Jon is STILL incredible, LONG after many singers of the unmatched 70s progressive era could no longer sing, or had faded away. Yes has ALWAYS been, and will ALWAYS be my favorite band of all time. RIP Chris Squire, and may his wish for Yes to continue for ALL time come true.

It's called the cult of Yes.They are sort of like the comic books, science fiction or fantasy of rock n roll. How many other bands have had conventions and festivals involving them? Some but not many.

      It's cause he's a true natural tenor.
Robert Plant was actually a baritone with a ripping high register who damaged his voice trying to imitate Steve Marriott.
Jon Anderson, on the other hand, was a magical elf with a true tenor voice. He almost never uses a falsetto on lead vocals which is just insane with the notes he can still hit live.
When Yes performed at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame he hit notes that were higher than the original recording of Roundabout🤯

I saw him at his Pittsburgh date for this tour and got to meet him beforehand, and I do not exaggerate when I say that Jon is one of the kindest, gentlest people whose presence I have ever been in. I was so nervous, but as soon as he said hello and hugged me I felt more calm than I had in ages. He listened to me babble on, he was appreciative of my thanking him for his work, and he even signed my copy of Olias! I will never, ever forget that magical moment.

Jon's story of his first 'physical' meeting with his wife is much like how the love of my life and I met. I 'saw' her in a waking vision a year before we met. And she and I connected so intensely with the Ladder (If only you knew, etc. ) and Magnification. My sweet Pamela passed this past November from cancer. I believe it was Jon (and the rest of the guys) who made it possible for us to meet. Jon is a beautiful soul, thanks Jon, for everything.

It would have been nice if Squire's wishes had been carried out tho, don't you think? Maybe a man's deathbed wishes for his own life long band are a bit more important than thrilling Rush fans?? And his wishes were for Yes to carry on and to do so with Billy Sherwood (and not Geddy Lee) on bass. So a one off for the HOF gig is fine. But Sherwood should have been allowed to play on Owner at least. But Anderson and Wakeman didnt allow it. And that tells me a lot about how they are as human beings.

@@donutcookiepie They wanted Geddy Lee, and who wouldn't? Deathbed wishes shouldn't actually mean much of anything, but go look at their current lineup-which includes Billy Sherwood on bass. So your judging Anderson and Wakeman as human beings because they'd rather play with Geddy Lee than Billy Sherwood at the Hall of fame?

Like many of us who have dodged the reapers bullets, he is happy to be alive as many of us are in our 70's.... and his creative cup is just overflowing. I hope you get the call, Jon, you and Steve are brothers of a different mother. Happy to see you so open minded to a reunion again. It could be epic.

Jon Anderson just broke up another Yes (featuring anderson Wakeman and Rabin), why are people so eager to get him back into Yes, so they can, in his model, make one more "great" album (they didn't like the last batch of songs he submitted when he was last in the band), do a final great tour and wrap it up? I have seen Yes 3 times with Anderson, and 3 times with Davison. I'm going to see Yes with Davison again this year. I've somehow managed to avoid all of Anderson's other projects, and I don't feel like I've missed a thing. Yes is great as they are, don't let Anderson back in to mess everything up again!

@@mattlove1 good points all. I think YES will be a band in the 22nd century and certainly all will be replaced as we all will. But there is a timelessness to some of their music IMO, Close, Topographic and parts of other albums. Very unique, melodic and lasting music. I might be biased by having seen them many times since 1971-2 and in a mental state that transfixed my mind at the time. Now from a mature perspective I often treat their music like I do classical, for extended listening periods or long drives without the rapture of my youth, more appreciating the special creativity of their work and the unique timeless quality of the melodies and arrangements. I have the last album with Jon Davidson and it is a worthy effort that might presage a new creative period but I think Anderson/Stolt was a better album altho excessively Anderson dominated.... with it were more Stolt but that is a personal preference. Yes in any configuration is worth a listen.

@@mattlove1 Good points. I like all the versions of YES... just think it is cool when old friends bury the hatchet. Wish Pink Floyd would....one more time. I think there might be more than Anderson in that Wakeman has been struggling with health issues too.... still a studio album would have been a nice goal for them. I like both bands and I suspect YES will be around for a long time in one incarnation or another.

All these masterful musicians are now in the their 70's, and if they were to play one last time, they should do it soon; Steve Howe need's to come to sense's and realize the musical mortality of Yes has been rearing it's ugly head ever since Chris Squire passed away in 2015, and with that, they should give the fan's what they really want. And having an underemployed Geddy Lee playing bass, which he most certainly would, could make one last tour very special.

Now he wants to rejoin Yes to do one final tour, then drive the last nail in their coffin? They are doing just fine as they are, why should they let him disrupt them again? Davison has a nicer voice. If Anderson wants to be on the Yes team, he should find a place where he fits without disrupting, As the badly treated but big-hearted Tony Kaye did last year.

It would be amazing, and a good way to bookend their career as Yes. As we see our rock stars aging (like us), going on tour takes so much energy. Are they all up to it? And now with the pandemic, the future of rock concerts remains to be seen. Maybe that's the idea - do a virtual concert with all of them either in the same room or in their perspective locations. It would be historic. And they could pave the way to How To Do a virtual concert. If any group could do it, it's Yes.

I suggested to Ray Bennett's wife Sherry that he get in touch with Jon about playing bass in this latest Yes configuration. She told me that Ray wouldn't be interested and that he prefers playing his own material. Considering Ray's work in Peter Banks' band 'Flash', he would be the only one who could come close to Chris Squire in terms of ability. Ray is an incredible bass player. His work on the Flash tune 'Lifetime' is second to none. Ray also happens to be a good friend of Bill Bruford's.

I’m tempted to get a copy of this album, even though I have not yet procured a record by any of the individual Yes members.
Chris Squire actually saw a future in which the Yes name would go on when all the original members were gone. The hope is, they won’t just stay in a time like playing nothing but those songs, that the music will continue to grow and evolve.
