My pen name is Cal Kasheau. Hey, I'd like to shamelessly promote my literary accomplishments while I have your attention. I have several short story titles you can get on Amazon; the links are below. Some are humorous, some reflect events in my life, and some are legends I heard of as a child in the swamps of Louisiana. They are only a dollar or two, and most are free with Kindle unlimited membership. I hope you will take the time to read one or two and give me your honest opinion in the comments on whether or not I should continue to pursue a side gig as an author.

Great video. Followed you exactly and fixed my washer. I bought the kit from your link. The only glitch I had was a ground wire connected to the circuit board and grounded behind the back cover. They could have placed it two inches higher and saved me the bother. Thank you!
I’m glad my video guided your repair. Thanks for the comment!
My Cabrio is now sitting out on the curb waiting for the city to pick it up. I have purchased a rebuilt old style Maytag washer and am very happy about it.
I sell them to folks every day that are disgruntled with the new technology. Thanks for watching!
I watched this because I replace the wash plate on the washer and the machine still growls. I will think about replacing this assembly myself. I have/had some experience in my youth as I installed commercial photo labs when you had to send your film in to be developed. Invaluable experience. Nothing is really lost.
Thanks for watching! I hope my video aids in your repair!
Hi, I don't usually comment on video's but i used this one to change the bearings in my washer and boy did it help !! thank you very much :)
I’m so glad you got some use from my video. Thanks for watching and commenting too!
Great video! Seems to be pretty much the same for a non-Platinum Cabrio.
Exactly the same!
38:08 I have to barely tighten the flat nut for the shaft to turn freely & easily, but it feels like it's not on very tight. If I tighten it any more, the shaft still turns ok, but it's pretty tight and a little hard to turn. On the video, it looks like you got it too tight to turn at first too, then the video cut and skipped to where it was turning freely. How tight should it be? How easily should the shaft turn?
It tightens against the bearing race. It should be pretty snug but don’t overdo it. I can’t find the torque specs on it though. Thanks for watching!
Hello Harper, in this video u said u need a special tool to pull all of bearings. Can I ask you what is the special tool ? Thank you so much!
Check the video comments for links to what is needed for the repair. Thanks for watching!
🙋♂️hello...I'm Bruno here from Brazil 🇧🇷...and I'd like to thank you for this amazing video, congratulations...😁👏👍...by the way, just one question...☝️..( What's the name of the background music...?...
Hey, Bruno! The background music is called "Evergreen Fields-Tape Machine" from Epidemic Sound. I buy the copyrights to several songs to use as background music from them. You can get a monthly subscription and you own the rights to use the music in your videos for life. Thanks for watching another one!
used a sissor jack to get the drum out and that worked well. The drum seems to have water sloshing in the bottom. Not sure how that gets in there and if it anything to worry about.
That water is in the balance ring and is there for a purpose. It’s normal. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the feedback.
I just went through this repair. Two days before this repair, I bought and installed new tension rods and springs. My machine still shakes violently and throws uL code during a spin. This happens whether it's loaded or emtpy. Any thoughts? Is it just time for a new machine?
If everything is lined up correctly and tight and you have a good tub hub you might have excessive wear on the hole that slides over the drive shaft. You could also have a bent tub or have lost the salt water in the balance ring. I hope you figure it out. Thanks for watching!
I have exact washer. It sounds like its about to take flight, its so loud. So is this the part i need and video to watch for me to fix? Where can i get the part or kit needed? Thanks for sharing your expertise!!
Check the links in the description for the parts. Thanks for watching!
So do i need the kit, kit tool, tub hub and scissor jack?
It would sure make your life easier to have them all. I suppose you could Jerry Rig a bearing press, and maybe pull the tub with enough wiggling pulling and penetrating oil. Thanks for watching!
Hi new subscriber nice video thanks for sharing. I have washing machine won😊t start or turn on whats the first thing for me to check to fix. Thanks in advance.
Lid switch or lid lock. Thanks for subscribing!
When I got the tub out, I could hear and feel water inside it that won't come out, it's like stuck between the walls or something, is this a problem?
That’s the salt water in the balance ring. It is supposed to be there. It’s what counterbalances an uneven load. Thanks for watching!
Is the parts compatible for the whirlpool cabrio platinum washer
Yes, thanks for watching!
I have the same washer with the same problem. I was told it's an expensive fix. I was quoted $600+ and since it's 13 years old I should just buy a new one. Your thoughs?
I do that repair for around $160. Some “repairmen” don’t want to do that job so will tell you it needs replacing. Thanks for watching!
Get a new washer and stay away from the Cabrio's if it's not the bearing, it's the suspension rods, if not those it's the computer board... This thing's a piece of crap.
Thanks for watching!
Thanks
You’re welcome! Thanks for watching!
Watching to refresh my memory... this will be the 3rd time I've replaced this. 2 years is all you... well, I, get out of them...
What a way to waste a good day......
edit: my pro tip? Tape the lid down to the top so it doesn't spring open and break the hinges.... especially if it is the glass lid. Trust me...
Thanks for the tip and for choosing my video to guide you!
What makes the stator crack in 4 spots. 12 , 3, 6, and 9 o'clock? The leak ?
Cracks are very common on these models but they don’t seem to affect the machine’s performance. I’m careful not to over tighten the stator when I reinstall it. Thanks for watching!
2:08 im OCD about that too 😂they gotta face up if they have a label on it 😅
Yeah, I drive my wife crazy sometimes. I’m glad there are more of us around than just me. Thanks for watching!
The glue & grease part was the most stressful part by a long shot.
But you got it done! Thanks for watching!
Mine is starting to speak when the agitated start doing
It’s probably saying “repair me!” Thanks for watching!
Do you have a video on a wirpool made back in 2010? #wtw57esvwl
The thing about your model number is that it has the exact planform as any other Whirlpool direct drive model. You can refer to any of my videos in this series of washing machines and find information that will pertain to yours. Browse through my videos for your particular problem. Thanks for watching!
Also ment to say thanks for your videos love them.
Well, thank you for watching them!
Is there a trick to removing the tub hub? The white plastic inner ring has a tiny bit of play but refuses to pull off. I tried brushing the spindle shaft to remove rust but no luck so far.
I use a pick and scrape the grooves in the splines. I also use penetrating oil and work the hub up and down until it works free. Sometimes it is very challenging. Thanks for watching!
Wow, I saw the clothes at the end…but didn’t get to actually HEAR it run through the spin cycle. Your title claims “ HOW TO FIX ROARING NOISE….” Why bother to make a long and thorough video, but not spend another 10 minutes at the end to let us WATCH & LISTEN to the spin cycle run Perfectly. I’m not sure your How To repair can be trusted. That’s too bad. But at least you demonstrated what a labor-intensive process it is to replace the bearings and seals. I’m Convinced buying new is the best way to go.
I’m sorry my video didn’t please you. Thanks for watching it anyway.

This is the video I'm using to put my parts in, though it's kind of way longer than it needs to be. I'm not sure why we have to see every screw taken out, one at a time rather than point to the screws and say 'remove these screws' and maybe removing one...I think we can figure how to do that. And maybe edit out all the walking back and forth to get tools and put them away...time-suck. Not sure why you put grease inside the bearing seal, that is silly, as it serves no purpose inside the seal (at 47:32). BUT other than making a 25 minute long repair video last over an hour...it's okay.
Perhaps I should fire my editor!!! Thanks for watching.
@@HarperandKnowles Hey! Why didn't you clean the filter under the tub when you had it out? Two 1/4" screws! Mine was filthy. Right now I'm waiting for the glue to dry, tomorrow I'm putting it all back together....wish me luck.
thats what fast forward is for.
