Such a perfect representation of childhood memories. Completely lost in the moment until someone gets a ninja star in the eye and all of a sudden walls of reality come crashing down
we used to use cut off (is that how you say it) tin can tops (the ones where you use a can opener) and throw them as ninja stars. you may be too young, but were completely emulating the Kung Fu Matinee /Theater movies we used to watch. late 70s early 80s.
That’s what makes it so hilarious it’s all make believe until they get carried away and actually hurt each other lmao

@@rickoshay5525 we used the cans with the strings for communicatiion in our war simulations lol. for the ninja/kung fu stuff closest we had, is we would fill up a newspaper page with dusty dirt, and that was our smoke bomb lol, it would tear up on impact so it worked its purpose. lol
That’s why this scene hands down Is one of the best in the entire show
I like how all the other kids used their weapons like magic wands, and then Kenny just straight uses his for its intended purpose

Yup. There was always the one kid who wouldn't abide by the informally established rules, which would ruin it (whatever it was at the time) for everyone.
For real! This definitely took me back to when I was a kid. It was always the youngest kid that got hurt and everyone else was freaking out about getting into trouble lmao

A prefect representation of childhood. Everyone has fun pretending to fight until one kid gets hurt and starts crying. Then everyone else gets in trouble.
There's a few more steps to that. You pretend to fight, one kid gets hurt, starts crying, you spend a while trying to calm them down, the kid cries louder for some reason, the parents hear, they come over to see what happened, you try to explain to them but they don't listen, you get in trouble

Nah, literally every kid in my neighborhood who we played pretend with was like that. When we pretended to be Pokemon, they always wanted to be legendary Pokemon instead of regular Pokemon. I told one kid he couldn't be Mewtwo, he had to be a normal Pokemon like my brother and I, so the kid said he was a Ditto and transformed into Mewtwo.

This episode is a classic. It can prove that rough play with kids can sometimes go too far, and that keeping a secret about an accident that happened only makes things worse.
We've all been there, kids are terrified about getting in trouble, especially if they have super-strict parents that won't hesitate to literally kick their asses the second they did something wrong.
Oh snap I actually threw a stone in a friend's eye once, he had to go to the doctor, I knew his mom and she came to the school furious as hell. I Felt really bad bruh
It also parodies how many people are more outraged over sex than children being killed / hurt

@@Swelly_K One time me and my brother were playing with some kid, at one point we decided to get on our bikes, but the kid had the idea of just chasing us on foot, at one point he pulled my brother off his moving bike, and he hit his head in the pavement, luckily it was just a scratch so we helped him wash it off on the sidewalk and never told anyone, i'm surprised no one stopped by to question it
Two notes,
1: This is so relatable to that time EVERY kid has gone through at least once where they know they fucked up and wonder how they are going to explain to the parents
2: Poor butters, nobody even cared about his eye, it was all just for a wardrobe malfunction joke, which at the time, was pretty hilarious.
about number 2, that was the point, they are trying to show that people care more about nudity than violence.

The fact that Butters still likes Kenny and holds him in high regards despite this is pretty nice of him.
This is honestly a pretty good representation of what it was like to play like this as kids. You get caught up in the moment and the fantasy right up until someone took it too far, hurt someone for real and reality came crashing back

This is really one of the few moments when Kyle fully agrees with Cartman to solve their common problem, throwing back their personal relationship.

This is my favorite episode because it actually happened with me and my friends. We secretly bought a bunch of ninja weapons with our paper route money. One day during a sword fight, I sliced my friend’s finger and it wouldn’t stop bleeding. We went through a whole roll of paper towels but wouldn’t tell our parents because we didn’t want to lose our weapons. We bandaged his hand up and he was miraculously able to keep it hidden from his parents until it healed. He still has the scar!

I was in like 10th grade when this aired for the first time. When poor Butters started wailing with the star in his eye, I laughed so hard I woke the whole house up.
