One of the best instructional videos on the internet. Thank you
Wow thanks 🙏
Cheers buddy, today I installed my own runner with the help of this vid
Congrats
Yes i agree you are the best explaining . Very detail.
😀
Brilliant video thanks !
Looked like 5 and 3/4" to me on the side JS lol Great job. Thanks, gonna steal some of these great techniques.
Thanks Clint 😀😀😀
thank you! very generous of you to offer to help us measure our carpets! I learned a lot from you!
😀😀😀
This is the right thing to do, clean! Some carpeters looks shit result you can see the underlay of all side. Dust dirt stays in the side.
Thanks for that🤙🤙🤙
Very helpful. Pray for me I am about to start this project .
Lol you’ll do great!
Beautiful job ❤love it!
Thanks
This is so detailed, thank you so much! Do you have a list of tools needed for this project?
should be in the info below the video
Cool video Keith, it’s amazing how different installers work & still achieve a perfect finish 👌🏻🔥…
Thanks 🤙🤙🤙
Excellent explanation. Can i get these tools to rent at Home Depot. Thank you!
You should be able to get a few
Great Tutorial Keith! Want to check with you about the carpet padding. Any recommendations on the width and depth of the padding? Just wonder about the space needed on all 4 corners of the padding. Thanks
We use 10 mill gold foil top pad / about 3/8 to half inch
@@KeithShannonDirectCarpet Thank You. So do you leave 0.5 inch on each side of the carpet padding to the edge of the carpet?
I’m curious about how to lay down the runner on the landing. At the end of your video I see that you had one but without instructions, I’m lost on how to do this part. Can you explain?
ua-cam.com/video/g_TA4dm3nLE/v-deo.html here is the full video 😀
Thanks for keeping real time and not skipping around. I didn’t see you do the landing in the middle there tho. Did you staple directly into the quarter round?
I did
Why is the runner not in the centre of the stair and is the underpads 1” in?
Really helpful video, Keith, thank you! Can you explain the carpet pad, type and installation? And do you not use nailing strips?
For certain carpets I do not use nailing strips ( smoothedge, tack strip) the pad that we use is 10mil gold foil top pad
@@KeithShannonDirectCarpet Thanks again! I just finished install of first stair runner using your instructions and it came out perfect! Best regards!
@@webmastertaylor I’d love to see it! Throw up a pic🤙🤙🤙
@Keith Shannon So do you leave 1 inch of space between the edge of the padding and edge of carpet? Thank You
That is exactly correct🤙🤙🤙
Greetings from the UK. Great video Keith. Just a question on the underlay. I notice you only put it on the treads (and not around the nose). Do you leave a small space at the junction of the tread and riser? or do you add the underlay the entire depth of the tread?
Well truth be told as you must know / it’s best to have the pad over the edge for wear purposes but the carpet that we are using does not respond very well with the pad over the nose and also does not rewind well to tack strip that’s why we have switched our methods
What do you do when there are pie shaped treads at the top of the stairs? Do you have a video about that? Thanks
I’m sure there is one in their / I will have a look
Did you say 5/16 or 9/16 for staples? Appreciate the videos! Going to try installing runners in my house but I want to make sure I have everything right 👍🏻. Your videos have been extremely helpful!
I always Get it Mixed up Myself 9/16 here is a text link to them so you can check out the size and what they look like amzn.to/36SvlRJ
Can you rent install tools anywhere ? Big investment for a 1 time product use.
Usually you can rent the tools at any rental place
Do you offer a length of 30 feet? I only see the length on your website going up to 28 feet. Thanks
Let me know what carpet you’d like and we may be able to assist 👍
My wife wants the top stair done as well because its usually the main one that we slip on. Any suggestions? I was thinking of using a transition. We have old school hardwood floor.
Not sure exactly what you mean / do you mean the hallway ? The nosing?
When you are stapling the riser, you say 45. Does that mean part of staple on riser and part on tread? Or 45 degrees into the carpet on the tread?
Good question/ yes exactly but when I staple I staple as close to the tread that I can so when I have to cut let’s say at the riser I don’t hit any staples with my knife
You can see evey staple.
What kind and staples size did you use ?
9/16 crown
Do you use the same procedure when applying a carpet runner over carpeted staircase?
I don’t carpet over carpet
Always thought a carpet Tucker is a stair tool.
Hello, is the electric gun you used for the stairs easy to use?
Very
my staples are so visible! what do you use?
We use 9/16 crown staples
Do you actually use staples or neils with a staple gun. I used staples and i can see the staples on the carpet when stapled to the stairs
I use staples
What size staples are you using? Thanks
9/16 crown
@@KeithShannonDirectCarpet thank you
What sizes staples do you use?
9/16 crown
