm down after that shit. Just put it with the rating or something, “Rated x, Trigger Warning X” like it’s so easy and could be really fucking helpful and in some cases life saving
Outlander 100% had me hyperventilating and shaking, I love the storyline but no one warned me about what happened to Jamie in that prison cell. You are so right about 13 reasons why too, beyond triggering. 😢
After following this drama in real time and now revisiting it through your doc, I can't help but wonder if we're entitled to an explanation behind the tension between Baldoni and the other actors. On the one hand, I don't think we're entitled to know what these people think about each other. On the other hand, they (everyone but Baldoni) are leaving hints and acting messy and alluding to the fact that they don't like him. Meanwhile, he's nothing but gracious in interviews, even crediting Ryan Reynolds for his dubious rewrites of certain scenes. The only concrete thing we heard was that Baldoni asked his trainer how much Lively weighs and if he could lift that due to his back problems. Allegedly, anyway. And allegedly, this was "fatphobic" as Lively had recently given birth and was insecure about her weight. I could have a scene where I'm meant to carry a 60lb dog, and without back problems, I'd need to ask the same question. Am I being fatphobic to a dog? All that we're left with is that she is insecure and petty and has a hunger for control and is tone deaf in a really cringeworthy way. Meanwhile, he keeps his messages true to the spirit of the book/film, so if there's something wrong with Baldoni... I almost wonder if the public IS entitled to an explanation. But I guess the drama and the mystery are what is selling this film.
She's always had a bad reputation as far as having this mean rich-girl entitlement because that's how she grew up. Now that her & Ryan are this powerful team, she seems to take full advantage of the control that being part of a couple with powerful connections carries.
Why I don’t like Coho but there’s nothing wrong with liking her books (spoilers) 1. (As others mentioned) Defending her son committing SA on a girl at 16 y/o 2. In her book Nov. 9th: she romanticizes a guy burning the main character’s house down, leaving her with scars, s*xualizing those burns, possibly SA and so on 3. In the sequel of it Ends with us, Lily allows her abuser to coparent her child after all the actions in the first book/movie 4. Nearly all/pretty much all of her female characters have little to no personality. Their lives pretty much doesn’t matter except for traumas and men. Again. Nothing wrong with enjoying her books but I personally don’t but I don’t like this trend in booktok where we just like toxic “romances”. Especially the “dark” ones like Haunting Adeline. There’s proof this desensitized smut does stuff to people’s brains y’all. Personally Colleen isn’t for me and imo her romances would often be better as thrillers like Verity.
5. her very first book Slammed had a high school student dating her teacher, and this state of affairs was accepted and romanticized; they are the main couple and live HEA and as an addendum to #2, what infuriated me the absolute most is that the book ends with HER being forced to apologize to HIM for being upset about what he did to her and that he lied to her about it for years; the fact that her own mother shames her for not wanting anything to do with him.......ooh, my rage will never end.
"If it brings back the memories of what was real to you and it feels real now, then what is the difference." Remembering past painful events from watching media is very real, and is exactly, it's why there are certain movies or shows I can't watch because they do this to me from traumatic things I've experianced. Stuff like this is very real, and I hate it when I tell someone I can't watch X show they recomended because of Y reason and they act as if I am making something out of nothing.
I am a domestic violence and sexual assault advocate. I am also a survivor. I continued to hear the horrific triggers my clients had due to this movie. No warnings!! So I watched it and I was horrified as well. But hey the colors and floral were fabulous.
I didn't know this movie was about DV when I kept seeing ads for it until the backlash after Blake's interview. I got out of a DV marriage - took years to leave. Took even longer (just a few months ago) to cut off all contact with my ex-husband. If I went to see this film in the midst of trying to heal, I'd have been a wreck and maybe relapsed back into alcohol. Good thing it was advertised as a romcom and I hate romcoms.
1:19:17 so.. hot take. I'm a DV and SV survivor. I think they should have searched for a survivor to portray Lilly. Cause only we know what it's like. And this is what happens when you cast someone with no sympathy, or even empathy. It feels like it's a joke to her, quickly money.
Same here! When Blake was going on about how she wouldn't react the same way I was thinking -exactly- we don't respond the same in similar situations BECAUSE of what we went through.
This was totally Blake's way to "be taken serious" and to get an Oscar nomination. But she is so tone deaf and a not-so great actor that she completely messed it all up. But I think that is why she was so controlling over the whole production. She was doing this project for selfish reasons, unlike Justin
As a fellow survivor of SA and DV, thank you for this. Been following the drama around this film since it was announced and not enough people are calling out this long pattern of toxic behavior and the impact it has on audiences/society. The way she downplayed the story in this film is beyond tone deaf, it's dangerous.
“I’ve never gone through domestic violence so of course I think I can portray the character authentically” “grab your florals and friends and go see this movie!” OKAY THEN WTF. I will say based on the interviews I NEVER knew this was a movie about DV until she started getting backlash. As someone who HAS gone through it I may have gone and seen it and I would have never known until that first fight scene. Damn. Hate all of this, big slap in the face to survivors.
It seems a lazy reply from her, as well. Isn't the point of acting truly stepping into the character and understanding them and their experience? Surely she could speak at least to that...
@@LittleMissLionYou can see interviews with Julia Roberts about her role in Sleeping with the Enemy. She told that she was never in an abusive relationship and she is very good in that movie. She was so respectful and toughtful in those interviews. She told that she had a rescue dog who was affraid of human touch and always had a strong reaction to their hands. She had empathy for an abused animal and build up the role from that. Like acting…. (and they didnt promote that movie as a romcom to have financial success…)
I know Drew Gooden made a video about it, but if you haven't watched Christmas Mail you're missing out. It's easily my favorite bad Christmas movie, 1000000/10
The extra level of care Justin put into this movie is what makes the failures of Blake and Colleen so disappointing. Had they stepped up to his level this could have been something so much more but they seemed to want to reduce it to the sexy romance movie of the summer and keep the violence as a twist in the story instead of the central focus. I really hope Justin continues to make movies with this level of care.
I didn't know about this situation, or either of the actors... but seeing the clips you shared of Justin, it's so obvious this was the passion product of a man who holds more depth than 90% of Hollywood... only for Blake to make it a slumber party about herself. He has every right to be upset.
@AdamButcher-n4d lol di you work for Blake Lively because youv@ everyone to force your opinions on them. We know Blake is an a hole so that's very clear.
Blake completely butchered the promotion of this movie and spat on all of Justin’s hard work and effort. The only thing he did wrong was casting her as Lilly Bloom. And also, Colleen can go Eff herself for defending her SAing son, and just brushing off the DV. It’s crazy that she used her experience from her parents relationship and still completely missed the mark on making victims feel seen. She just made this book as a cash grab. Justin was just trying to portray victims stories to bring awareness. I hope he gets better press and casting for his next movie. I hope he gets another movie. He’s one of the good ones.
Wow. So I had no info on this movie and the drama surrounding it. I had absolutely NO IDEA this movie was about DV. I 100% thought It Ends With Us was just a fun romcom, but with some kind of twist. Your doc, this is how I found out. Wow, thank you again, for informing me Swoop

Random FYI- Bigelow Tea renamed "Plantation Mint" to "Perfectly Mint" not sure if they got direct backlash or decided to get ahead of bad PR, but it was quietly done about the same time as the Aunt Jemima and Uncle Ben branded items changed their names. There was a message on the box about the name change and why (changing times/sensitivity ect)
It was a well-known fact that Blake demanded that Justin let her choose the ending to the movie!!! He couldn't change it just to please her as the ending would not make sense and it was too delicate a topic to play around with. She turned the entire cast against him, as well as some reporters, critics and social media channels, and stated that she would refuse to promote the film (or would do so in the most vague way) unless he gave her what she wanted. Justin stood firm though, while she gave the most abysmal interviews. She was disgustingly rude to many, if not most, reporters which were recorded ... so I don't know where you were looking, because there's tons of footage out there with Blake Lively making an absolute a$$ out of herself! Your lack of Blake's interview footage in order to present a balanced case, could perhaps be due to the fact that so much time has gone by and perhaps more digging would have been required. Unfortunately, someone like her (with Ryan), would have, by now, made a lot of it disappear.

I have so much respect for Justin for trying to keep this story sensitive as it can be. I have grown up able to empathize with victims through my own trauma of growing up neurovaried, so i can only imagine how upsetting it can be to see the lead actress not treat this story and her audience with the same respect.
But then why pick this book? There is surely better source material from less fractious sources eh? The whole thing is weird.
That's been my main thought/feeling when it comes to all of this, as well. Sad:(
honestly, the issue isn’t even the book itself - it’s the casting choice. justin could've done so much for dv survivors and he really cared. blake lively is talented, but she just doesn’t fit the vibe of lily bloom from the book. it feels like hollywood went for big names rather than sticking to the raw, relatable essence of the character. coleen hoover’s story deserves a real, grounded portrayal, and i’m not sure this casting does it justice., it’s not the book that’s the issue - it’s how hollywood is handling the adaptation. it ends with us resonated because it told a painful, authentic story about resilience and healing. but casting blake lively changes the tone completely, making it feel less raw and more polished. by prioritizing star power over character accuracy, they risk losing the very heart of lily’s story. fans wanted to see the lily they connected with on the page, not just a famous face.

Shaming a man for showing his emotions when Justin actually has a podcast that deals with toxic masculinity... I can see why Justin would not get along with Blake.
It's a lot of times really cringe overreaching.
Stuff like this is why I'm so hesitant on working on my scripts for projects that tackle issues that are this important. And I'm expanding on what to talk about. Female and male survivors.

You'll see.
That’s great but he should be trying to reach both man and women. I’ve seen plenty of women get away with abuse because it’s not frowned upon as much.
@@charissa6648yes! Common sense has entered
The attempted Barbenheimer.
She even had the dress 🤢
You won't catch me defending body shaming, but asking how much someone weighs before you physically pick them up seems, uh... Responsible? Especially if he's doing physical therapy or any kind of physical training, I'm sure he knows how much he can and can't lift. What if Blake weighed more than that? Would she have preferred he not know that, try to pick her up, and drop her?
Yeah, like if I go to my boss and say that I need to have a new pair of work pants. He would need to ask for my size.
YES! I'm a nurse and understanding weight is imperative to avoid injuries (or dropping and seriously injuring the other person) - all of which would shut down production completely as it was the 2 leads. This was such a dog whistle point and how I knew other points were likely exaggerations.
Yeah, she could've sued💃🏾
Could you imagine? He goes to pick her up, drops her and just says "Too heavy, we're not doing this scene" 😂 THE DRAMA that would come out
I personally don't understand why weight is such a big thing to people.
They call you Swoop because when I get the notification you posted I swoop on over

Damn. Nothing but net.
She is the ultimate pick me
@@triloization To put things into further perspective, in her author's notes she says that her father once hit her mother so hard that he *broke his knuckles against her skull*. And then proceeded to excuse and praise him for the rest of the notes. Hell, her mother barely gets any mention.
that is disgusting

AGREED.... I just want my 20 something face back!
@caseytenney2150 guess you're not experiencing less insecurities in your 30+ years:(
Genuinely curious, how much/in what way does it differ from being in ones twenties compared to their thirties? x

THIS. I refuse to see the movie because of how she acted. Which is a shame because Justin is an ENTIRE snack 🤤
@@DaysieRose he really is so attractive 😂 I guess we'll have to live with watching him in his previous works
entitled and privileged that's it. disconnected from other's struggles.
She defended her son, who SA'd a MINOR... And in every book she has written, she has glamourised SA...So I can't pity her.

Lets wait and see how well this post ends.
@@ouwebrood497Looks like it's going right for Justin :))
Sorry for the long paragraph I'm 100% agreeing with you just also adding some of my thoughts lol
@@uniraffesaur that's something I wouldn't know as romance is a genre I have moved away from. Thanks for informing me

@strawberryskygirl44 as a person of color who was horribly made fun of by girls like Blake, I'm happy she's showing her true colors.
And when I mean like Blake I mean personality wise. Just to clarify
SO much controversy, we didn't even cover how Blake was rude to her co-star in gossip girl and just ruined her time on set. There are just so many videos I've seen of Blake being plain rude to her in public and I'm sure it was worse on set. It was just crazy how much attention she wanted for just herself so early in her career (and never apologized for)
Leighton became the fan fave of that show, that's why. She made Blake the second lead in her own show 💀
Fame/power must really change people: If I hurt someone (and I think many are like me-I’m not special) I’m sick with regret, it eats at me.
I'd love to see a Colleen Hoover deep dive too!
I’d argue she is more worthy of a doc than Blake. Blake is awful, yes, but Hoover is SO MUCH more toxic and frankly dangerous.
@@RightsForZombiesbig agree. I’d love to see Swoops coverage on Colleen’s books.

Also Penn!
Scarlett seems like a wonderful person. The SNL fella won the love lottery
Yes! I love Reads With Rachel! She is incredible. Her continuous application of pressure to colleen hoover and her shitty books is admirable.
imo the three of them are bad but Colleen Hoover is the worst (due to the content of her books)

(But also not even a good trashy story.)

my bff who went through DV with me went and saw this movie. i had planned to see it the next day. she called me bawling and it sent her into such a dark spot. i think the way this movie was pushed as a rom-com was a disgusting choice and it was extremely disappointing.
Her belittling the DV survivors who talk to her is so wrong. Mariska Hargitay after playing Olivia Benson in SVU gets letters and does everything she can to help SA survivors. Blake just doesn't get what it means when you play someone you can relate to.
Sounds to me like Justin actually understood his role while Blake Lively pretty woefully doesn’t, as is apparently her wont.

As a victim of dv from my own mom I love you I fled it just wasn’t with a partner but I am here for you !!!
My friend asked me to go see it with her because she was a fan! Im glad I follow some tea channels and was able to convince her to see something else!!! She had no idea and as a victim im pretty sure she wasnt ready for it. I feel so bad for the women who followed her since GG or the sisterhood and were confronted by this. Don't spoil the movie, but at least warn people about the hard theme of the movie, dont tell them to '' grab their friends and wear florals ''. OMG.
Ive experienced emotional abuse and jesus i had to pause and deep breath threw the discription. Id never go see it
As a girl born and raised in the south, North Carolina what up!, (currently live in LA) what on EARTH is Blake's obsession with her "Gone With The Wind", South Carolina confederate dreams??
Exactly
She wants us all to wear rose colored glasses and that's the problem."
She said it about this book and I agree wholeheartedly as a writer and a survivor myself.
Swoop casually showing a multitude of mugs is chef's kiss ✨✨. Absolutely need the huge "I limit myself to one cup of coffee a day", mug.
Either way, it's weird.
so true!!
is slavey an issue in your world?
@@hollyroseXOX Gee, I don't know. Didn't someone once say that those who ignore history are doomed to repeat it? And repeat it does, all over the world, including through human trafficking.
@@hollyroseXOX there is still slavery happening right now in our world. Slavery is legal if you are a prisoner in the US. Don't go around saying things you don't know about or you look worse than ignorant.

Can we take a moment to applaud the contribution of the humble tea cup in this presentation? Nothing says snark like a rapidly enlarging cup of tea.

10 years later, and I’m just starting the hard healing process. Please know you are all worthy of the peace and self love that comes from the healing process.
Love you, sister. Thank you. 💙🫂
Thank you. Wishing you all the love and peace in the world! ❤
It definitely wasn't a "grab your girlfriends and wear your florals" movie.
her hair made her famous and her attitude made her in infamous
Nah let’s be real she is has famous has she is because whom she’s married too

I am a Virgo and Blake using that as an excuse really pissed me off. Stop using your zodiac sign to excuse shitty behavior.
No one is a virgo because astrology isn’t real
I can't get through her books at all and that's only happened to me 2 times in 60 years of being an avid reader.
Check out Alizee on here. She goes over her books and others, and will give them the critiques they deserve!
Never read any of her books. Never will.
Her books should have trigger warnings too!!!
That was so cringe too
To be fair, I don't know anyone who liked him playing Evan in the movie, including musical/movies youtubers. That said, the bias absolutely exists!
Don't forget the horror that was Twilight and 50 Shades.... There is a clear history of people loving these tone deaf stories.
that’s what undisclosed advertisements on social media will do to ya! stay aware yall ✨
It’s not that serious
@@Optimiss93 “It’s not that serious”..to you, Optimiss93.
I'm from NYC and am old enough to remember 9/11. I would genuinely prefer to see vow renewals at the 9/11 memorial SO much more than seeing anyone do a plantation wedding. 9/11 is NOTHING compared to the horrors of American slavery and the plantation system.
Renewing your vows in NYC isn’t bad. The plantation wedding was horrible though
@@Optimiss93 both places were sites of extreme emotional and physical human suffering and death at the whims of other humans, en masse. Having a celebration party at such a place is like dancing on a grave. Please explain how one is less serious than other, because I don't understand.
I’m pretty shocked about Swoops coverage and tone towards Colleen.
Especially with her victim blaming history and other disgusting behavior.
She defended her rapist son and shamed his victim.
Missed the mark with this one… hopefully unintentionally…..
Swoop probably has a Colleen Hoover video in the works.
What's wild is that it isn't just part of the rating. Usually the rating has a reason, that information should be right there in the same box.
Outlander 100% had me hyperventilating and shaking, I love the storyline but no one warned me about what happened to Jamie in that prison cell. You are so right about 13 reasons why too, beyond triggering. 😢
@@artmusicloveandwordsif you haven’t continued outlander please know there is an equally awful scene with Claire later in the series
Why I don’t like Coho but there’s nothing wrong with liking her books (spoilers)
1. (As others mentioned) Defending her son committing SA on a girl at 16 y/o
2. In her book Nov. 9th: she romanticizes a guy burning the main character’s house down, leaving her with scars, s*xualizing those burns, possibly SA and so on
3. In the sequel of it Ends with us, Lily allows her abuser to coparent her child after all the actions in the first book/movie
5. her very first book Slammed had a high school student dating her teacher, and this state of affairs was accepted and romanticized; they are the main couple and live HEA
and as an addendum to #2, what infuriated me the absolute most is that the book ends with HER being forced to apologize to HIM for being upset about what he did to her and that he lied to her about it for years; the fact that her own mother shames her for not wanting anything to do with him.......ooh, my rage will never end.

Wouldn’t that be too triggering for the survivor
@mel-pd8tf you'd have to find the right person/ provide support for them when it's needed.
Same here! When Blake was going on about how she wouldn't react the same way I was thinking -exactly- we don't respond the same in similar situations BECAUSE of what we went through.
Wel, at least they casted a real abuser, so that's something.
@@ouwebrood497Ha! Nice! 😂
The second I got the notification that Swoop uploaded, Im here for it!!!

The nosejob seemed to do something to her brain

Thank goodness for Justin Baldoni mansplaining how women should feel about DV.
I didn't know about this situation, or either of the actors... but seeing the clips you shared of Justin, it's so obvious this was the passion product of a man who holds more depth than 90% of Hollywood... only for Blake to make it a slumber party about herself. He has every right to be upset.
That's so funny if you actually knew how unliked he is by people that actually work on the movie. i.e the camera operators, sound engineers, etc.
Given that Colleen Hoover is involved in some way, I knew this was going to be a shit show.
Swoop, you knocked it out of the park with this deep dive! I was in it from beginning to end. You have the willingness to talk about and research important topics that make people feel uncomfortable in order to recover the truth behind the scenes. It needs to be said! I can’t wait for your next release ❤
You're giving too much grace to Colleen Hoover and her writing
I think because they're both DV survivors she's a little biased
Random FYI- Bigelow Tea renamed "Plantation Mint" to "Perfectly Mint" not sure if they got direct backlash or decided to get ahead of bad PR, but it was quietly done about the same time as the Aunt Jemima and Uncle Ben branded items changed their names. There was a message on the box about the name change and why (changing times/sensitivity ect)
It was a well-known fact that Blake demanded that Justin let her choose the ending to the movie!!!
He couldn't change it just to please her as the ending would not make sense and it was too delicate a topic to play around with.
She turned the entire cast against him, as well as some reporters, critics and social media channels,
and stated that she would refuse to promote the film (or would do so in the most vague way) unless he gave her what she wanted.
Lmao, I’m sorry, I know the subject matter here is serious. But I’m 4:46 into the video and the names “Ryle Kincaid” and “Atlas Corrigan” are fucking sending me 😂😂😂😂
